It makes Putin's dictatorship look like a democracy.  Cheesy

You can. He can. They can. She can... We can!

Rules are for slaves and children.
3383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal President's Bitcoin Fascination on: March 20, 2015, 05:30:08 PM
If I were PayPal I would be trying to crush bitcoin. Sure they could start using them at a loss of revenue, but why? They have not figured out a way to game the market like they do with grandpa's money.
What I would do is pay people to set up phoney accounts at bitcointalk.org and post disparaging threads about how bitcoin will fail and how only official bank sanctioned money can save you.
3384  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What happens if you sell large amounts of bitcoisn through cash deposits? on: March 20, 2015, 05:24:46 PM
Shouldn't make a difference assuming you are paying your taxes. If not then, well... Maybe you'll get lucky or maybe you will go to prison?
3385  Economy / Speculation / Re: More Bitcoin adoption = lower Bitcoin/Usd rate! on: March 20, 2015, 05:20:30 PM
I don't know how you can arrive at this conclusion? It flies in the face of basic math and the history anyone can see. I began using bitcoin when they were $0.70 or so. Since then they have gone up thousands and thousands of % points and have been adopted by millions. Clearly and mathematically provably..., greater demand leads to higher prices.
3386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Winklevoss Twins Is At It Again on: March 20, 2015, 04:31:03 PM
Cash is already dead. Consider that most of the spending, receiving, and storing you currently do is electronic. Very little is transacted in cash anymore.  The choice is not whether your future money will be electronic, it's about which money you will use.
3387  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any Tips for getting a Start with Bitcoins? on: March 20, 2015, 03:22:50 PM
My advice is don't screw around with faucets or signature campaigns or loans or alt coins. Just set up an account like a grown up, fund it with $200 or so then buy some bitcoin. You are now in a better position to shop online. You have a safer, faster and cheaper option than your credit card has ever been.
3388  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-03-16] CS - App Pays You in Bitcoin Based on Intensity of Your Workout on: March 19, 2015, 05:49:08 PM
It's probably going to pay dust even for an intensive workout. I like the idea but to really motivate people, the reward has to be significant, i.e. you'd have to be able to buy at the very least an isotonic drink or a protein bar after an hour of running the app.

If insurance companies put it out it wouldn't pay dust. Take bluecross, they have a website to log things, report activity, etc, for points. With these points, you can easily get hundreds of dollars worth of stuff from their catalog. The problem here, is no one that you will be paying for insurance is going to be backing it. So instead it's the marketing dollars they can generate. I truly doubt at this time if you'll ever recoup the cost of the new monitoring device you will have to get.
That's an interesting idea. Maybe an insurance company would fund something like this? My wife and I each get $100 per year because we are in a CSA that delivers organic farm products.
3389  Economy / Speculation / Re: I already sold all my coins... waiting to get back at $200 on: March 19, 2015, 04:30:17 PM
Sold all your coins? Ouch, sorry to hear it bud.
3390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please no more merchant adoption!! on: March 19, 2015, 03:22:39 PM
It would be great if supply chain adoption happens also, but merchant adoption is the measure of success. If it's accepted broadly then we have money, literally.
3391  Economy / Economics / Re: Deep Web Drug Market Disappeared Overnight, $12 Million in Bitcoin Missing on: March 19, 2015, 01:49:44 PM
So the criminals turned out to be criminals. I for one am shocked.
3392  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: My character was badly damaged here - 4 BTC loan on: March 18, 2015, 08:08:55 PM
Sure, that will work too. Because you have a new account I was unsure about what you know. I personally do not give negative feedback for asking. That seems wrong to me, but since 95% of loan requests from new accounts are scams some people have just become fed up with it.

You might want to consider setting up an exchange account anyway. Loans are a risky and expensive way to get BTC. That is especially true if paying back in BTC. Suppose the price rises 30%?

3393  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tourists killed in Tunisia museum attack on: March 18, 2015, 07:55:59 PM
I would never visit the middle east and affected African states where this issue of these ISIS/ISIL militants are and they have lax security, and Tunisia most definitely falls into that category. Why are western governments not telling their people not to bother travelling to these places? If these people are ISIS expect more casualties, possibly all.
Na. I go there all the time. I just got back about two months ago from Jordan. I was there when they caught that pilot who was burned alive. But when you are in the mid east you realize how local many of these events are. It's a little like Japanese tourists in the USA. They are often very frightened of gang violence. Convinced that motorcycle gangs will attack the tour bus Mad Max style. When you live in the US you can see how silly that is, even though there are violent gangs here.

Very few people support DASCH. They are often the butt of jokes and the subject of scorn. People say things like "maybe if we pray for DASCH they'll convert to Islam." Or the guy I met who, upon seeing my beard, asked if I was here to join the Jihad. I told him I tried, but they kicked me out for being "too radical".  You would think that joke is too dark to be funny, but there are a lot of dark Jihadi jokes.
3394  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoins strong bullish signs and efforts just got rekt, again. on: March 18, 2015, 05:59:27 PM
Centralized exchanges and ponzis will stop when people stop giving them money.
3395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Regulation The End For Bitcoin? on: March 18, 2015, 05:53:01 PM
Yes but those people are godless heathen commie foreigners. No one in their little protected bubble of America gives a shit about them.

Unfortunately, that is how most humans think. Psychologically, we are programmed to empathize with a starving homeless person in our hometown but if we are funding the wholesale slaughter and torture of millions in a far away land we find all sorts of lies to ignore , repress, or rationalize such actions.

Nothing personal against RodeoX but it is depressing with the extent that people will rationalize and perform mental gymnastics to excuse this behavior or give a little bit of security to oneself. (Murder and torture was neutralized to simple government waste)
I am with you more than you know. I was in the anti-war protests before the Afghan invasion. The war had 80%+ support in America and only about 200 people showed up to protest. When I would say that this might take 20 years people would laugh and say "more like 6 months." That was 14 years ago and we are now further behind than ever.

However the real cost is yet to be counted. In the mid-east your friends and enemies are for life. Because most casualties of war are civilians we have made a lot of enemies. Even when the enemy is the one hurting people many will blame us because we came from halfway around the world to get into their business. We might think it's acceptable to kill a civilian to get to 10 bad dudes, but what if it was your brother? You might just decide that the Americans must pay and join the enemy. What have we gained then?
I would like to see us cut our military in half and start extricating ourselves from being the world police. We aren't any good at it anymore and it is harder than ever to find someone to even side with.
As for taxes... It has been calculated that if 5% of Americans choose to not file it would be impossible for the IRS to process them before the next tax season. What if as a protest we all file 1 month late? Our only real power anymore is that congress and the senate need our money to enrich themselves. It's the only pain they seem to respond to.
3396  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will be the buttom of this CRASH? Whats your guess? on: March 18, 2015, 05:22:29 PM
Where do you people come up with this shit?
I have a theory... Where does shit come from?
3397  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: NEW AND FRESH ! JUST DOUBLE YOUR COINS IN 50 HOURS ! on: March 18, 2015, 04:28:28 PM
One need look no further than "DOUBLE YOUR COINS" to see it's a scam. Why does he need coins if he can "DOUBLE" them?  Roll Eyes
3398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Regulation The End For Bitcoin? on: March 18, 2015, 04:23:17 PM
Of course it may be hard to impossible for the IRS to determine your bitcoin tax liability, but is it worth it to avoid taxes? If you are caught you will owe taxes, penalties, and maybe have some jail time to do. It would be a sad story if you got rich then lost it because you wanted a little more.

There is a legitimate argument to be had that the risk of being a conscientious objector and refusing to fund murder, torture, corruption, and our own repression is a noble activity that is worth pursuing.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agorism

Luckily and unluckily for me I don't have many bitcoins as I lost, spent and tipped out most of my savings and I am sure many others will have the same fate befall upon them due to the difficult early years while we develop more secure methods of backing up ones savings.
I can respect someone objecting to taxes, I don't like how the money gets wasted either. But make no mistake, you are sacrificing yourself for your cause. The court is highly unlikely to grant you the only exception ever made. You will have your clear conscience at the cost of your money and your freedom. For some it may be a better result than involving themselves in something they morally object too.
3399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adoption in terms of users on: March 18, 2015, 03:57:49 PM
I find it difficult to calculate because we don't know how bitcoin will be used in the future. Perhaps in 10 years there will still be at 1.5M users, but 500M machines that use bitcoin every day. Or perhaps a loss of net neutrality will drive BTC underground and lead to only a few hundred black market users.
My best guess is mass adoption and a billion or more users. That seems like a lot, however spread out over the planet it's only like 15%.
3400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Regulation The End For Bitcoin? on: March 18, 2015, 03:49:00 PM
An important thing to keep in mind is that bitcoin has never been beyond regulation. Capitol gains is, and has always been, required when you trade something for a value that has appreciated. It does not matter if it's beanie babies or stocks or real estate. There is no tax free money. Of course it may be hard to impossible for the IRS to determine your bitcoin tax liability, but is it worth it to avoid taxes? If you are caught you will owe taxes, penalties, and maybe have some jail time to do. It would be a sad story if you got rich then lost it because you wanted a little more.
