3381  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Before getting into trading on: September 23, 2021, 11:46:21 AM
OP, 1. NEVER join a paid group.

2. NEVER buy a “secret strategy” from someone who claims that the “strategy” is very profitable

3. Learn from open source information

4. Learn from all perspectives from different traders, and different trading strategies, STUDY/WORK HARD

5. START WITH SMALL CAPITAL

6. If after everything you still are not profitable, save money and Buy the Bitcoin Dip, and HODL Cool
3382  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: My gadgets store now accept bitcoin! on: September 23, 2021, 10:09:47 AM
OP, congratulations! Who said we need regulations, or a Legal Tender status/permission from the government to accept Bitcoin for payments? Cool

Plus if no one pays in Bitcoin, you have helped expand the awareness for Bitcoin. Your local drug dealer might start accepting it for payments too. Hahaha.
3383  Economy / Economics / Re: Tulip Mania 2.0 on: September 23, 2021, 09:52:37 AM
There are many nocoiners that claim that Bitcoin is “Tulip Mania 2.0”, but it has been 10 years. How long must the protocol keep running before the rest of the world accepts that Bitcoin is not going anywhere. In fact, it opened a Pandora’s Box of new possbilities. BUT, I believe the next “Tulip Mania” for this bull cycle are, NFTs.

NFTs are the ICOs of this bull run.

There are simply way too many projects that can be created for virtually no cost for the current price tags on these things.

The people who have levered up to "flip" NFTs as a lifestyle will see their capital get wiped away fairly quickly when things go south in my opinion. It is truly a mania right now.

During the crash, was there a stop-loss for NFT? NO! Because that market is not like the cryptocurrency market, or the stock market/commodity market where LIQUIDITY can protect you from big losses. A price of a $1,000,000 NFT can crash to $10,000 during an economic depression.
3384  Economy / Economics / Re: [LIST] Countries that own bitcoin on: September 22, 2021, 11:36:08 AM
OP, I believe North Korea also owns hacked/stolen Bitcoin for purposes of censorship-resistance, and for their economic sanctions resistance. The main Bitcoin value proposition. Cool

Add it in your list, but put a question mark, or something indicating it as open to debate, and/or “Shower Thoughts”. Haha.
3385  Economy / Economics / Re: Chinese construction Mega-Bankruptcy. Evergrande about to crash for 355B on: September 22, 2021, 11:22:22 AM
The CCP won’t save Evegrande, but it will make policy decisions to prevent Evergrande’s crash from spreading to other sectors of China’s economy. Or stop it from spreading to other companies in that sector. There will be capital injections from Bank of China, and lower Policy Rates. Everything will be OK next month. Buy the Dip, it’s an opportunity. Cool

I thought again, the Chinese government will save this company. Currently, Evergrande has paid a part interest to banks and shareholders. They raised money from the families of the group's employees. They seem to be very good at this.
Lehman Brothers Bank is a lesson from the US for China to decide to save Evergrande Groups. The consequences of letting a large economic group die will bring real collapse to the Chinese economy. It will take time and money to restore the world's second-largest economy.

For China, if there will truly be an “economic crash”, I believe it will be a “controlled crash”. I know we believe in decentralization as Bitcoiners, but the Chinese Central Planning also has its advantages.
3386  Economy / Economics / Re: Chinese construction Mega-Bankruptcy. Evergrande about to crash for 355B on: September 22, 2021, 06:28:00 AM
The effect from Evergrande is spreading and affecting the real estate market as well as the entire stock market in China. Sinic holdings Group, a real estate development company in China, has lost 87% of its stock value today.

Then the Central Planner of China will have no other choice in this situation. The government will, BRRR-print Yuan into existence, and BAIL EVERY COMPANY OUT if they need it. OR, there won’t only be a great economic crisis, but there will also be the Great Resignation of a leader. The choice is his, Bail out or Resign.

I don't think the Chinese government will save this company because if they buy dollars it will devalue the yuan. This will greatly affect other sectors of China's economy. They ignored Evergrande's call for help in July.

If one has the capability to invest now then grab it, The current situation is an opportunity. Though, don't forget to DYOR before engaging in something. The market is a bit interesting now, one of the best times to play in and explore. A lot of opportunities have opened up, to be honest.

Despite the huge movement, please don't panic and just be patient. Just keep your ground, trust your data and somehow your instinct. HODL as much as you can for now, better day is ahead  Smiley

I don't know why but I'm not bothered or worried about the market decline that started on Sunday. I think it might most likely be because the overall market trend at the moment is bullish ~ I mean, El Salvador keeps buying more bitcoin and adding to their portfolio. Microstrategy isn't selling and most big traders I know aren't taking out their positions yet. Goes to show that everyone still believes that we aren't done yet in this cycle. At the moment, I'm just DCA-ing. First at $43K earlier today. I would buy if it goes any lower than this though.

The latest correction in price is as a result of a possible default in loan repayments
by Chinas second largest development company, Evergrande.

The stock exchanges are spooked which spills over into the Crypto markets. This
is a great time to buy but who knows if we have hit the bottom resulting from this news.

The Chinese property giant owes $300 billion and is on the hook for as many as 1.6 million apartments.

Once China’s most prolific property developer, Evergrande has become the country’s most indebted company. It owes money to lenders, suppliers and foreign investors. It owes unfinished apartments to home buyers and has racked up more than $300 billion in unpaid bills. Evergrande faces lawsuits from creditors and has seen its shares lose more than 80 percent of their value this year.

Roll Eyes

FUD. China can BRRR-print Yuan without worrying about inflation because it has an annual trade surplus with the United States of $300 BILLION. Plus Chinese Policy Rates will obviously be lowered as early as October. There might be a “crash” in some sectors, but a controlled crash. BUY THE DIP AND?

The members here said that only Coinbase employees can access these Coins with private keys.

The Coinbase support insists that they cannot be recovered.

Coinbase obviously lied to you. They, and only they, have access to the private key to that public key. The person from Coinbase’s support who talked to you probably, doesn’t know how anything technically works, or there’s a policy not to help users with that kind of problem.

Plus always zoom out, when in doubt.

There was someone who asked that what’s a good altcoin “investment” for short term during the current crash/dip. The replies were, shitcoins, and maybe NFTs. These are stupid short term investments during a dip because you might have less Bitcoin than you invested after conversion. Best SHORT TERM investment during the dip? ONLY IF NEEDED, United States Dollars. The conversion back will earn you more Bitcoin.

3391  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you determine which cryptos to buy during this dip? on: September 21, 2021, 07:58:59 AM
For short term investment

For short term? Buy United States Dollars! YES, a HODLer suggests you do it, BUT ONLY IF you’re looking for a SHORT TERM investment. Then use this to buy Bitcoin’s dip, and HODL. They are both currencies, aren’t they? Invest in one, HODL the other.
3392  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Some trading mistakes beginners make on: September 20, 2021, 01:35:09 PM
I believe, currently, it’s a time to do NOTHING. Many times, I have seen plebs like me buy during a strong dip to “time” the market. This is NOT a wise method of buying the dip. It’s called catching a falling knife. Do NOTHING, and WAIT/be PATIENT.
3393  Economy / Economics / Re: Chinese construction Mega-Bankruptcy. Evergrande about to crash for 355B on: September 20, 2021, 01:21:43 PM
China can, A. BRRR-print, and pump their economy with Yuan to stop the crash, OR B. Let the economy fix itself by leaving it alone, and let it be through a recession. For Bitcoin HODLers, we can, A. Relax, OR B. embrace another golden opportunity to buy the dip and HODL. Cool
3394  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: September 20, 2021, 11:50:53 AM
I’m stupid, and a bad “trader”. There was no need for me to be specialized in “technical-analysis” to buy the dip. I simply saved some of my monthly salary, zoomed out, and waited. I was also very lucky.

Your strategy in investing bitcoin can also be considered good and profitable in the long run. If you consistently buy every correction and hold it in the long term, then I believe you can also make big profits. Regardless of what strategies we have used so far in investing, buy the dip seems much more popular now.

I once heard a story about someone who regularly invests in bitcoin every day. He started to think bitcoin was a safe and profitable store of value in the long term and decided to invest every day regardless of how much it cost. After a few years, he made a completely unexpected profit from his habit of investing. I think this strategy is almost similar to your investment strategy.

I believe it is starting to become very very obvious that the current crash is another golden opportunity to start looking for discounts? Plus if this might indeed be the bear market, wait longer/be more patient/save and save your money. You want to have something to buy with when the time is right. Cool
3395  Economy / Economics / Re: Tulip Mania 2.0 on: September 20, 2021, 11:39:48 AM
I believe it would help give NFTs “value” if they were issued in the Bitcoin blockchain. The NFTs themselves might be a victim of bull-bear/mania-depression cycles, but they will be encased in a multi-generational protocol in Bitcoin. Shitcoin blockchains will die, Bitcoin chugs along.

Is that even possible? I did not know that NFT's could be in bitcoin blockchain as well, I assumed that the blockchain of bitcoin doesn't allow such things to happen. I am fine with ETH by the way, their blockchain is fine and their price is fine as well and certainly do not consider it a shitcoin. The NFT's in ada, sol and similar stuff would be bad in the future, those are still not "shit" coins as we can see from their rank but just because something is top 10 doesn't mean it will stay in top 10.

I’m technically very stupid, but I believe it is through the Mastercoin/Omni protocol, and the Counterparty protocol. The Ethereum shitcoin blockchain can’t be trusted because it’s not on a path to ossification. It wants changes, revolutionary changes which is bad for stability.

Honestly NFT's are definitely like tulip mania 2.0, that is not even a hard guess. It is obvious that people are not doing anything that makes sense during this period, they are spending money on things that actually has no worth at all. I hope that one day people will realize that they are doing something wrong, but the moment that is realized we are talking about something that is very horrible for all those people who spent that much money so far.

How are NFTs different from Bitcoin at all?  The value of each is based only on speculation, they're premised on a manufactured scarcity to give the impression of being valuable because they are somewhat rare, people are only interested in them as a get rich quick vehicle... the comparison is perfect. I see no difference between NFTs and Bitcoin, so for someone to criticize NFTs as an investment vehicle and not crypto is the peak of cognitive dissonance to me.

You can argue for that, and I would respect it. Plus using ONLY the market as the main standpoint for your argument, I would say you’re right. But Bitcoin is more than the market. It’s also the protocol, the incentive structure, EVERYTHING about it that makes the system stick together IS the true value. NFTs are issued somewhere in a shitcoin blockchain that might not exist in 10 years.

The “art” in NFT are also not good. Most of them are worthless or will be, and stupid. It’s Tulip Mania 2.0.

The chart is by William Clemente.
3398  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: September 18, 2021, 06:21:23 AM
It is easy to say that ""Buy the dip" but it is nearly impossible to know what the dip price is. We are just making our predictions and acting according to it. And we hope that we invested in at the right time. But of course, you don't need to care about what dip level could be too. You can just make an investment any time you want and start waiting for a long term.

Agreed with you. No one can able to say what is the exactly Dip price is. But with the help of Technical analysis, we can predict a  level and can ably make our decision. So technical analysis is very important when people want to make an investment decision. Investment in Bitcoin is really profitable there is no doubt. But the condition is you need to buy it for a long time. In the long run, Bitcoin will give a good return.

I’m stupid, and a bad “trader”. There was no need for me to be specialized in “technical-analysis” to buy the dip. I simply saved some of my monthly salary, zoomed out, and waited. I was also very lucky.

~
The only people who keeps repeating, and keeps making us believe in the narrative that NFTs are “here to stay” are those same people who have invested much of their coins in them. Why would I convert my precious Bitcoins to a shitcoin, to invest in an NFT? Cool
Even i was confused in the beginning when people were spending huge amount for basically small pictures in digital form, Everydays: The First 5000 Days of an artist sold for $69 million which is crazy and some of the CryptoPunk collections sold over multiple million dollars. I started venturing into the NFT market with a team who sells aNFT and there are many users that are new to the cryptocurrency market who are there just to purchase the aNFT of their favorite sports person and Lionel Messi was a huge success.

Will see how the NFT market would be in the next couple of years and then i will make a comment  Grin.

If NFT should truly be valuable, then I believe it can only truly exist in the most truly valuable blockchain, that’s truly decentralized and censorship-resistant. Those other shitcoin blockchains are only mere databases. HODLing anything in them is a risk.
