That crypto-news counter appears to be counting the BTC block number, not BTG. You can even see it in their source code API call.

Code:
   refreshData = function()
   {
       jQuery.get("https://api.crypto-games.net/v1/ForkTime/BTC/491407", function(data) {
            jQuery("#timeOfFork").html(data);
       });
       jQuery.get("https://api.crypto-games.net/v1/CurrentBlock/BTC", function(data) {
            jQuery("#currentBlock").html(data);
       });
    }
    setInterval(function () {
        refreshData();
    }, 60000);
    refreshData();

Good pick up Smiley
I've now got all my cards set up on the main pool with only 600 blocks to go.

So which on is it? BTGpool.pro counter or like this: https://www.crypto-news.net/bitcoin-gold-btg-hard-fork-countdown-clock

Hopefully not that one  Embarrassed

They just announced "Public mining will be available at block height 499407", so what's current block? I feel like BTG dev teams are not professional.

Currently at 497728, so 1679 remaining.
Watch it at http://btgpool.pro/index.php

Thanks, Man, I'm watching that now , i  will say this in all honestly, i haven't call it one big scam yet because there is to many exchanges and server/pools involved that want to see it happen and make it work an it just might happen and there appears to be a lot of hard of work that went into this just so mining can be returned back to the People it belongs to but some of the stuff they have done so far is a little questionable but nothing really really bad yet , time will tell ...

I think it's worth the gamble
So much interest currently it seems to big to fail too quickly

When on earth is this starting. It's only on block 494125 now

No idea, https://pool.miningspeed.com/ seems to be the only pool that doesnt keep going down that im watching
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Gold Mining [Miners and suggestions] on: November 13, 2017, 12:48:27 AM
if no one saw this yet i haven't checked the blocks yet an I'm mining on btgmine.org right now , haven't checked stats yet.

Mainnet launched
Public mining will be available at block height 499407

so that's 5290 btc blocks to go a few hours a way .  i hope then it starts an no more excuses.

so your mining for them if you mine BTG right now, that's your call, I'm going back to ETH and ZEC till then ...I'm sure they all ready made a few mill profit, no one ever really tells the truth when it comes to money if they say other wise, so me adding to there pot doesn't seem fair to anyone we get nothing in return at this point, SO it's point less till it's live for to the Public but that's me .....

Yeah the issue is that nobody knows what block it is currently. The pools seem stuck on one block for some time now.

Yeah, not showing past 2341 remaining Sad

What is the best (most efficient) hardware for mining BTG?

Nvidia cards.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Investing 100K in mining operation, which crypto to mine & hardware? on: November 12, 2017, 10:48:55 PM
I'm running the 1080ti's and they all ROI'd in what I think was a reasonable time.
Not going to buy many more before Volta comes out. Maybe you'd be best doing a split, spending half of the investment now on Vega/1080ti and learning. Then depending on which flavor you prefer, go with Volta or more AMD cards.

Is it testnet or mainnet?

You are on test net, because main net is sync.
Blockchain Height current value: 495882 / 499407 (3525 blocks left)

Mining will start in about 3 hours.  Grin

Counting down!

Which pool is everybody liking?
Mining speed looks good to me

Could anybody say -
Where to find wallet for BTG, where to miner BTG?
What pool to use?

Thanks.

You can create a wallet using coinomi. Just use any equihash miner, like EWBF's, DSTM's etc..

I dont know either which pool to use but will probably try btg.suprnova.cc first and see how's it going. We will quickly see if its profitable or not to mine BTG.

Not a fan of http://pool.gold/ ?

Great, Thanks for the link.

What would people recommend, going a Delta 2400W PSU with a 180W atx power module.

Or

One of the 2600W PSU such as https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Deep-In-The-Mines-2600w-ATX-Power-Supply-180v-240v-ETH-ZEC-mining-S7-S9-12-GPU-/401396653730

Hoping for as many 1080ti as i can on the H110 Pro motherboard, 10-12 per rig preferably.

Thanks.

Getting killed while people pile onto the +180% BCC pump... good time to load up
359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 12, 2017, 06:51:07 AM

My 3.4 bcc is now worth quite a lot

Earlier this year I had more than 18 BCC. I sold them for a reasonable amount at the time, but now? well... timing is everything. Like if I had held my over 7k LTC mined in 2012. The LTC I sold in 2016 and is funding my crypto forays today, including miners, and other alts.

Yeah i sold my 4 BCC for $700 ish though I did well  Angry Angry Angry

It's going insane... +174%
360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 10, 2017, 11:28:18 AM

I think we might be in for a... disappointment.

As a guy posted in another thread, max total miner revenue per 24 hours is = 144 blocks * 12.5 block reward * $180/coin = $324,000 a day

Ethereum miner revenuer per 24 hours is like $6 million.

I don't think this will be a high flier unless the price goes up substantially.

Ethereum has 104 Th Nethash... that's 3.5 million GPU's @ 30Mh/s.

So it would be the same revenue as BTG if BTG attracts 1/18th the GPU's, i.e., 200,000 GPU's.

Hopefully it attracts a few more GPU's than that
