Off-chain computation removes block verification costs from each transaction. How will miners get paid mining these transactions?

342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MESSAGE TO BOUNTY MANAGERS on: March 12, 2020, 11:01:15 PM
Hello guys,

In a bid to fight bounty scammers and spammers on the telegram campaign, there is a great wisdom in the format adopted by julerz12 in his GEOMA bounty campaign (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5223521.0), you are first told to answer questions on a google format just to test your simple knowledge on Cryptocurrency and then still require you to apply on google form together with Proof-Of-Authentication on the bounty thread.

Some hunters just quickly come to the google application form, deplore several telegrams or even steal some bitcointalk users telegram username  who are not participating in telegram campaign, and use it to cheat. This is why we do see over 2k-8k telegram applicants on a single campaign on the spreadsheet which sometimes will give the BM and his team a hard time verifying and sorting out real workers from cheaters and spammers, they may not be able to fully do a perfect job.

This style employed by Julerz in GEOMA bounty campaign is a step in the right direction which I believe has helped to chase off some telegram scammers and spammers off this campaign and thereby reducing applicants to only serious campaigners and at the end will lessen the overall job of the BM. There were days I got discouraged seeing over 8K in some telegram campaigns.

Let me hear your suggestions too. Thanks.

It is a very nice idea to chase away those that are not ready to work and those stealing bitcointalk accounts to run multiple accounts.  Even if participants use internet to answer some of those questions, at least they would have learnt one or two things about crypto and with that a purpose is achieved, rather than registering for bounties without any basic knowledge of what they're doing.  For example, there are some high rank members of this forum that created a thread through which they give merits to whosever deserve it based on how you can answer some basic to medium questions about crypto and blockchain tech.
343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We are only rich on spreadsheets on: March 11, 2020, 04:20:15 PM
Yes, that's what bounties these days make us. They show us big big rewards on their spreadsheets but the real values of those rewards they offer us are sometimes not even up to $5 on the market. I feel bounty hunters are only being used as baits by project owners to catch their investors virtually for free. What do you think guys ?

This is a very sad experience I must confess.  I could remember participating in Thaler bounty campaign, on spreadsheet, the reward was even written in dollars not even in token. At the end of the day, neither dollar nor token, they refuse to pay.  Last two weeks, I participated in bynamic bounty campaign, I got a total of $20 worth of token on the spreadsheet, at the end of the payment, the same amount only worth $4.
344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not blame it on Corona outbreak on: March 10, 2020, 06:01:56 AM
Anyway, it might be some coincidence, but in as much we are still in this world, I think whatever that have the ability of affecting the world could also have some influence on cryptocurrencies.  It is true that some unidentified looters of Bitcoin may be dumping it. But when the economy is down too, those with crypto assets may want to sell it too to get some recovery, at least you sell what you have to get what you need. I think both have a way of interconnection though might be little.
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need of the hour on: March 07, 2020, 10:23:41 AM
There are thousands of altcoins and if you can find dozens of altcoins unerr every segment let it be a pyment or wallet, green energy, asset backed but what is the need of the hour? What's the technology which we are longing for when it comes to altcoin? Because have duplicates of existing technologies will kill altcoin so we need a better altcoin based on current circumstances and future. Kindly share your thoughts about the kind of technology which we need.

Yeah, that's a good opinion which I definitely share part of it.  However, I want to look at it in another direction.  It is true that we need new coins with new idea and technology different from duplicating and packaging of existing ideas. But even the existing ones, how far have they gone in executing or working towards the delivering of mouthwatering ideas they presented in their white papers initially?  Many have gone to extinctions for sure.  I am of the opinion that, if new coin still want to work on existing idea and make it work better than the existing ones, then I am fine with it rather than developing new ideas that will be short lived.  Improving on existing idea or technology is not bad to me.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Managers and Shit projects on: March 06, 2020, 09:21:02 PM
-snip-
some bounty hunters will be very happy if they receive the token, even if the token that is shared is a scam or fraud token. Receiving tokens is better than nothing.
The token will be a decorative asset in the wallet that reminds that the token was generated from a scam project that cheats many people.

I have a wallet full of "decorative" tokens from various exit scams that seemed promising and legit, but in the end turned out to be worthless.
Want to buy them to decorate your man cave walls?

Hhmm... "decorative assets" I can't just count the the whole lots of them in my wallets. Sometimes it got me angry that I deactivate them on my imtoken because I just don't want to be seen them and be thinking I have something meaningful. Anyway, as I advance in experience I began to choose carefully any project I participate in, so that it won't be an exercise in futility.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bounty Managers and Shit projects on: March 04, 2020, 12:21:22 PM
It's no more news that many of us would have had some horrible experiences participating in some resources wasting projects. However, my opinion is that, do bounty managers just accept hook line and sinker to manage bounty campaigns for any project without taking some time to look at the prospects of such project?

I think there should be some experienced members of this forum apart from moderators (because moderators' works might be too enormous) that should be in charge of reviewing projects before bounty managers are allowed to create bounty and/or announcement threads for such projects.  If this can be done effectively, I think the advent of these unworthy projects can be mitigated.

To wrap it up, a bounty manager once told me when I called his attention to some unrealistic plans of the project he was managing, he said he is not concerned about the success of the project, once he gets his weekly payment from the team. I want to know if there are some levels of punishment for bounty managers that manage unworthy projects apart from negative trust?
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: there are still many who invest in cryptocurrency? on: March 04, 2020, 11:44:51 AM
as we know that in 2017 many ICO were successful (at least reached softcap) and of course the market cap was also very high at the time, so it proves that many people are interested to investing in cryptocurrency, but now where do these investors go? because now the market cap is down and many ICO or IEO are failing (not reaching softcap), are investors no longer interested to investing in cryptocurrency? if yes, where are they investing now? or is there a more profitable investment than investing in cryptocurrency for now?

I can partly say that, in that 2017 we have greater percentage of project developers that are faithful to some extent and they are ready to develop their projects. Investors put in their assets and they get good return.  However, as time goes on, we began to experience the advent of numerous scammers with ultimate aim of defrauding investors.  It was this unpalatable experience that actually discouraged if not 90% of investors now. There are numerous places to invest besides cryptocurrencies.
If we unanimously discouraged these fake projects and stop promoting them, probably the investors will start regaining their trust back in crypto.
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best project for investing in 2020? on: March 04, 2020, 06:47:40 AM
Hi guys,
I have one bitcoin and I want to invest it in 3 or 4 projects that have a good potential for return of investments. And because of existing a lot of projects, I hope that you suggest to me some projects according to your visions so I can study them and choose which I can invest in.
Thank you.

Though there are many shitcoins all around now trying to get some hypes through bounties or airdrops, however I can still recommend few projects that are handled by trusted members of this forum.
- Sheng Token (IEO currently going on on PROBIT)
- BlockBurn
- StiB
- Geoma Dao
- Best Change and so on
You can also check this thread out https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5228629.msg53916917#msg53916917 for good projects to invest in - courtesy of one of the experienced members of this forum.
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you involved with Crypto? on: March 03, 2020, 10:52:07 PM
Aside from monetary incentives in crypto, I rarely come across discussions pertaining to why the average enthusiast in crypto is involved with crypto. While the answer may be pretty straightforward, there are some outliers.

Crypto means much more than just monetary incentives, it's essentially a technical revolution that has involved the masses, something you and I can be apart of. Ultimately, that's probably one of my greatest interests for blockchain and crypto. Another big intrigue for me is the evolution of blockchain tech in itself. I've been around for quite sometime and have witnessed the evolution of cryptos, businesses, behaviors and attitudes.

These 2 factors, along with several others, are the reasons I continue to be involved on a community and business level with crypto. It's become a hobby, passion and business for me.

Change is inevitable in life.  More than 300 years ago, in some parts of the world they used cowries as a means of exchange, from there it graduated to trade by barter.  Technology is changing everyday and one needs to keep abreast of these changes or else one may not be able to survive it.
Aside monetary gain, blockchain technology is gaining a lot of ground in different sector, as an educated person, I can't just sit and watch while people are embracing this fantastic technology.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't hate long term promotions on: March 02, 2020, 09:27:16 AM
I'm here to talk about bounties with long duration, I know we all have our experience with short term bounties and long term bounties but I have come to understand that it doesn't matter, here is my own experience
Last year I promoted E3T bounty project for 4weeks duration and I earned 30$
In 2018 I promoted Airwallet for more than 14 weeks and I earned over a thousand dollar

Durations doesn't matter, small duration bounties can pay high rewards and long duration bounties can pay worse rewards, it's all vice versa, what matters is the quality of the project you promote

Your opinion about short and long term bounties are well respected, however, this thing is like a dice facing different people with different sides or number. To me personally, I don't like long term bounties, because the probability that long term or short term bounties would be successful is 0.5.  The bounty campaign of Mycros last year lasted more than a year, though I don't know how hunters earned from it finally because I later back off.  That's extremely too long for crying out loud. I just prefer bounties of 1-12 weeks max, because I can't just waste my time and other resources on uncertainties.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCNEX - "SCAM" Withdrawals are no longer available. on: February 29, 2020, 04:22:33 PM
BCNEX exchange has really turn scam now. I had only 184 tokens from the bounty, 80% of it was unlocked after like 4 months. I decided to exchange it to ETH and withdraw it.  It's getting close to two months now when I have initiated withdrawal on bcnex exchange, I have not received any ETH in my wallet. I complained on their telegram, they said I should open support tickets, I have opened two now, I have not seen anything. A scammer even impersonated the admin and asked me to send 0.05BTC if I want my transaction to be fast.
I think bcnex just want to gather some dollars through failed withdrawals and disappear.  This is what users of that exchange are experiencing now, I'm a victim too.
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am fed up with scammers and newbies. on: February 29, 2020, 02:52:07 PM
Last week, I found an airdrop project in Telegram called Marco Protocol, the airdrop looked decent at the first stage, I earned 200 MAPC tokens and that was instant! But you only can withdraw from your MAP wallet when Airdrop program will end, that's good, I am okay with it. Their airdrop tweet got 8K retweet and 9K likes, so, you can understand how hype it had!
But yesterday, they announced they are going to sell Bitcoin at a 50% discount to celebrate the halving. Can you imagine? 1 Bitcoin price is 8600 USD, people can buy by 4300$! I believe This is absolutely scam but many newbies already have fallen for that! As they saw MAPC has huge support in twitter, and they listed on CMC too.

50% off announcement: https://t.me/MAP_POB_channel/87

I'm not really surprise anymore about those pranks and unnecessary hypes some shit airdrops or project gets.  Scammers are just everyone and I guess everyone is dam tired too.  Just 3 days ago I complained on the telegram of BCNEX exchange that I withdrew ETH but for over a month now I have not received it in my wallet.   I have opened two support tickets but all to no avail.  Several people also complained of the same thing on the telegram.  Just a couple of minutes later, a scammer impersonating the admin private message me and said if I want my transaction to be fast I need to send a processing fee of 0.05BTC to one wallet address he is going to generate, he now told me the fee is refundable.  I quickly blocked him on my telegram.  Several newbies have fallen victims of these people.
Newbies must be very careful, learn from this platform before taking any step because scammers are just all over.
354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: list top 10 exchange in the market on: February 24, 2020, 03:51:09 PM
I may not be able to list up to 10 anyway because I want to be practical, I will only list those I've traded with or experienced in one way or the other.
1. Binance
2. Coinbase
3. Bittrex
4. Bitfinex
5. Huobi
6. Bitmex
     .........
I think we should mention worst exchanges too, because I have had some horrible experiences with some exchanges.
355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Methods that fraudsters use to scam people on: February 24, 2020, 08:26:53 AM
Yes I so much believe that there are numerous methods devised by scammers in order to defraud innocent people.  I just want to pick on one for now, which creation of coins for airdrops. When these scammers create telegram bot and fake coins as well, they make attempt to airdrop it to numerous people.  At the end of the airdrop, you will be requested to deposit a certain amount of dollars, for example $0.2 aw a withdrawal fees on top of fake coins.  Just imagine where 50k people have participated, multiply $0.2 with even half of the participants ($5000). Just using that as an example, there are many cases where those scammers raked in thousands of dollars before disappearing.  Be careful of airdrops that requested for withdrawal fees on telegram bot.  The possibility of being scammers is very high.
356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this Right Time to buy Some ALT coins? on: February 23, 2020, 06:54:41 PM
To me there is no right or wrong time to buy altcoins, it depends on your purpose of buying. Are you buying for short or long term?. If you're buying for a short term, then you can buy at any time, however if you're buying for long term, you can target when the price will go down relatively before buying.
357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone still earning with bounties? on: February 22, 2020, 09:05:47 PM
Honestly I have had some horrible experience participating in numerous bounties nowadays, to the extent that I decided that I wanted to take a break off bounties for some time.  However, there are still few paying bounties where good earnings can still be made, just that someone need to make some research before finding such bounties.
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty hunters respect yourself, please! on: February 22, 2020, 10:44:18 AM
I am very frustrated by seeing some bounty project and their rewards! Recently Hydax, Earnbets, Hitmex bounty launched, I saw many people ate doing their signature even some high ranked people too. But their rewards are like 2-3K USD for all category bounties for 4-8-12 weeks bounty! Do you guys read those project's whitepaper especially the Hitmex whitepaper? Please spend some time to research before supporting a campaign. You guys are the reason for low rewards campaigns. If you ignore those, low rewards campaign are coming continuously in this year. Please try to understand the fact and do only good project's bounty that has good allocation/respect for hunters!

I am so much in support of your opinion, it is  a very insightful one.  However, bounty hunters cannot be completely blamed.  Many are just struggling to make a living so it's some how difficult to take a deep research or wait till the arrival of good paying projects. I used to do away with a low paying bounties because I see it as waste of my precious time and other resources.  Surprisingly, even when that good project surface, many bounty managers that were once bounty hunters or are still hunting see bounty hunters as BEGGARS. This is very disheartening I must say.
359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment Advice for year 2020 on: February 22, 2020, 06:08:26 AM
Year 2020 is the year that has been projected by many crypto analysts as a likely bull run year, though many shitcoins continue to flood the market. My candis advice is just that, investment must be embarked upon carefully by thorough study of the concept, product and the idea behind the project.  Likewise, don't put your whole eggs in just one basket.  That's, spread your risk across more than one coin investment.  It is also good if you invest on those coins that are already established in the market such as BTC, ETH XLM and so on.
360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Keep your assets safe as the Bull run draws nearer on: February 21, 2020, 07:29:28 PM
Honestly I have been patiently expecting another bull run in the crypto market, because the experience of 2017 bull run is still fresh in my memory.  Although this is what most people have been expecting too. There have been diverse reports from crypto market analysts about this. However, I don't see this bull run coming soon at all. I am not a pessimist though, just saying my observation.  Notwithstanding, I still have some pretty good assets I'm holding should bull run come any time.
