I remember last year during the alt boom in spring/summer 2013, coins would go for weeks without being added to an exchange.  It was always such a huge risk, you could mine for weeks and your coin never hits cryptsy.  Maybe there was a reason for that.  We can avoid situations like this, and broken shit coin debacles like NJA on bittrex.  I do feel for halibit though, poor guy just trying to kick off alcurex with some new coins to promote interest.

Maybe there is a reason why many people don't take it lightly to restart blockchains. It just puts a bad light on the altcoin community. I think it is an advantage if exchanges can afford to pick up fresh and promising altcoins. Most importantly, it is an advantage for a new altcoin itself if there is an exchange and other infrastructure. This gets people interested, and lets the coin grow. No reasonable man would punch right in the face of the exchange operator by doing a technically completely unnecessary blockchain restart, stating that it's ok to scam the shit out of them because he didn't allow exchanges.

It would be a pity if one rotten orange spoiled the whole altcoin box, and we would get to a situation where exchange operators are too scared to pick up new coins.

I do remember a few pages back the dev clearly stating restarting the blockchain is a possibility.  There is a reason this is only version 0.0.0.3.

It still doesn't explain why a blockchain restart is being done for a small fix. There may be changes where it's really hard to do them without a restart, but the PoW hash thing is far from such a situation. Which leaves us with the question how we should ever trust anything to the blockchain. Who knows if the dev will do another blockchain restart with an even bigger and swankier pre-mine, just in order to unlock the next advertised feature? And what if small bugs occur later on? In my opinion, these are the situations where it becomes obvious if an altcoin has a capable dev team, and is willing to put this potential to the advantage of the community. And unfortunately, NUD failed on this.

I do like this coin and this dev though.  Some may think he is a prick, but he is no nonsense.  Builds his coin, his way, straight up no bullshit.  First time in ages I have actually felt like a dev isn't lying through his teeth to me.  For that fact alone, you have earned the piddly little 0.05 BTC I just sent to the donation address.

Bear with me, but are you getting paid for stating something like this? Advertising bcrypt was untrue. Now he changed the situation to bcrypt being actually there, and the 0% pre-mine becomes a lie. What next?

Don't get me wrong. I am completely fed up with all the coingen crap the altcoin community gets flooded with, so this one seemed like a refreshing ray of hope. But a (crypto-)currency is always a community thing, and you cannot do things "your way" without building up a community, which involves respecting their motivations rather than kicking their asses. People are generally willing to put some dedication into a promising project. People brought in testing/reviewing workforce. People brought in mining power. People brought in the recognition by an exchange. All they expected was that they get the usual predictability which a blockchain cryptosystem brings. And the dev took exactly this and showed the community that he cares shit about them.

He never asked for NUD to be added to an exchange.  He never promoted it or said it was ready for an exchange.  The possibility of a blockchain restart was warned and looming.  It is not his job to worry about what exchanges do, he is focused on developing the coin, as it should be.  Why should the direction of his coin be dependent on decisions of others?  I feel for halibat, but his decision to add NUD to alcurex before it was ready should have ZERO weight on the dev's decisions.

He could restart the blockchain again if need be.  This is all beta, nothing is guaranteed.

He saw the coin distribution, didn't like the fact that people have been able to rape it with a single gridseed blade (guilty party here!) for days now, and decided to start over.  He didn't have to give all the scrypt miners shit.

If he listened to the drooling masses around here, he would have hard forked it into an x13 PoS coin with all 21 million mined in a week.

Now someone who knows the technical aspects would need to jump in here, but my understanding is the dev was unaware scrypt worked when he launched the coin because scrypt blocks were only accepted through stratum mining, but were all rejected locally.  I remember something about "scrypt wrapped in bcrypt container" or the other way around.  Whatever that means.  Basically the dev made a mistake when the coin was launched, so he fixed it.  People are reporting they are receiving the 1:10 coins back already, mine haven't shown up yet but I have no doubt they will.  He has given no indication this was all his grand plan to secretly mine loads of the stuff.  If that was his intention, why bother with the 1:10 ratio?  Why not keep all his coins and let everyone else keep theirs so they will be happy campers and vote 20 times a day on mintpal so they could dump?
343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RZR] Razor - Cutting Edge of Technology ☆[TOR Anon]☆ [No Premine] [Scrypt] on: June 18, 2014, 11:27:46 PM
I see nothing wrong with scyrpt, rather mine a coin where we are all on a level playing field rather than competing against secret FPGA farms.  I am curious if the anonymity implementation begins and ends at routing traffic through TOR, or if their are future plans to improve the anonymity further.

We do have many new things in store along with improving the functionality of the anon system. The team decided to currently not give announcements of announcements to keep the market stable. If plans change, we do not want people waiting on a feature for months.

Keeping RZR in TOR means we took an extra level of security and anonymity and built it into the core system. Exposing your IP and what happens is in every other coin. Your ISP and every node you touch knows just what happened. TOR changes the game.

I do see your point about "announcements of announcements", just gives pump and dumpers a reason to pump a coin, then the price ends up dumping back down long before the announced featured is released (if it is released).  On the flipside, while this keeps the market stable, it keeps the market stable at a LOW price.  While TOR implementation is a great start, it isn't enough to make it stand out from the crowd.  Then again, if you did release a whitepaper today on the planned improvements to the functionality of the anonymity system, the FUD brigade would surely march in to do their best to rip it to pieces and explain why their anon coin is WAY better.  So I guess you are damned if you do, damned if ya don't!

Since you are not going to reveal the secret sauce you are working on, best way to quell investors fears is to simply be present.  A dev that takes time out once a day to answer questions in their thread and makes it known, "hey, I am still here, doing stuff, didn't dump my coins and run off on you guys!" can go a long way.  So far you have done that.

The website could sure use a bit of sprucing up, nothing but a logo and links to nothing.  Little things like that can make all the difference in attracting investors to your coin!

Yes there are many catch-22 issues with announcements. Even this one had a couple hiccups which we fixed. Our team is quite busy on many different aspects that do include improvements on what other coins are barely getting out today. The web dev is a bit behind due to other projects, and that should be coming up soon.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. Crypto is still in the infant stage and we intend to push the limits and give a new standard in quality and functionality not quite currently available.

I sure hope so, because I've been renting rigs like crazy and building up a nice stack!

I just tweeted bittrex, it looks like the cat is out of the bag anyway, some guy just popped up on the pool with 2 GHs!

I don't plan on selling any coins so soon, curious what you have got in store for us, but exchanges = exposure, and exposure allows more miners to get in while the block rewards are high and builds the community.

So everyone needs to tweet bittrex!

Putting Anon in the title when you have no mixing for transactions is a little hypocritical. Whats the point of Tor without mixing tech? People can track you through the blockchain.

Well, the dev has said he has other things in the works.  TOR is just the start.  But many coins have stuff "in the works" so take it for what it is.

348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PEV] PlusEVCoin - crypto-currency of poker | *ON CoinNext EXCHANGE NOW* on: June 18, 2014, 02:19:40 PM
Do you have plans for a fiat/PEV exchange?  Do you have large financial backers who can ensure the coin liquidity and stability? No?  Then I assume this will go nowhere just like the half dozen other poker alts I have seen die in the past year.
There are obviously plans for getting onto exchanges that offer buying/selling straight to fiat, but this will still be a bit inconvenient for most poker players to use. The idea is to get enough of poker players interested that there will be live trades going on (when poker players meet for live poker tournaments / poker festivals) - same as was Bitcoin in the begining.

If poker players wanted to make live trades with crypto, why wouldn't they just use BTC?

stuck on 5025 block,, also a lot of mined coins by scrypt not confirmed....

Dev,, pls fix up. thank you.

Coin is fine, scrypt doesn't work anymore, CPU mine through the wallet and help get the blockchain moving again.

Our Original Source-Miningpool is made only to mine BlueChip X13 and to find maximum blocks. The other mining-pools on the list seem to have just normal standard-settings and has not done proper adjustments to find BlueChip X13 blocks, which concerns us because we are supposed to have 9 million coins mined now, but only 3,8 million coins has been found, and we are running out of PoW-blocks.

Please point your miners back to the Source-pool while the other pools re-adjust their settings, or we might just end up with 4-5 million coins in total and not 15 million as planned.

Donīt like to see good blocks go to waste.

All you need is your BlueChip address as username and X as password - no login required - no password to remember.

Literally every post you make, everything you say or do, is like screaming "I AM A SCAM AND I AM DOING SOME REALLY SHADY SHIT RIGHT NOW!".

I wouldn't ditch your CASH just yet.  The price is low now, but if it is ever revived, well the block reward decreases exponentially as the difficult rises.  What do you think will happen to the difficulty and block reward when an army of scrypt ASICs gets pointed at it?

Good luck with the panic sell

That was silly!

Stupid pump & dumpers  Undecided

Well, how about you REMOVE THE FAKED PIC FROM YOUR TWITTER FEED?  It would make one think you were participating in the pump and dump.......

Wallet will not launch on Win 7 x64 even with libwinpthread-1.dll placed in folder. Throws 0x000007b error... replacing the 5 DLLs noted in that errors fix didn't do anything to help.

Someone who knows how mind compiling this for Win64?

Weird, I'm on Win 7 x64, and it works for me.  My problem is I can't stay connected to any nodes for more than 2 minutes, even the clearweb ones.

Just by sheer coincidence, the only wallet that for some mysterious reason won't upload, is the wallet for the operating system the vast majority of users are running.  And our genius dev who has figured out a new cutting edge anonymity system can't figure out how to use mega.

Now I'm guessing that by the time we get the wallet, the only anonymity it in will be that it routes through TOR.  In a couple days you'll release a whitepaper with some vague description of the anonymity protocol that is coming soon in revision 2.

Retards see "anonymous" and an edgy (quite literally) name and logo and go nuts.  You and your buddies dump 10s of thousands of insta-mined coins.  You disappear and the coin is abandoned within a month.

Am I on the right track?

Ah, I see.  It looks like Brian Kelly has turned himself into an alt-coin pumper.  Saw something he posted about htmlcoin taking over the technology sector, blah blah blah, ridiculous nonsense.  Doesn't that dude already have enough money?  He needs to run pump and dumps now?

Anyway, you say you aren't making any announcements because you want to avoid the cycle of pump and dumps.  The Twitterverse is blowing up about BCH right now and they are obviously pumping.  They need no reason to pump and dump, but I need a reason to hold, so far I see none.
