701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest $10,000 into Quark or Dogecoin? on: January 01, 2014, 08:03:29 PM
OMG, sorry, I just can't, my brain hurts, $10,000 into DOGE?!?!  DOGE?  Really? Really?!?!?!  The fact that there are people in this world who are willing to put $10,000 into DOGE, well sir you have shaken me to the very core.  I don't know what to believe anymore.  I am living in a topsy-turvy bizarro land, black is white, up is down, good is evil.  There is no God, only DOGE now.

On a more serious note, HOW LONG DO YOU THINK A MEME COIN SPAWNED FROM 4CHAN IS GOING TO LAST?  HOW LONG DOES ANY STUPID INTERNET MEME LAST?  If you are still considering investing in DOGE, please do yourself a favor and give a loved one power of attorney simply so they can take over managing your finances before you bankrupt yourself.  Your mom loves you, I promise she will bear that burden if you ask her to.
702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest $10,000 into Quark or Dogecoin? on: January 01, 2014, 07:47:41 PM
Jesus Christ, I didn't even read the last 9 pages, I just saw the title and jumped right here.  I simply cannot fathom the thought of investing $10,000 into QRK, let alone DOGE?!?!?!  Are you high or just dead set on losing that $10,000?  If you want, send the $10,000 to me and I will burn it for you.

Seriously, just take your $10,000 and buy BTC.  Sit on it for a year and thank me when you look back and see QRK and DOGE dumped and forgotten.
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [FZ] Frozen | CPU and GPU | NoPremine | Rare | Fast Transactions | Wallet Update on: January 01, 2014, 03:09:33 PM
what is with this wallet not wanting to sync?  yet another person here stuck at "no block source available".  lots of nodes added, my .conf is named frozen.conf in appdata, nothing.
704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Velocitycoin Pools, Explorers, Giveaways, Escrow, Trade on: January 01, 2014, 09:13:57 AM
Same problem, my hashrate somehow dropped by 25%, what's the matter?

N change, scrypt jane coins become less efficient to GPU mine over time, it is normal.
705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Proof Of Stake Coins are killing this community on: December 30, 2013, 04:44:42 PM
Yes, totally agree!  PoS is what's killing alts!  If only the 300 worthless shitcoin clones released this week were pure PoW as God intended instead of flirting with that filthy, dirty, whore PoS, DOGE would have rightfully overtaken BTC by now!
706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Velocitycoin- Live and Download Now on: December 29, 2013, 11:50:46 PM
Scrypt-jane runs your cards cooler than scrypt, it's normal.  Sucks if you are dependent on your cards as a space heater right now but nice on the power bill.
707  Other / Archival / Re: [VSC]Visacoin:Born for circulation--based on BTC-Gold--Project start!!! on: December 29, 2013, 02:00:55 PM
Rename it, rename it, rename it, for god sake's rename it!  I am not exactly sure what your end game with this coin is (if you are not a scammer and actually have an endgame beyond steal as much BTC as possible in the next 3 months) but if it ever involves this coin being used as payment to online businesses, NO ONE will accept it because they will have VISA, ya know, as in VISA CARD up their ass.  Seriously, do you think Apple would ever allow a Visacoin app in the app store?  Welp, ya just shut out ipad and iphone users from your potential userbase over a silly name you were too stubborn to change.  Even if there was the slightest possibility of the name causing an issue in the future, why invite that potential complication in the future?

And really it is just a shit marketing move in the first place.  We all know about VISA cards, they are used by millions across the world everyday for years now.  Give it a name that sparks the interest of the general population, let's them know this is something new they have never seen before.  When someone hears the word "bitcoin" for the first time, invariably their response is "what's that?".  It is new, it is fresh, it gets them interested.  If I heard "visacoin" for the first time outside this forum, I'd assume it was some dopey marketing ploy by VISA to get me to give them more money and not even bother finding out what it was.

Seriously, name change, white paper, and I'll flick some BTC towards this thing and see what happens.
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][TIPS] FedoraCoin - Euphoria - Enlightenment - Intelligence on: December 24, 2013, 02:59:28 PM
When in the hell does the difficulty readjust?  Announcement says every 10 minutes but that can't be the case seeing as we have been at 35+ all night and seeing a steadily decreasing hash rate on the network, blocks averaging over 4 minutes now.

I'm having trouble with bter as well,  withdraws are not working.  Customer support used to be very responsive but I am getting nothing back from emails as well.  I remember a forum member named freeworm was doing support for them at one point, gonna give that a shot.  I have even tried downloading the QQ messenger and getting in touch with support that way, but everyone is offline.  Very frustrating.

Made a trade with derm for 10k GRC for a total of 0.9 BTC.  All went smoothly.  Please keep my previous offer posted in the google doc.  Thx.

Ok, I'm willing to meet in the middle and drop my sell down.  10K GRC for 0.1 BTC per 1K for a total of 1 BTC.
713  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: December 16, 2013, 11:59:10 PM
Now I haven't always been the biggest Cryptsy fan, the bugs and glitches at times were enough to make my blood boil.  When you stop and think about it though, anyone heavily involved in the alt-scene should be on their knees thanking Big Vern.  The alt-scene simply would not be what it is today without Cryptsy (for better or for worse).

The only people who have room to complain about "Cryptsy costing them money" are newbies who just jumped into the scene with this recent rise.  If you are a GPU miner and/or got into the alt-scene last spring, Cryptsy almost certainly made you WAY more coin than it ever cost you.

I owe Cryptsy for allowing me to vastly improve my financial situation and life over the past 6 months with just 7 7950s.  I am forever grateful for Cryptsy.

So thanks for ruining it for the rest of us OP just because you are pissy about 63 BTC that'll eventually go right back up in value again anyway.
714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinedup OpenID bug! - coins stolen on: December 16, 2013, 12:41:58 AM
You sent .5 BTC there to buy dogecoin.  You were losing that .5 BTC either way.

Put me down for selling 10k @ 0.2BTC per 1K GRC
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LOT / BTC Google Docs Exchange on: December 13, 2013, 10:36:08 AM
trade went smooth as can be, thanks!
717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LOT / BTC Google Docs Exchange on: December 13, 2013, 08:35:13 AM
Selling all 500k to evoked22 for 0.13 BTC total so take my name off the doc.  Just wanted to make it a matter of record before we exchange with each other.
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Quark and Bitcoin on: December 13, 2013, 07:07:53 AM
1. Quark is 20 times faster at confirmation compared to Bitcoin

Bitcoin is already nearly instant in any situation where it matters because IF (and that is a big if) you can ever use your BTC at Starbucks or a gas station for a smallish purchase, the odds of a double spend attack on a relatively small transaction is nil and businesses can accept them with zero confirms.  Plus, the technology to have off chain transactions exists, it is just currently not implemented.

2. Quark is more secure because it has 9 rounds of hashing from 6 hashing functions, rather than a single Hash function.

It's not.  Anything past one hash function suffers from diminishing returns on many orders of magnitude.  A large, strong, and widespread network will do far more for security than extra hash functions.

3. 10 times more Quarks are available compared to bitcoins. .i.e. 247 million quarks.

Who gives a shit?  Move the decimal place, it's all the same.

4. Quarks cant be mined with ASIC or any special hardwares but with CPU only. This gives the power back to PEOPLE not big companies.

A small group of speculators and con artists hold as much quark as will be mined in the next 247 years.  How do you not see the glaringly obvious coincidence that Bill Still and Max Keiser all of a sudden decided QRK was the second coming of Christ the split second after those first 247 million were mined?

Your grandma will not mine any quark on her laptop, because there is comparatively none left to mine.  On top of that, it is a CPU coin, so it is only giving power to the people if you count the fact that people who don't even know what QRK is will be mining it for botnets.

Now I say all this with admittedly a sense of sour grapes, of course I wish I hadn't been so short-sighted and grabbed up a million QRK for peanuts (so I can dump it now), but I don't see how anyone who has 2 neurons to rub together and has been involved in crypto for more than a week can't see the scam staring them in the face.
719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LOT / BTC Google Docs Exchange on: December 13, 2013, 04:12:56 AM
Yeah, I just switched to solo as well.  Well since you are doing the work I may as well throw my sell out there, 10K lot for 0.005 BTC.  Got 500k for sale right now.
720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: QRK prediction ? on: December 13, 2013, 04:05:59 AM
If QRK ever exceeds LTC price, I will do a live stream of myself cutting off, deep frying, and eating my own dick.
