Many people didn’t even know that DigiByte existed until the price of it suddenly shot up, the same as it was with bitcoin. When this happened to bitcoin it happened in a big way and caused millions of dollars to be invested into it. Many of the people that invested this money have never seen a return on it and they still won’t unless eventually bitcoin and crypto win what I believe is its rightful position in our world. DigiByte is a solid investment and has fantastic potential, perhaps even greater than bitcoin itself but it is every bit as threatening to the banking sector as bitcoin is. Dollars and other fiat currencies  are made up and the existing financial mechanism can keep making them up, buy crypto with it and selling it for less than they paid for it. This will hold down the value of crypto and they will continue to get away with it until people wake up and understand just how made up money really is!

so it is the last thing people should want to swap their crypto for really....
Agreed a pump usually puts a coin on the map, or at least in the crypto world. The dumps can be nasty, but it's usually to collect more coins at a lower price rather than to exit completely.
There is plenty of work going on with DigiByte and while this continues the coins future is bright.
Unfortunately, the P&D's will continue until the coin has more value or demand.
It's just part of Crypto.

And IMHO it's ok to buy low and sell high, even if you are a long term supporter. Selling High gives you more opportunity to buy more DGB if/when it falls again.

Hey Guys,

Just a heads up!

I've included DigiByte Gaming in my latest Youtube Channel https://youtu.be/R24TC1zxp0c. Hopefully, it'll get the DigiByte name out to a few more peeps. :-D

Youtube Optimization

While I'm at it, here are a few optimization tips for the video production crew.

1. Use the Description field to promote Digibyte and related keywords and don't forget to link back to the main website.
(see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Um63OQz3bjo for a good example of a description)

2. Edit the Closed Captions (CC). By default, Google tries to work out what you are saying and put's this into the CC section of the video. It also uses these words for Search Engine Optimization so you want to make sure it's correct.

For instance when you say "Digibyte", google interprets this as "Did You Buy" so you might like to fix this up.

Otherwise Awesome Job. Keep them coming. :-D

**DIGIBYTYE COMMUNITY - CALL TO ACTION**

Hey guys and gals, I think you'll all agree that the DigiByte Reports on Youtube are awesome but I've noticed they have very few comments. Why?

We can all profit if this alt-coin goes well, but it'll need your support. Yes, you need to take action and something as simple as a comment or hitting subscribe in Youtube goes a long way to helping the promotion of this coin. Let me explain how this works.

Here are a few types of engagement signals that Youtube uses to decide what to promote and what not to.

Time in video - Yes, the longer someone watches a video, the higher their engagement score will be

Comments - Comments are another signal of engagement

Subscribe - If people love it they'll subscribe. Engagement up

Thumbs up - Yes, this also helps to signal it's a quality video

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

1. Subscribe to the Digibyte Youtube channel and ask others to do the same (create another gmail account if you are concerned about privacy)

2. When a video is released - Watch the video or at least the first few minutes to register a view.

3. Comment and/or provide useful feedback.

4. Hit the thumbs up.

*** Do this each week ***

ADS - This channel has ads, don't skip them as this provides revenue and I'd expect this to be supporting the gaming channel or giveaways. (watching about 30 secs is all that's needed to get a Cha Ching! for the channel owner)

Everyone can contribute in some meaningful way, and it sometimes only takes a little of your time.

Thank-you for listening. Let's make this happen!

Could you please use the DigiByte twitter: https://twitter.com/DigiByteCoin for official news and articles only? I don't follow it anymore because of the "giveaway retweet" spam. I get your enthusiasm but it really annoys me :/

Hi dotabeard.  I understand your point.  It is something that I've struggled with regarding the DigiByte Group accounts.  I've always tried to be respectful of peoples' time and not inundate them with spam.  However, I can understand why DGB would use the official account to retweet promotion and outreach.  It's a fine line to walk.  We want to promote DGB.  "We" means all of us.  But, "we" also specifically means those of us who organize giveaways, outreach, etc..

I feel like we are moving toward a larger userbase and audience for DGB.  We're working toward getting new merchants, new gamers, new traders, new users.  And part of that process is public outreach.  Public outreach has an aspect that is simply getting the word out (to any and everyone).

I think you make a reasonable point.  We want people to associate DGB with the great services, and opportunities, and rewards.  We don't want them to associate DGB with junk spam messages.  So, the underlying question that wee need to ask is a simple question: "do the recent developments and underlying values of the multiple services and benefits of the DGB protocol balance justify the outreach?"  I think the answer is yes.

Cheers,

Eric

P.S.  hope you don't think my next post is spam.

Twitter allows you to create multiple accounts. Just create another account DigibytePromotions or similar and SPAM away. And occasionally promote this new channel using the main account. Problem solved.

The question at hand is: how do we get more people buying?

I think the real question is, how do we create more reasons for people to buy.

Hey, sorry if I'm late to the Facebook Advertising Campaign. IMHO you should target the peeps that already do Crypto or money transfers.

For instance can you select keywords like Bitcoin, DOGECOIN, Western Union, Travelex, MoneyGram, etc in the advertising campaign? These people are already qualified prospects, because they already send money.

The key is to attract them to using DigiByte instead.

Sending money back to families in poorer countries, for near zero fees is a massive untapped market. Can we tap it?

Just my 2 cents

like I said, there is middle ground here. Only a fool is going to spend all of their DGB now!  Wink
And only a fool doesn't spend their DGB and then buy more to replace it.

If you were going to spend cash and there is a digibyte option then use digibytye, then use that cash to buy more didgbyte. If you purchase more digibyte at the same time as spending it, you won't be caught with price fluctuations.

It's a trading coin, not a hoarding one. You will make a lot more money this way.

We discussed this, the problem for many is converting their fiat quick enough. Then you have to acquire enough DGB at the right price for whatever you are buying so really you need to do this first. I am not going to spend DGB I mined when it cost me more to mine than I can exchange it for on the market, no serious miner will. Did you read any of the other posts regarding this?

Errr, yes and I hear the same thing over and over.

So the root cause is: a fast fiat -> DGB exchange, so we are getting somewhere, and that needs to be addressed before the serious roll out of merchants.

It'll be hard enough to sell the idea to the merchants in the first place, but when this happens it'll be nice if people have the spend mentality rather than the horde mentality like all the other failed coins.

The BTC Pizza Purchase is an important lesson. Everyone harps on about how much money that guy could have made if he kept the coins, but they missed the point. If he didn't do it, then he hasn't proven the concept and perhaps it doesn't take off.

With 20-20 hindsight, when you spend $25 worth of DGB on a pizza be smart and buy back $25 worth of DGB, and then you won't have any regrets. That's all I'm saying.

But the take home message is 'we' need to spend the $25 on a 'pizza', if this coin is going places.

wow this is great news @ ShapeShift.io .......... Grin Shocked Shocked

That is pretty big news Smiley
I rarely buy on Amazon and definitely not going to spend my DGB's at current prices but I do appreciate the vote of confidence.

Thumbs up to Jumbley for the DigiByte Knights meme - Love it Smiley
Now if only I could figure out how to use this as my avatar... suits me like a glove.

Totally the wrong attitude. Spend your Digibyte instead of cash as that's the thing that'll make it more popular. But as you say you rarely buy at Amazon anyway.

It's the mindshift that's important, spend digibyte and buy more, or buy more then spend.

Hoarding coins won't make you rich, but spending them (and re stocking) will get you to the moon faster.

So, let me get this right. I've got gold from around $200 an ounce and I should sell now at $1200 in the interest of making gold ownership more widespread?

What makes something more widespread is when people buy it on a widespread basis at whatever price it's at, regardless.

Am I to play good Samaritan selling in order to help someone else out? I think giving some of your profits to Doctors Without Borders would be much more interesting.

You are a senior person in this community and I respect that. Digibyte is angling for a merchant solution, I am just being devils advocate to remind everyone that if there aren't sellers then there aren't buyers. 200 BTC trading on Cryptsy is impressive and has likely attracted a lot of people who are in it for just profit.

Giving your wealth to charities is commendable, perhaps establish a DGB fund for your charity now and get a news article out of it. What if Doctors without borders were also giving DGB out to their patients.

Anyway it's a great community and I wish you well.

Holding is great way to increase the price but be careful you don't end up with the wrong mindset. This coin is about merchants and trading, if everyone just holds because they expect another 10% gain, then another 20% and so on, you won't have the liquidity in the market for the merchants.

Promote spending habits early, don't encourage hoarding because it'll have negative affects on the coin in the future. And no I'm not suggesting dumping to lower the price I'm saying be ready to spend those coins when the time comes, regardless of the price and future predictions.

Remember the 10,000 BTC pizza? Back then it was just a $25 purchase. Are you prepared to spend 100K DGB on a pizza? If not it's going to be a long road ahead.

Don't encourage hoarding, encourage distribution.

Great ideas guys, but I could make your life simpler by introducing you to the tipbot - zetatip.com

Load it up and find some influential tweeters in Africa and send them some coin via twitter. Reaching out to people with social influence will ensure you get more bang for your buck.

Meanwhile work still goes on with zetacoin...

BTW: Have a look at zetacoin.com for any latest announcements

You guys... Its been a while since I visited this site and you crack me up. Lol

Zetacoin price still steady - so what do you make of that?

It's like Zetacoin isn't the tallest building in a city of skyscrapers but as the skyscrapers begin to crumble, whats left is a Zetacoin building built on strong foundations.

I give thanks to the current Dev Team who are still active on the coin.

I ask you this, do we need to add a few more floors or just wait until we are the tallest by default?

Nice MOC, Juan. I was thinking of creating an Asic miner out of Lego but I need more black. Considering we don't have a bitcoin centre its unique. Wink I'll see what I can come up with.

Does anyone know if a supernode can be installed on a regular computer or if it is better to have a dedicated computer for it?

Have you checked out the wiki?
http://www.zetacoinwiki.org/index.php/Nodes_and_Supernodes

Looks like it can be low resource intensive

Isn't the transaction fee for zeta supposed to be 0.001 ?
