I've been borderline for years and have kept it under control with exercise and my diet has always been steak, potato and salad based which I guess is no longer what is considered a death sentence. But with the covid shit quarantine I have slacked on exercise and gone up from 30 to 34 waist in the last year (actually I am having to squeeze in 34 now so its either get this shit under control or goto 36. I'm pretty tired most of the time now and guess i'm just at the age that time has caught up with me.  I pulled the bicycle out the other day and only made it half the distance I was doing pre covid so i'm not pleased with that result but I'm going to keep up and do my best this summer to get the spare tire under control but if I can't by fall then its gonna be fuck it. They have me on tons of pills for other shit for the last 22 years and I've watched my mental capacities decline markedly as well as the physical. So I'm basically figuring this is my last push to stay healthy if I fail i'll just call it a day and eak out my last few decades eating whatever the fuck I want and let the chips fall where they may.

The bill regulating the cryptocurrency market in Brazil is expected to be approved by the National Congress in the first half of this year, according to Cointelegraph Brazil.

The legislation, which has been debated in the Chamber of Deputies since 2015, has been approved in the first round of consideration. The Senate has attached it to another crypto-focused bill, which has already been approved by the Economic Affairs Committee of the Senate.

As the crypto industry continues to attract mainstream attention, institutions are looking for ways to get exposure to the emerging asset class. However, too often they run into friction when it comes to transacting, custodying assets, and getting onboarded at exchanges and prime brokers.

A new partnership is looking to change that.

Announced today, FIS, a publicly-traded $62 billion fintech company that offers everything from payments services to wealth management, has joined up with New York-based infrastructure company Fireblocks to provide its more than 6,000 capital markets clients access to a full suite of crypto trading and lending services.

“Globally, we are making it really easy for our client base to procure and take advantage of the Fireblocks platform,” says John Avery, FIS’s Global Product Head for Crypto and Digital Assets.

Starting today, all of FIS’ more than 6,000 capital markets clients will have access to Fireblocks’ offerings, starting with its 1,000+ partners onboarded to its network that allows quick, secure, and cheap transfers across the world 24/7/365.

  

The average Bitcoin investor is a calculating psychopath with an inflated ego, according to scientists.

A team of experts recently surveyed more than 500 people to uncover the personality traits that are most common among crypto nuts.

They identified that many investors exhibit signs of the “dark tetrad”, a group of four unsavory traits made up of narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy and sadism.

In plain English, that means dark tetrads have an inflated sense of self-importance and derive pleasure from the pain of others.

They also find it difficult to empathize with others and are sly and manipulative.

“We studied only a subset of people interested in crypto who do have these traits,” Dr. Wang said.

“If you happen to be a Bitcoin or other crypto holder, you may or may not exhibit them.”

Bank of America strategists reportedly say that a shift in the macroeconomic landscape could be the catalyst that sends the crypto markets to higher prices.

According to Reuters, analysts at the banking giant have sent a new note to clients warning that accelerating inflation and a slowing global economy could spread to US markets.

The analysts say that a deteriorating economy would likely force the Federal Reserve to tighten its monetary policy to control persistent inflation, which could put big sell pressure on equities and traditional assets.

BofA chief investment strategist Michael Hartnett reportedly says,

“‘Inflation shock’ worsening, ‘rates shock’ just beginning, ‘recession shock’ [is] coming.”

Hartnett added that in such a climate, cash, volatility, commodities and crypto could become the most appealing assets to investors, outrunning both equities and the bond market.

Jack Mallers, CEO of Strike, announced at the Bitcoin 2022 Conference in Miami that his company has partnered with Shopify, NCR, and Blackhawk Network. These payment providers work with the majority of major U.S. companies like McDonald’s, Walmart, Walgreens, Home Depot, Best Buy, Chipotle, Starbucks, Whole Foods, and more.

Mallers shared a video of himself making purchases at a grocery store with three different payment methods. By using Zap, Cash App, and Muun Wallet to pay via QR code, Mallers demonstrates how the consumer is able to pay in any method they want through the Lightning network. This enables shoppers to pay with privacy and allows for merchants to save on the 3% fee charged by credit card processors.

With this announcement, Strike now offers a method for people in the U.S. to transact with their Bitcoin that does not require making Bitcoin legal tender. These partnerships allow users to pay for products and services with their Bitcoin over Lightning while the merchant accepts the payment in U.S. dollars. This makes filing taxes much more manageable for both the consumer and merchant.

Bitcoin payments service BitPay has announced immediate support for the Lightning Network through its payment processing platform, allowing merchants that leverage this platform to receive payments from Lightning wallets and enabling more cost-effective, cheaper bitcoin transactions through the Layer 2 protocol.

“BitPay merchants can now receive payments from Lighting-enabled wallets like Cash App and Strike,” per a press release shared with Bitcoin Magazine. “Consumers now have a low-cost alternative when paying with bitcoin at a BitPay-enabled merchant.”

Canadian oil and gas company, Bengal Energy, prepares to launch Bitcoin mining efforts in Australia. The company will be setting up a portable building for the purpose of housing 70 mining rigs as part of its up-and-coming pilot program. These rigs will be close to gas wells that were previously non-functional, per a report from The Australian.

While searching for an alternative solution, the company ultimately decided to start mining Bitcoin using portable buildings, also known as “dongas.”  Each donga setup will include 66 mining machines and will generate around 0.005 BTC a day.
If the mining efforts are successful, Bengal Energy will look to double their Bitcoin mining output by a ratio of 10 to 20, resulting in an estimated income of $2,000 to $5,000 a day.

"Adoption is going to come from people who have fiat in their bank account, and they need to get it into Bitcoin,” Pierre Rochard, Bitcoin product manager at Kraken, told Bitcoin Magazine. “Kraken is providing an excellent venue for them to do that, and then they can top up their mobile Lightning wallet and use it as a medium of exchange. That’s clearly the next step in terms of Bitcoin’s evolution.”
