No-one seemed to care about Bitcoin's transparency when they were buying stuff on the Silk Road... But somehow this is all going to be worth billions of dollars soon Roll Eyes

This.  Read what you said.  Then go to www.reddit.com/r/darknetmarkets and look at all of the hoops they jump through to stay anonymous.  They KNOW that bitcoin is not anonymous, so they TUMBLE every single coin they buy before they use it to make purchases.  Tumbling costs (2-4%) and requires TRUST.  Trust that the tumbler is not going to run off with your coin, and trust that the tumbler is not recording which coins belong to who.

Anonymity is THE FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEM with bitcoin.  Small little Darkcoin, with only 4 million marketcap (even after the jump today) has SOLVED the anonymity problem.  This is why there are so many believers, because we have a deeper understanding of the flaws of crypto.  You seem to think we are all just trying to pump for no reason.  Nobody here is pumping shit... we are placing value based on the TRUE FUNDAMENTAL step forward that darkcoin represents.

So after the 10 DRK darksend limit is removed, to gain maximum privacy, I should create a completely new empty wallet on another computer, and darksend all coins from the original wallet to the new one?

i think you could probably create a new address in the same wallet.. whos guna know they are in the same wallet?

Yep, I was going to say the same thing.  He can just darksend his whole balance to another address in his wallet.

OK so maybe you tell me, what's changed? Has Darksend been in Beta until now or something??

Yes it was in beta, now it is on the final step before full release.

I can't see the benefit of anonymous payments over the internet unless you are trying to do something illegal.

Would you mind if your bank posted your statements to its website for all to see?

So sad ... 45 days I'm mining DRK .... 45 days I'm believing than DRK in the new standard ... 45 days I'm holding DRK.
Yesterday, I sold my DRK to try to make some BTC on trading this week-end after I see that DRK was losing price until 15 days and buy back DRK.

Just 4h ... yes ... 4h, while I hold for 45 days ! ... so 4h hour later I press the sell button and go to bed, the DRK is doing a +50% !! Sad
I loose 500 DRK in this move ... I'm so sad ! Cry

Life is so unfair sometime !!

If it makes you feel any better, I decided to buy a significant amount of DRK 2 weeks ago, so I set the wheels in motion, sold some stock, withdrew to bank account, purchased on coinbase, and the bitcoin becomes available tomorrow by the end of the day (lol), so I will be buying at this new high price as well :/.  I don't feel too bad though because I somehow managed perfectly time my BTC purchase at that deep dip a few days ago, so my BTC has already appreciated 20% Cheesy

Can somebody explain how I can set up a masternode and when I will get a payment for it? Also, what sort of strain will it put on my system? Thanks!

This post does a good job explaining the masternodes:  https://www.darkcointalk.org/threads/darkcoin-update-masternode-requirements-masternode-payments.225/

Evan said payments for masternodes will be implemented in the next release. Cheesy

Thanks for the answer! Does that mean there is no incentive for people to open up a masternode until the next version?

Yep, but many people are setting up their nodes in preparation for the update and to test the system. They will eventually receive 10% of the block rewards.

Here is a great guide to set one up if you are interested: https://www.darkcointalk.org/threads/how-to-set-up-ec2-t1-micro-ubuntu-for-masternode-part-1-3.240/

Yeah, it might be a bad choice of words to call theres masternodes.
May be it should have a name which does not suggest a hierarchy but reflects the purpose, for example: darknode, mixernode, dsmnode (dark send mixer/maintainer node) or something like that.

Although I don't mind the term "Masternode", I really really like your "Darknode" suggestion.

Why my GPU was always overheating when I mining? Sad Sad

The key is to have an open case with a fan blowing inside.  Risers also help a lot..

Why is no one talking about the fact the CPU miners posted on the front page are riddled with malware???

They're not.  Some wallets can have malware in them, but almost all wallets will come up as having malware in them with certain online virus scanners.  Malwarebytes, one of the most respected malware detection programs, marks wallets as PUPs which means potentially unwanted programs.

Everything Tante said applies to miners as well  Tongue  They are always flagged as malware, even though they are not.

Someone brought this up on reddit and I thought it was worth posting over here.  Any chance we could release a wallet compile for tails?  This is what a lot of the darknet folks use.
