Can someone explain me whats the advantages of DarkCoin on other coins?

I see there is too much talking about having some better kind of anonymity mechanism, but are there any other advantages?

Thanks

EDIT:

You should read the annual statement from the Bitcoin Foundation Chairman.

https://bitcoinfoundation.org/blog/?p=679

It's not that other coins have a lesser anonymity mechanism. They don't have any.  Before you can compare apples with apples, you need to research the basics of the fundamental problem of eCash and alt-coins.

So why should I buy DarkCoins? I'm an investor and I'm looking for coins to put money in, can someone give me some good reasons? I see the DarkCoin growth both in volume and in price so its a strong indicator of something...

Thats why i like the scientific approach:
For 1 Year you keep it close (your data, etc)
After one you share it.

It gives you a head-start to benefit from your work
but also gives everyone the ability to develop further.

So sad ... 45 days I'm mining DRK .... 45 days I'm believing than DRK in the new standard ... 45 days I'm holding DRK.
Yesterday, I sold my DRK to try to make some BTC on trading this week-end after I see that DRK was losing price until 15 days and buy back DRK.

Just 4h ... yes ... 4h, while I hold for 45 days ! ... so 4h hour later I press the sell button and go to bed, the DRK is doing a +50% !! Sad
I loose 500 DRK in this move ... I'm so sad ! Cry

Life is so unfair sometime !!

You had better buy some back quick smart. Once the rest of the world sees it out of beta when they wake up. You will lose out on even more

This is going nowhere but up from here. You wait until masternode payment is done x20+

Agreed, probably new floor will be around 0.0017, it might slowly go down from there a bit, until next release candidate gets out, that one with the masternodes payment feature. Then it will go up crazily, because that feature is something like PoS, then who knows, probably 0.005+. Then with the final open release expect 0.01btc per drk, after that until the expected $250 per coin, it's just a matter of time, it will depend on how quick people really adopt it as a payment method.

I'm trying to work it out too. So far I've been told that this single anonymous crypto is going to allow Chinese people to move money around undetected, and businesses to hide their transactions from competitors, as if they can't already. And hey, maybe you want to hire a hooker and don't want your wife to find out, and cash isn't an option. But even if Darksend works well and people want it, it can still be implemented onto another crypto-currency.  Also the market cap isn't a secret and people can tell when you are putting money in to Darkcoin... No-one seemed to care about Bitcoin's transparency when they were buying stuff on the Silk Road... But somehow this is all going to be worth billions of dollars soon Roll Eyes

Mate. What ever opinion you're looking for, you won't find here. You said you sold your shares before the rise and want people to convince you to buy back. It's currently a speculative asset. I can give a billion dollar valuation, still won't change your mind. The points about "people can tell when you're putting money into the market cap" I have no idea what point you were trying to make there. No one cared about bitcoin's trasperancy because it was the first. Now people know why anonymity matters. It's your money. Do as you please.

This.  Read what you said.  Then go to www.reddit.com/r/darknetmarkets and look at all of the hoops they jump through to stay anonymous.  They KNOW that bitcoin is not anonymous, so they TUMBLE every single coin they buy before they use it to make purchases.  Tumbling costs (2-4%) and requires TRUST.  Trust that the tumbler is not going to run off with your coin, and trust that the tumbler is not recording which coins belong to who.

Anonymity is THE FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEM with bitcoin.  Small little Darkcoin, with only 4 million marketcap (even after the jump today) has SOLVED the anonymity problem.  This is why there are so many believers, because we have a deeper understanding of the flaws of crypto.  You seem to think we are all just trying to pump for no reason.  Nobody here is pumping shit... we are placing value based on the TRUE FUNDAMENTAL step forward that darkcoin represents.

If you add up just those few points you made, you are talking about the movement of $billions each day.

*Most of Bitcoins $300 to $1,200 rise was due to China.
*Business transact $billions each second in global trade, now they can do it from their smart-phones at the cost of pennies, without having to go via a bank.
*The oldest profession in the world is worth $billions each day

Thanks. You made me think of even more $big ones to invest more into DRK  Grin

Not exactly sure what I'm doing wrong, or if it's just taking a while, but the test darksend transaction I sent out apparently hasn't  gone through. Was looking on blockchain explorer and it appears under 'Outputs' flagged as 'Not yet redeemed.' It's been about 45 minutes, the DRK hasn't arrived at it's destination address yet.

It's likely your transaction never made it into the pool, the real limit for DarkSend is 9.99DRK. I just tried to make sure the limit is enforced and it says "DarkSend can't send amounts more than 9.99DRK". The transaction (http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/tx.dws?002052853793ba853f254b68514df5597b7e2dea23c7b2e77d53492f14253667.htm) you posted is actually the inputs for DarkSend, which were never used. Try it again and let me know. Remember though, the pool requires 3 transactions to "post", so send 3 darksends to another wallet.

Alright, I'm convinced. I traded away my Darkcoins before the rise, but fortunately I also have some Potcoins right now so I've sold some of those and can buy back in at no loss  Grin
