So you bought dvc from markm's account with the XLM deposited, correct? None of your own personal dvc has left your wallet, or can you clarify how "I bought some DVC tokens from MarkM's issuer account"?

I am failing to see that anyone other than markm is able to actually sell dvc on Stellar? please correct me if I am wrong and walk me through it otherwise dvc cannot be advertising Stellar as a SELLING platform for dvc.

Fuzzy, I think we can't deposit nor withdraw DVC coins in there, as I understand those are the DVC Tokens, and you can buy and sell them but you can't take them out to your DVC wallet and vice-versa. I don't know if I'm getting it right but that's what I understand about the interstellar network. I have bought and sell some of those tokens but to take them out you have to convert them into LTC or any other coin.

You can contact markm and he will take your DVC tokens at his stellar address and send you blockchain devcoins into your DVC wallet. 1:1 ration of Stellar DVC tokens/DVC. I coordinated with him on the keybase.io chat by direct messaging him at "knotwork" because keybase has a built in wallet for Stellar and its tokens.

Also Stellar is an open network, good place for DVC to move in and out of as it builds up value per each unit. Not about dollars anymore.

Yup I agree this is way too complicated for 99% of users

@realdantreccia How did you deposit dvc into stellar? I can deposit btc etc through the trusted vendors, adding the dvc asset to your homepage can be done easily enough by linking markm's account https://stellar.expert/explorer/public/asset/DVC-GBHAQ252S4Z4AQOM4BWIRC3UHAOJIKCZQBUJGD336YH2O7W2NKRXMHA5

But there is no deposit link against markm account for dve like there is for btc, eth etc.

I get that this is trading a dvc token which represents the dvc, is the solution here to either setup my own amount of dvc tokens like markm has and see if stellar will link the two as being the same or to trade off stellar chain with markm dvc for dvc token... or am i missing something here?

Fuzzybear

Hey Fb. I just bought XLM and went right to StellarTerm the last time I bought some DVC tokens from MarkM's issuer account. Then I went from there to trade for interstellar.exchange's Eth tokens using the StellarTerm platform to trade.

So you bought dvc from markm's account with the XLM deposited, correct? None of your own personal dvc has left your wallet, or can you clarify how "I bought some DVC tokens from MarkM's issuer account"?

I'm investigating the setting up my own dvc denominated token but if that is the requirement to sell dvc then where is the guide for a non developer person from the dvc community?

@develCuy care to share any info, help or links as your asking everyone to get up to speed but provide no actual info or help to the users sharing their issues, or is this all new to you too?

Fuzzybear

Just log into interstellar.exchange with your XLM key (it'll have you create a session password too) - then follow this link to swap XLM (preload some into your account) for DVC:

https://interstellar.exchange/app/#/trade/guest/DVC/GBHAQ252S4Z4AQOM4BWIRC3UHAOJIKCZQBUJGD336YH2O7W2NKRXMHA5/XLM/native

It's word for word described in my Steemit tutorial develCuy shared. I know its kinda vague but you're here so I assume you know way more about the DevCoin project in general =)

Still happy to spend my time trying to comply and "help" you brainiacs  Grin

You have no merits to give?  It’s not right after all the work and research you’ve put in.  Let me talk to some ballers.

I agree with this new guy.  Much deserved merits inkoming for our resident author.  And how many have supported Dan’s ideas and theories for only $10 by purchasing abc reading his book?  Pretty sad cheap people we got in crypto.  Your loss.  Big loss.

I just noticed you like to turn out food food supply into ethanol when the US is energy independent and one of the cleanest air qualities in the world.  For a well researched guy I’m surprised you missed this important part of the snowflake philosophy.

It takes 19 gallons of water to produce a bushel of corn in Region 5, 38 gallons in Region 6, and 865 gallons in Region 7. The Baker Institute estimates that producing the corn to meet the ethanol mandate for 2015 will require 2.9 trillion gallons of water.

Clean coal fired plants and natural gas - it’s there for a reason and very cheap.  Plus the US is energy independent.   Use it cause we’ve handed over enough of US wealth and sovereignty to our enemies.

I never missed that actually. Its just my v2 self doesn't share every realization or transaction inside of my mind. It's fun to abstract some things. I realized the one thing I will always have is my mind and you can't hack that. It's important to me to keep some things in the old brainframe locked for the time being Wink

It's powerful to do so. And also when you realize you're wasting your time broadcasting to everyone who already hears you on the inside part past the tunnel/channel. So I operate with a bit of mystery. But thank you for sharing these facts.

I don't really care what the government does anymore, they're willing to lie this much on news media to their own people it must be for a good and bigger picture type reason down the road.

Until then, I just stare at blocks and mempools Tongue

Found a working direct link to trade the Devcoin token and XLM on Stellar DEX using the StellarTerm website.

Looks like the order books are correct and the issuer is MarkM's account.

https://stellarterm.com/exchange/DVC-GBHAQ252S4Z4AQOM4BWIRC3UHAOJIKCZQBUJGD336YH2O7W2NKRXMHA5/XLM-native

Is there a simple iOS app for that?  Thanks.

https://twitter.com/Lobstrco (iOS wallet)

Still way too complicated for the 99%.

Not sure why that’s so hard to grasp for most devs.  Or perhaps that’s the goal.  :/

That's why I'm guinea pigging so hard here...

For instance. Small potatoes but I think I made the first ever sale of the DVC token for interstellar.exchange's ETH token (transaction below):

https://stellar.expert/explorer/public/tx/cbf6381dcacea8acc531d94c42bee1aaa8ce3997b2ab3a6446bd0174ede624ee

You can see that XRP/ETH tokens are swapped on the minute according to the transaction history for the ETH token:

https://stellar.expert/explorer/public/asset/ETH-GCNSGHUCG5VMGLT5RIYYZSO7VQULQKAJ62QA33DBC5PPBSO57LFWVV6P

No luck with PathFinder swaps. Everytime I tried to trade anything issued by markm it said not enough liquidity to swap so I had to go trade directly again. However, since I had little luck with Interstellar.Exchange's swaps I decided to sell my DVC token for ETH token using StellarTerm (link below):

https://stellarterm.com/exchange/DVC-GBHAQ252S4Z4AQOM4BWIRC3UHAOJIKCZQBUJGD336YH2O7W2NKRXMHA5/ETH-GCNSGHUCG5VMGLT5RIYYZSO7VQULQKAJ62QA33DBC5PPBSO57LFWVV6P

The trade went through easily and quickly. The more websites to exchange on over Stellar, the better.

Here is a picture of the trade details after is successfully went through (via stellar.expert and the ETH tokens transactions list - to give you an idea what happens before and after such trades - not a coincidence, automated responses down the line - I feel like making trades no one has yet done helps. I believe Altilly had a DVC/ETH pair but that was with coins, so here's another path forged):

Also there has been no work to get dvc integrated into a multi crypto payment gateway provider. Don't forget they are reviewing all cryptocurrencies like this and payment gateways are a huge step in opening up the coin to non crypto businesses etc. For example https://b2binpay.com/en/cryptocurrencies/coins/

Some work unfinished? Lost?

A long time ago I looked into getting logos printed on tshirts, hat, mugs, stickers, keychains etc and would not take much cash investment to produce the actual products and stockpile goods for store once you have designs all sorted and ready.

I got this shirt printed year ago. I don't like graphic tees so I kept it simple.

Somebody also printed a white version.

Maybe DVC will reflect an accurate price once Block 0 reward can be redeemed. They're "satoshi's" coins after all.

Devcoin could probably get listed for free on Fides Exchange. Lots of dead shitcoins have got that deal.

It would be mutual beneficial for both. Fides gets new customers and promotion through devcoin twitter/bitcointalk/medium channels. And devcoin gets a new ltc/dvc market pair.

https://fidesexchange.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/47001120148-listing-request-form

It's been 9 years to the day since Block 0. It's hardly a dead shitcoin. Maybe just undervalued abstract coin.

Opened up my debug.log file today for Devcoin - Wallet (v0.8.5.1-g25a7b46-beta) for Windows (32-bit) through the GUI.

"socket send error 10038", been around since Hal and Satoshi were attaching and sharing original stripped bitcoin EXE's, tools, code, and debug files in attachments (for hal gmail attachments - which in the US and UK were later integrated with Google Wallet to attach "money" and send for free if one had a balance in their Google Wallet prepaid account).

Not shockingly these emails were then later compiled into a pdf (hash collision sha1 anyone?) and put online at a wsj subdomain. Previously "private" information exposed, double spent, who knows. But  I know one thing, the original bitcoin lives on through devcoin for a reason.

OK, so no crash or exception window or anything. debug.log is all I need then.
It looks like there's a "select failed: 10038" error (the sockets select function failed) and then network
communication goes quiet after that (except for IRC which is still working). I've never had select fail
before. It looks like sockets is somehow partially hosed. At least now I know what's wrong now.
You should restart it. It's not doing anything right now. I don't know if it'll just get the "select failed"
error again, or be fine for a while.
If I can't think of anything else, I can always shut down and restart sockets if it gets hosed like that. I'm
sure everyone who's written an internet app like a browser or p2p app had to slog through all the ways
the Internet can trash you. The Internet is a brutal, rough and tumble place.
The issue of bitcoin.exe still running after you close it is a known issue. It does a careful shutdown of
everything to be extra safe, in case some important transaction is in progress, but it's completely fine
and totally safe to just kill it if it doesn't exit on its own. I'll have to work on figuring out what's getting
hung up. I may just have it kill itself after a timeout.
Thanks!

Wow, sounds like pre-AOL to me. 🤓

My mind started meandering the other day when contemplating having only power coming from a diesel generator (getting ready to get the house wired to plug it in). Thought that throwing a partial volt to laid out copper lines would not even factor in on power rationing. With the lit up copper then we could have local telephones connecting to BBSs via modems. Keeping blockchains updated would be slower yet so would frequency of transactions most likely. We used to proudly promise email from coast to coast taking no more than 2 days on TKC BBS. 🤓

Sometimes a slower world is a nice thing.

For connecting outside of the copper lines then audio signals over CB radio waves could be used using modem protocols. Read an article on it in the Sinclair magazine in the 80's.

Whatever you are. The value is in the people on the network and their longevity.

Can always rename the "Devcoin" file in my %APPDATA%/Devcoin folder. Satoshi had some similar workarounds in the early days. We're still in beta for a reason. Playing catch up.

If you're looking to deposit and obtain DVC you have to put in XLM and then trade for the DVC token. If you want to take out DVC token as DVC blockchain coins you have to send markm the DVC token to his Stellar address and then he will coordinate with you to send blockchain coin DVC to your DVC wallet.

Oh I see, I think I understand, thank you!

I'm sorry. I don't really know if that's what you were  asking.

No, that's fine. I was mistaking the tokens with the coins but it's alright. I think I'm gonna buy and hold more DVC tokens! Thank you Dan!

Can't hurt to have a little of both Smiley

Not to take away from Peters wonderful challenge to the world but shouldn't this have been better directed at the ECDSA weaknesses implied by Schnier assuming of course this was his motivation for posting this?
I don't believe there is a way to construct such a thing— beyond all the coins which are pay to pubkey (e.g. early unspent blocks) and all the coins which are assigned to addresses which have spent before so the pubkey is known.

I'm not sure if anyone has identified any known-lost pay to pubkeys which can be redeemed without stealing from someone. Might be good for someone to do that.

Here you go.

Not sure how to redeem myself. But there's the same pubkey as BTC Block 0.

Its much better to get listed on a small exchange with zero volume, then on a scammy exchange with fake volume and 2 btc listing fee.

If possible to relist on altilly as fuzzybear mentions, that would be a good option. And there are a lot of small exchanges that would be very reasonable.

Stellar trading (especially now that it has an ETH pairing - who did that?) is not to be underestimated. Smiley

Dan, is there a way to deposit and withdraw DVCs in the interstellar? Unfortunately, I've been looking everywhere and I had no luck, yet.  Undecided

Are you saying you want to withdraw the DVC token from interstellar? If you use stellar the keys to your interstellar account should be there so you just put your key in whatever stellar wallet you want (I tested mine on keybase's iOS app which has a stellar wallet inside and it worked) and your DVC token balance should show in that wallet.

Also, off topic but relevant. Ever since Abe's been back (on new address paths) online the Devcoin 0 block shows what I always knew since my debug.log showed it long ago. But I didn't know the coins went to the same legacy address as BTC block 0. Now that is something.

The coin so stealth it needs no devs! Grin

True, noticed that years ago when I ran an experiment to prove it.  Nice.

DOGE price was always going back to pre-pump and pre-hype time because the TikTok publicity was eventually going to subside.

That's the problem with social media hype, once it's over, the price will slowly go down as seen from the trend. Most of those tiktok users don't know how a particular coin can sustain their level in the market. If the reason of the rise is empty, it will go back to where it was. But no worries, we still love doge for transfer purposes.

I first noticed DOGE is amazing for transfers back when I started w Crypto in 2018
