Source merits are automatically generated through an algorithm. The amount of sources merit are not fixed. Currently, the maximum source merit can be generated is-22045 with an average of 185. It won't reflect green after time of period,it depends upon how much feedbacks you have from DT level member and also DT depth level.
It will be green after 5 months, IMO. Initially, the trust score remains black only and later it turns into green. I don't know at what point at turns into green. For example, user shasan receives positive feedback from hiriousandco, a DT1 member. But still his feedback is black. While user Darth0ne had received positive feedback from DT-2 member haploid23 which has already turned into green. |

Who said current one is not working? Without altcoin section, I think all other board is working better than previous. Lots of shitposters stopped shitposting just because they can't be a jr member to wear the signature.
Do an experiment between ranked accounts before merit system vs after merit system. I believe you will get the differences and how much appropriate the merit system is.
FYI, those persons who are helping the community members, meanwhile posting some good quality posts are getting merits regularly.

It's more a discussion than a suggestion, I have created this thread in order to have some discussion with the community whether self-moderation is needed or not in Service section.
Yesterday, Privcy Foundation had started a signature campaign which was self-moderated. I had added a post regarding his fake campaign and he deleted the post. As per the rule of self-moderated thread, he has the right to delete any post. There are no rules to self-moderation. In self-moderated threads, replies belong to the OP. In other threads, replies belong to the respondents individually. Think carefully about whether you want to reply to a self-moderated topic, as your post may not be given due respect.
Why do we need self-moderated thread in Service Section?Most probably avoiding posts increase by account farmers (assuming pre-merit time) and avoiding shitpost from signature campaign hunters. Is there any other necessity of enabling self-moderated thread there? Since account farming is almost impossible nowadays, people may create shitposts only for maintaining the requirements of signature campaigns. But those will not be too much. Currently, I don't think more than 5%(I assume, probably not more than 2%) users create self-moderated thread in Service Section. Are we having a lot of spam there now? |

Green positives sound fine but it seems to me like the negatives are supposed to stand out and be more powerful the way it is designed.
I don't know the exact algorithm but for example QS is -114: -7 / +14 so he has 2X as many + as - but his score is still -114 so negative is more powerful.

If DT-1 member include a persons in his trust list, s/he becomes DT-2. And if 2 DT-1 member exclude that person from their trust list, s/he will no longer will be a DT member. Lauda was possibily trusted by Blazed and hilariousandco but excluded by HostFat, OgNasty & Tomatocage. Lauda score in DT is= 2-3=-1(minus 1) When DT score becomes minus/negative, s/he will not be DT-2 anymore. |

I don't think Theymos has reversed any merit grants yet, at least none that I know of.
It has been done once as per LoyceV although I don't know who was the person, whom he sent merit. I've only seen theymos undo it once, when a hacked account had send out 3 times 50 merit.
Only @LoyceV can tell who was the persons. AFAIK, LoyceV is using piggy's notification bot. And it will soon redirect him here to share the usernames of the first reverse of merit transaction. |
