341  Economy / Economics / Re: Why are Venezuelan not switching to Bitcoin? on: September 23, 2016, 09:08:50 PM
Often wonder if our concept of how troubled Countries should be adopting bitcoin is the same as me being a white dude that thinks BLM is racist.
I have tried to understand the plight but keep coming to the same conclusion and think when we are looking at third world issues its hard to understand the "Why"!
Things are pretty rough right now for people in that Country and if oil stays suppressed it will continue to be a shitty situation for people in the area.
The transient move will increase North if things continue to bleed out.
342  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: September 23, 2016, 06:48:36 PM
The way I invest is not to choose either or in a spot like the one here. You are facing manipulation of the market for both and are pressed to find a areas that does not see some aspect of movement based on cartels. So making a balanced portfolio would be the best way to protect your neck in the long run. Gold has plenty of advantages still and a long history,so do not write it off because bitcoin has arrived.
343  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the Future of Bitcoin ? on: September 23, 2016, 06:33:24 PM
Things have changed a lot since 2014 and I think the future may be more restricted than it was at that time.
Feels like governments treated this bitcoin craze like pokemon and thought it would die out after a set amount of time but instead it has dug in its heels for the longer run. The need for regulation seems to be the aspect that I really have the hardest time with and will continue to speak on it being unregulated for the true open concept to flourish. Stifling with regulation will not help and will kill bitcoin in due process.
344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi reveals himself, what would be of Bitcoin? on: September 23, 2016, 06:28:13 PM
Could see the potential for them to figure out who he is and force him to play ball or get the Snowden treatment. Reflecting on the issue for some time because it seems to be a ongoing issue knowing who he/she could be I came to the conclusion it was not a good thing for his safety.
If its not the government that do him in,there are people that would think he is sitting on valuable info or bitcoins that could be worth their well to attempt kidnapping him/her.
If Satoshi was to come forward and not have any of those things happen I would be shocked but going back to government...
I would treat him the way I treat apple after they claimed not to hand over a way to get into that terrorists cellphone. It was suspect and I would suspect he/she also had given the government a way to circumvent bitcoin when the time was needed. Call me a tinfoil hat thinker but I tend to think that way about a lot of stuff. Cheesy
345  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does sending Bitcoins feel good? on: September 23, 2016, 06:10:17 PM
Depending on the amount I can feel a little anxious till I see a confirmation on the other side. I know I am capable of sending to the wrong address and therefore double and triple check to still screw up from time to time. Usually just small amounts but hope I never achieve this with a larger amount.
If I do,I will pretend I bet on a losing sports team and try to stash the memory where I forget about it.
346  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Google is killing me on: September 22, 2016, 09:49:29 PM
Would think this field of websites would be  competitive in nature and would attract hackers to it like honey.
Google,Facebook and Twitter to name a few have started to take it upon themselves to shift society in a certain direction that they see as fit.
If you have right leaning thoughts or color outside the lines you are going to run into issues with these big players.

Have always wondered about this field for websites and would love to read/hear how much a said site would bring in a month and how extensive it is to keep a porn site running. I find a lot of the smaller sites seem to be click bait till a hacked warning appears on the screen.
Not saying I venture to porn sites every hour or not. Wink

Hope the problem gets sorted but I bet if you are not dealing with a hacker that google is nibbling around the edges of this field to see how they can run it off. Would not shock me as they did set a ball rolling when they made payday loans not show up in searches. Thank the Social Justice Warriors for our current state of being.
347  Other / Off-topic / Re: Australia police lay fabricated charges against me, on: September 22, 2016, 09:33:29 PM
When it comes to any business on the internet that is not defined, the overhanded can come in and scrape you financially and leave you in a state of disarray. Would like more details as well, till then it reads more like a rant and I do not think you intended to read such a way.

Sorry to read you are having issues,Australia has been a little aggressive lately towards these sorts of things and its a shame.
They seem to make their mind up and that is that and keep the stiff upper lip so to say in any reaction to their overzealous nature.
348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Geopolitics and Crypto on: September 22, 2016, 09:19:41 PM
The problem as I see it is the nature of the internet and how Countries are jockeying to position themselves in a way that they control it.
We can see big companies as well that want to be in on the action and limit those that want a wide open platform.
So without addressing that, you really can not establish a Country or bank that people can use strictly with bitcoin in mind.
If by chance we can create a web outside the system we could develop a system that functioned in this manner.
But again..Once you do create something like that the concept would have to constantly evolve to keep out of the cross hairs of government.
In essence we are shit out of luck when it comes to some sense of economic freedom.
349  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to tell your Girlfirend about BitcoiN?? on: September 22, 2016, 09:06:25 PM
Bitcoin does not always need to be addressed, not every detail is hashed out in a relationship so two people can bond as one.
Take a look at dating sites and you will see women that have standards about dating based on prior boyfriends. Example "NO Gamers"...This means they had enough boyfriends that did nothing with them but play video games.
Do we want bitcoin in that category as well? Cheesy

If she brings it up,address it but do not bring it up like you would a introduction into getting her into a 3 way with her best friend.
It will end badly and she will have on her profile "NO Bitcoiners"!
350  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many people here don't really care about BTC? on: September 22, 2016, 09:01:23 PM
You take out the greed factor and the amount of people interested in bitcoin would drop down to about 3/4 of what we currently have in users. Rough estimate but enough users are speculators and do not use bitcoin in any facet other than to gamble or trade. So if you remove this segment you have people that believe in the technology or have hard leaning political views that want to change society for the better.

When I post any of my views on what I want for bitcoin I see about another seven stating they can not wait for regulation. The only reason people want this is to turn around and profit off the new people jumping on a fad. Its a issue that saddens me a little because I was hoping we could put a group outside the banking world that was more significant than without bitcoin.
351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People hate Bitcoins? on: September 22, 2016, 08:41:38 PM
If you where to tell a person that you make passive income from bitcoin they would look at you at best as some one that plays online poker. At worst they think you are involved in kiddie porn on the darknet,so its best to watch who you address the topic with.
Know a few lovely old people I talk to frequently and they would think it was on the same level as smoking crack, its funny how reality shifts with each upcoming generation morally and technologically.
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Phishing : The Next Wave -Open Dns on: September 22, 2016, 08:39:05 PM
The evolution of bitcoin is going to attract more hackers to the field as we go forward, especially knowing that very few users fully understand bitcoin. The room for exploitation is quite vast for some one that is looking to make money off the backs of others. Comparable to hackers shifting to Mac users now I would think.
Stay diligent and we should be alright and adapting as the borders shift around us.
353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PSA1: ROOM77 does NOT have a Bitcoin atm anymore. PSA2: owners of an atm ... on: September 22, 2016, 04:14:05 PM
Imagine that you are looking at something similar to what actual bank atms are facing, which is some mechanism to overlap and record details or hijack the system. Its very interesting and most likely quite effective whatever it is they have sprung on the atm due to the lengths that you say they are going to get inside. Imagine it will become apparent later on and not right away as the data is collected.
not that easy i guess. usually they copy your card, which they still could do with every other atm, so why bother to break in and try with this one? the btc part works with displays or paper printouts, which should be harder to manipulate.
but that doesn't matter as the atm isn't used anymore anyway.

You miss the aspect that bitcoin is not seen as real money for a lot of jurisdictions,so punishment would be less and harder to track down.
It would also work just the same as hijacking a regular atm and that has been shown to be quite easy with parts found on ebay.
As to the matter about it not mattering anymore, this is a open discussion and a potential warning for other service providers. So end of the day the warning and thread do matter to those that frequent bitcoin atms.
354  Other / Off-topic / Re: I spent all my saving on bitcoin, now i am broke on: September 22, 2016, 12:48:45 AM
The whole idea of investing in bitcoin for me would be able to turn it into cash quickly. So sitting on it and hiding it for a long time goes against how I see bitcoin. Not saying it is wrong to want to sit on it,just believe people need to go about life in general in a balanced manner.
Perception can often lead us astray leaning to far one way or another.
355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing my $2,000,000 Into bitcoin (advice me) on: September 22, 2016, 12:45:18 AM
Stopped reading when I read friend just asked another friend how to invest 2 million. If I am asking anyone that is not a expert how I should invest, then I am asking to be bent over and treated like a atm. If I had 2 million I would be sticking it in real estate, not something that is going to potentially go sour over night.
356  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What's the heck with YoBit signature campaign ?! on: September 21, 2016, 11:18:12 PM
Well i dont know but looks like the staff doesnt know the signature thread its closed, i contacted them because an issue, and they asked me to post on the signature thread, soo its kind a wizzars they dont know hilarious has locked it.

I contacted them a well back and got the same reply and then no response after linking to the closed thread.
Seems to me that the signature is closed by Hilarious and Yobit as they clean house and do not want to open it prematurely.
Any other reason just does not add up when you think about the people that where abusing the signature to get it to this point.

Its a troubled signature and the fact that it is going no where with new sign ups, combined with responses from yobit should spell out the issue for any one with a brain.
357  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: September 21, 2016, 11:10:49 PM
Porn really does not need bitcoin because they could create a similar project and do just as well.
The one aspect I see them using a cryptocurrency would be with virtual reality and will need something in play as every pervert gets his rocks off in a new way.
358  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2017 Year of the Bitcoin on: September 21, 2016, 11:06:21 PM
Only real spotllight I see in the coming future is something potentially with Kim Dotcom. Other than that I have not seen anything that would blast bitcoin into the limelight that some people seem to want for it. Any rise would take time and we most likely would see it already developing to spread to the masses and nothing that I can see is approaching that point currently. 2018 seems more likely as we ebb and flow for 2017.

360  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are floppy disks safe to store wallets? on: September 21, 2016, 10:53:53 PM
Its amazing to think somewhere in the world some one is actively still using floppy disks, not thinking about how they would be destroyed if they where exposed to to much sunlight. I like to think of these people as the same people that drive around with a cd hanging from their rearview mirror to shine in my face as I drive. No idea why they do it other than to piss other motorists off.
I would not advise using a floppy disk, but I think that point has been driven home at this point. There is a reason vhs tapes are also no longer being used. When something is crappy it has a short life span.
