3401  Economy / Gambling / Re: •••• COINICHIWA • SUPER FAST ROLLS • 1% EDGE • JACKPOT •••• on: April 07, 2015, 09:42:10 PM
someone was lucky:

4 bitcoin in less than 2 days, extremely lucky! I think this site is better than other, because its "roll" is super-fast.
3402  Other / Meta / Re: 'Recruiting' Participants? on: April 07, 2015, 07:00:46 PM
I don't think it is wrong recruit person through personal message, they should only not "oblige" them to join and if they don't want, he should nor "harrass" them (in that case he will be surely banned from the forum).
3403  Other / Meta / Re: How to know User Thread? on: April 07, 2015, 05:10:18 PM
Normally SMF supports that feature but I'm not sure about SMF 1.1.19.
But a 3rd party application may be coded easily.
It works like that;
Get all user posts,
Eliminate all posts whose title starts with RE:
Check the post id on each topic to decide the first post or not.
Voila!

If I've free time I can code something like that.

@bold: I dint get this feature. Will my post ID be reflected or the user's post ID I am searching for? It would be good to have my post ID reflected in the results that appear under "Show new replies to your posts".

Also, is there any suggestion thread where I can suggest new features?

There is an entire section/board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=167.0   There you can suggest "whatever" you want (but it is more related with the new forum software and probably it will added in the new forum and not here).
3404  Other / New forum software / Re: Short URLs for threads and posts on: April 07, 2015, 05:00:52 PM
I also support the idea, have you verified if there are some "free" interesting short domain (to use for this purpose)? Here in the forum the complete link is not a problem, but maybe on twitter and reddit it ill be more easy the legibility of whole the text.
3405  Other / Meta / Re: Please remove the Digital Goods section on: April 07, 2015, 03:02:55 PM
The section needs to be cleaned up thats for sure. If an extra mod is needed just for that section let it happen. What is legal and illegal is debatable. For example using someone's netflix account to watch shows is debatable but using up some one's dunkin donuts virtual balance is illegal since its stealing their money and hurts them compared to piggybacking someones netflix where they can still use the service.

The politic of this staff  (as I have read in the past): is to not moderate the scam or scam attempt because everyone of us should trade with his own diligence (and obviously use always an escrow). Remove that section (as I said previously) will not resolve the problem, and an extra mod will not also resolve the problem.
3406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Losses on: April 07, 2015, 02:41:59 PM
I have lost +15 btc on primedice, but I am continuing gamble because I want to restore my loss.

You should exit "right now" from the gamble world all you will los more bitcoin, this is sure! Search another way to spend your free time, the gambling is not the right thing. I have seen a lot of people (with their families) ruined due the gambling, the free money doesn't exist ... remember it!
3407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Describe the blockchain in one sentence on: April 07, 2015, 01:35:11 PM
The blockchain is pure anarchism but at the same time perfect and ordered. No one can control it, and this is why it is perfetc than the actual economic system.

Just my personal opinion.
3408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The former CIO of Nike is joining a bitcoin bank on: April 07, 2015, 01:01:16 PM
Bitcoin bank? Are we not our own bank anymore

Actually it says startup in the article, not bank. I don't know why OP wrote bank in subject.

Quote
The former CIO of Nike is joining a bitcoin startup

He will work for Bitreserve, you can check their site here: https://bitreserve.org

Quote
The company, founded in the last six months, transfers deposits of the digital currency bitcoin into other currencies and allows customers to send and receive money anywhere in the world for very low fees. A promo video calls Bitreserve “a next-generation money service built on top of bitcoin,” but goes on to describe the volatility of bitcoin, and says that Bitreserve, “solves bitcoin’s volatility problem by enabling you to hold bitcoin denominated as stable, real-world value.” The site currently offers eight currencies: dollar; euro; pound; franc; yen; yuan; rupee; and peso. It also offers commodities—for now, the metals gold, silver, platinum and palladium.

Fixed, I have only copied the title of that article (after they also changed it). However I think that it is another positive news for the bitcoin eco-system, every day a little improvement (well done bitcoin!).
3409  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [SUGGESTION] To The Signature Campaign Managers - Payout Address Changes on: April 07, 2015, 12:40:38 PM
If a user wants to change payout address on a campaign you should ask for a signed message with old address.
That prevents users funds from hacking. Let's say X hacked some hero member's account on a signature campaing who earned 0.15 BTC in a week, and X comes to thread and says "hey please change my address to that one". If the campaign manager don't ask for signed message that Hero member will loose that money.

I'm asking to the campaing managers to consider that condition.

Ps: I've posted this suggestion on the Dadice campaign, posting here for more publicity.

If I can say my opinion: I support your idea and this is a normal use of bitcoin (signed message) so why shouldn't we use it? However to control if someone has change password (through email or directly) check here https://bitcointalk.org/seclog.php and it will be more souspicious if he change the payout address after that the password was changed.
3410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Losses on: April 07, 2015, 12:33:05 PM
I have lost 5 bitcoin on a dice site Roll Eyes, and for this reason I have stopped to gamble because it is so risky (oh yes I have also lose 0.05 btc on a ponzi scheme, few months ago). However I have already recovered my loss, with some online works.
3411  Other / Meta / Re: What can I do? on: April 07, 2015, 12:29:17 PM
I left a neutral on the account to not lend to it until you are paid back. If he fails to pay you back post a scam thread and message me... I will leave a negative. Honestly the fact that he took it back already is pretty bad either way.

It is very strange because I know he (or they) are managing this service : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=954370.0;topicseen  as written in the thread "We're glad to announce TOXCOIN Bitcoin Exchange - a new and easy way to buy and sell Bitcoins."

So why ruin a reputation for only 0.02 btc, this is insane or am I wrong?
3412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Jesus going to Pay my Rent today ? on: April 07, 2015, 12:25:42 PM
Well for now, they decide the rules. Banks can give the excuse saying that there won't be any employee to process the transaction but the fact is that all these money transferring is already fully automated.

If most of the processes are automated, then a lot of bankers will lose their jobs. For example, if transactions can be done on holidays, when there is no one in the banks, then naturally people would start asking why do we need to employ so many people. The job can be done without them.  Grin

We are going to a new decentralized work, why should I trust a bank to keep my money when I can be my own bank (without a trust to a third part). I know they will lose their work, but this is not my problem because everyone has the right to issue his own money and manage them as he wants.

PS: the economic revolution is very, very close.
3413  Other / Meta / Re: What can I do? on: April 07, 2015, 12:21:39 PM
Why did you seriously think that you would be able to recover an account that you are holding as collateral if you do not have 100% control of the account? That is like accepting a promise that someone will give you collateral when they default.

Yes you are right, it is the same error that I have made (with a collateral). I didn't change the email address, because I thought it was random but someone noticed it (probably, because it was not hide to the "public) and he has registered (the email) and took the account.

OP, you should be very diligent with the collateral and as I said previously use always a trusted escrow.
3414  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-04-04] CS - BitcoinTalk’s User WoodCollector Hid 5,000 Btc on: April 07, 2015, 12:12:20 PM
In my personal opinion he doesn't own 5k bitcoin, and he didn't give any proof and an ultimate thing:  this is not a news related with bitcoin technology (OP you should move the thread in another section).

PS: WoodCollector, we are waiting some proofs Wink.
3415  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Miracles of Quran on: April 07, 2015, 11:50:37 AM
Maybe ....

Let's see now, hmm, solid stone building remains while the rickety shacks around it were washed away.

'Tis truly miraculous, no?

I despise willful ignorance and this thread is already chock full of it before we've even got to the second page. The OP and friends are not interested in actually proving their case, they've already been conditioned to believe without question.

That is an interesting picture, but as cryptodevil said "solid stone building remains while the rickety shacks around it were washed away." However it is a really nice picture, and we consider it a building miracle (thanks to construction workers).
3416  Other / Meta / Re: How to know User Thread? on: April 07, 2015, 11:11:48 AM
How to see all of the Thread that a user was made?
If there any way to do that, it will be so helpful for me. Smiley

No you cannot know what thread an user made in his pas activity here in the forum, you can only check and see his latest posts at:

- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=211419;sa=showPosts  <<--- replace the bold part with the forum id of any user.

You can also see how many thread he has opened :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=211419;sa=statPanel   <<--- replace the bold part with the forum id of any user.
So, there is no way to do that Sad

No, there isn't any forum function to sort all the thread created by an user (but I think it is easy to add that feature in the new forum software). Maybe suggest it in this section:

- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=167.0  (New forum software)

and I hope they will add it, good luck!

I had a deal with one user, I gave him a loan 0.02 and he told me to repay 0.025 in 48 hours.
He give his password to have his account as collateral so I send him the money first and after this he changed password again so I couldnt take his account.

I know is my fault and I should take his account first but I didnt.
Now I hope that he repay but in case of default what could I do?

I have all the proof and signed message and everything. ..
Thanks!!

You should have used always a trusted escrow for held the collateral, now as Josepht you can only open a scam accusation and try to convince that user to repay the loan (but I a m not sure he will repay it) however is this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=406984) the account?

He changed the password in these two moment:

Today at 12:33:37 AM - TXWA - password changed
April 06, 2015, 11:08:35 PM - TXWA - password changed

Yes thats the account!
Maybe mods could give me the account if he dosent repay?
Thanks guys!

No, the staff team doesn't involve in this type of situation. The only thing you can do is contact that user and try to convince him and obviously open a scam accusation (if he will not repay you, and these 48 are passed).

3420  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Palestine & israel? What do you think about that situation? on: April 07, 2015, 10:35:34 AM
I was in Palestine and Israel a couple of months ago. It did not look so complicated. Two things people don't like:
1. Having their land stolen out from under them.
2. Having rockets fall on their kids.

At the end there are some people that want the "peace" and other that want the "war and the continue of the conflict". I think if they want to resolve all this situation the can do it in less than 1 week. The problem here is that no one has respected this division:
