3441  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cloud Mining - Please help a newbie on: April 07, 2015, 12:58:10 PM
Try renting instead of cloud mining.  There's BTC to be made

People usually choose cloud mining because they don't rent miners because most of them is overpriced and most of the times you will get less than what you invested.

How much does it cost for rent ? How long is ROI ?

Sincere thanks !

It depends on whose miner you rent. Nicehash and Miningrigrentals are good site to rent miners. They usually lease miners just below the profit or equal to it but most times, higher than what you can get.

You probably will get profit if you choose a 0-1% fee pool. ROI will be quicker than you buy hashrate from companies because the period and the rate will be shorter.

You should check every factors carefully before you start investing. It is better to rent a miner from one of the members here than using sites such as Nicehash and Miningrigrentals because of the fee.

Do you think about VPS, or something else?

Nope. Renting others miners which is for lease.

Did not get you. What to rent ? Renting Hash Power is called Cloud Mining indeed...

Indeed it is but people(incl. me) usually use "cloud mining" if it is provided by companies. Eg:- Cex.io*, BIT-X, Hashnest and KncCloud. If I rent and/or lease, most of them don't say "cloud mining", they say "I am remting" and/or "I am leasing" and it isn't wrong at all unless they say "it isn't cloud mining".

* Cex.io stopped their "cloud mining" service but it is still open for trading.

Only forex trader I like which has Bitcoin is "plus500(aka +500)". Unfortunately, they don't offer Bitcoin deposits probably because of the problem "source of the money" and withdrawals probably because of legal problems such as Tax.
3443  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My payments are stuck !!! on: April 07, 2015, 12:24:43 PM
Oh yeah, I really though you were talking about the coinbase conpany(cause that company is the only thing that comes to mind when you hear of the word "coinbase").
So you meant coinbase which is - A special kind of transaction, called a coinbase transaction, has no inputs. It is created by miners, and there is one coinbase transaction per block. Because each block comes with a reward of newly created Bitcoins (e.g. 50 BTC for the first 210,000 blocks), the first transaction of a block is, with few exceptions, the transaction that grants those coins to their recipient (the miner).

Hope I am getting it right. Thanks for telling it. I never knew we used to call that thing as "coinbase transaction".

Yup, that's the one I was talking about. Forgot to mention that 25BTC isn't permanent. Reward is halved every 210,000 blocks. Current block count is 351,113, so when block count reaches 420,000, reward will be halved, i.e. miner will only get 12.5BTC. 68,887 more blocks to go for the decrement of the reward. Assumimg blocks are minted roughly every 15-30 minutes, it will take about 717.6 to 1,435.1 days. This may not be accurate and maybe completely wrong, so don't rely on this completely.

Help can be expected anytime. Wink
3444  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 21 million not never !!! on: April 07, 2015, 12:10:50 PM
If there is no PoS for Bitcoin, why should people at all have an incentive to open their wallets?
These coins are probably safely stored, but definitely not lost.

Definitely? What if the private key was lost? What if the owner is no more? What if owner can not access it anymore? Many Bitcoins have lost especially the ones in Bitcoin blackhole.*

* Bitcoin blackhole are addresses which don't have private key. "Blockhole" obviously is named by us.
3445  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sign a message?! on: April 07, 2015, 11:58:49 AM

Thats a problem every time you unlock the wallet on a hot system. A general wallet security thread might be a good thread to start, but I want to keep this topic very focused on signatures.

Yes it is but if you already put together a tutorial where the exposure of the private key is required then its also important to atleast warn the newbies to be very vigilant about this, and not to find out in the hard way.

Just basic security, when handling private key.

My online PC is very hot so I dont handle my private keys on it.

A tutorial isn't needed but a warning like this may suffice: "Signing with a Bitcoin address in an affected computer may result in theft of your Bitcoins. Only sign in a secure trusted pc. Never sign in a public pc unless you know what you are doing".

Edit: BTW, Thank you, shorena for keeping this upto date! If you have time, it will be good to add Bither. I maybe able to help you tonight but atm, it isn't possible because of the heavy rain. Sad
3446  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My payments are stuck !!! on: April 07, 2015, 11:55:08 AM
They don't get 25BTC from "coinbase", its just the bitcoin network that rewards the miners with 25BTC for solving a block.

You are mistaken, my friend! You are talking about "Coinbase" company, I am talking about Coinbase transaction. The first transaction in a block. From "coinbase" miner get 25 newly minted Bitcoins.
3447  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Talk account hacked any way to recover? on: April 07, 2015, 11:31:48 AM
@MZ the same happened to me i got negative feedback form quickseller he says that i m alt of tacoman without proving and i m afraid that he will give you the negative trust too i dont know what is wrong with him ..

He has put a neutral feedback in my account but I have no problem in it. I respect his action/decision on it. Although, it was never my intention, I will have to accept his feedback.

I don't know about your case, so I can't comment on it and also, this isn't the right thread to discuss it. On a side note, I find Quickseller's feedback as appropriate. I haven't find him leaving feedback without a reason. I think you should contact him to know "why". If you still didn't get a good reply, post in Meta. Remember,  if you are really an alt of tacoman and Quickseller is able to prove it, more negative feedback will come.

Edit:

Given that more of the pages are dedicated to that discussion and that the OP is more or less solved perhaps we can just rename this discussion.

What shorena said is correct but I think creating a new thread will do nothing because many came and went down but it is worth a try.

BTW, @hilliarousandco, I know that there a lot of grey areas in real life and that money buys its way to the front of the line in a lot of cases but I do find it a bit ironic that the forum says "no ban evasion, that will get you banned even harder" but then says "well, buying and selling accounts isn't exactly cool, but what can we do about it?".  I guess I find it funny that restricting account buying and selling is considered unenforceable and therefore acceptable but ban evasions are serious shit.

It isn't enforceable but I am pretty sure it will reduce account sales.
3448  Other / Meta / Re: how to permanently delete a banned account? on: April 07, 2015, 11:21:41 AM
it should be possible keeping posts yet deleting accounts. only thing, the username on the post seems anonymous or something like that. I think that should be a right for users to be able to do that.

people generally want to go away with their content.

Well, it is good but sometimes it shouldn't be. Scammers tend to clear the account most probably to make another scam and the the threads and/or posts will be deleted which makes it hard to know which was his previous account was. If we make a rule such as "posts and/or threads of scammers won't be deleted", it may become another problem. There are scammers who want to start fresh too. Unfortunately, current system won't allow these things unless you come with a new account, new address and new IP. Never and ever send from/to old address which you used to scam. This will help you to start fresh.

i think the right management for this case,
it is to delete user account plus his contents.
If a mod decide to bann an account it means who is posts are useless.

IMHO no. An account is banned if majority of the posts are spam. There maybe a small amount of posts which are helpful.

And for this reason, i think if a user account is gone, contents need to gone with him.

Shouldn't be IMHO. One of the reason is in the reply to emrebey's post.

otherwise it would not be happy to ban a user.

All low value/spam posts will be deleted, anyway. I don't think there is a need to delete other posts.
3449  Other / Meta / Re: How to know User Thread? on: April 07, 2015, 11:10:19 AM
There is no easy way to check threads made by a user. You will have to go to the link posted by redsn0w and click the posts and see if it was a post or thread made by him.

However, if you don't want an accurate result, you can avoid all posts which contains "Re:" in subject/title because it mostly appears when we reply to a thread. So all the other posts will most probably be threads created by the user.

I was banned for 14 days by trust spam Grin and now me have to use a new nickname Grin. Did you understand? Grin

That is ban evasion. You ought to be careful. This account may get banned and also the ban period of symantec may extend.

Have you reported the OP? I'm going to report him for ban evasion and I hope the forum team will ban him (as soon as possible). He deserve the ban because he is a spammer.

Grand_Voyageur made post in Meta to tell about the ban evasion.

3452  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Muhammed Zakir on: April 07, 2015, 10:53:56 AM
Thank you! I am removing your annoying font size and colors for easy reading. I kindly request you to not do copy-pastings.

FuckIdolPlus is Mohammed Zakir or a friend of him.

Both wrong. I only send a message after you made the scam accusation. I heard about him first when anti-vod threads popped out.

I accused him based on two reasons:

I understand why you are accusing but it is pure misunderstanding.

1. https://i.imgur.com/OChMSjX.png and https://i.imgur.com/hLDpXFW.png

- Why did he have access to the account of FuckIdolPlus
- Why FuckIdolPlus send his account for Muhammed Zakir
- Why did he tell me False accusation + Blackmailing the seller

-1: I didn't have access to FuckIdolPlus' account. I told him to give the account to me or a trusted person and he replied in publicly but in PM he told he can't give password but he can show the account via TeamViewer.
-2: The answer is given in above answer and also I never received a PM from FuckIdolPlus regarding password of his account or TeamViewer password.
-3: Oops. Sorry about that. I wrote "false accusation" when you lied but before writing I asked you whether this accusation was for "evasion" or for not receiving the keys. Thanks to Quickseller for answering doubt of mine which is why I am changing the feedback.

2. https://i.imgur.com/jTDrnMf.png

- When everything has passed, why did he send me message to protect FuckIdolPlus

I had no intention to protect her, never. As I have mentioned above, Quickseller showed me to the image which you said I can buy for $3 per key and she agreed to it. After that, you only received 4 keys for $56. You are owed 19 keys if the rate was $3 per key. When I asked FuckIdolPlus, he told the rate was $14 per key and as a result, he got 4 keys which he paid for. So I asked you what was the rate you both agreed to. If it was $3 per key, I will try to message FuckIdolPlus but if it was $14 per key, I probably will leave that matter.

PS: Based on the above reasons, My purpose is warning everyone when trade with this Indian dog
[/size]

It's good. I recommend you to delete the whole trust-spam and put a negative feedback with a detailed explanation and you can put link to this thread as reference.

I was banned for 14 days by trust spam Grin and now me have to use a new nickname Grin. Did you understand? Grin

3453  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My payments are stuck !!! on: April 07, 2015, 10:31:03 AM
Thank you Muhammed Zakir!  Smiley

Your reply coaxed me into Google mode and I found that indeed daily transactions continue to rise. https://blockchain.info/charts/n-transactions?timespan=all&showDataPoints=false&daysAverageString=1&show_header=true&scale=0&address= I can only assume this is a good thing...but I've been wrong before.

Don't believe everything you see on Blockchain.info. Their details sometimes are wrong though not all.

Now I don't know how I can find out how many bytes are in the average Tx but just using a guesstimate, until someone can give me a more concrete number, I'll say it's a thousand for the sake of the math.

You can find the size of a transaction by decoding tx or after you rely it, you can see size on blockchain explorer. Most wallets calculate tx fees accurately and they set 0.0001BTC/1000 bytes unless you change it or chose low or manual fee. If the fee is low than recommended, most wallets warn you anyway.

If this is the case then 100,000 transactions times 0.0001 adda up to only 10 BTC per day. That's 10 BTC spread over all miners...per day. Not a whole heck-of-a-lot.

What am I missing  Huh

Some transactions are more than 1000 bytes and it will have more than 0.0001BTC as fee. Some transactions even have zero fee. Miner who find the block get 25BTC from coinbase which is newly minted coins and the transaction fees will be also taken by the miner. So if there is 100,000 transactions each with 0.0001BTC fee, the miner will get 60BTC. If it is a pool who get it, they will take the fee from it and distribute it to the miners who mine on their pool.

Note: Only the miner or pool who find the block gets reward, others will get 0BTC.

BTW I was advocating for paying a higher Tx fee. Predicated on need for speed of course.

Just found this http://www.coindesk.com/questions-linger-daily-bitcoin-transactions-pass-100000-milestone/

If you scroll down to the comments section someone calling themself  In search of a Japanese Wife said this 4 months ago.

"Blockchain also has a chart showing the number of transactions using blockchains own wallet. I note the increase in the transactions of the blockchain wallet over the last 12 months is of a similar size & shape to the increase in transactions in general. Basically I can assume that the increase in bitcoin transactions is (almost fully) due to an increase in the use of the blockchain wallet. Anyone concur?"

Wellllll? Does anyone here? Concur, I mean...with In search of a Japanese Wife.

I don't think so. How can the use of Blockchain.info wallets increase transactions? It would have been better if you say "increase of the use of Bitcoins increased the number of transactions". Besides, the transactions you see aren't fully from Blockchain.info wallets AFAIK. They may have a different chart for that.
3454  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Talk account hacked any way to recover? on: April 07, 2015, 06:39:57 AM
What?  I must be misunderstanding you, MZ.  It sounds like you're confessing to scamming people, but surely this isn't the case.

I caused it. Those two lines were meant to be different but because of "and", you may saw a connection between those two lines. Why I said I, Marco and few other would be banned because there was threads in Meta saying the account was hacked after we sold it. So when geforcelovor said "if you got caught selling hacked or scammed account...", we may have got a ban.

Who did you scam? Are you an alt of FuckIdolPlus? You seemed to be pretty adamant about him not scamming even though it was pretty clear that he did, screenshots included.

No, I didn't scammed anyone and no, I am not alt of FuckIdolPlus. I wasn't trying to protect her either. I posted what FuckIdolPlus sent me but it all went slightly different, probably because how I talked. I think I must learn to talk English better. Why I doubted symantec was he told he didn't receive keys and he told she was avoiding. Avoiding was clearly seen but telling he didn't receive made me to doubt him a bit. However, I was trying to ask both but I didn't get answets from symantec like I though, however, FuckIdolPlus replied to my PMs. So I could only post what FuckIdolPlus said to me and symantec was just copy-pasting rather than replying. We can take to a new thread if you think I am alt or I was protecting her(maybe in scam accusation?).

3455  Other / Meta / Re: how to permanently delete a banned account? on: April 07, 2015, 06:13:04 AM
Given the fact that it's possible to "nuke" a spambot account, ie delete all posts, why isn't this possible for normal users?  I've seen other users asking about deleting an account and the only reply is "we don't do that, change your passwd to something random and go drinking".

Posts made by spambots are obviously spams because it is by AI and AI is never perfect or equal to humans. When it is made by normal users(humans), spam posts will be ther but there will be helpful posts too compared to a bot. I think it is hard for a admin/mod to know which is helpful. So such accounts are left untouched.

Just my 2 Satoshis.
3456  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Talk account hacked any way to recover? on: April 07, 2015, 06:07:45 AM
Umm i think you can recover your account here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0
just sign message and follow the details given in the thread .

(Usually) theymos doesn't involve in these type of things.

Quote
There is nothing wrong with buying and selling accounts if both parties agree, and the buying party does not have an intention to cheat the community or break any rules or spam the forum.

Buying selling account is allowed on the forum but selling hacked account is not allowed . if you got caught selling hacked or scammed account you will get ban too .

This is a new rule, obviously made by you or it was a mistake. "Scams aren't moderated" and also if there was a rule like that, I, Marco and few thers would have been banned long ago. I don't think this rule will ever come to existence because it is hard to know what is true and what is not.

Thanks for the post. Did she reply or avoided your messages like she avoided symantec's?

Looks like Vod was right about him.

You are right. Soft-corner was the main problem in the disputes or else, what Vod done will be correct in almost all of the persons' eyes.
3458  Other / New forum software / Re: The Ability To Filter "Unread Posts Since Last Visit" on: April 07, 2015, 05:12:28 AM
Something like that will be in the new software.

There's a hidden feature in the current forum that allows you to filter "unread posts since last visit" by board:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=unread;boards=6,37,4,1

Thank you for the update, theymos! The hidden feature is better than ignoring boards. Is there more hidden features like this and also is it a SMF hidden feature or was it added by you? Thanks!

I suggest to use different addresses for escrowing so that you will know if the buyer/seller is the sender. Or you can use an address but don't use the address which you receive tip to.

Thank Quickseller for this suggestion. Good luck!
3460  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: No collateral!!! on: April 07, 2015, 04:51:41 AM
I think why the loanee uses altcoins as collateral is that they won't liquidate their altcoins holding.

Liquidating takes seconds on an exchange plus you don't have to pay back any interest to anyone. But what do I know? I've been cursed with that nasty logic stuff.

It's not a matter or interest or time. It's "how valuable it is to them". In real world, you may use vehicle, land, buildings and all as collateral instead of selling them. Altcoins and/or accounts are valuable to borrower which makes them use it as collateral rather than selling 'em.
