2561  Other / Meta / Re: message pruner on: May 01, 2015, 08:25:55 AM
It isn't automatic. It prunes messages if you click "Delete". Else, it won't. If you want to delete messages older than x days, say 30, change 14 to 30 and click "Delete". Only do this if you want to.

You can adjust the time by yourself

No automation = no time. Undecided
2562  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: May 01, 2015, 08:20:52 AM
Download and running at the speed of ~340 Kkey/s with CPU. Tried to use GPU but it throw me a OpenCL.dll missing error. I know this is nothing related to Vanitygen because I always get this error when trying to play high-end game. However, anyone know how to fix this error?
Install GPU drivers.

How? Anyway, generated a three letters vanity address - 1JTKeHGEjFtJ3X2M8TCt1WvT1e2cDkgUHf (J: jack, T: the, K: king).

You can go for more. I generated 7 letter vanity address with just ~200+ Kkeys/s.

2564  Other / Meta / Re: Quickseller left himself positive trust using an alt account on: April 30, 2015, 04:22:42 PM
I don't find any such feedback on your trust page.  I see one from QS saying he escrowed for you and it went fine.  I see several from you saying that QS is the man.  Perhaps I'm missing something or perhaps it was removed.  Nevertheless, you notably chimed in echoing quickseller's echoing of tradefortress charges against me during quickseller's smear attack on me,

Yes, I did agree to Quickseller.

even adding facts which where clearly incorrect, saying "bots were against the rules on coinchat" (they weren't).

You should mention "bot" in username which you didn't do.

Since then I've noticed that you're constantly on the side of the poweful in these discussions on meta.

I agree with that points and I support it.

I apologize if I'm out of line, but that's been my observations.

No problem.
2565  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitcoin-power.com on: April 30, 2015, 04:08:06 PM
What a reason is that? "Talking shit"?! Shocked Weird and unprofessional. Obvious scammy site.

P.S. Why don't you PM admin to become a staff and put a mod note or something in his/her thread? Wink
2566  Economy / Services / Re: Cryptovpn.me Signature Campaign | CLOSED ended 30 APR 2015 on: April 30, 2015, 03:58:45 PM
Bitkilo is using his account as collateral for the loan I provided. I am changing the payout address.

Signed message:

-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

He posted this address here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1008724.msg10946223#msg10946223.

Please change it and thank you!

P.S. Please confirm.

If the payout address gets changed by trusting an address that is not being paid out to, I will lose faith in the best judgement of the handlers of this sig campaign. The address that should have signed is 1Js5djRnuFozdu79KAqAoSi2LZHEreAVsV

*Before posting this, I have already completed my 60 posts for April*

That is a deposit address and you know it can't be used for signing. The address used to sign the message is one of the address bitkilo posted and that post is unedited. It is enough. I forgot to tell that I will only take 0.05BTC and remaining will be send to  1Js5djRnuFozdu79KAqAoSi2LZHEreAVsV.

I guess security isn't essential in this case, since someone would have to make all the posts. When it's at the end of the month like this, I think the people of the campaign should not change the payout address if it can't be verified that it's theirs. If you ever had the real signing address in a communication from the user in question, at the same time as they signed up, then fine. But, in this case, if someone hacks into an account, they should not be able to change the payment address. I certainly don't want to have hackers come along, and just claim an address is an online wallet, and be able to steal my money as well. Maybe you should warn against non-signable address if someone ever wants their address changed. Or someone can verify an online wallet by sending a specific dust amount to you, that you will refund with the payment.

To prove I ain't an hacker, I posted a message he signed with an address he posted some months ago.

I like your idea mentioned in last line but I am not sure whether CryptoVPN/Carra23 and/or bitkilo will agree this.

No longer needed. The payment will be released soon and an agreement couldn't be made. Leave this. Thanks for the help!
2567  Economy / Services / Re: [SAD] I delete your account on: April 30, 2015, 03:48:27 PM
What do you mean by "delete"? Remove all posts a user makes?

Removal of posts is extra, the basic service is just to remove your access to the account.

I'm not sure I get what you are trying to do because can't I just delete the account by myself?

-snip-
As it was pointed out in the past, that is surely something many can do themselves, but so is baking bread or mowing the lawn. Its more convenient to have someone else take care of it.
-snip-

Hi shorena.

The title say; "I delete your account" but what you really do is "just to remove your access to the account."

If you tell me that you will delete my account i would expect.

-Delete my user from the data base
-Delete past post

But if i give you my user, mail and pass just to be changed for a random info;

1.-My account still here.
2.-Now my account is under your control and if 10 users get the service you will have 10 new accounts.

I really like the concept of deleting accounts, but what you do is not really delete them.

I wish you good luck with this service, i not interested on it but the idea is very original and i want to share my point of view.

Shorena deletes posts. If you trust Shorena, you will know he/she will change password to a random one so that he/she can't access it. Else, don't use this service or use this while thinking you are doing a giveaway.

What kind of joke is this?

A retard's?*

Buying people trust? What a shame just ruining this forum.

He will be removed from default trust list if he abuses. If he is removed, his trust will have less to no value. There is nothing shame to run this forum, it is shame he is going to sell trust. I think he is just trolling.

* Verb not noun.
2571  Other / Meta / Re: Account perma banned on: April 30, 2015, 02:52:14 PM
It said it was 14 days, but it was supposed to say (and was) 60.

6 days remaining.
May i ask why the account was banned ?
i think bans dont give enough info atm , needs to be
by who , reason , etc
so we can prevent getting banned in future.

Answer for "who" must not be disclosed because there are many problems. It is why, name of staff isn't shown in the message about deleted post.

Reason most probably is is you either trolled/spammed. Avoid doing it. There can be other reasons too but bans for these are high. Reason will be shown in the message but it won't be detailed.
2572  Other / Meta / Re: Quickseller left himself positive trust using an alt account on: April 30, 2015, 01:44:25 PM
MZ, I know you're always careful to support whoever you see as the most powerful in a given context, but how on earth would you have any information about what account the person known (inter alia) as Quickseller considers to be his "main account"?

I should have wrote "AFAIK" first. The first is incorrect. I don't support person with more power unless he should be. I support persons with least/no power too. See Quickseller's feedback on my trust page. He thinks I was vouching for a scammer.

Thank you Smiley
I have never heard of Patroller before

 -snip-

So that means , Moderators are patrollers outside of their Section?
Or is it something else , can i get a profile link to a patroller ?

There is no "Patroller" name, only staff. If a moderator is outside the section he/she is moderating, their position will be "Staff". Mitchell is a patroller outside Dutch board. hilariousandco was a patroller and was promoted.
2574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Remove Satoshi as Founding Member, Says Bitcoin Foundation Director on: April 30, 2015, 01:18:18 PM
You didn't understand this? "Bitcoin Foundation" wants Satoshi to come and tell "Don't remove me!". Then, they will write "We found Satoshi Nakamoto!" and take the credit. Awesome, right?!

I have a hunch that it was done to get some fame/popularity. They ain't that stupid, are they?

2576  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Beware of PayPal and other reversible transfer services on: April 29, 2015, 06:29:42 PM
Why is Bank Transfer not safe? It cannot be reversed as once the money is sent to the bank, it cannot be chargedback.

Chargeback is applicable to anything credit/debit card funded and bank transfer. In simple, chargeback is applicable to almost all fiat transactions.

2577  Other / Meta / Re: Referral Section on: April 29, 2015, 06:17:11 PM
Most PTC sites have such a section and it may not be useful to the forum but to members it can be. It was my suggestion and one may agree to disagree.

This is a forum and is for discussion, not a PTC/PTW/etc... site.(no offence).

As I have said in my post, oy spambots can benefit from it. Members who manually posts barely gets traffics unless users go through all threads which is very unusual. It will be hard to moderate too. If it isn't moderated, chance for double posts are very high. There is nothing for forum and members to gain from it.

-snip-
People who want to advertise their referral link should make a choice whether they need a paid sig in their signature or referral link. Their choice.

What kind of website's referral are you talking about? I think that the games and rounds section would be appropriate for most websites. You could start a topic dedicated to referrals specifically.

It's against forum rule to start a thread solely to advertise referral link.
2578  Other / Meta / Re: Quickseller left himself positive trust using an alt account on: April 29, 2015, 06:01:59 PM
^
If by "main account" you mean "account being used now," then this is my main account Undecided

No but it can happen. The "account he is giving more importance to" is the "account he is using now".
2579  Other / Meta / Re: Referral Section on: April 29, 2015, 05:53:42 PM
It is not allowed except in your signature and in the threads you created not solely for advertising.

Usually you can post the normal link then include a referral link in ( ) next to it with a note saying 'here is an optional ref link' or something.

I think that should be allowed.

No. It is still spam.

The same question i asked in this community few months earlier,

The Answer i got from many reputable member is that "You can use your ref link, but with ref link you will have to use non ref link." And i did the same in Gambling Section and Nothing Happened to my post.

Thanks

~ OTS ~
I don't know why people say this, but no it's not true. Spam is spam, doesn't matter if you add a non ref link. Welsh's post is correct.

You are allowed to put your refferal link on your signature
So, when you make promotion, ask users to join through refferal link on your signature
And you might want to use link shortener, so every user can't know the refferal link

Any you should know it already when you join this forum

Still referral spam.

If you pay people to register under your ref link it works on games and rounds, also sometimes when people find new promos or giveaways they give their ref link and a non ref link, seems to be allowed aswell.

Still referral spam.

I thought of suggesting a section may be like "Advertise Here" which could allow one to post referral links or exchange referrals (it it could be allowed).

I don't want to see "Trashcan v3". There certainly won't be any use to it. Owners of spambots will only be the persons who gain from it. People who want to advertise their referral link should make a choice whether they need a paid sig in their signature or referral link. Their choice.

Now it seems you can add a referral link only in the signature

True but you can also add referral link in some posts.

or as marco has stated.

I am surprised to see you agreed to this. You already saw BadBear's post in previous thread about referral link.
2580  Other / Meta / Re: Should we consider moving 'Beginners & Help' from 'Other' to 'Bitcoin' category on: April 29, 2015, 05:37:53 PM
I haven't seen many off-topic questions in the sections you mentioned which belongs in 'Beginners & Help'.

'Beginners & Help' belongs to 'Other' because users make/post threads/questions which is not related to Bitcoin. So these questions will be off-topic if it is moved to 'Bitcoin' category. This fits whete it is now. No need to move IMHO.

Edit: redsn0w beat me.
