In my opinion, I think we will be stuck in one price or maybe worse we will all go down.

Here is what happened when US citizens are saving too much.

Quote
That's important because American spenders make up the majority -- about 70% -- of economic activity in the country. If people don't spend, the economy doesn't grow.

Check it out here

In my opinion and own thought, if people will not use to spend their bitcoin, the circulation within the international market regarding bitcoin cryptocurrency will be abundant because no people want to spend it so how will it work ad a currency if we will just hold it and just wait until it pump? We do need to spend it into investments, buying needs and wants to make the currency working and continue to circulate making its demands higher that will lead to its price hike.
3462  Economy / Economics / Re: 1Bitcoin as a gift from someone on: September 10, 2017, 03:14:46 PM
If you be given a gift of 1BTC by someone and for you this amount is already something you did not expect. Will you sell your bitcoin right away and convert it into cash or just keep it for a better price to come or invest it or what?
Wow. It will be such a great opportunity and blessing to receive 1 bitcoin as a gift from someone specially in our current time wherein 1 bitcoin really cost that much because its price rate in the market is continuously changing and rising as time passes by. So if I will be given a chance to receive 1 bitcoin as a gift, I will surely treasure it for a long time because I know it has a great potential to grow more.

3464  Economy / Economics / Re: Holdings of gold vs Holdings of btc on: September 08, 2017, 04:41:12 PM
Does anyone have any idea how many people are using gold as a store of value vs btc?  And how long do you think until we have the same user Base as holders of gold?
It is a real far situation if we will compare the distance of the price market cap of the two existing currencies that is present and widely use by many people in the world. Yes bitcoin price rate is do really rising that can somewhat make it a little bit near to approach gold but the reality is gold value will surely to rise for a lifetime because of its natural preference compared to bitcoin that the assurance to last for a lifetime is still unknown.
3465  Economy / Economics / Re: Are cryptocurrencies better than regular currency on: September 03, 2017, 10:51:04 PM
Honestly I believe bitcoin is better since one you don't use your credit card so you don't loose you needed cash but instead your cash that you could easily earn back from mining. Plus, it's open to all ages unlike credit cards.
I think it is still better if we all holding both currencies which are the cryptocurrencies and real currencies because in our time, there are still states and countries who are not yet operating and accepting bitcoin because bitcoin may not yet been established or been legalize into their country. Also those currencies have different usage with regards to different situation because both have different specialization when it comes to usage. So it is still better if we hold both currencies.
3466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin transaction fees fair? on: September 03, 2017, 12:15:47 PM
Everyone wanted higher bitcoin price and we achieved this but another problem become transaction fees. When bitcoin's price was low, we had to pay also low fee and now when it rised, we have to pay high fee in bitcoins and plus that high fee is more higher with current price. Is this fair? The higher the price, the more money miners have with bitcoin exchange.
To my mind when price becomes high, we have to pay low fee and when it becomes low, than fee has to be high. To my mind it had to be done like this from the begining.
I think the rise of transaction fees is just fair because bitcoin price rate also rises which means greater opportunity to gain and earn an income. It is not fair if we bitcoin users are earning big but those people who are behind the processing of our transactions which are the miners are just earning a little amount because we prefer of paying low transaction fees for the transaction process to be done as soon as possible. The rise of the price rate is pretty nice so as is with the transaction fee rate. They must both come along with the rise so that both parties between the users/consumers and the miners will be just fair and equal so no one will be left behind and just one party will be dominant over the other.
3467  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin now the strongest currency in the world? on: September 03, 2017, 09:37:57 AM
After the events of last week.

I was making this suggestion to some folks yesterday, but they claimed that bitcoin is too small.  Does it matter?
How that folks can claim that bitcoin is too small? Can't they see that bitcoin is a fast growing cryptocurrency that has already been widely used worldwide? Imagine, it has already surpassed the gold price value for just a little time span from the year it was established. They are just making mere speculations about bitcoin because they cannot admit that bitcoin is now being a strong currency that can be aligned with the leading international currencies which are dollars, euros, etc. Bitcoin to be true is a fast phasing cryptocurrency.
3468  Economy / Economics / Re: A wise strategy for your bitcoin on: September 03, 2017, 08:09:46 AM
Hello everyone, I want to share about my strategy with bitcoin and I need your advice.
So the example is, I've buy bitcoin in price $2000/btc with amount $750 so I have 0.375 btc. When the price climb to $4100/btc, I sell my 0.184 btc to get my first capital and get $754.4 and 0.191 btc left .then when the price dump again to around $3900, I buy it again with my $754.4, so I get 0.193xxx btc and  my total btc is 0.384xx. With my $750 I can keep increase my bitcoin with this strategy. So what do you think. Am I doing right with my bitcoin? Or you have any advice. Please explain.
Of course you really did a great work that you call strategy on wisely handling your bitcoin earnings. It was also the same thing that I do on my own bitcoin earnings and I bet most of the bitcoin users also do to gain an extra income from their investments and by doing buy and sell work outs for their bitcoin. But doing such thing requires you to be observant and aware of bitcoin price rate status to be able to know if you are going to buy or sell your bitcoin holdings.
3469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people left their full-time employment to go into Bitcoin? on: September 03, 2017, 05:04:22 AM
I was talking to a friend the other day and he told me that two of his friends has left their full-time employment to concentrate on their Bitcoin ventures. < One in Crypto currency trading and the other into imports & exports, linked to ecommerce >

In light of the fact that Bitcoin is still experimental and very volatile, would you say that this was a good or a bad decision and would you do the same?

How many people have done this already?
It depends to them if they will be just satisfied focusing on one source of income which is bitcoin but they must not be dependent in bitcoin's capability to give and provide you an income because it takes time which can be extended and also the price rate cannot be always assured to be on hike and also there will be variations that it may be failed to gain in the investment or any way you have involved to earn bitcoin. It is still best to work on both which is real job or physical job and also working into bitcoin cryptocurrency because you can have a two source of income enabling you to have two incomes that is beneficial on your part. Having two source of income means a great count of income to sustain your needs.
3470  Economy / Economics / Re: Where did you first heard about Bitcoins? on: September 02, 2017, 11:54:11 PM
In my personal experience, I first heard of it 1 year ago in a online forum game, people sold gold for Bitcoins, around March, gave it no importance at first. Now im kinda utterly commited to it. Really an interest subject of study.
I have first gathered my information and knowledge about bitcoin just a couple of months ago when I have overheard it from a group of friends which are my classmates and they are talking about bitcoin. Due to curiousity, I asked them because it really caught my attention that there is an existing thing that can provide you an income online. After that conversation with them, I started searching about bitcoin until I fully understand it and until now, I am working into bitcoin to experience what they have experienced when they have started working on it..
3471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep buying? on: September 02, 2017, 10:30:23 PM
Bitcoin price keeps increasing. Price is x10 considering last year. Even 25k-50k-100k is predicted.

Are you adding more bitcoin by buying with cash? or you trade or invest in ICOs & altcoins in order to increase the amount you have?

or do you just hold what you have?
I actually do both. Because as I observe, Bitcoin's price rate is really leading to its continuous hike an indication that I can earn more if I will have a great count of bitcoin in my hand. I spend cash to buy bitcoins because I believe that I can gain a positive feedback from spending spending cash and earning it in the form of bitcoin. I also do trades and investments into ICO's and alternate coins for me to be able to obtain large quantity of coins that I can trade into bitcoin cryptocurrency.
3472  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the economy situation in your country that bad? on: September 02, 2017, 09:48:54 PM
It seems there are bad news all around with doom and gloom. Trade figures going down, jobs cuts, security situation not going well, and bad loans.

Is the economy situation in your country that dismal? Or this is just some fear mongering?

Those stuffs do really happen here in our country. It seems that there are lots of informal settlers around begging and asking for a little amount of money because their main reason is that they do not have an opportunity to work for themselves to sustain their needs. Also a lot of unemployed workers are always present in our community that cause crimes and deaths of many innocent individuals because they are said to be under the influence of illegal drugs. When it comes to economic standing, our country is somehow putting itself into rise by merging to other states and countries for some economic progress and also doing trades and investments to gain and support the needs of its people.
3473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Become A Bitcoin Expert on: September 02, 2017, 11:43:06 AM
Hello, I've been hovering around bitcoin for months and I want to become an expert in it. What resources are available and what steps can I take to know all there is to know about bitcoin and possibly reproduce the technology involved.
Thank you.
I think there is no need for you to dream of becoming an expert in bitcoin cryptocurrency because earning an income is the main reason why we all gathered here right? But I think on that matter, you can be an expert in bitcoin cryptocurrency if you are willing to learn from the basics of bitcoin by reading articles maybe on Google. Also you can learn it by reading into this forum to gather informations about bitcoin cryptocurrency. It will take time for you to be able to become an expert to a certain thing like bitcoin because it is not a constant thing but rather it is a continuously growing thing in terms of cryptocurrency that maybe hard to study. But as long as you have the will, you can be an expert with this.
3474  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we push the actual use of Bitcoin ? on: September 01, 2017, 11:11:35 AM
I and many others just hold their bitcoins and wait till it gets worth more. But that is not how a currency should work. A currency is meant to be used in daily trades for groceries and so on.

My question is how can we push the actual use of the bitcoin and what is nessacary to do that ?

I think first, we should wait till the scaling problem is hopefully solved in near future, because right now even if I had f.e. a grocery store, I would not accept Bitcoin as payment becasue of the confirmation time of the tx (I would hand out some coupons which can be bought for BTC)

After this problem is solved this would be my ideas, I hope you help me gather more:

  • Convince organisations like amnesty international to accept bitcoin as donations
  • Convince big internet companies like amazon to accept payments via bitcoin, this should take a while but with some petitions they might consider it (propably better starting with some smaller companies)
  • Start accepting bitcoins yourself, not only on the interent but for example if you are a student and do some private tutoring, and have a small ad for you on a blackboard somewhere, you could print a "Bitcoin accepted" on it.
Indeed. A real characteristic of a currency was to be capable of being use as a term of payment in various business establishments. But the statement that we must push bitcoin usage, I think it is no need for that thing to do. Because with its own features providing real benefits into mankind, many people will be just get attracted into it and will continue and pursue using it on a daily life situation. As retailers and businessmen will see that the consumers demand was to widely use bitcoin for payment purpose, they will surely implement the operation of bitcoin usage to get along with the consumers demands, needs and wants. Because that is how business runs. Go with the majority flow.
3475  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: August 27, 2017, 05:34:17 PM
Coinbase CEO believes bitcoin will replace dollar within 15 years.

Read the following news:
http://cointelegraph.com/news/114983/coinbase-ceo-bitcoin-will-replace-dollar-within-15-years

Do you think it will be true? Are you positive towards bitcoin's future status?
I think no. Maybe bitcoin will just line up with the various type of popular currencies in the world like dollar but it will not replace them. Actually cryptocurrencies like bitcoin and alternate coins are the technological and modern innovation of currency that can be accessed online through the use of internet connection. It just so happen that bitcoin has a greater rate compared to dollars that is why many people think that it will replace dollar soon.  But I think it is not. Because they can still work on together servicing the people worldwide. In fact many people still needs dollars and just got engage to bitcoin to gain more and then will exchange it to fiat in terms of dollars to preferably use on consumption of different products and services offered by business establishments..
3476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin acceptance on: August 27, 2017, 04:35:19 PM
You can pay with Bitcoin in several stores and even restaurants here in Germany. Are we the only one who have this?  Huh
Actually there are lots of other countries and even states around the world who have already been started on operating and using bitcoin in their business establishments to be their term of payment because their government have already been accepted bitcoin usage to be establish in their country. Looking forward that sooner or later the other states and countries will thoroughly follow legalizing bitcoin to let them experience bitcoin provided benefits through its fascinating features.
3477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should focus more on saving bitcoins than selling your bitcoins on: August 27, 2017, 02:08:59 PM
Bitcoin has become the world most valuable asset and the value keeps going higher!

Why not we should focus on saving more bitcoins than selling our last remaining bitcoins?

I read and hear from a lot of guys owning bitcoin saying, should I sell my bitcoins?

The issues is, if you sell all your bitcoins when are you going to buy at lower price?

There's no guarantee when exactly bitcoin price will surely come down.

Share your thoughts about what you think guys. Smiley
You are right at that point that we must focus on saving our bitcoins instead of selling it when the price gets high or get into pump situation. But we cannot tell it or control people mindset upon selling their bitcoin. Because selling their bitcoin is a strategic or desperate way of earning a large amount of money instantly. Thinking that with the use of this way, they can earn more than enough what they usually have. Also, maybe the reason why they sell their bitcoin is that they will use it to buy more bitcoins in exchange and sell it again and then buy another one just to maximize and extend their asset capacity of holding many bitcoins.
3478  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin benefit of saving for a long time? on: August 27, 2017, 03:28:29 AM
why so many people store their bitcoin in their wallet for a long time, whether the benefits will they get?

Come share your thoughts

Bitcoin has been known to have a feature of its price being volatile and earning an income online. So people tend to save their bitcoin for a long period of time because by just simply saving and holding your bitcoin, you are already gaining an income that came from your initial holdings. This enables us to gain more than what we have. And that was the benefit of saving bitcoin for a long time due to the reason that bitcoin price rises as time passes by. Which literally means that your initial holding can grow more than the usual.
3479  Economy / Economics / Re: lest we forget, Bitcoin is a blessing. on: August 26, 2017, 03:39:09 PM
Bitcoin has pass through many stage, limitations, attack and forks issue but its price keep on increasing from inception till now. At this time Last year bitcoin price was $450 but today it is $1245 that was over 180% increment in just a year. This is what we call blessing, that is making progress in the face of strong opposition!!
Indeed. Because despite of many circumstances that have been faced by the bitcoin cryptocurrency, even there are many people who have lost their trust upon it, still bitcoin specifically its price is continuously rising that attracts many people to stay and keep on holding into bitcoin. There are lots of opposition regarding bitcoin's capacity and capability but bitcoin proves that it is still a tough cryptocurrency that can improve and still be a beneficial thing for the sake of many people that have been using it.
3480  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin prices rise high on: August 26, 2017, 07:03:48 AM
Many people are now curious to know what bitcoin is, whereas once bitcoin was just underestimated, now upside down many people stop working instead they prefer to focus on bitcoin

Is this the impact of rising bitcoin prices?

Maybe yes. Because people really tend to bash and create mere speculations when they see something strange to a certain thing that is new to their sight. That is why when bitcoin is still on its low price because it is just newly established, people are already stating that bitcoin will soon crash and die that quick. But now, they all have been proven to be just speculations because now those people who underestimated bitcoin is now a part of its massive number of consumers supporting bitcoin because they have already saw that bitcoin is really beneficial to help them earn a living. Bitcoin's price hike is really a good factor attracting many potential investors that will surely contribute to the continuous rise of the price.
