In my personal experience, I first heard of it 1 year ago in a online forum game, people sold gold for Bitcoins, around March, gave it no importance at first. Now im kinda utterly commited to it. Really an interest subject of study.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I heard about it while searching for a way to exchange my PSC to Paypal (or something like that) which lead me to this forum and this was on the start of 2014 however I wasn't really interested , but with time ... I found my self on videos about Bitcoin on YouTube while I was Youtubing something about Paypal then I got interested and here I'm . Grin

I heard about Bitcoin a number of years ago on YouTube, but I wasn't interested at the time. Late 2013, when the price of Bitcoin skyrocketed, was when I actually got into Bitcoin. I started mining using my computer (which wasn't a good idea) and used faucets (which wasn't a good idea either).

I heard about bitcoin in 2011 itself but did not show interest to buy it. I check bitcoin.org website in 2011 itself, but could not get any idea on mining process or any faucets idea from there. The only reason for that must be I was not aware of this wonderful forum at that time. I was too late to join this forum from that.

i heard about it in 2011 or 2012, whenever it was bitcoin was worth nothing and it just looked like some stupid internet thing that would never kick off. Why would you need money stored on your computer? Im not even sure what made me get into it when i did.

Last year; when I saw Bitcoin donation option on a site. Found it rather fascinating with the ability to create addresses without any form of verification and the low fees. Found this forum some time after that.

Exactly same thing happened with me I thought it's some online scam and ignored it but after 6 or 7 months I heard about it from my colleague and I was bit hesitant I waited and for one more month before getting involved in Bitcoin to check whether he really makes money out of it or not and he did made a good amount of money then I joined BTC and rest is history.

I was introduced to Bitcoin by some nerds that were mining with their home PC at the end of 2012. I didn't spend much attention to Bitcoin because I had other interests back then. They somewhat forced me to look into Bitcoin, and they showed me there is some money to be made via mining. That's when I started to get interested. Once I noticed that my home PC was not capable of mining a worthy amount of coins in a day, I got disappointed and left. For some reason I went back to Bitcoin again in the beginning of 2013, and I bought myself some coins instead of mining them. That's when it all started for me.

In the news of course. I remember that was in the second half of 2012, but I forgot on what website it was. A British website probably, possibly the BBC. I wish I had bought some BTC right away.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

My first time  i heard about bicoins.
That must be in november 2013. About 2 years ago.
I saw an article in the journal about someone in norwegian or so who had baught some bitcoins in the beginning for a few dollars and now they seemed to be 1000 dollar worth.
He had sold them all and bought an appartment with the money.
He first had to search for his code and wallet.dat, but luckely he found it.
Than i have been looking around for information about bicoin.

Please use the search function before duplicating a thread that's been duplicated a million bajillion times.

I first learned about bitcoin through a personal friend, who's a very active member of this forum. He told me about bitcoin faucets, which I got hooked on, until I heard about all the things I could do with bitcoin. I started to code my own site that integrated with the blockchain.info API, and successfully sold it. Cheesy

Hahaha, exact same for me. Smiley Had these friends which mined on their PCs and asked me to mine too back in 2013, and then they crazily bought thousands of MoonCoins and DogeCoins, when dogecoin was ~289/DC and ~89/MC. I was using a laptop so I didn't mine, and got to know about faucets soon (LandOfBitcoin), and soon wondered some questions about bitcoin, asked Google, and here are my answers. Cheesy

Glad that I heard of it back then. Grin

I first heard of bitcoin back in roughly 2010 listening to max kaiser on the Alex jones radio show,  how i wished i had listened harder.  they worth worth less than a doller then i think.  i then really got in to them in 2013 and have been buying ever since.   Grin
