If Sancho doesn’t join Man Utd I wonder who their 2nd option is. They are obviously willing to spend big money to attempt to bridge tye gap between themselves & Liverpool & Man City. Who knows, maybe they might look to Mbappe?
3482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: August 11, 2020, 09:28:06 AM
PSG & City are both in false positions due their, some might say, financial doping. They find a way around the rules though (probably bribery). It is what it is & they both look like they are here to stay. Personally I am rooting for Leipzig or Atalanta to win as an underdog, failing that Bayern or Barca for their prestige & heritage.

As long as he's got 2 feet and remains healthy, I'm happy with the Tsimikas deal.

We really needed cover for Robertson and Milner neither wants to play there nor can run up and down all the time anymore. He's a great cover if Tsimikas doesn't fit into the team but left back was a position where we really needed a player - any player that is left-footed and can run.

I don't expect much, from the few clips I saw his passing isn't up to standard and he dives into tackles too often. But I'm sure our scouting department did their research and they did pick up some gems before. Hopefully Tsimikas will be at least decent.

Milner was capable of playing there but I saw two games of him deputising there & the opposition targeted him both times for his lack of pace. He was yellow carded both times so Liverpool had to provide a better cover for Robertson.

So Inter & Man Utd advance to the EL semi finals. Who will join them?

Shakhtar vs Basel
Wolverhampton vs Sevilla

Perfect, kudos to sportsbet for topping up the prize pot. Not long to go until the new season starts, looking forward to it already. I wonder how long until fans will be able to return.

I'm not totally familiar with the offside rules but as far as I can tell, they apply when the ball is received and on none of those occasions could I see a player in the offside section. The ruling in the game should have been a goal.

Totally out of my realm, though: someone more familiar with football should chime in. Smiley

No, the offside rule applies from when the ball is played to the guy ruled offside (the second it leaves his team mates foot/chest/head).

Both blue shirted players are in an offside position when the ball is played towards them.
To be ONSIDE the dude receiving the ball would have to be level with or the other side of the GK (last defender in this play).

Correct decision. I’ve been a huge football fan my entire life.
If the GK was where he should be......in his goal then it would be ONSIDE.

Grayscale aren’t messing around are they. This is exactly what we need, pushing bitcoin into the face of average joe is exactly what we need to ensure this bull run is something we’ve never seen before.

Zidane is currently a bigger player than a coach as he had a brilliant career winning everything during his period. Now as coach he started like no other one so I think in time he will be the greatest coach but he should've move to Juventus but instead they signed Pirlo... . Also Pep is a great coach but his career as a football player was great even if we didn't hear about him but he had a strong presence in the pitch and a lot of ex players told this about Pep.

For Zidane - No Ronaldo, no party. I don’t think he’s a great coach, all of those CL wins were largely dictated by Ronaldo in his peak. Look at Zidane since Ronaldo left.

Of course, Barca vs Bayern are difficult to make a decisions for bets. Because both have lot of good quality players.
I doubt. Bayern is favorite here. They are in formed with so many stars in the team. Unless Bayern makes a major mistake, chance for Barca to win the match is very low. I would be putting my money on Bayern of course. And tonight, I have risked a little BTC for PSG. The odd was ~2.1 which I guess good as the other side Atalanta. Expecting PSG to win the match easily.

Never rule Barca out of any match, Messi can pull a rabbit out of a hat at any moment. I haven’t seen too much of Atalanta, is Mbappe fit now because if he’s not it could make that match more even.

In before it's announced that Sarri has been given the sack due to Juve dropping out of the CL.  I'm pretty pretty sure coinlocket$ will be sooo happy.  Grin

I wonder who they're getting to replace him.  I hope not Bielsa.  He seems to be the hot prospect these days.

My guess is somebody like Poch. It’s not going to be Pep like a lot of Italian media keep reporting, why would he leave City? I just don’t see that happening at all.

Barca vs Napoli & Bayern vs Chelsea tonight, the latter is a dead rubber as Bayern lead 3-0 from the first leg. Barca vs Napoli should be a real battle though.

Looking forward to this season  Wink

Not long to go now, once the CL is over it’s only about a month until the new season starts. It’s possibly the only good thing out of the corona virus break to the football, we more or less get going straight away.
3494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: August 08, 2020, 09:24:17 AM
It wasn't to be at all, was it now? I actually ended up not watching the games, had some infernal thing to deal with, so I was updated the scores. Lyon actually held on, wonderful for the underdog, that precious away goal from Depay wow.

Reading the headlines, seems City is no longer "overawed" by Champs League but I have to say, this wasn't a vintage team put out there either, judging from the starting lineup.

Have an all-favs parlay still alive. Much of the same tonight?

Real were embarrassing, was Varane high? Never seen him play so badly, he gifted City both goals. I guess it shows how important Ramos is, they literally fell apart at the back without him. City have effectively got a pass into the semi finals now. Lyon finished 7th in France, I know they have some talent but they’re not great.
3495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why only Bitvest and 777Coin on: August 07, 2020, 11:44:41 AM
They’re a fairly low paying signature campaign, I was in it a few years ago & they repeatedly had delays paying, when I say delays I mean literally over 2 months without paying their campaign participants. I’m sure the sites earn well but I would never work with them again.
3496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: August 07, 2020, 11:29:58 AM
Juventus vs Lyon - I think Juve will overturn the deficit of the first leg, they know how to win at this stage of the competition. CR7 is ready.

Man City vs Real - City should advance but there is a sneaky suspicion Real will pull-off a surprise.
3497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 07, 2020, 11:27:21 AM
You're kidding, right? Without any bias, it just has to be Trent Alexander-Arnold. He scored some amazing goals, had over 10 assists from the full-back position and was a constant starter in a record-breaking champions team.

I was against the POTS reward for Henderson because I think De Bruyne was a class of his own this season and so was Alexander-Arnold for young player of the year award.

Rashford was decent, but my opinion is that it's not even close.

Trent AA has become European, World & English League Champion in the last year breaking assist records for a fullback. Rashford has, well, done nothing. It’s no competition who wins the YPOTY.

I think it was quite interesting that Istanbul lost, they won the first game and they became the champions in Turkish league as well, so I was expecting them to be a lot better, I bet on them to win and it was good odds as well, even if you check the odds you would realize that nobody really expected a 3-0 type of difference but they got destroyed pretty easily as well.

In any case that was a bad night for me but I am sure I will definitely get this time around right, I know it is not going to be much better this round. Also looking like next round is getting better to understand which one would be won or not. Champions league can't come quick enough, I want to bet on those games so much, this year really went by with absolutely boring without a proper league but as soon as it came back everything is much more fun.

It is what happened to Liverpool. They became crowned champions and then they partied and lost 4-0 to City. But I guess their coach knew this would happen and allowed it for them,,, this was for me the difference with many top teams where Liverpool coach is so strict, but when he lets them celebrate, they celebrate.

Yes when a team has been following strict rules, eating & living well for such a long time to finally reach their goal of becoming champions. It’s hard to continue the same motivation once you reach your season long goal so I guess a drop off in intensity is natural.

Aubameyang is about to end speculation about future with Arsenal and is about to sign a new three year deal. Happy to see Arsenal meeting the player demands.

Relief for all Gooners fans, I thought he was going to leave. With the form he’s been in for the last 2 seasons he could get into most teams, I’m surprised he will settle for Europa League football with Arsenal.

easy peasy Cool

Next week, quarter finals:

Shakhtar Donetsk - Basel
Manchester United - FC Copenhagen
Inter Milan - Bayer Leverkusen
Wolverhampton - Sevilla

in bold, my picks to advance to the semis

Is that the confirmed 1/4 final line-up, is the draw made already?
