3521  Other / Politics & Society / Re: AFRICA: where did they lose it ? on: April 19, 2021, 12:24:38 PM
Africa had been the cradle of civilization since human existence but along the way something happened they lost everything, no power no might no authority, nothing literally nothing, everything was lost all of a sudden the same Africa that was labeled the cradle of civilization was also tagged with incessant racial abuses, violence and attacks.
Egypt as we all know is the cradle of civilization and it is situated in Africa I don’t want to lay emphasis on how Egypt lost it entirely, but rather how come Africa lost it entirely, para venture the Egyptians lost it at least another African country/state/nation would have risen to collect the mantle of leadership the United States of America is enjoying now. This is not a long thread but just a question from a concerned fellow willing to know why Africa lost the mantle of leadership.
Meanwhile please I don’t want religious people to come under the comment section to quote the holy book for me/us all , I only need I need philosophical ideas why you think Africa lost it, also don’t misunderstand this piece I’m not saying there’s no African state doing well that’s not the point .

The problem I see with Africa is that lost their wars in the past and were being subjugated by either Britain or France. Almost all of the African continent was either a colony of one of these two countries. Sure Germany and Italy had some land too but fairly small compared to the other two. The colonies meant that all the local resources were exported to support either France or Britain. There were no big investments in their countries. On top of that were there countries like USA who exported the local population as slave labors. If Africa would have been able to survive on it own and repel all the foreign invasion they would be in a much better position today.
3522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel, Looking at the Bullrun market? on: April 19, 2021, 12:19:57 PM
Are you sad to see the current market situation? YES to ME  Cry
1. Seeing insane eth gas costs, Unable to trade small amounts of tokens due to expensive shipping costs.
2. Seeing the increase in the price of BTC reaching the new ATH, I can't do much because I don't have any BTC investments or other coin investments whose prices have gone up.

Oh my GOD .. my life is very sad. I hope BTC and ETH prices drop dramatically, amen  Grin

I feel similar to you, my investments are quite small and it is also not good to trade them because of the high fees. Buying new coins near the ATH seems not like the best idea. But the good thing of the crypto market is that everything happens in cycles. It kind of makes me sad to think about if I just had bought some coins in October last year. With hindsight it would have been so easy to make some money. Unfortunately we will just have to wait for better prices again.
3523  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you handle stress? on: April 19, 2021, 12:12:44 PM
Good answers. I can also add that you should not be lazy and clean up your house/apartment. It is important because clutter makes our life chaotic and we lose our sense of control. Thanks to the article https://www.homoq.com/mess-ruins-our-lives/ I learned a lot. Everything would not be so bad if it were not for a bunch of unpleasant things that improve the quality of your life. I, too, used to be lazy, and realized that in vain, you need to clean up everything at once and life will become easier.

That is a good advice, living in an cleaned up apartment will make it easier for us to relax after work. Especially now in times of home office we spent so much more time indoors than before. Having an organised and cleaned house or apartment should be the first step towards a good working environment. Another good feature of a cleaned up place is that it becomes much easier to keep everything in order. Once we have a fixed place for everything we notice if something is out of place.
3524  Economy / Economics / Re: Is master card giving us the go ahead to keep buying coins on: April 19, 2021, 12:03:43 PM
Dear @op, Mastercard is not a credit card company. It is a settlement provider for the plastic cards that banks provide to us!  So Mastercard is adding options to settle cryptos as well to make cryptocurrency more usable and also to fill their own coffers. Visa has planned a Similar approach.

These companies are technologically innovative companies so they quite well understand the future business market. So it is no wonder that they are trying to adopt and use cryptocurrency in their daily business. Just a wise survival strategy for the future!

Mastercard is a credit company that offers money to the customers to be paid at the end of the month. There is usually a certain limit on each card that we can use. As you said that these are tech companies who work well with payment transfers. Going into the crypto world is a good way to prepare for the future and try to offer more payment options. Mastercard is a global company that deals in all kind of currencies.
3525  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you want from 2021 ? on: April 19, 2021, 11:22:10 AM

I know we are all hoping for a better year, even if you did well in 2020 it can (and will) get better.

What are you hoping for, wishing for, or are going to MAKE happen for you in 2021 ?

My biggest goals for 2021 are to live a more healthy lifestyle and grow my crypto portfolio. Times are still tough, lockdown continues, everything is closed and the economy is hurting. But we need to think long term. Planning for 5 and 10 years is especially important during difficult times like we face right now.
3526  Economy / Economics / Re: Charlie Munger: "Bitcoin is an artificial substitute for Gold" on: April 19, 2021, 11:16:39 AM
I don't know how there are so many people in this thread who resent the comparison to gold. Saylor himself says that Bitcoin is gold 2.0. Bitcoin is to gold what email is to mail.

What it does seem is that he says it in a slightly derogatory way, but you have to think that he doesn't need the Bitcon to get rich, and that he is at the end of his life already.

Yeah he is quite old and probably has no big stake in bitcoins. But still at his age to be involved with cryptos is remarkable. Comparing email and mail to bitcoin and gold is great. Sending mail is a logistical nightmare, the same goes dir storing physical gold. Having an online based alternative is just the way to go. Which doesn't mean that gold is going to disappear. In today's world we need Mail and Email, like we need gold and bitcoins.
3527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be over ambitious on: April 19, 2021, 11:11:05 AM
The crypto currency space is a very volatile place where anything can happen in a short time frame. No one either experts or not can call the top and bottom in crypto currrency market; we should always remember that our business in crypto currency market, trading is to take profit.

More importantly; don't be over ambitious to help someone to buy tokens, never do it. Instead educate and teach them how to do it, and the risks involved.

I fully agree with you. Investing in crypto currencies should always be our own decision. We can make recommendations but of we tell a friend to buy a certain coin and that is going to drop in value than we are on the hook. Giving bad investment advise with certainty can ruin friendships. That is why I tell all my friends to only invest with money that they can afford to lose. And be ready to invest for a longer period of time if prices are moving in the wrong direction.
3528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be a Responsible Gambler on: April 19, 2021, 11:06:26 AM
That is why if someone gambles using borrowed money, of course they will not concentrate on playing because they think of two things between being able to win the game to get a profit from it and thinking that they should be able to return the money.  they will play greedily when they have few victories and will never be satisfied.  Especially if someone does not have a job and makes gambling a source of income to be able to earn money, of course that is a very wrong mindset, because most people gamble just to find fun and try their luck

Gambling can indeed promise some people luck
but with the wrong mindset can certainly make things worse.

I find it quite alarming to use borrowed money for gambling. The only way that should be done would be if we can be a 100% certain of winning. If that's not the case than the risks of losing the money is just too high for me. If the loan is small it could work but if we have no real way to repay the loan than we are screwed. Losing borrowed money means we lost the money twice. First we lost all our gambling money and secondly we still have to repay the loan. This could hurt us for years and years to come.
3529  Economy / Economics / Re: Raising the stock market after Covid-19 on: April 19, 2021, 10:50:13 AM
bitcoin is currently making headlines in the stock market, because of its fantastic price increase. this makes crypto the favorite trade. but we also have to study its characteristics first before deciding to invest in it
It is taking the attention of many stock market traders and investors because of its performance. I have a personal friend who's into stocks and asked me about crypto and he's getting interested on it because he has said that there's more gain and action into this market.

And as he asks me if I've got a stock, I said no, I've chosen crypto over stocks because I've seen that I can take advantage of its volatility which I can tolerate.

Choosing cryptos over stocks is a good idea but I would prefer to take advantage of both if possible. At the moment there can be a lot of money be made in both markets. The corona relief funds seem to be doing a job on boosting the stock market.I heard from two good friends who received money from the government that the invested it in stocks. They have two small businesses but didn't really need the money so they just invested it.
3530  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Takes one to know one': Putin mocks Biden over 'killer' remark on: April 19, 2021, 10:45:55 AM
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday mocked his US counterpart Joe Biden, escalating a war of words between the two world leaders.

Putin said “it takes one to know one” after Biden, a day earlier, said he thought the Russian leader was a “killer”.

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/3/18/it-takes-one-to-know-one-putin-mocks-biden-over-killer-remarks

Biden is just trying to look though. I don't think he has any interest in a direct confrontation with Russia. The whole world is still suffering from the corona pandemic. We all need time of peace to grow and prosper again. Ukraine looks like a stalemate at the moment. Any new military actions in the regions would be wrong.
3531  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about Gay community ? on: April 19, 2021, 10:42:26 AM
Nobody should be killed for their sexual orientation. We are living in 2021, humans evolved a lot. Everybody has the right for privacy. As long as you don't hurt anybody what is the problem? We should all be more open towards people who are different.
3532  Other / Off-topic / Re: gambling on: April 19, 2021, 10:40:03 AM
And how do you usually spend your free time from work? What can you say about gambling? Which casino can I start playing?

At the moment I still work from home so I spend almost all my time at home. Gambling a little is a great time to not get bored. If you are looking for a new casino try out 777 https://777coin.com/, they are pretty cool with a large variety of games.
3533  Economy / Economics / Re: Janet Yellen to call for unified global corporate tax rate on: April 19, 2021, 10:37:50 AM
President Trump makes a wonderful decision by reducing the corporate tax to 21% and in the season when the pandemic has caused alot of damage there's a need for an increase of corporate tax but the 28% seems too big and I think 25% will still be fair.

I don't understand the rules and regulations the G20 nation use to operate but countries like Puerto Rico will suffer if they comply with the plan to increase global corporate tax and I don't think it will fair to them if they are forced to comply.

I don't think it's possible to find a solution for all the G20, even if 18 or 19 countries agree then there are a lot of advantages for one country to disagree. Money doesn't know borders and will always relocate to the most attractive countries. There are so many loopholes in tax laws which is why the big tax consultantancies are making so much money. In my opinion the best approach would be to simplify the tax laws tremendously. But this seems utopic at the moment.

One Good girl worth  More Than a 1000 bitches  Smiley

Thoughts ?

Yes definitely, but how do you find this 1 good girl among 1000 bitches? They don't wear signs.
3535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Feature Do You Look for In Slot Games? on: April 18, 2021, 07:29:45 AM
•Free spins and other bonus games
•Graphics, layouts, and/or the game developer

Who doesnt love free spins and bonuses? Clearly that people do love it based on the poll.Im much more prefer on playing good looking slots and not minding about RTP's or whatsoever.

I am not an expert on slot games because I tend to lose more than I win. Especially with free spins I tend to be very unlucky. Somehow free spins never give me a good return. That is probably also why I prefer slot games with a jackpot these days. So even if you lose money while gambling you still have the chance to win the jackpots. Almost all of my bigger slot winnings are from Jackpots. If possible I prefer lower volatility games.
3536  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing only for the rich? Think again on: April 18, 2021, 06:36:48 AM
I think yes investment only for the rich but if some one want to invest although have little salary could be happen if try give half of their salary every day use to buy coin still lower price, I think most effective than keep saving money in the bank because bitcoin or altcoin not only function as their saving but also could give benefit with higher price when their assets growing up.

We can all start investing. With only 100 USD we can already buy stocks and partially own a company. It's not only for the rich. The only difference between the rich and the poor is that rich people are able to buy the whole company. There are a lot of mid sized highly profitable companies which will never go public, they are fully owned by a family office and we ordinary investors can't get our hands on it. Nonetheless we are able to start investing small.
3537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experiment - Doubling small stake for big gains on: April 18, 2021, 06:31:03 AM
Good luck buddy. It is always great to see new strategies being tried out here on the forum. I like the small stakes higher risk bets. Unfortunately I lost a bit with football bets this month so now I need to save up again before i can start gambling again. If we take risks we should get rewarded for it. Keep us posted with your strategy.
3538  Other / Off-topic / Re: Covid -19, Stagnant of whole world on: April 17, 2021, 02:00:32 PM
Present time we are going on a pandemic situation. It is covid corona virus that has stopped the world. It is a dangerous virus first affected in China. From then it is spreading all over the world and people die.
COVID-19 is spread through respiratory when an infected person coughs, sneezes or speaks. People can also be infected by touching a contaminated surface and then their mouth or nose.
We have to be careful about the virus. We all shoud abide by the health rules.

Nobody knows the solution now.We must pray to Almighty to get rid of it.

It looks like that the corona virus is going to be with us for a long time. There are already quite a few different mutations which are just going to get more and more in the future. The only real way out of this pandemic is vaccinations in my opinion. We need to reach atleast levels of 70-80% of the population vaccinated to get some kind of herd immunity. Only with mass vaccinations we can make sure to contain the virus in the future.
3539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devices used for Gambling on: April 17, 2021, 07:51:38 AM
Which device is much used for the purpose of gambling these days. Before covid-19 people kept moving without restrictions and the lockdown around the world have made lot of changes in everyone's life. As a result the usage of Mobile devices for the purpose of gambling have decreased and the usage of desktop and laptops have increased. I'm stating this based on friends around me and not on any data gathering. Sorry if things were wrong.

Through this thread lets share the device thats been used by you for the purpose of gambling. My 90% of gambling activities were on Mobile devices. This has given me lots and lots of memories. Whenever I pass some region I remember the loss and the place associated with it.

Aroud my region there is a beauty salon. Crossing that I remember I made an expensive haircut here, because I lost $2000 through gambling while waiting for a haircut. Another one is a hospital where I lost some big amount in the premises. Once lost while waiting for withdrawal from ATM. The biggest and the most remembered is my home where I lost that massive loan amount of about $9500. So, gambling has given me more memories. Cheesy

I prefer to gamble either on my Desktop or on my Tablet. Sometimes I just like to watch TV and gamble a little bit on the side with my tablet. But when I want to concentrate more I prefer gambling on my Desktop PC, it is kind of hard to fully concentrate when lying on the coach or in bed. That is also why I stopped completely gambling on my phone. With mobile gambling I tend to lose too much money. So overall my best pick is definitely Desktop gambling, also because you can watch other gamblers on Twitch or Youtube while doing it.
3540  Economy / Economics / Re: Bernard Madoff dies in prison. A 20 year long Ponzi on: April 16, 2021, 08:39:57 PM
Am still trying to wrap my head around the whole 2 decades part, someone run a ponzi for 2 decade very smoothly and people still patronise the scheme even when knowing it is a ponzi! And here I am thinking a ponzi can't last a decade let alone decades, (learning never stop as long as you breathe)
I don't know anything about his story but I feel he must be a very intelligent and smart guy to have been able to run this scheme for as long as he did before his passing,
Such thing should not be condone but the ability to carry out such activity to that length is unbelievable.

To be honest, Bernie was very unlucky with the 2007/2008 financial crisis. Without the big bust of the housing market and the collapse of the big banks he probably would have been fine. Since most of high clients were rich families who didn't really need the money they were fine by just getting statements with how nice returns they are making. It was the financial crisis and subsequent margin callls in other funds which triggered an outflow of Bernie Madoffs fund. Also they SEC never found out about the Ponzi scheme, he confessed in the end. I saw an interview of one of the SEC lawyers who said that without the financial crisis he probably would have never been caught and they would have only found out about it after his death.
