I never heard of cow racing before, sounds a bit crazy for my taste. Horse racing is very common in my country, but these are not normal horses, they are trained only for racing. There is a large industry behind it because so much money is involved and gambled on their races. I don't think it's right use the cattle that just stands on the field all day for racing. The animals could really harm themselves. Hope this doesn't happen to often.

Interesting question, there were a few things I thought was a tip and ended up hurting me. One of the biggest mistakes I made because of recommendations from others was to sell my bitcoins and move into alt coins. The coin I switched into lost 50% while bitcoins made a few hundred percent. A strong economy will also result in a strong currency, the local people can use their money to buy goods and international investors have confidence in the currency. But when the economy is falling than so is the currency. The government is likely issuing debt and printing money in an effort to help the economy which will weaken the currency even more.
When it comes to bitcoins we could argue that bitcoins are kind of a global currency, but not all countries in the world have the same effect on the world economy. Industrial nations have a much stronger influence, if the 3 largest economies would go into recession than so would the world economy. This doesn't necessary mean that bitcoins would crash too like the local fiat money. I believe that bitcoins have some independence atleast from the economy.

I am not an oracle but I do believe that we will see another bull run. To be honest I already expected the bill run to start on December, right before Christmas. Unfortunaley the new covid variant came and ruined it all. While the news are not the best right now, it will get better next year. The rally is probably not going to come directly in January but more in the spring. It was still a good year for btc and hopefully so will be 2022 with a new ATH.

It's very hard to give general advice on why the alt coin markert drops. What kind of coins are you holding and what are the sizes of your individual positions. When it comes to alt coin trading and investing the biggest factor for me is diversification. I have seen too many promising projects losing 90% of its value, that's why I am not going to put my eggs all in one basket. The largest part of my portfolio is bitcoins, I strongly believe that the most famous crypto coin is going to keep rising. The smallest part of my portfolio are meme coins, here I only invest a few bucks so when they lose value its not really affecting my overall portfolio.
The biggest driver of the alt coin market is bitcoins. If the bitcoins drops in value than its going to pull down the whole market. In December the new covid mutation started spreading around the world and investors are panicking. It's not a serious panic since we don't have many facts yet about omicron variant. It's going to take weeks to analyse if all the vaccines are really useless against it. Against such big news like covid pandemic we can't really protect us, it's general market risk and doesn't mean that your coins are bad.

Bankroll management is one of the hardest things in poker because the swings we can experience when playing no limit holdem is insane. When playing other variants like potlimit then the swings are not so big as we won't be losing our whole buyin with one bad beat. When I first started out with poker I went up the buyins too quickly and ended up going broke a few times. It's best too play dynamically with our bankroll, so as soon as we lose a few buyins it's best to lower our stakes again.

Building a serious bankroll without any starting money is very difficult. Freerolls are usually full of players, so even if you can win 10 or 15 USD it comes down to number players. Isn't that the opposite off a HODL strategy when we try and actively time the bear and bull markets? When it comes to bitcoins I am a huge fan of HODL but when it comes to alt coins I prefer a more active approach. Don't get me wrong, taking profits is important in any trading strategy, it is just that the long term profit from a HODL strategy is beating a lot of the active strategies. Buying before the rally and selling before the drop sounds very cool, but how do we actually know when the trends are switching? Finding the right points to buy and sell is very hard and requires a lot of time and research, following the HODL approach is just so much easier.

A lot of the big investment managers made their fortunes in the 80s and 90s when the margets where booming. They know each other in the industry and have a lot of contacts to the companies they invest in. There were a lot of cases with insider trading that made investors where rich. Back in the days regulation was much more loose than it is today. For the average Joe it is nearly impossible to gain such exposure and compete against the big firms. That is why we shouldn't try and copy the investment system from Wall Street, we should rather try and trade in our own comfort zone.

That's a very nice project. Christmas is such a special time in the year where we are with family, eat very good food and have a lot of presents for each other. It becomes easy to forget about the less fortunate people around us. Every project that helps the homeless should get a lot of attention. In my city we have an a special event before Christmas in the supermarket where you can donate from 5 euro upwards for the Christmas food of poorer people. They make boxes ready and deliver them directly, or have people let them pick up at the store. Food is the most important thing in life and nobody should have to hunger during Christmas. I agree with you that Russia is not going to back down with their pressure towards Ukraine. It all comes down that Putin wants to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO. If Ukraine is going to join than the conflict could escalate quickly. All the sanctions from the West don't seem to have much effect on Russia. The economy is important for Putin, but with rising energy prices Russia should profit from it.
Removing Russia from the SWIFT system is a bad idea in my opinion. We should try and find ways to settle for a compromise instead of escalating it more. Crypto currencies and decentralised ledgers could help Russia to get around all these problems. Isolating Russia more is not a good thing, it will just drive them closer to China.

I am not very familiar with the bitcoin wallets of Satoshi, but didn't he have much more than 320 BTC? I thought that he had thousands of BTC and always wondered why he never used them. It's awesome that we can track the movements of the original Satoshi bitcoins. But who knows if it's really him? For him to really be back I wouldn't want to see his forum account to be active again and writing about crypto currencies. Also, I wonder how many hackers have tried to get access to Satoshi wallets.

Hast du dich direkt an die USA gewandt wegen deiner Auszahlung? Du wirst bestimmt vorher schon angegeben haben wieviele BTC du besitzt. How do you know the bear market is right around the corner? Taking some profits after another rally and a new ATH high can make sense if we need the money for other projects. But if we don't need the money I am not sure that going back into fiat money is the best idea. Inflation is rising all around the world. For 2022 there is no end in sight of rising fuel prices, higher real estate, food and basic resources prices. If these trends continue than holding cash is the worth thing we can do. I am not convinced that bitcoins are going to drop a lot any time soon. Better to keep my coins than being not invested and maybe missing out on another rally.

You are right that the correlation between bitcoins and the alt coins is very high. That is why our investment into crypto currencies should be a large part into bitcoins. The diversification doesn't really work here, but it works in a broader spectrum like you diversify out of stocks, bonds and other investment funds. So bitcoin alone is already a diversification from your conventional assets. In my opinion diversification becomes important again when investing into alt coins, because when one alt coin is going to drop in price then this is not pulling down any of the other coins. Alt coins are much more risky and if we spread out our money across multiple coins the risk profile is much lower.

I am really sorry to hear that. Gambling addiction is a serious issue in today's world. It's very good that you are in recovery, I hope you get all the necessary help you need. This sounds great on paper, but how do we actually convince poor people to try and save some money. There are a lot of different reasons why people struggle to save money. For example, no income, no trust in banks, no regulation of spending habits. A friend of my parents has a buying problem which makes it very hard for her to save any money and accumulate wealth. I wouldn't call her poor, she has a normal car, good clothes and is renting a decent apartment. She is also not middle class because she has no savings. Every month she is in overdraft of her bank account. For years she spents a the money she gets every month. Trying to convince her to set some money aside is fruitless, my parents have tried for many years. It's hard to change a person.
