On exactly which block is the hard fork supposed to go into effect?  Wanna know exactly when I should switch my scrypt miners over to something else.

I'm working on something awesome for mintcoin! ..but I've contacted the mintcoin team first and hopefully they'll give a positive reply to make it happen since it won't be free. Am really excited about this.  Grin

If you know it, please don't mention it atm.

Won't be for free?  Well you might as well mention what it is and put up a donation address because the mint devs never pay for shit.  Wasn't the android wallet even community funded?

http://www.reddit.com/r/MintCoin/comments/27vade/information_regarding_the_mintcoin_premine_pdf/

A lot goin on. Smiley

Oh, cool.  Thanks for pointing that out.  Maybe the devs are actually accomplishing something!

Nice! Now Brian Kelly can't exactly make a coin pump like Max Keiser, NAUT isn't really booming right now (I don't think that video of him on CNBC using coingen to make NAUT did it a whole lot of favors), but still, it's something.

What secret plans do you have in the works for BCH that you are telling Brian Kelly and not us? Tongue
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PEV] PlusEVCoin - crypto-currency of poker | *ON CoinNext EXCHANGE NOW* on: June 13, 2014, 05:45:22 PM
I have always wondered with the online gambling regulations in the US, why BTC has never really caught on with poker players.  But when you think about it, poker players wanna measure their gains in fiat, not in coins.  With the volatile BTC prices, it adds an extra layer of abstraction from their fiat.  Using an alt coin to play poker just amplifies the problem further.

IMO, for this to actually work, it need a direct fiat to PEV exchange with large liquidity and stability.  No high rolling poker player wants to have to buy BTC, then take that to some rinky dink alt exchange where they can only buy a few hundred bucks worth of the coins before raising the price 300%, then when they wanna cash out they gotta do this same process in reverse and hope the price of PEV and BTC hasn't crashed and end up destroying their poker gains in the process.

A large investment in the infrastructure of the coin needs to be made right off the bat for it to have a chance of success.  Do you have plans for a fiat/PEV exchange?  Do you have large financial backers who can ensure the coin liquidity and stability? No?  Then I assume this will go nowhere just like the half dozen other poker alts I have seen die in the past year.

any estimations at which price we will be at the end or after the POW Phase?

Ummmm.....somewhere between 100 - 100,000 satoshis?

Seriously, it all depends on what the dev can deliver with this coin and if it offers anything unique.  We are still waiting for a website and block explorer so it's anyone's guess.
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCH] BlueChip | X13 | 7 Day POW/POS |15% Interest | Mac & Windows-wallets on: June 12, 2014, 01:56:28 PM
Apparently, this coin has the highest nethash atm. Am I right?
The first 100 blocks had 1 BCH reward which is good to prevent instamining. Some people complained about the first 200 blocks had no payouts. What happened to the second 100 blocks?

We will see when (if?) the block explorer comes out.

I get this feeling that within a day or two, the dev will finish dumping all his coins and disappear into the night without even launching a website or block explorer OR he launches the website and it is super professional and he announces some new, innovative feature in the works and everyone goes apeshit and price goes up 5000% in days.

Odds greatly favor the former being the case, but it only takes 1 winner to make up for a dozen losers in this game, so I will hold what I have mined for now.

In any case, this is a self-moderated thread and I haven't seen the dev delete a single post.  So if this is a scam, he isn't trying very hard to hide it.  It's like a pick pocket looking you in the eye while he steals your wallet.  It really goes to show the sad state of affairs that alts are in that somehow, that fact makes me gain a bit of respect for the dev.

Soooo........it's on an exchange.

Now does the dev have any plans, projects, projected date to launch the website, anything? Or should I just dump my stack before he dumps the premine?

who dump first win here

this was a good scam from launch, just read first page

any proof that the dev had instamined it?

the dev cut the nodes at launch, to prevent other to mine, so he can dump

i was there mining when suddenly i have seen 0 connections

To the best of my recollection, I started mining around 200ish blocks in and difficulty was around 20 something.  I noticed this launch right before I went to sleep yesterday, and my sleep deprived brain may not have recorded all the details exactly right.

Blocks 1-100 paid out 1 coin.  I never had any trouble connecting with nodes or syncing my wallet.  The official pool was functioning fine.

I don't yet have any reason to support this coin (besides the fact that I hold a nice stack of them) but it didn't seem like an insta-mine to me.  Ninja launched and 1% premine?  For sure, but not insta-mined.

In any event, suppose we are stuck waiting on a block explorer before we get a clearer picture of how the launch went down.

A "special" way to deposit fiat into our bank accounts?

I am pretty sure there are only a few ways to get fiat into a bank account, and I don't know if you have looked into it, but the federal government is kinda picky about that sort of thing.  They got all sorts of lame ass "laws" when it comes to their fiat.

I assume you will be happy to provide investors with all the necessary documentation in regards to your FINCEN registration.

This is the lamest excuse for a scam I have seen in quite a while.  Try harder.

My wallet is stuck on block 20500.

Would love to stake some, but can't stake if the blockchain won't sync.

I am curious about the >10Gh mining gap between the known pools' hashrate, and the network hashrate. I understand multipools, but I know of none that have added BCH yet.

Sure it's the same FPGA farms that have been hashraping x11 coins forever now.

Isn't x13 different?

They figured out x11, as far as I know x13 is just x11 with 2 more random algo's thrown in, nothing that makes it any more FPGA or ASIC resistant.  Sure someone has cracked it by now.

Bcrypt is hot in summer, change x13,the coin will be hot, so stupid dev ,lol.

x13 is shit and is being raped by chinese FPGA miners just like x11.  Ya know what doesn't heat up my house or get hashraped by chinese FPGA miners?  Scrypt ASICs.

Anyway, yes dev, I am mining your coin with scrypt ASICs as we speak.

I assume a hard fork is in order to switch over to Bcrypt, if your heart is set on that.  Doesn't matter to me, but you picked that algo for a reason so do what you must.

Yes I was always aware that you could mine with scrypt ASICs and could recreate it locally, it's just that all of the blocks were always rejected by the network.

Anyway we'll see if the new update will fix anything.

But people have said that SOLO mining works. Maybe not with ASICs however - for that, the use of a stratum is required http://new.hashharder.com/scrypt/newuniversalcoin

If the coin is updating, please let me know so I can update our pool so that it doesn't fork.

Not sure on that one, I haven't tried to solo it.  Just been mining at your pool.

May wanna tinker with the difficulty retargeting while you are at it.  Difficulty seems very slow to adjust upwards.  Seeing as difficulty is low and most miners are unaware you can mine with scrypt ASICs, it is a formula that is making for some pretty sweet mining at the moment.  Building up a healthy stack of NUD quickly.

But for the long term health of the coin it is something you may want to address.

Maybe give DB a little more time?  It just went through it's revival and switch to PoS, not alot of action or news at the moment, but after all that trouble shame to not give it a chance.

Just found out publichd.se seems to be closed.  A de-centralized way to propagate torrents is an awesome idea.

I still see no tutorial on how to use TC though.  From what I gather, you send TC to the address in the ANN and attach your magnet link.  How much TC is needed to send a magnet link?  Who is maintaining the trackers?  Who gets the TC sent to this address?

Now an IPO appears out of the blue with no information.  How long does the IPO last?  What do we get for contributing to the IPO?  What does the dev team intend to do with the funds raised from the IPO?

torrentcoin.org seems to be down so no answers there.

I love the idea and want to support this coin, but we need a bit more communication and transparency from the dev team.
