361  Other / Serious discussion / Re: How do you make money of bitcointalk? on: December 27, 2018, 01:16:41 PM
Apart from the signarure campaigns, and staff remuneration, there are a few things you can do.

As has been mentioned, you can trade crypto, or sell goods, but you need to be an established member with trust to do this effectively.

Another way is to be active and provide help for members. If you include your Bitcoin address in your signature, then you may receive tips by grateful members.

You can also build sites with helpful content, and monetise those. If you include links in your signature, then you can start to pick up some revenue. The Brave browser and Steemit are ways to earn crypto from your sites.

Thanks everyone and especially you, my dear legendary user for letting me know about Brave browser and Steemit. While the money generated from them may not be huge in top tier countries, they are nice projects worth following.
Thanks all for expanding my knowledge on the type of 'deals' that some bitcointalk users have!

A binman. In my immagination it would have been the
best job in the world.
363  Other / Serious discussion / How do you make money of bitcointalk? on: December 26, 2018, 10:14:43 PM
I read this topic in Meta where the user claims that:
Quote
Unlock please. This is my only income from this single account. I took a signature once, I didn't get anything. I participate only in generosity.

How is Bitcointalk his source of income? Was he an administrator that was getting paid or is there any opportunity for passive/active income on Bitcointalk? Do people with higher ranks get income from this forum?
364  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help to get someone fired on: December 26, 2018, 09:31:49 PM
Your approach to make people post something on Twitter
is the most inappropriate solution to your problem.
The reasons:
1) Risk of not solving the problem. It's not a bold thing that you do. Instead, be a direct person and speak with someone
2) Can you prove the guy's past? If yes, how? If it's already in the news, why not sending it to your employer?
3) The guy's life is already thoroughly damaged, his reputation is not the best. Why do you want to make it worse? Just because he treats you bad? Why not telling him in private that, if he doesn't continue to behave ethically you're going to expose him?

In United Kingdom we have something called "whistleblowing" which is more related to businesses rather than individuals, but it can apply to your case. Basically, you bypass information of wrongdoing and you are protected by law, nobody can take action against you. The most important thing is to act in the benefit of the public.
365  Other / Off-topic / Re: Turn Water Into Wine! on: December 26, 2018, 05:56:24 PM
I don't get it, do I get a ginger soda in the
end or does it contain alcohol? If yes, is it
like wine or does it feel different?

Last but most important, what are the health risks
for consuming something like that?
366  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you often take offense? on: December 26, 2018, 05:37:00 PM
I get irritated if someone tries to "control" or
raise and argument with me. These people
especially who have no clue about the subject
they are talking about, yet they ask me so many
stupid questions.
I only accept smart questions.
367  Other / Serious discussion / Re: "Decentralized" because market control is illegal on: December 26, 2018, 05:34:37 PM
I agree however, personally I prefer to believe that there is something
better which is not in practice. Something will never be truly decentralized
if a group of small people can, in any form, directly or indirectly control it.
368  Other / Serious discussion / "Decentralized" because market control is illegal on: December 26, 2018, 12:21:35 AM
Dear bitcointalk community,
How can you believe in Proof of Stake (POF) more than in Proof of Work(POW)?
While POW is less effective in terms of costs, does Proof of Stake make
Ethereum "decentralized"?

With POF, the validators chosen are those with the highest number of coins
In other words, your decentralized, not controlled by a central authority
Ethereum Blockchain is now controlled by the BIG WHALES.
The first investors were in control of the Blockchain. They were
the guys rewarded most just because they had most.
Thanks all for falling into this "smart" scam.

Done.

Cat despre im0rtel, mare om, mare caracter.
Sa nu dedici 5 minute unui coleg care imparte
aceeasi pasiune despre criptomonede, asta inseamna
sa fii mafiot!

Daca il trimite maica-sa dupa paine sunt sigur
ca omul tot asa raspunde:

O noua afacere ireala, o noua schema PONZI:

FXTRADIND CORP, este o platforma de arbitrage, se tranzactioneaza crypto monede, castig zilnic de maxim 2.50%, si contracte de 200 zile
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHk3_RH3WBQ

Dupa cum spune investitor cu "mare experienta" daca depui 100$ peste 200 de zile iti revin 400$

FLAG & REPORT

M-am inregistrat la ei sa vad cum e. Am zis ca daca accepta credit card fac
si un depozit sa demonstrez ca e fake Smiley Din nefericire accepta doar bitcoins
Platforma e super fake. Ponzi scheme-ul e prea obvious. Terms & Conditions
pare copiat de la alta companie. Cum dam report la platforma?
371  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Social Media - A next generation 'hyper forum' on: December 23, 2018, 02:01:55 PM
Pretty much there internet costs of very few things;

forums such as craigslist, facebook, reddit, bitcointalk, ebay, amazon (alright, amazon's a pretty "loose forum"), wikipedia

chats such as irc, discord, facebook messager, etc..

===

Pretty much there needs to be one unifying solution. Ideally readily designed to fight against fake information, and debunk obvious myths....

Your premises do not support the conclusion (bolded).

It's like saying. "There are many rivers in the world. Pretty much there needs to be only one river."

If I had at least a merit or 100 merits, I would give all of them to you for what you said here.

For the OP: we're running away from two things today:
-Centralization
-Merging projects/products/services that do the same thing
(Facebook purchased WhatsApp but never merged with it and
you can still use Messenger).

How about a social media for entertainment purposes? Is that
not what 'social' stays for in social media? Most people don't
care about the quality of information. I use facebook and instagram
because I want to see what other people post, have some fun and
entertain myself. Despite not using social media in the past 6 months
as I've been full of work, the current situation is not bad.
Unfortunately it's not as hyped as in the past. The reason?

Quote
Jeff Bezos in Amazon Letter to Shareholders 2018: Are high standards intrinsic or teachable?
He concludes that high standards become "industry's standards" when you teach people about them.
Same for social media. If you want to make a great social media project, define a new high standard of
entertainment.
372  Other / Off-topic / Re: Must all Crypto project create its own coin ? on: December 23, 2018, 01:52:20 PM
I would prefer all crypto projects to use Ethereum,
Bitcoin and Litecoin. Most projects that release
a coin is a get quick rich scheme for the owners
and investors  Smiley Only few are actually worth and
need the coin

a tinder for virgins and at this point,
I'm too afraid to ask

Btw I recommend this movie
375  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you a beginner or a crypto guru? Pass the test and find out! on: December 22, 2018, 10:47:11 PM
Seems that mine is stuck at 7th question.
I answered all of them correctly so far but I can guarantee
that I'm not a crypto guru.
For example, I expected at least some questions regarding
difficulty adjustment algorithms such as KGW and DigiShield,
maybe why names must be RFC1035 compliant, Litecoin's
Time-Memory Tradeoff phenomenon and other
similar stuff. So far looks like a basic quiz but again, for me
it stopped at question 7

377  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Battle between giant gaming distributors Steam and Epic Games on: December 22, 2018, 10:26:16 PM
Last time I played games was 2 years ago and it was exactly Global Offensive. Had a decent rank, Supreme Master First Class
but now hearing for the first time that it's free it makes me laugh
Seems that the whole organization, Valve has became a joke. Maybe they don't realize anymore with the money
generated from skins. I thought I would never said that but, this update is worse than  skin update  Undecided

Thanks God I haven't spent my time on it, however I can understand people who spent money on it and
dedicated thousands of hours. I believe it is officially dead and it is only a matter of time until nobody
will play anymore, the only market becoming those people who actually never played the game.

Their only save is coming up with a new game.

On the other hand, it's nice to see competition between businesses. Personally I believe that Valve took
the wrong approach. Isn't it a bit late to make the move in making a battle royale? True, maybe better
now than never but still, why making the entire game free and why not a part dedicated for battle
royale?
378  Other / Off-topic / Re: simple explanation on how quantum computers are working by poptok1 on: December 22, 2018, 09:49:16 PM
Personally I feel that quantum computers are becoming an emerging market / technology. It seems
to be only a matter of time and it is more of a reality!
Something interesting worth mentioning is that scientists have been able to keep
qubits in a quantum state for less of a second. As the qubits fall out of a quantum state,
many errors happen. These errors can obviously disappear with more qubits being added
to correct the 'state', but this is
not efficient and requires computer power.
Maybe asking Elon Musk finding a solution would work  Grin
379  Other / Off-topic / How many accounts do you have? on: December 22, 2018, 07:07:59 PM
How many accounts on Bitcointalk?

Personally I had another account which I used for 'testing'
the forum. It had maximum 10 activity and 0 merit points.
I never used that account since I created the main one
(this one).
