4 people control all 3 "foundations".  Why am I not the slightest bit surprised?

You gotta start with scamming people at beginning duh.

a. What it means that we do not hold the private keys of the user is that we do not have CUSTODY of the private keys - when they're held in the regular wallet. I can break it down even more: it means that we cannot in any way have access to the funds held by people who have accounts at MyNeuCoin.
This is exactly what Blockchain.info does with their wallet, in contrast to what Coinbase does: Coinbase has total custody of their customers' funds (when they're held in the regular wallets, it's a different story for their Vault feature), which means that in case of fraud or issue, they can "grab" the funds of the fraudulent user.
We chose the option of not having any control on the funds of our users, it's very important aspect of the wallet.

As an afterthought, if you wanted the owner of the coins to have absolute control without a proxy (i.e. you) you would have used HD wallets. You can have them in the form of a simple browser plugin if you want, has been done before and works like a charm.

You want as much control as you can get, plain and simple.

It would nice for a change that instead of announcing lies and betrayal you would ask questions and for clarifications, which we are glad to give (on the NeuCoin forum more than here, as we do not spend too much time on Bitcointalk given the nice atmosphere of honest respect).

...do you even believe your own words?  Huh This sould not have escalated this far since you're so glad to answer questions and give clarifications, investors and crypto-enthusiasts are at fault obviously.

Nocoin lies of the day:

Quote
"Meaning that it is as easy to use as Coinbase, but without actually holding users’ coins (ie, without having access to users’ private keys) like Blockchain.info. This is a first for an online wallet in the crypto-space, let alone any altcoin."
Quote
"This will be the first time in the crypto-space that regular consumers get to participate in mining"
Source: http://forum.neucoin.org/t/neucoin-beta-with-test-coins-now-open-to-all-presale-buyers/1414

Neucoin: No innovation just lies.

How can an online wallet NOT store the keys? Or did you mean some sort of block explorer? Then again i'm not a very versed person as far as blockchain tech is concerned, but regarding the second sentence i suppose that my 2 GridSeeds that pull a whooping 750kH/s (about your average gamer's GFX card scrypt hashing power) don't allow me to participate in mining. Or, wait...!! I forgot that i'm not a regular consumer, i actually run an industrial mining farm with said equipment. I also run a PoS coin full node with an average of 40 active connections, and i stake once or twice a day (which thing is possible because the userbase is SMALL; with a userbase bigger than 60x24x365 (about half a million - negligible) i would be lucky if i staked ONCE per YEAR). But then again, a staking pool doesn't need the user's keys or coins... what for?

EDIT: I can see a "staking pool" working with just a regular account and a public key holding the coins, but that would be based ultimatelñy on trust - i.e. the user has your word that they will get paid for having coins. But what about change addresses? What would happen when a fraction of the coins are spent? How would the "mining fee" be collected? If you can really pull this off i'll be a bit impressed tbh, but it will still be completely centralised.

EDIT2: I know that the "Growth Account" would require you to actually store the coins in their wallet, but i assumed that this should have been a deal breaker in the first place. There's no decentralised network unless you run your own node, and with an initial userbase of 1MM average time between rewards is roughly 2 years. THAT was the technical innovation i was looking for (keeping 60 seconds block time BUT achieving a workable reward system). But then again YMMV.

totally agree with both you and primevilsoup. (except I see why he was banned!)
Exactly what I have been Highlighting, imo.

Oh, I understand why they banned him. I just don't agree why it's banworthy. If they're legit then there's nothing to worry about from someone posting their sentiments and an email address.

I think they are worried it will in fact be, half assed.

They're obviously not legit. And it will be half-assed indeed, at best. I have the feeling that they're "beta testing" (only w/ words), mainly EULA wording and such so when shit finally hits the fan impact on angels' reputation will be minimal (i.e. they're carefully looking at all the legal aspects of this; the launch - of a shitty clone that doesn't even need any beta testing - can wait).
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NeuCoin - Easy to use, free to try, focused on micropayments - Official on: August 24, 2015, 10:12:42 AM
I can pay 1 BTC and get a PoS coin launched RIGHT NOW - if only to test whatever they want to test before the "official" launch. The presale was a fad, they are supposedly well over a year into "developement" and i could launch a "Test NeuCoin" right here, right now.

I know that you are not stupid Darteous, and the way you speak shows that you're finally losing faith in all this. And i can't really blame you.

Hey DidiMidi,
I missed your post being deleated, I guess that was today?
What horrendous question did you ask?

Yep, it was yesterday. There's a thread at their forum saying that laughter is the best investment, and i pointed out that indeed; the "NoKoin team" had invested in laughter since they were laughing their asses off - most likely.

I didn't expect it to last, but was promptly deleted so someone is monitoring the forum which is... something? Maybe Sandrine, i have the feeling that she didn't realize the full extent of what Dank was trying to do when she accepted the "job" (and the monies), and perhaps she is now having trouble getting good rest at nights. In her new expensive abode, that is.

As for everything else NoKoin related... i'm glad that it turned out to be a flat out scam (with an optional P&D for bonus monies - which may not even be possible at this point), if a bit sad for some people that believed in the "project" and invested time and money. Because if it wasn't... imagine them being SERIOUS and having MILLIONS of $ and USERBASE... oh dear, what a disaster it could be for crypto.  Embarrassed

Not for me, but got a post deleted. No warning, no nada. Just gone.  Grin

But they are NICE PEOPLE since they didn't ban me! It's all my fault for being impatient and wanting answers i don't deserve as the peasant that i am. NoKoin FTW!

I'm so selling my house so i can invest all i have.  Cool

And btw, "Good thing you are pretty, or your future would consist of dying of starvation.  You need to worship the man in your life."... since we like to call things by its name, that was an absolute disrespect and you should apologize. Not expecting that you will though.

m3ndi3 IS pretty. I recommend jonald_fyookball.

I suppose she is. And i'd recommend him as well.

appreciate the kind words.   Kiss
Recommend me for what, I wonder.

As someone with ethics who can inform any potential "investors" about nokoin with logic, decency and respect, instead of making them go run to their forum and get rekt because that is what any newbie to the cryptocurrency world would do upon reading some of this crap straight from the middle ages.

But then again i have better things to do than this. Ah well.

M3ndi3. Sorry, Can I just go on a bit?

Can it just be as simple as it's a decision I made and I want to see how it goes? People have a right to be interested in things, and to see them through - To learn from their own mistakes and learn life lessons. There will always be multiple roads to take, some with rewards, some with pitfalls. The warning signs are there, as you all have listed, yet something is just drawing me towards it. I'm simply following my intuition.

And THIS, this, is why not too many women run Fortune 500 companies.  It is not misogyny, or discrimination.

It is because women suck at business.  Hi Sandrine!

Intuition?  ROTFLMAO.

Good thing you are pretty, or your future would consist of dying of starvation.  You need to worship the man in your life.

Hey.... you got that one wrong. Very wrong.

"It is not misogyny, or discrimination."

It is, and you shouldn't have posted that. Not that you care, but you lost quite a few points in my book.

PS: My mother, without studies whatsoever, started working at one of the production lines at most likely  the leading IT company back in the 80's (HP if you're curious) and over the years - and with a lot of hard work - she eventually became WW supply chain manager for the whole fucking company. She learned english on her own while raising 2 children as a single mother. Granted, in the end she made very good money, but one quarter of what she would have earned had she been a "man".

Just because "we" have a dick doesn't make us better at bussiness. Accept it like a "man".

I won't even discuss the "intuition" part, i'll let you figure that one out by yourself.

And btw, "Good thing you are pretty, or your future would consist of dying of starvation.  You need to worship the man in your life."... since we like to call things by its name, that was an absolute disrespect and you should apologize. Not expecting that you will though.

No apologies.  I don't do PC.

Males raised without a Dad most often grow up instilled with feminist values.  No suprise here.  You are a classic.

Just think how different your life would have been if your Mom put that same effort into being a great wife that she put into her job.  You would have had a Daddy!  That made (by your numbers, 4 times) more money!

Suggest you need a crash course in RedPill.  http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/

When one facepalm doesn't cut it...

Your prepotence and arrogance definitely puts me off. Now i see why some people dislike you. While you do make some valid points (about nokoin) you completely failed with this.

My mother divorced my father when i was 12 because she had to choose between a husband and her kids. Mind you, he was (and still is) the love of her life but since we were piss poor and my father didn't bring money home she had the balls (that you seem to lack) to make the hardest choice a human being has to possibly ever make.

Making fun of a divorce... that's scum-Mark level. Really low. Like Brook low.

I have 0 simpathy for you at this point and for the looks of it you have issues, not me

PS: My step father, whom i absolutely love and has cared for me and my sister like we were his offspring would like to send you a postcard. In which language do you want it? I have several to choose from.

Hey everyone, I haven't posted in BitcoinTalk forum yet, but I feel like I need to bring up some of my concerns which I don't think have been addressed yet. Why do we care so much that Dan had a past in advertising and had a program that put "spyware" in people's computers? I read everything about him and what you call "shady" but I honestly don't understand what the big problem is. We are living in the world of facebook and google and social media, that are constantly tracking what we do, what we say, what we post, etc at all times right? Why is it any surprise that this was happening in the past and that someone made money on it? Every single business wants data on its users, and will pay good money for it.  Every website has an analytics code that tracks what you are viewing, and has targeting codes that will retarget ads based on what site you were in. You don't need to download anything anymore to be "watched"... online/offline you will be watched anyways. So can we all just move on to the next topic, because your points about Dan creating software to spy on you, and he will do it for NeuCoin blah bah isn't really scaring anyone. People are sharing their private lives on social media on their own free will. They know what happened with the NSA and they accept it. If that makes you angry, that's a bigger issue than NeuCoin and Dan.  Make a campaign to end all spying on media. Have people sign petitions that they don't want to be tracked etc. But please, stop this BS with trying to say NeuCoin is some awful terrible thing because one of it's founders had spyware in one of his programs. Seriously WHO CARES???  ::end rant::

NOW, can we all just focus on how we have a coin that has the potential to actually have mainstream adoption? Personally for me, I am excited for the applications it can be used for gaming and content!

hey m3ndi3... i respect your opinions and points of view and i concur with some of them (we did "work" together for a little while, so to speak), i'm just expressing what i feel. You know which project did i "ditch", and i did it for the exact same reasons that i'm afraid of this one: absolute lack of transparency.

You may be wondering...  there are plenty of coins out there, why is Didi now bashing NeuCoin with so many scamcoins to hunt for, moreover now that he's leaving crypto?

Because this is the very same concept (social and such...) that bought me into crypto, but done wrong (imo). I think that you know what i'm talking about. I'm pretty much done though, so don't worry about that and i'm sorry for this discussion that turned out bad.

About the last line... it's your attitude towards life in general that makes me feel bad. Well, would make me feel bad if this is a flop, as my guts are telling me. I think we've talked about this before.

@DidiMidi: darteous lives in China. He doesn't care much about centralization, censorship, suppression...

Really? Well, i will certainly not judge him for being chinese (pretty cool chinese dissidents out there...), but i find it... odd, somehow. He's got a pretty good english too, better than mine (spaniard here).

EDIT: You said he lived in china, not that he was chinese. My mistake, if so.

It's a digital currency, The poorest nations don't even have much electricity. So they can't be a part of the market plan anytime soon. As with almost all new products the rich get them first and then as they become more affordable and successful branching out becomes possible. The way the world is setup there will always be poor. And with your demeanor I thought you'd enjoy reading that a project like the Venus Project exists. Take a look at the website, maybe it will raise your spirit just a little. https://www.thevenusproject.com/en/
As long as money rules the world there will always be poor. I understand this but for one I know crypto is a step better than fiat and two unless the world comes together and renounces money it does no good to renounce it by oneself.

I'll have to agree with you that your target is the first world because that's obviously how you have set up your business, but i have the need to remind you have to be really, really poor in order not to have a smartphone (random google article using a quick search for "poor smartphone owners", i had never read that one before: http://techcrunch.com/2012/06/09/feature-phones-are-not-the-future/) and basic internet access in the "second world" (Argentina and BTC FTW!!), and as far as digital tender is concerned the "third world" beat us all (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-Pesa). I know that it's not the same than crypto, but your "no electricity you screwed" argument is BS and i gave you a pretty solid example imo.

But you know what... i'm tired. Reply if you want with an irrefutable argument/fact, but there's only so much empty talk my brain can tolerate.
