Wow there was quite a run a minute ago, big selloff and a big buyback.

Perhaps p2pools problem is that there are too many people observing it constantly and thus are altering the outcome.

GODDAMN GOX, upgrade your hardware !!!  You are making enough bucks on all those fees.

This is so fucking annoying....  Angry

Seriously, it takes 2-3 minutes to cancel an order...

lol guys why stress? Just freaking hold these days. We likely have quite some ways to go before it even tapers off the rate a little.
Ha famous last words...

That said, to the moon, infinity and beyond and all that.
365  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Are the Avalon ASICS shipped or not? on: March 06, 2013, 02:54:11 AM

And we've got a winner
367  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 05, 2013, 10:30:38 PM
I sold half my coin.

I'll rebuy at 35

I sold a few coins today for the first time in a few weeks. Seems like a good place to take a breather. I'll buy them back this weekend if I can find a decent price.

The fact that many people seem to have sold at least a bit (myself included) combined with the fact that we're still at $40 should make you think.

The thing that makes me worry/think is that there's millions of people who are so wealthy, and only one of them could fart in the general direction of bitcoin and crash the market.
368  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Gaming-type Video Cards on: March 05, 2013, 10:04:56 PM
I've got a EVGA GTX580 SC ( Black Ops 2 variant ) Bought new and registered to me for lifetime warranty. LMK if you are interested.
369  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: March 05, 2013, 09:59:37 PM
Apparently it's good to 300 mhz, but hits a brick wall there. Believed to be a coding or software issue.
370  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Broken Graphics cards... or working on: March 05, 2013, 05:42:14 PM
I've got 2 5970's and a 5870 eyefinity 6 port.

1 5970 spins. died suddenly overnight. redid pads, still wont post.
1 5970 works, but gpu0 is flaky. VRM runs too hot on 2 phases. Tried everything still wont run cool. Second gpu is fine mines away all day long at 950 mhz.
5870 eyefinity, it popped a capacitor ( exploded and blew things off board ). I replaced with same under microscope by hand but still get no video out. Used to mine, without video out. Stopped working. It's a pain in the ass to hand solder <1mm SMD.

Sounds like they buffered the clocks too much Cheesy
372  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [400GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: March 05, 2013, 02:29:27 PM
I'm not coming back until I get my avalons. Right now I'm eeking out every ounce I can out of my GPU's.  I'll be able to double the p2pool hashrate easily within a couple of weeks...if my batch ones come in.
373  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Easy Way to get Free Electricity for mining on: March 05, 2013, 02:14:18 PM
This. If you're going to blow $20K, at least do it on something that you won't have to fuck with every day.
Would take years to pay for itself, though.

How much electricity do you have to buy from the power co before they give you the rest for free?

If you have solar or a wind turbine some other ability to generate "clean power" the energy companies in the US are required to buy your power at the highest rate available. They have to pick you over any other provider too. They have to install a meter and the equipment to regulate it for free. The meter runs backwards when you are generating and forwards when you aren't. If you have a surplus they credit you or cut you a check.

/ I have several neighbors with solar power who have <$20 electric bills year round.
374  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5970 dead? on: March 05, 2013, 02:08:41 PM
The 1st GPU VRM are toast or dying.  Run cgminer with -d 1 -c conf.conf

if it runs, then the second gpu is fine. You can try dropping the voltage/clocks to the first gpu or keeping it disabled and only using 1/2 the card.
375  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Impression of Avalon Machine (cooling info updated) on: March 04, 2013, 08:36:01 PM
Is there a way to configure a failover gateway in this build of openWRT?
376  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin 410 richest addresses, updated often. on: March 04, 2013, 02:41:08 PM
I'm genuinely surprised hardly anyone has hit the 100,000 Bitcoin mark yet, it must be because there still aren't a lot of Bitcoin businesses about, then again, the real richest Bitcoin users may have smartly hidden their addresses from public view or switched computers etc. to prevent the larger amounts being found.

I split all my coins into multiple wallets, all eggs in one basket = too much to loose.

/still on the list Cheesy
//seriously considering cashing a significant amount out to buy a house or an RV.

twmz, is there any way you could make the tabs ( active users, current payouts ) work on a iphone/ipad?

They work fine on my iPhone.  What problem are you having?

they come up blank. The initial blocks page loads, clicking the tabs doesn't update. Not working on several phones and ipads I've tried ( borrowed some at work ). From 4.3.4 to 6.1.2
378  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Easy Way to get Free Electricity for mining on: March 04, 2013, 02:20:54 PM
wouldn't it be easier to run an extension cord to your neighbor's house?
379  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PrimeAsic - 80 Ghash/sec Asic Miner on: March 04, 2013, 02:07:29 AM
I will fly to Hungary and pick it up myself. How much for two?

a blowjob

there may be some younger folks on here. Who aren't familiar with that terminology..

Well then no harm done...
380  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [AVALON] - I got my ASIC Thread (Batch #2) on: March 03, 2013, 02:25:19 AM
Why don't you PM him or email him? Just posting in threads hoping he sees them is kinda dumb.
