Mycelium: New Bitcoin Wallet Offers Opportunity in Crowdsale

Bitcoin wallet vendor Mycelium has announced the release of their new Bitcoin wallet and the launch of its crowdsale. This announcement was posted on Reddit and states that the new wallet shall be simply called Mycelium.

The announcement claims that the new wallet has been equipped with a plug in API that will allow anyone to integrate their own services and features directly into the wallet.

Prior to this, companies whose services run on MyceliumCT r:  190 were usually added to the platform by its developers. But according to this release, with the new API businesses and developers will be able to add their own plug-ins quickly and easily without waiting for Mycelium developers to do it.

A spokesperson of Mycelium says:
Quote
“This also allows businesses to focus on their core business strengths. For example, an exchange's main job is to create and manage trades. Making a custom wallet specifically for their exchange is a distraction and an unnecessary cost. With our wallet, they can let us focus on the front-end, UI, and trade functions, while they focus on just making sure all their users' money is handled securely and trades are settled correctly.”

364  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to hit $2016 by the end of 2016 on: April 29, 2016, 10:51:26 AM
It is hard to believe that is possible to happen this year even after halving. bitcoin may reach $700 or $800 at the end of 2016 but I do not think it will be more than $1K
365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: paypal or bitcoin? on: April 29, 2016, 10:48:12 AM
Both are good for online shoping, but more sites take paypal than btc.

that is why I consider it unfair comparison because PayPal is older and more known than bitcoin til now.
and If bitcoin gets the time and popularity of PP, it will dominate the online shopping field IMO
366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What "facts" you heard about Bitcoin is not true? on: April 29, 2016, 10:42:59 AM
I mostly heard Bitcoin will die..but i think it is the wrong fact.   Bitcoin will stay forever.

nothing in this world can stay forever. what if in the future someone develops a supercomputer and it ends what is called bitcoin now ? you better say bitcoin will not die soon
367  Bitcoin / Press / [28-04-2016] Coinbase is finally letting you instantly buy Bitcoin with a debit on: April 28, 2016, 04:17:52 PM
Coinbase is finally letting you instantly buy Bitcoin with a debit card

Anyone who has been a long-time user of Coinbase knows that the cryptocurrency startup hasn’t exactly always made it easy to buy Bitcoin.

In the early days you had to link your U.S bank account, verify it via two small deposits, and still wait up to five days for the Bitcoin to be sent to your wallet each time you made a purchase. Then, the company added instant purchases (which allowed you to receive the Bitcoin immediately), but only if you had a credit card linked to the account as a backup payment method.

But today that has finally changed, as the company announced that instant buys from debit cards are now available to all users in the United States.

This is a big deal, mainly because of the increasing amount of consumers in the U.S who solely rely on debit cards. And since waiting 3-5 days to receive Bitcoin kind of defeats the purpose of buying it at all, many consumers shied away from Coinbase’s platform, turning instead to companies like Circle.

VICE News has obtained footage taken from the headcam of an Islamic State (IS) fighter who died in March while battling Kurdish peshmerga troops in northern Iraq. The clash took place about 30 miles north of Mosul.

Unlike IS propaganda, which often presents sweeping battlefield victories, the video shows chaos, panic, and the fighters retreating.

BitClub Network Mines a Colossal Fee

On April 26th a transaction worth 316 Bitcoins processed across the blockchain but 291 BTC mistakenly went to the mining fee. The 136,000 dollar mistake found its way to the mining organization called BitClub Network. The fee error seems to be a record-setting block, but it ‘s hard to locate the original address due to the fact the fee occurrence was mixed with many other transactions.

372  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [banned mixer] legit ? on: April 27, 2016, 01:32:49 PM
few month ago they had a giveaway to test their service and all feedback I read was positive. And I agree with you, their site style look like a copy from bitmixer
373  Economy / Speculation / Re: $500 at the beginning of May ? on: April 27, 2016, 01:29:23 PM
this might happen because we are getting nearer to the halving and all people are waiting for the rise and they hold their btc so the supply will be low and the price will rise
374  Other / Politics & Society / The Killing of a Western Hostage in the Philippines on: April 25, 2016, 07:29:38 PM
One of four hostages abducted in the Philippines last September has been killed hours after a Monday deadline for a $6.5 million ransom expired.
The al-Qaeda-linked Abu Sayyaf group kidnapped four people from a resort on Samal Island in September 2015. The hostages—John Ridsdel and Robert Hall, both Canadian; Marites Flor, a Filipina; and Kjartan Sekkingstad, a Norwegian––all had appeared in a video asking their governments to secure their release. Earlier Monday, Abu Sayyaf demanded a $6.5 million ransom and threatened to behead a hostage if the money wasn’t delivered by 3 p.m. When that deadline passed, a severed head was dropped into the town center in Jolo. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed that Ridsdel had been killed. Filipino authorities have not officially identified the victim. Reuters reported:
Quote
“We are being very careful, we can't say whose head it was,” army spokesman Major Felimon Tan told reporters, adding that tests would be carried out to identify the victim.

Residents found the head in the center of Jolo town. Tan said two men on a motorcycle were seen dropping a plastic bag containing the severed head.

My main wallet right now is Mycelium android wallet because it is easy to use and can use it everywhere just by scanning the qr code for the receiver address. I have never faced a problem with it til now so I think I am not going to change it soon

379  Economy / Speculation / Re: 440$ reached on: April 23, 2016, 06:29:15 PM
the price now is in a level which could not pass since the great and fast pump and dump of last November. it is a good resistant point and I hope that the price will break it this time
380  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: XAPO service down! on: April 23, 2016, 06:20:05 PM
We can trust xapo and blockchain.info for now as they are quite good at handling ddos and hacking attempt till now.
But its always suggested not to put big sum of bitcoin or other coin in online wallet as they are vulnerable to hacking attempt. I find paper wallet most secure way to store obviously if you can keep that paper protected.

I do not think it is correct to put xapo and blockchain.info wallet in the same basket. blockchain wallet allow the user to get his private keys which is something very important. while in xapo, one has no control on his addresses. So that I have never used xapo and I used blockchain
