521  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why is Poloniex so often offline? on: March 14, 2016, 10:21:01 PM
Just uncovered that it's a Chrome related problem.

If I send the link www.poloniex.com to my friend on FB, FB makes the preview.
This means the website works.
And in fact, it works on my mobile phone and on Explorer.

But on Chrome I get this message:

This webpage is not available

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

Turns out for some reason www.poloniex.com doesn't work, but poloniex.com works.
I don't know why.
Also, www.poloniex.com comes up in the history of websites visited recently, and that's why I kept having problems.
If I type exactly only poloniex.com, it works.
Duh.

it is a problem in your dns

to fix it if you are in windows, open cmd and write what is between the brackets ( ipconfig /flushdns ) and press enter
then open the site without problems

Thank you! I opened ipconfig, but flushdns said that is not recognized as an internal or external command  Huh

this is a one line command , do not press enter before writing the whole line including the space between ipconfig and /

I consider Bitcoin and other altcoins like fiat diffirent currencies. all of them are money at the end but each one has diffirent value according to its market. and they affect the value of each other through trading
528  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining coins save or sell it? on: March 13, 2016, 11:02:35 PM
a miner has to sell some of what he mined in order to cover his electicity costs and cover the cost of the equepments. then when he get his ROI, he may save his coins IMO
529  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you actively spend your bitcoins? on: March 13, 2016, 10:56:47 PM
I am thinking of spending some bitcoin to buy some graphics cards to do some mining. It is quite profitable to mine Ethereum.
Where will you buy these cards from ? I do not know any electonic site that has worldwide shipping and accept bitcoin. you may have to exchange your btc to buy them

532  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-03-13] Paul Vernon signs a contract to recover stolen coins for a 13% fee on: March 13, 2016, 10:32:57 PM
It is so hard to believe that this is really true, because I have never seen in my life a theaf how will agree upon returning what he stole for a percentage from it.
533  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-03-12] BTC-E Withdrawals broken, trading suspended on: March 13, 2016, 10:27:11 PM
those unplanned and surprised maintenance are somehow scary as people lose their trust and start assume that they will not get access to their funds again. they should add a previous notice before doing that again
534  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where to trade alt or btc? on: March 13, 2016, 12:34:38 AM

535  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Method To Get 4hrs Vps for free on: March 12, 2016, 07:34:21 PM

536  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Proof that God exists on: March 12, 2016, 07:24:18 PM
we have never heard about a home that was built without a builder or an invention without an inventor. SO the existence of the universe that we live in and all those creations that live in it is a proof that there is a creator who is God
537  Other / Politics & Society / Re: UN warns Isis is strengthening hold in Libya with ‘nationalistic narrative’ on: March 12, 2016, 07:17:16 PM
ISIS look like they create a decentralized Jihad situation which is spread in several countries and territories. So defeating them will not be easy as it was with any former extreme group. ISIS will not be defeated by bombing Syria with air craft
538  Other / Off-topic / Re: du you spend coins on real life. on: March 12, 2016, 07:10:26 PM
I spend them on online stores if that count, In my area there is no place accepting bitcoin or even a bitcoin ATM so can't use it physically even if I want to.

It, is so, sad we can't buy anything physically with bitcoin. But if you have a bitcoin debitcard you can use it in normal ATMs also.  No need bitcoin atm for it. Even you can use your bitcoin debit card in any shopping centers.

the problem with these bitcoin debit cards is they do not support all the world countries. and their fees are kind of high if your bitcoin spendings is low. for ex: for ATM withdraw you will pay 4 dollars as fees which in some developing country can buy food for one day
539  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to spend Bitcoin? Newbie's opinion. on: March 12, 2016, 07:02:42 PM
the best way to spend bitcoin is to but a bitcoin debit card and load it with your btc. then you will be able to spend your btc anywhere regardless if they accept bitcoin or not. but you will lose some btc in the conversion fees
540  Economy / Speculation / Re: 10 BTC. Will I be a millionaire by 2030? on: March 12, 2016, 04:17:25 PM
Maybe you should raise your 10 btc to 100 btc. as I think one bitcoin may worth 10000 dollars in that time.
but it would be an extremely high risky investment as no one really know if bitcoin will be alive in 2030 or not :/
