361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now its India's turn.Indian Supreme court asks government to regulate bitcoin on: November 21, 2017, 11:23:48 AM
USA,CANADA, CHINA and now INDIA.
Its growing. Now India is trying to regulate Bitcoin.

Source : https://www.coindesk.com/indias-supreme-court-calls-government-regulate-bitcoin/

Though the correction on the website says that the court just asked the government to respond to a petition, but it can be foreseen that, Its India's turn to regulate ICO's or Bitcoin.
What happens if India regulate bitcoin and ban all exchanges. How do we Indians get our money back in INR( Indian currency) which we have invested in Bitcoin?

Well that's the problem with centralized exchanges, they can be easily shut down or hacked. Anyway, if things get well done, and even if a ban or shutdown happens, like we saw in China, exchanges should be given time to perform the shutdown, and their priority should be to allow it's users to withdraw their coins. I hope the ban doesn't happen of course, but I still don't know what is their position regarding bitcoin.

I'm actually in favor of regulation, because that would speed up adoption, if bitcoin gets accepted of course. If it doesn't get accepted it's not all lost, since people will still have the option to use it, since bitcoin is able to go around governments. All these news just make me love Japan more.

363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: November 19, 2017, 07:03:07 PM
We are seeing a much strong Inter than usual, and I'm betting this season will finally be good for them. They can grab second place if they win their game vs Atalanta today, and I don't think they will waste this opportunity in keeping the pressure on Napoli and Juventus. They hardly lose games at home, grabbing odds @1.61 looks easy money to me.
364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Portuguese League Prediction Thread (Primeira Liga) on: November 19, 2017, 06:58:05 PM
One last game for Taça de Portugal today, between Vitoria de Guimarães and Feirense. I think that there is some money to be made on this game. This trophy is always very important for Guimaraes, and they are very strong at home, so I think they should win this one. The odds are high, because they usually find trouble when playing Feirense, but I think they are in better shape, they are playing at home, and like I said this it's very important for them to fight for this trophy. I will put some coins in it @1.7
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I sell BTG ? on: November 17, 2017, 08:41:21 PM
Hello ,
One more question - I have my btc on ledger nano s and today they released app to claim BTG ( bitcoin gold) , so is it good to claim it and sell it ASAP or do you see any value holding BTG ? Or should I sell and convert buy btc with that money ? Please advise .

I haven't claim my bgold yet, but when I do it, I will probably just sell it. Maybe time will prove me wrong, because I also sold my bcash, and if I had hold to it, I would have a much greater profit by selling it now. The only reason I think I'm right about bgold, is because there are better options for what they are trying to accomplish. BTX is one example of that, and is much cheaper right now. I think I will sell my bgold, and by BTX with it.
366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Relationships! on: November 17, 2017, 08:38:28 PM
Anyone who has ever been or are in a committed relationship or marriage where both people gamble? Or in a relationship with a gambler with a friend, best friend, family related etc...  Knowing you are in it together is weird comforting and gives me some sort of undefined explanation.

What does that look like for you? Your experience needs to be heard.

I usually go to land casinos with close friends. Sometimes we do it on birthdays, other times, we just do there on any given day because we feel like it. I also play poker against friends, either live or online, so I think that counts as well. If you are just talking about online gambling, then I usually do it alone, and the only exception to this is poker of course, like I've already mentioned. Online gambling is kind of a lonely thing, and it doesn't require much interaction, so that's probably why I don't do it with friends.
367  Economy / Gambling / Re: gambling with playing poker on: November 17, 2017, 08:32:20 PM
I want to ask if one of these forum users ever played gambling poker with bitcoin bets? Is there an app for android phone? What is the minimum balance that must be owned? Thank you in advance.

I don't play poker much often these days. Not that I don't enjoy the game, because I really love it, but only because I don't find many players on bitcoin poker rooms. I used to play on betcoin.ag, but there were so many scam accusation on them that I stop doing it. Never had any problems, but I decided not to risk it, until their reputation improves. I used to bet on directbet, but after they've closed, I started using nitrogen. They have poker there as well, so I will probably give it a go. I suggest you try it yourself as well, and maybe we can start getting more players there.
368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Games of skill best practice on: November 16, 2017, 09:27:53 PM
I think the best practice is to have one address for each user. They can of course send payments to the same address, but it's easier to track payments if each user has it's own address. There is no violation of privacy here in my opinion, because you can generate the address yourself, and no one will know which user is using it but you. Also, if you don't request for ID, you don't know who they are as well.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what will happen in Dec ? on: November 16, 2017, 09:20:28 PM
From your list I'm ok with NEO, but I'm not sure about the others. I don't know Bancor or Golem, so I wont talk about those, but are you sure about bitcoin cash? I know you saw that huge rise in price, but that was just a coordinated pump, and now bcash is dropping a lot and will probably continue to be dropping. If you are trying to ride on another pump it's ok, but I don't thin it will happen soon, and you could probably get into the "possible ride", at a better price than the current one.
370  Economy / Economics / Re: Leveraged bitcoin trading? on: November 16, 2017, 09:09:46 PM
Can anyone recommend a good exchange to buy leveraged bitcoin?  I do not mean margin trading.  I do not want want to borrow money to buy more bitcoin and have to pay interest and worry about a cut off price (eg. BTC drops to less then 50% of your trade its auto-sold).  I want leverage.  Like a 3X ETF, it can goto to $1 and I'll still hold my position and pay no interest.  Broke, yes, obviously.

Any recommendations?

I only know margin trading exchanges, but I actually had the idea that the auto-sold was the same. Won't exchanges liquidate all your assets if the trade goes wrong, with a big fall in price, like the one of 50% you mentioned? I never tried margin trading, or leverage, because I was always afraid of that, specially in cryptomarkets, where big volatility is just way to common.
371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Preparing new BTC attack? on: November 16, 2017, 09:02:31 PM
There's no attack that I know of,  bitcoin is just slow at the moment.  A lot of people are sending it,  and possibly less people are mining it as well,  considering this,  bitcoin has slowed down confirmations and such.  Like stated,  I doubt anyone is actually *attacking* bitcoin by sending payments.

I don't think the op was referring to that. He was probably talking about that wall on BCH, but looks perfectly normal. I actually expect that BCH will fall to those prices in a few months, because it's still overpriced in my opinion, so it will go back to the $700 range. As for the spam attack I'm not sure if it was real or not. Probably the slowness in the network was just due to the migration of some miners to the bcash network, because of the pump in it's price. Of course that things are going back to normal now, since miners are returning to bitcoin, because its more profitable to mine BTC again.
372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Isn't mining profitable now with increase in bitcoin price? on: November 15, 2017, 10:35:50 AM
As it has been pointed out already, the problem with mining is that the difficulty to mine coins also increases over time, as more miners get into it. So in order to continue to be profitable, you will need a higher hash rate, so you will spend more electricity in order to keep up with the adjusted difficulty. But yes, mining is profitable, but only for mining pools, since you can't really compete with them. You can of course buy some asics, and join a mining pool, chances are you might still get some profit, but in order to be able to do that, you will need cheap electricity as you've mentioned.

Here are some charts that might help you understand everything, and also check the calculators some users also posted here.

373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on the up after declines on: November 15, 2017, 10:17:45 AM
The last week or so has been a tumultuous one for Bitcoin. According to recent analysis, the price of Bitcoin has always increased substantially after any dips greater than 20%.

Read More: https://cryptodaily.co.uk/2017/11/bitcoin-on-the-up-after-declines/

A corrections was expected after the fork, even though it didn't happen the action would of course be the same. A lot of people bought because they were expecting the free 2x coins, so it doesn't matter if they received them or not. After that event a correction in the price was needed. The problem was, that at the same time, a "war" between bcash and bitcoin happened, and I guess that no one expected that.

All that seems to be gone now, so as usual, after every dip, bitcoin takes a while to consolidate, and it then prepares for another bull stretch. I wont lie, this was a scary event, but I'm happy with what I did. I hold my coins, and even invested a little more at $6k and $5.7k.
Bcash had it's moment and failed, and even though they will probable try some takeovers again, they will probably fail harder because bitcoin will probably offer even more resistance than it did on this first attempt. Also let's not forget that CME futures is almost here, so I expect a bright future for bitcoin now.
374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on cryptocurrencies prices on: November 13, 2017, 11:43:09 AM
Hello,

I'm looking for the bitcoin/litecoin binary options betting website. On this kind of websites you can bet what the price of for example bitcoin will be in 3 or 5 minutes. Can you recommend any?

Thanks!

I think onehash offers that option, and I'm not sure about fairlay, but I also think you can do that there. I would keep an eye on Spectre.ai though because they want to specialize on that area, and will build an exchange just for that, and they will also be decentralized if I'm not mistaken, so if they succeed they will be a reference in those kind of markets.
375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin casino's are the FUTURE! on: November 13, 2017, 11:39:50 AM
Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say that bitcoin casinos are so much better then normal one's, most of the bitcoin casinos have instant cashouts when you look at normal casinos it takes atleast 5 days to get the money to your bank account.

BITCOIN CASINOS ARE THE FUTURE!  Grin Grin Grin Grin

You are probably right, and don't forget that most fiat casinos also ask for verification documents, and although I have offered them in the past, I do think that my privacy gets threaten when I have to do that, so I prefer crypto casinos over the fiat ones. Also, although there is still some fear associated with some crypto casinos, because of scam accusations, we already have some decent options of trusted casinos out there, and I don't think I will use a fiat one ever again.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not Dead Yet on: November 13, 2017, 11:32:12 AM
Well, it looks like Bitcoin is not dead yet.  Although Bitcoin Cash is putting on a good show, Bitcoin made a little recovery today of over $500 in just a few hours.

Is the recovery coming?  Or should we all run to Bitcoin Cash before the next time it shoots up to the moon?

A lot of coins are being pumped now. Dash is showing a good increase in it's price as well, also performed by the Korean market, and made in Bithumb.
I don't think bitcoin was ever in danger. Right now there is still no coin competing with it. Bitcoin is digital gold, and no other coin aims to be that right now. Most of them want to be seen as a currency, and some as "ICO incubators", but none of those things are the main goal of bitcoin.

Bitcoin is entering the financial market, as regulation is being done, and institutional money will come into bitcoin and not into other alts. Don't fall into FUD, bitcoin is the real investment, and is not dead at all. It's just starting.
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I hope you guys won't fall for this BCH joke on: November 13, 2017, 11:25:30 AM
Just saying... BTC is the real thing and will remain... you know it right?

So act wisely and don't fall for this trap: btw don't miss the chance to sell you BCH to get more Bitcoins - I'm sure we will have a bigger pump by Christmas Wink

I think most of us are used to these pump and dump moments. After all bcash is just another altcoin, and it's not because it's on top5 marketcap that we should take these price fluctuation seriously. This was just a pump performed by the Korean market, in Bithumb exchange, and now it's being dumped for profit. Bitcoin has scalability problems for sure, and they need to be addressed, but don't even think for a moment that BCH will ever be the solution for that. It just won't happen, so don't be fooled.

379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I trade my BTC for BCH? on: November 11, 2017, 10:51:34 PM
I've bee given info that this is another huge shift, and in the short term BCH is a good idea.

I don't think this is a good idea. This is just BCH propaganda, and if people just keep selling bitcoin for bcash, they they will win this one, and we don't really want that. Mining bcash is not profitable, most of the times, miners do it and lose money, even with the adjusted difficulty. So eventually Roger Ver will run out of bitcoins to swap, and wont be able to do any more harm to bitcoin. Don't forget that futures trading will be possible at the end of the year, and a lot of money will come into bitcoin, not bcash.

If you really want to sell bitcoin, because it's price will probably drop a little more, don't swap it to bcash, otherwise you might help this "attack".
380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 126K unconfirmed transactions right now... on: November 11, 2017, 10:46:57 PM
https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions

126K unconfirmed transactions and climbing.   Huh Huh

What happens if it goes to 200k?  500k? what if the miners dip out and no transactions can even be confirmed?  Undecided

Roger Ver and his crew are spamming the network as it was predicted by anyone smart. There is an ongoing attack on bitcoin right now, with strong propaganda coming from the Roger Ver big blocker camp which consists on media propaganda while spamming the bitcoin network. Their goal is to trick the market into assuming that the market wanted bigger blocks, to make them think rejecting segwit2x was a mistake, so they will have more support next time. Of course outside the ongoing manipulation, there's no real support for big blocks. They will run out of money, and once this happens, BCash will dump and BTC will continue growing as usual. Get out of BCash while you can.

I'm with you on this one. This is just an attempt to try to make the market believe that is regretting not having accepted the 2x fork. Since bcash is no the best options for big blocks, they are trying to create the impression that everyone is now searching for big blocks in bcash, since they won't have them on bitcoin.

Roget Ver wont get out of money soon, because he definitely has a lot of bitcoins, and we all knew this would happen sometime. I think this is just going to be another test for bitcoin, and as usual, when bitcoin passed this tests, it gets stronger than it was before.
