3721  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you think it is ok to still keep and claim from faucets using Coinpot wallet? on: March 21, 2018, 02:27:13 AM
I ask advice from you guys because I acquired some coins in my coinpot wallet and still I claim from sources like Moondash, Moonlite, Moonbitcoin, Mooncash, Bitfun, Moondogecoin and etc.  Do you think it is advisable  to continue claiming from faucets.

It's generally not advisable at all to use faucets.

It's simply not worth your time to claim them. The rewards are generally extremely low for the rewards and there may be faucets that actually mine with coinhive or other browser mining plugins in the background while you visit them.

Overall, it's not worth it at all. Ask anyone around here and they'll give you the same response.

Coinpot seems to be a legitimate microprocessor based on reviews, no guarantees they will continue to pay users out though.
3722  Economy / Exchanges / Re: eToro scamming people when withdrawing? on: March 21, 2018, 01:51:33 AM
That's crazy, almost poloniex like.

eToro is only a platform that I have seen on ads, not really known for its crypto trades. But apparently the customer support experience with them is not that great either when they're trying to get new customers via advertising.

Thanks for sharing your experience, unfortunately i don't think that they have any official representatives or threads on bitcointalk. That's a huge warning sign as you basically have nobody other than the customer support to ask questions to.

I would suggest to stop using eToro to trade cryptos once you do get your funds out, because it's not actually an exchange. You are trading speculative tokens with high spreads instead of an actual crypto exchanges with real cryptos and lower spreads. They probably don't have any BTC reserves. You can't even withdraw crypto directly, resulting in more fees. Everything seems very shady on their platform. I would avoid for sure.
3723  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex displays incorrect balance. on: March 21, 2018, 01:39:43 AM
I saw my balance was 50 btc with one 3 btc stratis buy order, total with 53 btc, but when I cancelled my 3 btc buy order, I saw my balance shows 53 btc, after that, I refreshed my page, it showed 50 btc again, and my 3 btc is missing, please help me and audit my account balance, thanks.

Do you suffer such issues before? I just sent a ticket for further audit my account.
Poloniex had already a problem like youbdescribed.
https://mobile.twitter.com/poloniex/status/953706749625798657?lang=de
So you should send them a support ticket with screenshots and their twitter link (for the case, that they forgot their issue)

It is probably this issue. It is an issue that poloniex has obviously acknowledged, and OP should quote this twitter message and tell them to look into your account along with the appropriate screenshots and trade history.

Although the only thing would be that they're probably not going to give you a response in time, probably not until weeks after you submit a request for support.

BTW on a side note, you are storing a lot of bitcoin and cryptos in general on an exchange. I would definitely not store that high of an amount on poloniex in specific because of the problems and their business changing hands recently. Try to get some of the funds out of your account into a wallet that you own.
3724  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining - Where Are The Reputable Operators? on: March 21, 2018, 01:30:21 AM
There isn't a lot of regulations for most of the world about cloud mining, so even if a company is incorporated within a country it doesn't mean that it is actually regulated by anyone or audited by anyone for their financials and miner reserves.

You usually have to trust that they are actually mining, and take their word. But research can certainly help as well.

If the company behind the cloud mining venture actually has a pool or manufactures mining equipment themselves, then there is a higher likelihood of it being a legitimate cloud mining site. But even then that won't guarantee profits, most of the time it is going to be resulting in a loss due to the maintenance fees.

The thing with cloud mining is that you try to make a profit, and companies charge you maintenance fees and have the right to terminate your contract as soon as it hits 0 profitability. You do not get any principal back at that point. That's different from cloud hosting where the main aim isn't to be an investment.
3725  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex Verification on: March 21, 2018, 01:26:41 AM
I have no problem with verification on Poloniex. Very fast and easy. It was not long before the purchase of Poloniex. There are no problems with this. But the work of Poloniex support is very slow. It was noticeable that they were overloaded. Their answers began with an apology. On the last ticket I received no reply at all. The answer did not appear even after the deal with Circle. Poloniex exchange is good and proven. But support is their weakness, which limits the use of the exchange. I would like to change the situation with the answer to the questions.

I completely agree that support is the main weakness of poloniex.

But verification is still a big part of their problems as well. There have been delays in verification in customers getting verified, and it could take months before they actually get verified. And all that time, the funds are stuck in their account with no way of withdrawing it.

I guess a shitty support also contributes to that problem in that if something does go wrong, nobody can actually do anything about it in a timely manner. The circle buyout hasn''t resulted in any positive changes so far, hopefully this can change in the near future.
3726  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LocalBitcoins.com Forcing me to Quit? VERY DISAPPOINTED! on: March 20, 2018, 09:55:08 PM
I have also never been asked by localbitcoins to upload these documents.

Must be some sort of thing that you did to trigger their automatic fraud detection system or whatever. How much money have you got on Localbitcoins at the moment? It's very weird that they are requesting these documents.

I have no knowledge of EU privacy laws, but if a company asks you for KYC docs it'll be hard to just refuse to send it to them. You could request that your funds be withdrawn from your account and your account closed, but that'll be forfeiting a good trader account.

I use LBC for the sole reason that I am able to use it anonymously and without forced verification. Hopefully this is just an isolated case and not going to develop into a growing trend. But for now, you should comply with whatever they're asking unless you have fully understood the legal implications.
3727  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: did YoBit scammed me ? on: March 20, 2018, 07:10:47 PM
Well , the scammer on TELEGRAM ICO was having https sertificate from some service that it gives you for free or something like that,I'm guilty because I was hurrying to send the money because I want to participate in this ICO from a long time, that was my mistake,I will surely be more careful when I get into situation like this,I'm pretty sure that the guy who scammed me for 3 eth as yobit employee is just a scammer,I will try to find him but I know that the chances are about 99% that I couldn't but I will still try.

Yeah. I'm not sure if the facebook page is legit or not, but even if it was a scam page, I couldn't find anything regarding the yobit.solutions email domain. How did you find the fake scammer's email address again?

Of course the real yobit wouldn't actually respond to you and that is what the scammer is trying to exploit here - the fact that they're going to be the only one replying to your email and the real yobit will not respond to your tickets.

This is completely unrelated to yobit and as bad a service they are, this isn't their fault.

Next time, always verify that you're speaking to the right person before sending any money. In fact you shouldn't send any money to support.
3728  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Poloniex is kidding me on: March 20, 2018, 07:06:17 PM
Nothing we can do to help you.

All I can say is that poloniex really is a service that used to be good and going downhill. But I do not know if in your case it's because of a bug, or you have done something wrong. But it's not even showing up on your pending deposits which is pretty incredible.

You've got proof that the deposit address works, so you should screenshot both the deposit history section of your account and your deposit address. Send that along with all your txids and other info just like owlcatz said. Open a new ticket and close this one.

You can only hope that they respond relatively quickly.
3729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NEWS US Congress Releases Extraordinary Report Praising Cryptocurrency on: March 20, 2018, 06:47:14 AM
It's honestly all points that we all knew before we started to invest in bitcoin.

It's all common sense and common knowledge within the bitcoin world, and they're just putting it on paper. That's literally all they're doing. Again, I think that it is exaggerated every time the government or the regulators do something, it's either really good or really bad.

People need to start realising that most of the times when they come out with these reports or regulations, it doesn't change anything. And this new piece of news seems to be a catalyst in the current price recovery, which is good. But people should stop overreacting to these news articles. Do your own research.
3730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to invest in cryptocurrency in India? on: March 20, 2018, 06:38:09 AM
In India, the transaction in cryptocurrency is not yet approved by Indian Government but they are saying, we need to analysis it before approval.

Our Finance minster Arun Jaitley said in his budget speech that the government will do everything to discontinue the use of virtual currencies in India.

So, we are in dilemma to invest in this or not?

Worst case scenario is that your country entirely bans bitcoin, which is unlikely. They are probably going to try to regulate the exchanges and somehow make profits off taxing bitcoin purchases one way or another. And even if it does happen, and you have BTC, you can still easily sell it p2p.

There is really nothing to worry about. Bitcoin exists without any intervention from central banks. Your only risk here is not making a profit by investing in bitcoin, which I think is a low risk if you're looking at long term investments.

To my understanding there were only 2 smaller exchanges that actually went under and most of the major exchanges are still up and running in India, which means that the Indian government has not practically done anything yet. Buy with all the confidence in the world, don't worry about regulation.
3731  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Bitcoin post no risk to the world's Financial instability" on: March 20, 2018, 06:19:18 AM
The point of Bitcoin was that it shouldn't care what regulators have to say about it. If the price of Bitcoin depends on the opinion that G20, a group of old people that don't even know what Bitcoin is or how to use it, is, then this just means that there's a bunch of idiots holding Bitcoin that need to be smoked from the market allocating these coins into the hands of people that will not dump depending on what some bureaucrats have to say.

That's true.

Bitcoin is a currency without any central governance. All of its protocols and rules are enforced in a decentralised way. So really we shouldn't even be giving any notice to what regulators and governments say about bitcoin.

It doesn't change anything that bitcoin has to offer. Doesn't change the network that bitcoin runs on either.

We knew from the beginning that bitcoin posts no risk to financial stability. If anything is promotes it and gives people a way to store their wealth safely, and transact without banks that can go under any time. This is why I've been investing and speculating long term on bitcoin.
3732  Economy / Speculation / Re: From $7.5 to $8.4 (March 19) on: March 20, 2018, 06:07:59 AM
What's your take on the recent bounce of bitcoin price, just hours ago I saw the price as low as $7500 per coinmarketcap and then a surge of doomsayers thread saying that bitcoin can go as low as $2500. Lol.

Now the price is completely reverse itself, care to share your thoughts specially those who are calling that the price will go down? I really love to hear your thoughts on the current reversal.

1. Another bulltrap?
2. Dead cat bounce?
3. $7500 is the bottom and its seems that investors can't deny the fact that is quite cheap already that why they need to get it at this price?

There is a ton of people who are buying at $6-8k which means that any time prices drop below $8k, people are going to swarm all over it like bees over a pile of honey. This is what's happening right now to bitcoin.

It's actually not a very dramatic recovery since it's actually only been a 2-3% change overnight right now. But the percentage was higher earlier in the day.

Is it a bull trap? I don't think so, at least. I think that it's most likely a healthy start to a recovery that bitcoin was going to go on sooner or later. It's not a dead cat's bounce, because we've actually went lower earlier this year with $6k, and we're not even touching that figure this time.
3733  Economy / Speculation / Re: whether it's time to turn green again on: March 20, 2018, 05:55:08 AM
It's the long awaited recovery.

Prices bottomed out at around $8k or just under, which means that there is still a lot of buyers left in the market that will buy in the mid to high ranges of 4 digits. That support is nice to see and can really be the launching pad for the next run up.

I doubt that we're just going to continue to shoot up from this point onwards. In fact I think that today, bitcoin probably overperformed my expectations and I'm calling a correction tomorrow of around 1 to 2 percentage points. But the general momentum has indeed shifted up again, with volumes of more than 6 billion per day compared to previously at the trough where it has been 4 billion.
3734  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the best price for selling Bitcoin in April 2018? on: March 20, 2018, 05:29:32 AM
Hello guys,
What is the best price for selling Bitcoin in April 2018?

You'd be looking at around $12k. Bitcoin's previous highs were all coming out top at around $12k and just before it hits that $12k mark, the prices have plummeted. This happened twice already, which means that $12k is the major resistance to look out for here.

If you think that BTC will fail to breach $12k completely the third time, then sell at around $11.5k.

If you're more bullish, aka if you think it's going to go higher, then I would recommend selling at $13-14k. There is a chance that BTC won't even hit $10k once more, so you could sell at the current level if you wanted to. You do have a lot more flexibility in your decisions if you bought at the bottom of the dip.
3735  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is unfolding like the dot-com crash — just 15 times faster on: March 20, 2018, 05:23:05 AM
The dump is holding up better than I would expect. People are not panicking as much with the news coming out anymore, which means that manipulation through media is now less effective since every time, it has rebounded.

I agree with the statement that bitcoin's cycles are probably a lot faster than other assets.

We experience a major bull market every 3-4 years or so, and have bear markets between these bull markets. Honestly, it's quite predictable. We may go down some more from this point, but within a year or two people will be buying back in for the halving.
3736  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I want to accept btc on my website. What is the best way? on: March 20, 2018, 05:18:34 AM
I'd suggest practically anything that's not Bitpay. Bitpay forces customers to pay via a URL-style method (BIP70 if you want to look into it more) that isn't integrated with many wallets yet (especially mobile wallets), and it's an enormous hassle to get around this, especially on a mobile device. Even besides that, they're generally against Bitcoin as a whole.

BTCPayServer's a great alternative, as is Coinpayments, and Coinpayments is actually backwards compatible with most of the things in Bitpay IIRC.

Yeah... I hate Bitpay because nobody knows how to use that payment URL. And they force you to do it as well. It's not an option. But I wouldn't go as far as to discounting it as an option, because there are some advantages to using it.

Coinpayments seems to be a good option right now, I have tested them myself and they seem good overall. Shapeshift can work as well though it focuses on altcoin payments.

It's probably going to be too expensive to build your own bitcoin payment system so I think that paying a percentage to these merchants would be a good idea overall. But do your research before you choose one.
3737  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: WARNING! Google Chrome Scam discovery on: March 19, 2018, 07:00:57 AM
So I saw something online that might help inform if not help most users in this forum. I was doing a research concerning cryptos and saw a news about some adwords which are been placed on google for blockchain wallet users. These ads looks like a replicate of blockchain websites and any visitors to the site will fall viticm.

Though the ads has been taken down by Google but one needs to be careful cause it might resurface anytime. Aside shit ICOs, I guess these are among the reasons why Google  are forced to take harsh major decisions against digital coins.
More information; https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/science-technology/920571/Google-Chrome-warning-fake-download-Bitcoin-scam-Google-Adwords

Thanks for the heads up.

The user above me mentions it as well, bookmarking the bitcoin related site that you use often is a good practice. Have an entire bookmark folder dedicated to bitcoin stuff, if you have the ability to keep it organised.

That's the best option. Also, just never click on google ads at all. At all costs as well.

The range of phishing attempts is just absolutely out of anyone's mind. It can go from a news site phishing attack, to a wallet phishing attempt. And it can come from google ads which is very common, pretty much all google ads are phishing sites, or emails. Always check that you're going to the right URL. Never entire any passwords until you have verified you are on the right website.
3738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Arizona Senate Passes Bill to Accept Tax Payments in Bitcoin on: March 19, 2018, 06:49:16 AM
Smiley :)I read about a news Arizona bill last week I think and I was surprised about it this the first way to have trick you reveal crypto profit so it can get taxed .and stay good since everyone is actually accepting the bitcoin.somehow I am just curious of all how to manages this fiscal change in terms if its adjusting for fluctuations against the target per person collection for the state .and others government are faithfully follows a rules and add bitcoin as a method of payment for taxes .I all go to see those who are interested in paying with cryptocurrencies..

Most people do not use just one Bitcoin address for everything they do. The only positive thing for them from this, is that they would be able to identify Bitcoin users, once these people start paying their taxes in Bitcoin. So once you paid with Bitcoin, you would be under their radar as a Bitcoin user and you could expect a full audit of your finances.

The government will never do something good, if there is not something in it for them.  Roll Eyes

Agreed. And I guess they also think that it encourages more crypto users to pay tax since it makes the process easier for them, which I think is fair enough. But they may start recording people as potential "crypto users" and selectively judging their finances and targeting them because of their status as a "crypto user".

That is undeniable, and a huge risk for anyone to pay their taxes in crypto. Just pay in it fiat, it's to the government and no real advantages since you're going to apparently be subject to "24h" of crypto volatility according to the article. Converting crypto to fiat is pretty easy anyways.

Arizona is probably trying to become a more progressive state in terms of cryptocurrency and Fintech by doing this, but they're not going to find success by legitimising crypto payments in taxes. They need to do much more than that to make an impact.
3739  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbet Scam [ 4300Euro Locked ] | Help me on: March 19, 2018, 06:18:00 AM
1xbet locked my account with 4300 euro and i am helpless now.

i emailed them several times and i have did whatever they want like , :
I sent my all ids to them , i sent my skrill screenshot with them but these scammers are still not releasing my funds .

This is not total winning , its like my deposit in multiple times .

Anyone can help me to get money out from those scammers ?

Willing to pay also to help me

You need to include some screenshots and explanation of what happened.

Like did you claim some bonus? What did you do that may have triggered them to not pay you out that may be in violation of their terms and conditions, or are they just not withdrawing funds for absolutely no reason at all apparently?

We need more proof, before anyone can help you.

But if you've answered all their demands and they're still not paying you out that's just crazy. I don't know how they're getting away with this, but they're definitely not by any means a trusted place to play at anymore. They've got multiple accusations opened against them last year and their business is almost dead(along with their sister site 1xbit).
3740  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CLOUDBET JUST BANNED ME AND WONT ALLOW ME TO WITHDRAW on: March 19, 2018, 06:12:19 AM
And in their terms and conditions they've definitely got clauses saying that they are able to lock your account and retain your deposit and whatever if they even "suspect" you of multi-accounting. And it's hard for you to prove them wrong if they do "suspect" you.
Local civil and criminal laws always stand above private terms and conditions. To confiscate your account balance based on a suspicion has no legal basis and they need to show the proof.

Shady casinos act like this, because 99,9% of the players are not willing to spend something to enforce their claim. It is +EV for the shady casinos.

Yes agreed. Which is why I never play on casinos who even offer bonuses now because I know they are going to make up for this bonus by something else. Or they're going to make it almost impossible for you to take advantage of the bonus. It's just too much hassle to deal with.

The burden of proof is on them if they want to confiscate your account balance. They need to prove with 100% certainty that you were cheating, not the other way around. Otherwise, don't bother having promos in the first place.

It'll be nice for OP to post an update on what's happened. But i still stand by avoiding cloudbet. No forum support at all, admin isn't directly involved with support the same way PD or Bitsler admins are, quite shady terms and conditions and is registered overseas where it's harder to start a legal case against.
