What was your pick for this week on nutildah's game?

Browns.  I like the Steelers, but this year is a wash, I think.  They need to get planning for Ben's retirement.

oh wow yeah that weather is gross in baltimore so the Ravens have a distinct advantage this game.

I agree, that tipped pass just made shart.

Niers strike first!  4th and 2, they go for the fucking bomb?  It looked like it would get intercepted for a second there.

3762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: December 01, 2019, 06:00:18 PM
I had as my main pick O 45.5 on SFO v BAL game but reports are 90% chance of rain (humidity 93) and i don't really want to bet against the weather so i'm skipping this one.

Noting on the line here, but this is going to come down to who runs the ball better.  I didn't notice anyone betting against the Niners.   Grin

I know I'm crazy and taking a big risk but if you don't take the risk there is no reward. Good luck to everyone having a bet.

Holy brass balls, batman!  Best of luck man, I'll be rooting for you.

Good luck on your bets everyone!
3763  Economy / Reputation / Re: A Song of Vices and Ire: Alternate Account Campaign Enrollment on: December 01, 2019, 05:46:05 PM
But getting one personal exception from one campaign manager if you're an exceptional poster should be easier than convincing everyone to change their campaign rules for every participant, right?

This is a good point, but imagine the cataclysmic fallout if DarkStar_ were to allow both of Hilarious' accounts into ChipMixer.  The kvetching would lead to countless threads by numerous trolls across half a dozen boards, and would last for months.  There would be accusations of favoritism, inside dealings, conflicts of interest, and who knows what else.  To a large extent it would be difficult to justify and harder to defend against the allegations.

If the accounts were not publicly known as alts, but the manager allowed the exception he would be at the mercy of the user keeping the accounts' connection a secret.  Should the manager accept risking his reputation to allow one exceptional user to register an alt?  If the accounts and the exception ever do become exposed the fallout would be even more cataclysmic in proportion.
3764  Economy / Reputation / Re: A Song of Vices and Ire: Alternate Account Campaign Enrollment on: December 01, 2019, 04:00:50 PM
The forum rules about alts leave a lot of room for freedom and abuse, obviously.  I don't see an issue with campaign managers implementing no-alt rules for their campaigns.  It might be primarily an effort to reduce spam (which we can all agree is a good thing,) but we can't say that's the only reason.  I'd like to believe that the more successful managers also have an inherent belief in fairness.  There's also the level of exposure, as others have mentioned.  There are a lot of good posters on this forum who frequent different parts of the forum.  Spreading positions around will only help the campaign reach more boards and therefor expand exposure.  That's unlikely to happen if one user enrolls several alts.

What has always confused me... is the fervour with which some folks seem to hunt out these alt accounts who are "abusing campaigns"... I'm not sure if they see it as an "easy" way to score some merits, as opposed to other forms of contribution to the forum?

That's an expected result of a decentralized trust system.  Some members are certain to be more concerned about some types of abuse than others.  In my opinion this is a sign that the system is working.  It's also fair to point out that enrolling alts in the same campaign isn't the only way alts are abused.  It may be the most common way to justify a red-tag, which can then prevent the alt from being abused in other ways.  Fattening up alt accounts with rank and trust to be sold, used to scam, or to provide self-escrow are only some examples.  Nipping these alt farms in the bud could prevent a lot of pain for the community later.

I suspect in the majority of the ICO/IEO/altcoin campaigns, neither the project owners nor the campaign managers really care... about alts or spam... they just want maximum exposure for the 0.00000002BTC worth of tokens they're going to have to give out to the participants... if they even bother to give any out

I can't disagree with this sentiment.  But the accounts enrolled in these shit-coin shilling schemes aren't likely to ever rank up and become problematic in other ways.  The merit system has pretty much solved that issue.  There are still a few sophisticated account farmers who are able to rank up alts despite the merit system, which in my opinion is the bigger issue.
3765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: December 01, 2019, 03:10:51 AM
My pick of the week would be the 49ers +6 versus the Ravens. The Ravens are good, might be winners of the AFC conference, however, they might not beat -6 spread versus one of the best teams in the NFC.

This has to be the best pick of the week for odds gamblers.  There's a good chance the Niners will surprise everyone.  I'm not just saying that as a Niner's fan (well, maybe I am,) but there's no reason to believe they won't at least cover the spread.  They've been strong on the road all year, even on the east coast.

As you can see the position of Dallas Head Coach is not as attractive as it may seem at first.

Your reason 1 is very much the most significant, and directly affects the ability to remedy the other two.  Jones would try to interfere even if he had Bill Belichick as his coach/personnel manager.   Jones takes it personally.  I have a lot of respect for the man, he's obviously not dumb, and he knows a lot about football.  But I think it's difficult for an owner to step back from hard decisions, and not have them be personal.  The way he tried to will Tony Romo back into action is an example.  It's a commendable trait, to become friends with your employees and treat them like family.  But it ain't the best way to run a football team.

A strong general manager that has no choice but the run the franchise like business is going to take a more clinical approach to personnel decisions.

Now that's awkward because Netherlands and Estonia appear on the list of countries that support MasterCard Withdrawals from the very website that purportedly restricts the said countries.

Is it just a mistake or am I missing something?

I think they are two are separate points of discussion.  The jurisdictional restrictions for the service may or may not overlap with the restrictions of credit card policies.

There's also this in the FAQ:

Quote
Withdrawal with Visa IS NOT SUPPORTED for the following countries:
USA
South Korea
Singapour
Bangladesh
British Indian Ocean Territory
Cambodia
Macau, China
Nepal
New Zealand
Pakistan
Philippines
Shri Lanka
Thailand
Vietnam
For all other countries withdrawal with Visa IS SUPPORTED.

Note that it says Visa withdraws are supported for countries not on the list, even though many are restricted from using the service.  And, they even bothered to include restricted countries onto the list.

Try running Electrum as administrator, that may solve your issue.
I don't know why but I'm having the same issue with my KeepKey, but it works if I start Electrum with admin rights.

If he said he would pay you, but didn't a type 2 flag would be appropriate.  I din't see DarkStar_ mentioned in the screenshots, but I kind of scanned them.  Was he supposed to provide escrow?

Congratulations on reaching Legendary, squatz1.  It's well deserved.  You are by far one of the most rational folks in the P&S section, and your posts are always well thought out.

I hope to be joining the Legendary club myself some day.  According the calculator, it'll happen for me sometime between June 2020 and February 2021.

I hope buffalo's D comes through as I forgot to swap them out! Sad

Two turnovers (almost three) and holding them 7 points so far.  That isn't bad.  But they're letting Dallas rack up the yards.  Hopefully they can keep them out of the endzone.  My second favorite team in the league is whoever is pitted against Dallas that week.  I loved what Tom Brady said before last week's game; "I've really not liked the Cowboys since coming out of the womb, as a Niner fan.”

3776  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: trezor 12 or 24 word recovery on: November 28, 2019, 08:28:41 PM
My trezor T never had the option to chose between 12 or 24 word revovery seed. Got started with a 12 word seed and tried it out, I made some transactions even to a passphrase wallet. How do I create a new 24 word seed? Do I need to remove my wallet and create a new?

I guess there isn't any other solution with my current funds then send it away from my 12 word wallet?

By the way, isn't 12 word enough? Especially if I use a passphrase..

There's nothing wrong with a 12-word seed phrase.  The odds of someone cracking a 12-word Bip39 phrase are infinitesimally small.  Having said that, I have a 24-word phrase for my wallets.

The easiest, most secure way of generating a 24-word phrase for your Trezor T is to initiate it with the Electrum client.  Don't download Electrum from anywhere other than this link:  https://electrum.org/#download

You'll have to delete the current wallet before you initialize with Electrum, and make sure it has the latest firmware.

Another option is use the iancoleman Bip39 tool to create a 24-word phrase, but only do this if you have an air-gapped computer to use.
3777  Economy / Reputation / Re: P2PB2B - resolving "scam alerts" and misunderstandings on: November 28, 2019, 08:04:34 PM
We create this topic for analyzing each complaint individually. To ultimately resolve all current misunderstandings and false"scam alert".  I wanted to deal with each punkt and eliminate the negative impact. If I missed something - please complete me.

That's commendable.  I'll go through the list and lend my opinion, for what it's worth.

I must admit, this looks pretty shady.  I had never heard of your exchange before these scam accusations started popping up.  I find it hard to believe you've got the trading volume that the screenshot suggests.  Personally, I don't think it's worthy of a red-tag or a flag.  It does however suggest that you may be manipulating information that's passed on to CMC.  If that's the case I suggest you don't.  No exchange can be trusted if they are suspected of manipulation and false advertising.

I suspect JollyGood thinks your response is a lie?  It sounds like a made up excuse to me, but again, I wouldn't red-tag over it.  Coinsbit definitely looks like a Ponzi, and it wouldn't be good if you were proven to be affiliated.  Having said that, I don't see any solid proof of such.

3. http://archive.is/DjmMe - minus trust from logfiles and Pamoldar. I don't know what's there. Its don't loading

It's an archive link, it points the same post as number 6 on your list.

Numbers 5 through 11 are the concerning part for me.  That's a lot of dissatisfied customers, and if it were my business I would want them happy with the way I handled adversity.  I'm looking forward to seeing how these situations are handled, and I'll look through them more carefully as I have time.

3778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: November 28, 2019, 05:43:51 PM
I'm going with the Browns, I think they'll win and cover the 2-point spread easily.

I'm surprised the 49ers are underdogs this week, and by 6 points.  No respect!  I'm tempted to bet on a sports game for the first time in my life.  The Niners were built to thwart dual-threat quarterbacks, and Lamar Jackson isn't on Russell Wilson's level in my opinion.  I'm okay, with everyone overlooking them.  GO NINERS!
