381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETH better than BTC for payment? on: June 18, 2020, 02:44:42 PM
Very often we see people sugget to use ETH or any alternative coin for cheap and faster tx. I am going to share some information which will proof that it is no better. I may be wrong too, I am not an expert here. Just sharing what I have got.

BTC Avg. Block time- 10 minutes
ETH Avg. Block time- ~14 seconds (now)

So, ETH will get around 43 blocks = 1 BTC block

BTC block size- 1 MB (Let's say we use Legacy only)
ETH Block size- 20 to 30 kb (Let's say 25kb on average)

How much byte can both proceed within 10 minutes?
Both BTC and ETH will be able to proceed 1 MB tx data on average.

Is not both same in term of handling tx? Sometimes BTC is even better with segwit.
Just sharing some random thoughts, I am not expert technically. So, I may be wrong in many ways.
Obviously Eth is much better for payments as compared to btc. Even yesterday i saw people complaining slow and costly Eth transactions but i tried a transaction it went through in under a minute with only 18 cents fee which is very reasonable i guess, while for btc i think fee is higher and transaction also takes much longer time to confirm.
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins vs. Stablecoin: which is more suitable for merchant crypto payment? on: June 18, 2020, 01:57:41 PM
One advantage of stablecoins is price stability. Merchants don't have to worry about price volatility when transacting in stablecoins. In the past and present, there have been a handful of projects proposing issuing altcoins (non-stablecoins) that will lead the future of crypto payment. What's the fate of such projects, will there ever be considered viable?
For merchants definitely stablecoins make sense because these traders and retailers want to see stability and fix amount while receiving payments only merchants or traders that have good insight about crypto accept or want to accept cryptos because they know that in future the value will grow and hence their profit but it is ok if the majority wants to use stablecoins, they should be provided with that option if that helps adoption.
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your Biggest Crypto Regret? on: June 17, 2020, 08:19:02 PM
Many people regret that they did not buy BTC while they first knew about it. For some, they did not sell BTC while they could. Roll Eyes

For me, I got MWC & HEX for free from airdrop to BTC HODLers, but dumped them before they peak. I could easily make 10x of my existing BTC, if I held them strong. Cry

What is your Biggest Crypto Regret?
My biggest regret remains that i got huge opportunity of taking profit from the last big bull run of 2017 end and 2018 start where many of my tokens grew by multifold but greed got on my nerves and i thought they will continue to grow more and more but eventually downtrend started and almost all of them are now more than 10x in loss considering the ico prices.
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What future is expected for new altcoins? on: June 17, 2020, 07:17:18 PM
do you think new altcoins will have a good future?

What do you expect from the new altcoins?

today i took the time to see some projects and found some things that made me think: What future can we expect from new altcoins?

to get an idea I found these projects:

Banana Bomb

Banana Bomb is a Deflationary/Reward Token with a Destruction rate of 3.5%. This means the total supply decreases with each transaction. Reward Rate of 3.5%, it means 3.5% of every transaction is sent to a reward wallet. These reward tokens are then distributed to a randomly generated number of users every month.

satoshivisioncoin

GLOBAL P2P PAYMENT SYSTEM

SVC is a token for P2P transactions. Our vision is Satoshi Vision use SVC as BTC. SVC is alternative to Bitcoin.

it looks like a project to steal people's money

moneytoken

A decentralized ETHEREUM based Network

https://moneytoken.xyz/

I didn't see any team member

it looks like a project to steal people's money

I could put more other projects, but for now I think that with these projects that I put in, we can have a good discussion about which way we are going
Why are you even interested in low quality projects even promoting them here does not make sense, atleast promote quality projects with competent and responsive team and practical products. One recent example is swissborg CHSB just analyse them, it was a good product with competent team and just check how the coin is performing now, investors and hodlers are happy, this is what happens when you hold quality coins.
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE NEXT ETH?? on: June 17, 2020, 06:30:00 PM
I often hear people comparing their alt bags to the next eth, or this reminds me of antshares back in the day type of comments. It is usually someone trying to convince you to buy their bags. ETH, Monero ect were kind of unicorns in the way they blew up and went on insane runs in value. I am not so convinced the alts today are going to become the next ETH as people say. The alts I hear constantly are the next ETH are LINK,TEZOS  ect but I dont see it. ETH has the adoption you can build ERC20 coins on it, and it is widely used, but what am I going to do with my Link token?? stake it? If tezos can get the adoption then that would make more sense to me. My main point here is don't fall for the my alt coin is the next ETH! Sure there will be others that will be unicorns and you may get lucky, but out of the thousands of alts out there your likely going to be holding the next coin that goes to zero instead of the next ETH. Give me ONE coin that you believe could be the next unicorn. Keep in mind that most alts are just copies of BTC,ETH,MONERO!!! Maybe we can find a real unicorn here?? If you are going to schill me your alt coin please limit it to ONE alt only!!! If this comes off as negative that's not my intention I'm just tired of hearing the term the next ETH I would love to invest in the next unicorn but I just don't see anything out there comparable right now.
Exactly, i am myself tired of hearing next btc or next eth or other terms like btc/eth killer and all these terms sound nothing but a cheap way to get some attention and believe me by using such terms these new coins increase the popularity and interest in btc/eth by giving them free advertising.
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spread hopes, help the fallen to stand on their feet once again on: June 16, 2020, 11:33:41 PM
Sometimes hope can be something very hard to grab on for those who have lost alot in crypto space, I need some good vibe (encouragement) from people who have really lost it all in crypto space and make more later than what they've lost before, share me your sad to happy stories ( from grass to grace ). Who knows? We could be helping those who thoughts it's the end for them.

Do not worry about the losses, you will make much much more that will put you in profit soon, just try to accumulate top quality coins and wait for the real bull season to start.
I know what your post means but you are not alone, no one is an expert from day one, everyone does those mistakes and wrong investments and at the end of the day lose money, this is everyone's story including me but we need to stay positive as with a good strategy great times are coming ahead for sure.
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DONT MARRY YOUR ALTCOIN BAGS on: June 16, 2020, 10:03:29 PM
Everyone has different experience with different coins, we have seen some coins pumping right after listing and some coins keep drowning but as soon as they launch their product and it attracts users and activity the prices pumps madly but it may tale 2 to 3 years time. So you never know but one thing is clear if you are in a quality project and they are building something unique with good practical use cases and revenue generation model then the coin will definitely pay off sooner or later so we should keep hodling quality ones and take profit from the projects where we have less confidence.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Media Titan w/ Over 144 Million Readers Tests Ripple-Backed Coil for Web Monetiz on: June 16, 2020, 09:44:04 PM
Superb update for ripple supporters and xrp holders, i am sure this will send good vibes across ripple community and longterm supporters will feel a bit relieved to know this as this is a completely new and unique partnership or affiliation that involves xrp and it will expand xrp use cases and hence the revenue it generates with growth in ots ecosystem, more demand for xrp and hence increase in value.
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Indian institute of Science helping make Blockchain for Businesses. on: June 13, 2020, 09:52:39 PM
Privacy-centric blockchain has announced that they have expanded their academic presence bringing on a new strategic research partner: the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. This global initiative now supports 3 university partners to further accelerate academic research, tech development, and innovation in blockchain, IGAs, and cryptography.

https://medium.com/concordium/the-indian-institute-of-science-to-join-concordium-academic-council-ba53b3b0722f

I know that several major universities are already doing further research and work for blockchain technology, and IMO, this is what will help us take this technology to the next level. Thoughts?
I hear mixed kinds of news related to blockchain and crypto from India, looks like there is immense discrimination in understanding crypto between the govt there and masses because we hear news like complete ban of crypto and on the other hand universities offering degree programs in the same niche, may be govt or beaurocracy there still lacks enough knowledge about blockchain tech and its importance for future development.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need advice, there are plans to launch tokens, tied to exchange trading. on: June 10, 2020, 08:39:14 PM
I do not think such a project can work because if you will not be able to make profit even for couple of weeks people will start selling the token or they will start asking for refunds and you will be found in no mans land, trafing for masses is not an easy task, you will also be responsible gor other people's money and it is an extreme pressure job.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Someone just paid $2,6M in fees while sending just $133 in ETH on: June 10, 2020, 08:31:14 PM

I am pretty much this was because of fat fingers, but how an earth there's no security measures for this kind of thing? It's 2020 already and after seeing this kind of mistakes, i am pretty sure that ETH adoption is further away. Just one warning message informing about the possible huge mistake could have saved millions for this guy.
That is insane amount of fee paid, is this transaction made by an individual or is it coming from some exchange account, i do not think many have millions of worth of eth in their wallets to pay such fee, i think there should be a mechanism to claim refund for such transactions that were made out of mistake.
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dai Stablecoin on: June 10, 2020, 08:20:59 PM
Not the biggest fan of maker. You should read this article about stablecoins: https://www.forbes.com/sites/shermanlee/2018/03/12/explaining-stable-coins-the-holy-grail-of-crytpocurrency/#16a8a1c04fc6

My personal favorite is Havven. https://havven.io/
Interesting to read your choice back then, although havven has rebranded into synthetix network now but their products and services are really doing well and in future the potential is even bigger and i think that synthetix has a clear path ahead of them as they are the market leaders in their niche.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Watch out for the following on: June 09, 2020, 10:13:45 PM
Newbies like myself be warned, don't make crypto decisions because of the following, they are very misleading and extremely danger to your money

1. Crypto Analysts predictions
2. Hyped projects by billionaires or known people e.g McAfee
3. Going into futures and margin trading when you haven't even mastered normal trading

Seek for answers and you shall find, knowledge is power
Well, definitely you are right and i think there is a need to focus on the third point more, people need to understand that margin trading is not for everyone , it is so risky that you can even burn your 100k account with a couple bad trades so avoiding margin trading is recommended and greed should not take over otherwise you can lose even your original money, try normal and 1:1 ttafing and master it to make consistent profitable trades everyday or week.
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coca Cola going to join Cryptocurrencies Australia and New Zeland on: June 09, 2020, 09:41:35 PM
Vending machines across Australia and New Zealand will soon accept cryptocurrency, thanks to a partnership between Coca-Cola Amatil and digital asset integrator Centrapay.

https://www.zdnet.com/article/you-can-now-buy-a-coke-with-cryptocurrency-across-australia-and-new-zealand/
Is centrapay the same project that had an ico like 2 3 years back but it was charged by some US authorities and perhaps it was closed down i am not sure but the name is exactly the same.
Regarding the acceptance of crypto, i think market is on the move and now we should regularly hear such news and no doubt we are slowly moving towards mass adoption.
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New projects willing choosing bad exchanges? on: June 09, 2020, 09:26:12 PM
I think the solution to IEO launchpads and hosting on low quality exchanges is the regulations, all such exchange sand platforms should be regualyed by some global financial authority and all these paltforms should also seek clearance and license for a new project before hosting a new IEO, this will not only filter out bad quality projects but all these IEO hosting exchanges will also be monitored and they will not be able to host low quality projects and investor will also benefit massively from such a situation.
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Giving away too much quantities of tokens in bounties on: June 08, 2020, 07:56:39 PM
I've seen one or two bounty campaigns on here with massive token allocations for bounty participants, I'm wondering how this won't affect the value of the token, I believe giving away too many quantities of tokens can easily ruin the value of the token, most especially bounties that are doing 4 Rounds of campaigns, what's your take on this???
Bounty is a marketing thing and projects do receive value in terms of viral advertising and potentially investors back as a result of bounty campaign, how can you forget airdrops where millions and millions of tokens are given away just to follow social media and fill a form? I think giving away tokens is a strategy by teams to develop a support community for the project that goes a long way for the support of project and also helps to support and promote the project longterm.
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT DOES IT REALLY MEAN on: June 08, 2020, 07:26:15 PM
I am new to cryptocurrency world and I've learnt a lot since I started reading about it but I've not really gotten much of understanding on what is meant by FIAT CURRENCIES?

You do not need to understand what fiat currencies are if you are interested in cryptocurrencies and crypto market because fiat currencies are just the traditional paper currencies like usd, euro, gbp etc from where you are coming so why would you still want to stuck there? Just try to understand how cryptocurrencies work and what use cases they present and what problems they solve for the world atleadt focus on bitcoin and ethereum and you will understand it all in a few months.

399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop wasting your electricity on: May 31, 2020, 08:29:55 PM
I've been sleeping on a false hope for a very long time, I was a fan of new cryptonote coins and I've spend years gathering them, thinking I will be rich one way or the other, I mined coins like

1. Mask Coin
2. Goro Coin
3. Snowflake
4. Recoal
5. Tokl
6. Festival Coin
7. Btor

All these coins are now abandoned and dead, no update since 2018, I'm sharing this today to warn those who still believes in petty coins like these, stop wasting electricity and mine better coins like Monero, Haven Protocol and other popular cryptonight coins or regret later on
To be honest mining even the bigger coins has lost its charm now considering the high costs of equipment, electricity and then the carbon output the only adopted new model with more or less same functions is staking and it is getting popular as the largest altcoin Ethereum is also upgrading to offer pos algorithm.
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Blockchain Matrix Project (FORSAGE): 100% DECENTRALIZED on: May 25, 2020, 06:26:24 PM
Personally i do not recommend matrix or ponzi based programs because even if they are run with professionalism and clear intentions still sooner or later they will stall, such programs need constant flow of new miney in the system for people to make money which is not possible.
