381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZenithCoin (ZTC) Market Making Sustainable Crypto Currency on: March 06, 2014, 04:58:16 PM
Is this coin dead? Its been around so long and it has such a low cap...

What kind of road map does ZTC have? Or is it just another premine pump and dump?

Never been pumped... just hangs around at the bottom.

However the new owner has really good plans for this!

"Zenith To the Moon!"

What are those plans? I have heard "plans" "strategy" "publicity" all to often lol

Be nice to know an exact plan with a time frame...
This would give investors something to go off.
Plus i can't see any block reward distribution over time.

Disclaimer: Stake is my primary concern - I chose my name for a reason. Also, I do hold BTG.

Mineral, community,

I enjoy the ingenuity of the qt client and rarity of BTG. It is the only coin beside BTC that I hold that does not have have high stake.

I would like to appeal to you and to the community to increase the stake for BTG. It is languishing at the bottom of coinmarketcap when it shouldn't be. It is more rare than UNO. It is stable from a code point of view. Mineral is responsive as a dev. And it is inventive.

I know the rarity of the coin is a selling point, so the value of the stake needs to be weighed against this. However with the coin cap of BTG there will never be many of them. Currently if there are ~28000 BTG and we increase at a PoS rate of ~3% a year we'll gain a max of 840 BTG a year. It will take...forever to reach the max coin cap.

Currently even BTG suffers from from pump and dump. I believe if you increase the stake you will increase price stability, you will draw more attention and more potential investors and thus increase the value of the coin.

Just my .02 BTG

Mineral is hardly active. He has missed deadlines.. I dropped out at 6 as the dev is very un-supportive.

So will the exchange be up and running by the 10th of this month?

+500 from me, if you say something nice about the coin. Like: why you like adaptive N or something similar.

EDIT: I figured out that 500 coins is too much for a simple statement. Maybe somebody should prepare a quiz......
Today's question is....

EDIT2: I have bad experience with giveaways. One person didn't even bother to log off and log in with new username; people with many brothers ;...

Ill add to the fund and any promotions going.

Yes more information you give the more i understand. Thanks.

I look forward to reading your whitepaper, this will give me and others interested in BTG a broader understanding of how the system works.

These questions will arise on first glance of BTG, but if we keep these questions coming, people can easily get more of an understanding by reading these pages.

So say if someone would send me 1 diamond at 1 carat, i would then receive that 1 diamond which is automatically then transferred back to Bitgem?

How would i attach a contract to that, if it cancels the diamond back to btg?
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BTG BitGem >>> NEW SECURITY UPDATE 0.4.1.8 <<< UPGRADE NOW <<<< on: February 23, 2014, 10:21:30 PM
hmm - I'm also trying to get my head around this.
So if I then create e.g. a special diamond with high specs in cut, clarity, shape etc - how do I send that specific one to another wallet?
And will the owner of that other wallet then be able to convert this diamond into something other in his wallet - or why would he?
It's very complex - but maybe I will eventually understand it Smiley

Good questions!
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BTG BitGem >>> NEW SECURITY UPDATE 0.4.1.8 <<< UPGRADE NOW <<<< on: February 23, 2014, 04:04:12 PM
So, why would I split my bit gems into seperate gems? To pay to other bit gem wallets without having to transact into BTC, knowing the exact price of what I'm sending?

I too am confused on the purpose of the system. I believe I understand how it works, but I'm not sure exactly what the point is or what advantage it offers an end-user.

You could use

diamond - 1 carat - j color - vvs2 clarity - good cut... as say mortgage contracts.
diamond - 2 carat - j color - vvs2 clarity - good cut... as say gold contracts.
diamond - 2 carat - e color - vvs2 clarity - good cut... as say silver.

So on so on.

BTG can be used to create 1000s of different contracts.
If mineral can achieve these things btg will get allot of interest.

This is my basic understanding of the gem system.

What is being released next week exactly? if the working gem system isn't included?

I'm misunderstanding allot you say when it comes to your posts, as i was under the impression a working gem wallet was being released next week?

Am i wrong?
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BTG BitGem >>> NEW SECURITY UPDATE 0.4.1.8 <<< UPGRADE NOW <<<< on: February 23, 2014, 11:27:46 AM
Will someone explain the point of the individual gems with the colored coins please, I don't understand it and would like to

BTG can be forged into Diamonds, Rubys, Sapphires or Emeralds, or abbrev. DMD, RBY, SPR, EMD (obviously our colored gems blockchain are not related with string copy-clones there out ). There are two processes implied:

1) Gem-forging process is represented like BTG -> {DMD, RBY, SPR, EMD}. It is carried out when user forges  DMD, RBY, SPR, EMD with explicit settings of carat, color, clarity, cut and shape properties.

2) Bitgeminization is represented like {DMD, RBY, SPR, EMD} -> BTG. It is the opposite of Gem-forging, and it is carried out when an incoming BTG transaction is refunded to existent gems and re-forged.

The aim of current developement is to provide a native method for sending colored gems, ie. DMD, RBY, SPR, EMD.

Gem-forging and Bitgeminization process are planned to be developed next.

I hope to have clarified a bit here.

Regards.

Are Gem-forging and bitgeminization going to be included in the update next week?

hey bitgemers, I have done substantial progress with sending gems. I have added an aditional tab "Send gems", enabling straight sending gems feature. Still work is needed, but I think a BETA pre-release is affordable for middle of next week.

Besides,  I will need beta-testers for testing sending gems feature. This is a true innovative coin, with new source and features. For this reason, it will be needed a full software cycle completion, ending up with testing the new feature.

This is the looking of the new PRE-ALPHA wallet, with sending gems feature. Amazing, doesnt it?

Truly amazing, I was hoping you would add a seperate tab for the gems.
I will contribute to the testing if needed, I would like to be the 1st gem recipient/sender if that's possable :-)

I hope you give your self a pat on the back for bitgem, its going to be a huge success.

BTW, it is possible I release the new GemWallet sooner than thought if I  find a bit more of time.

Excellent news min, can't wait!
Where are you from by the way? Are you Chinese?

Is there anything the community can do? I can arrange a giveaway to keep Bitgem in the public eye.

Curious, since I don't see it anywhere...but how many total bitgems will be created?  Or is there no cap?

Thanks.

There is going to be around 500000 over 50 years.

oogghhhh Angry

i have to interrupt my minting pos blocks process...damn... Grin

How do you get the pos to work?

Just by opening your wallet, have it unlocked and having some mature 1month+ coins to mint a pos block for you Wink

Maybe you'll need a day or a just few seconds to mint that block/s depending on the amount of coins and how mature are. i think max its 3 months old.

To have an general idea read this http://www.peercoin.net/minting.php, in fact the whole whitepaper of PPC is a must read imo

How do i unlock the wallet? I have a password set.
