The normal captcha and recaptcha indeed, at least 2 years back it stopped no bots (all these SEO bots like senuke, xrumer etc).
However, when it comes to image guessing it gets a lot tougher as i know.
This: https://nvpn.net/memberss/index.php is very well made i think.

Except it says "click submit" when there is no submit button. Tongue
It must be your browser setting, bottom line was that i would prefer an image captcha for visitors as well as to prevent bots.

383  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: would qe3 increase the price of bitcoin? on: September 17, 2012, 05:08:29 PM
I doubt whether it will increase the value of Bitcoin per se, but it will most certainly decrease the value of the US Dollar, thus also the price of Bitcoin in terms of US $ per BTC.

In Europe, similar shit is happening with the Euro.

This exactly.
384  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do you spend your hard earned bitcoins[btc] on? on: September 17, 2012, 05:05:31 PM
I used it for speculation, and improving mining equipment as well as paying programmers to get my own pool running.
Sadly i got burned on my speculation on qe3 last week, and the programmers i payd did not managed to get my pool runnning by now  Undecided

387  Economy / Goods / Re: [SELLING] Computer Software Of Any Kind For All Op. Systems!! on: September 17, 2012, 04:16:49 PM
Yeah, another serious offer that contributes to the acceptance of bitcoin.

Beside that, malware is spread with warez, just want to avoid people to complain later here that the wallet was stolen.

Also since there is google and other search engines, anybody seriously interested to get a special software will find it, no need to pay someone for something stolen.

For those who dont mind, at least use a virtualbox and dont run any cracked software on your main pc.
388  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: Wie lange dauert im normalfall eine Transaktion ? on: September 17, 2012, 04:05:29 PM
Habe bitcoin.de schon oft benutzt, bisher keine probleme gehabt.

Normalerweise siehst du die transaktion nach wenigen minuten und musst nur warten bis 6 confirmations da sind bis du über die bitcoins verfügen kannst.
Das dauert idr so 20-30 minuten.

EDIT:
Du hasst schon die blockchain runtergeladen, sonst ist klar das nichts angezeigt wird??

What a dog on day (Week) for traders.

390  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 92 year old WWII veteran kills intruder with rifle on: September 11, 2012, 01:19:04 AM
From one perspective he surely could have tried to diffuse the situation but only by taking a risk. I have seen way to many movies where somebody was killed because he has seen to much for example.
I mean srsly, consider you wake up at night and somebody is already in your house! What i would do is grab the best weapon and wait in a dark corner, but i would not give a noise, hell i dont even know if i would give a noise to call police, maybe dail the number and mumble the address xD.

I run several large forum communities and can tell you hands down that there is no need to re-invent the wheel.

I would highly recommend vBulletin 4.x as the forum software, almost all forums that are of any worth run this software.
vBulletin has an easy import function (Impex) which will convert the existing forum into vBulletin. ( I have down this several times and its straight forward. )

99% of what you have mentioned you would like the forum software to do vBulletin can already do and the other things you have mentioned that are not out of the box functionality are easily coded in simple plugins which I can also do.

I would gladly help you with this transition free of charge.

I would also recommend Servint.net as a hosting provider, I have hosted with multiple companies over the years and even own my own rack & since switching to servint have never looked back there support is second to none.

Servint.net self managed dedi seems quite expensive, isnt it? I currently host with webtropia on an economy server but the hdd`s seems to be slow, the professional line should be good but still seem cheaper for an unmanaged solution.
392  Economy / Gambling / Re: sucked out on: September 11, 2012, 12:49:15 AM

I run Seals.

A server breach would be very bad, but it would not result in loss of all coins, the large majority of coins are off server and encrypted.

There have been some simple collusion attempts quickly caught. It's not possible to completely stop collusion, unfortunately. As we grow we'll be able to dedicate more resources to that. You should always watch out for and report anything you think is suspicious to us at admin@sealswithclubs.eu.

Regarding privacy, we don't want your info and promise not to share any info you happen to end up sharing/revealing to us.

I recognized you bundled all information in the FAQ, id suggest to have a seperated TOS and eventually a privacy statement as visible as the FAQ link.
There should be a clear statement that fraud is not tolerated and actively fighted, including the consequences on such actions, stars tos is a very good example in my opinion.

393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MATTHEW N. WRIGHT IS A SCAMMER on: September 09, 2012, 05:29:53 PM
As long as people tolerate such bets and other ventures there will be threads like this, lol.
394  Economy / Gambling / Re: sucked out on: September 09, 2012, 05:15:33 PM
When i first found seals room i thought nice, a btc poker room, but on the second thought i got this:

I know nothing about their business and how serious it is handled, it could be highly professional or a 1 man business in a garage with a teenager behind.
The second thing is connected to the first, its the security (how secure are the server(s) and if the game server is compromised are all fund at risk) and collusion prevention.
From the poker community i know that its not uncommon as soon as some nice amounts are involved there are professional colluders if the poke rroom does not prevent it.
On the website i could not find any terms of service or a privacy statement or a company associated. From this perspective i would not deposit a single coin there.

395  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for someone to create/modify software for this forum [3600+ BTC] on: September 09, 2012, 02:53:42 AM
Maybe im just to far away on programming to understand what you are looking for but hey, there are huge forums as sayd running vbulletin very successfully indeed, same for mybb.

BTW, this was one of my first thoughts when i visited this forum, "omg the board software sucks but the forum is interesting, ill stay for a while", well after some hours of browsing its ok but first it was really like $&%W%&§$"§$2"§§(/%%%

396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what about allowing an owner to lock BTC to an address for a period of time? on: September 06, 2012, 04:50:14 PM
I like this idea very much indeed.
Beside that, the puplic should be aware of how many bitcoins are locked and how long.
Considered a huge amount of coins is locked up, this of course is a price driver.
397  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why are drugs bad? Is Marijuana killing me slowly? on: September 03, 2012, 04:08:15 PM
Concerning the illegal status on Marijuana i have read sometime ago it was in relation with the chem´/syntetics industry, have read the name dupond some time ago.

However, Marijuana compared to alcohol tells the whole story, i mean look at people who drink everyday and then look at somebody who smokes everyday...
I havent heared or read about a single person who suffered serious injuries because of marijuana - how much people are suffering because of extensive alcohol usage.

398  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do you store your wallet.dat? on: September 03, 2012, 02:24:11 PM
Got my wallet on different hdd`s - no flash drives (had a flashdrive with important data which wasnt accessable after 1 year, so hdd`s only for backup)
399  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to: BTC to neteller or pokerstars on: September 03, 2012, 02:21:46 PM
What about moneybookers, there are plenty of exchanges that do btc to moneybookers, from there you can deposit on stars.
400  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for someone to create/modify software for this forum [3600+ BTC] on: September 03, 2012, 01:54:47 PM
I havent read the whole thread but 3600btc seems nutz.

SRSLY, why not use the vbulletin board, there are many very successful forums using this software, why isnt it enough for the bitcointalk forum?
