The receive tab will show pending if you receive money but the amount is less than what you put into the request. Since the amount can change depending on the exchange rate the receive tab should not be taken seriously. History tab is the best for this purpose.

Of course they are alternatives to lbtc. In case you haven't noticed most of the Pakistani traders on lbtc got banned. People have to migrate to these other sites and this time they have to trade on multiple sites. You can't depend on one site or platform anymore.

There were warning signs with localbitcoins. They introduced KYC measures where you had to submit ID documents to a third party. That third party (onfido) used dodgy AIs to verify you and apparently didn't do so well with non-white people. So lots of people had problems getting verified on there. Now they've gone totally insane and frozen out entire countries.

In electron cash there's a little icon in the bottom status bar that lets you toggle between address types. Click on that and perhaps your history will also update. Otherwise I suggest you ask for help in one of their support communities. The FAQ link on electroncash.org suggests github and telegram support channels.

the 2fa fee is for 20 outgoing transactions. you only made one so far so you won't be charged again any time soon. they can't charge you every transaction because bitcoin is not suitable for micropayments.
there are different wallet types in electrum so you shouldn't have created a 2fa wallet if you didn't want one.
lots of people get caught unawares by this. electrum is too easy to use. it's encouraging noobs who don't pay attention and don't know how bitcoin works.

Electrum can't handle wallets with that many addresses. Use the receive tab to get new addresses. By default you have 20 unused addresses. Is that not enough? More will be created automatically as you start receiving funds to the existing ones.

There's a big ass warning on the console tab about running commands you don't understand. Why did you not pay attention to this?
I would not trust that PC until I did an OS reinstall. Just creating a new wallet is not enough.

you, or someone you share your PC with, used electrum in the past which is why it's detecting an old wallet file on your PC. anyway just enter a different name for the wallet file instead of default_wallet and it'll let you create a new wallet from scratch.

How will this app know it's me as opposed to someone else?
I assume I have to tell it something during setup?

restore your wallet using your electrum seed in electron cash. that's how it'll know what private keys and corresponding addresses to generate. |

you have to first delete the local transaction. only after you do that will you know the true state of your wallet. if it is not to your satisfaction then post the transaction id of the last transaction, the intended recipient's address and amount. you can get the transaction id by right clicking on the transaction, choosing details and copying the large hexadecimal number up top.

There is no easy solution for passing on your coins to your next of kin. You haven't thought through the whole process. Do they know how bitcoin works? Have they got accounts on an exchange? would they be willing to submit to kyc process on an exchange? How likely is it that they screw up and fall victim to a scam or malware?
IMO the simplest solution is to cash out and leave them fiat. Your next of kin are used to handling fiat but not bitcoin.

It's possible as long as you don't use Bitcoin blockchain. But in this case, you might want to use IPFS protocol instead. you can't do complicated smart contracts with bitcoin. it's not ethereum. it's rather limited. this may change in the future with taproot.
Taproot focuses to enhance privacy and reduce script size. I never hear about adding more complex Opcodes altogether with taproot deployment, CMIIW. It lets you add more branches to your contract without it taking up a lot of blockchain space. So in that sense it allows you to make more complex scripts. |

Are you sure you're talking about Ubuntu? It's been a while since I've used Mint OS, which might have a feature like that since it attempts to mimic Windows OS. Unless I'm missing something, Ubuntu 18.04 does not have a feature to create a desktop shortcut under the right-click menu. Depends on the desktop environment you are using. Gnome may not allow you to create icons on the desktop but it must have some alternative like a menu or a dashboard where you can do that. Being able to create shortcuts is a basic feature of every DE! |

run electrum and enter a unique filename in the window that pops up. then go through the process of restoring your wallet file. note electrum only supports bitcoin.
