I already noticed the same thing... Maybe it would be a good idear to generate some statistics in a couple of days and create a list of posts that were given exactly 1 merit AND this 1 merit was needed to stop the demotion of the receivers... That way we could filter trough these posts and neg tag anybody who clearly tried to cheat the system by trading/buying exactly 1 merit....
I remember theymos saying not to tag them for small abuses, and I for sure won't do it.

This is a great news, maybe 5 merits for jr members are even better, I'm very happy with this change.
If Jr. Member requirements go up by 1 Merit point every 6 months, it will demote the farmers again Cheesy

You can feel the pain of loosing money /in terms of copper membership/ or loosing time and effort (or money again) for making this one post to get you the missing 1 point.

Now is perfect time to hunt for the plagiarism, many will come forward with copy/paste guides like this one I reported today >  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030651.msg45821554#msg45821554
3862  Other / Meta / Re: Newbies can now pay a small fee to enable images on: September 17, 2018, 09:49:31 AM
Bumping this one with request go get temporary pinned.. It will decrease the amount of complains posted on Meta for not working ANN images.
3863  Other / Meta / Re: Please can we consolidate all the new ranking threads on: September 17, 2018, 08:16:10 AM
It's almost impossible as almost everyone who lost their signature /money/ are angry and have no time to read, just open a new rant post. Mods will have a lot work in the next few days anyway.
3864  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements on: September 17, 2018, 08:12:41 AM
The wave of Copper shitposters is coming but it won't last for very long, after the first few bans they will start loosing money Smiley
3865  Other / Meta / Re: Fair or not fair about decreasing rank in bitcointalk on: September 17, 2018, 07:54:00 AM
Well your working days in the forum are over now. For good or bad (jk), the changes were made and you have to deal with it.
All the meaningless "conversations" for which people got payed for will now slowly disappear, and if you have something to say, you gonna say it without being "pressed" by the sig. campaign rule to reach so and so posts per week.
If you want to be a part of the community, then be one, no need to spam.
3866  Other / Meta / Re: [Beta] @mention notification bot open for testing on: September 17, 2018, 07:34:28 AM
We are up again for another round of testing. I made changes and fixes based on the past feedback.

I need still to code some way to allow some changes on what should trigger the notifications and the link of the thread where you get notified. So that if somebody want just to receive them when is explicitly mentioned in a certain way can do so. This will happen through PM, with something like this in the body:

Code:
link
tagusername:on/off
quote:on/off
plainusername:on/off

Are those functions enabled by default or we have to manually enable them?
Very useful features btw Smiley
3867  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Announcing BPIP - The Bitcointalk Public Information Project! on: September 17, 2018, 07:30:56 AM
Since he was unbanned manually by theymos, and AFAIK there is are no notifications in the modlog if a user is unbanned /doesn't really happening so often/ i'm pretty sure that this feature won't be implemented. Then Vod has to manually remove the autoban notification for this account.
3868  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements on: September 17, 2018, 06:40:24 AM
Also, newbies can no longer set any signature or personal text.

Then comes this guy.
3869  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos, can we do something for you?? on: September 17, 2018, 06:02:12 AM
I'm locking this thread as theymos already implemented some big changes here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030366.0
3870  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements on: September 17, 2018, 05:56:59 AM
Thank you, theymos. Finally a big change Smiley

0 hompgraphs for the last 24 hours, just 3-4 posts in Russian, based on the forum Search engine.

Seems quite now.
3872  Other / Meta / Re: vlad230's Merit source application - Romanian Local board on: September 16, 2018, 07:08:46 PM
Happy to see that you took the initiative to become a merit source.
I remember you found the phishing links in one of my post and I was very grateful for that. We have been interacting with you before and from what I've seen, you are a the type of the user this forum needs badly.

Wishing you good luck and know that you have my support.
3873  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos, can we do something for you?? on: September 16, 2018, 05:50:01 PM
I'm not doing all this to annoy theymos. I know everything takes time but as i said in my previous tread about the issue with the forum, we can start with those solutions that take almost no effort to implement.

For moderators/patrollers the trust issues is almost nonexistent. Those positions are with limited rights, and if they don't do their job as they should be, the community is here to help, many people investigate the staff's attitude anyway.

I have more than 1800 successful reports /besides the lists with abusers I do/ but this does not change the current situation, a simple example are the hompgraphs.
I got many of the accounts banned but they just coming back every day. LoyceV know well the situation and can confirm it too.

All those abusers are checking frequently the Meta for blockers and are finding solutions really quickly. So the plans and strategies to fitght them have to be discussed on a place not acceptable by them.

I think taking one month to find a moderator for one section should be a acceptable time for theymos. That's why I suggested to have some timeframe to do the small effort tasks. Just to keep something happing.

Don't won't to push anyone,  just to have some systematic approach to the problems and focus one one-by-one solutions, so we can have actual results at the end.

That's all.

3874  Other / Meta / @theymos, can we do something for you?? on: September 16, 2018, 12:36:47 AM
It's been one month since hilariousetc collected the Community generated suggestions to improve the forum.

For this one month all we got was the OK and Not OK[/i] list.

A few direct questions:
- Is there anything the community can do to help you with the current forum situation?? /Except the reporting/

- Will you choose new moderators /add more patrollers??

- Shall we continue reporting?? Hilariousetc doesn't see much of impact of the reports, mostly waste of time. Even if we ban them but they keep coming back.

- Can we start taking one by one the suggestions marked as OK, maybe one in a month for the easy ones and one in two-tree months for the other that takes more time.

- Can you share one or two hours per month to have a conversation with the community on the current issues??
It can be motivational for the both sides.
Don't take it as a report from your side, no. It's your forum, your rules, but the valuable part of the people here need some interaction with you.
Just one,two hours per month. That's it.

- Can we have a dedicated board for discussions with reading restriction for people with low rank and low report score???

I know you probably already hate me for my whining about it, but someone has to push the things to go forward,  and I see no one else doing it /some try tho/.
It's a heavy load you have on your shoulders, let the community help you with it, that's why is a community.

3876  Other / Meta / Re: Why was my YuTü.Co.in user account banned for 7 days? on: September 15, 2018, 12:18:13 AM
Just a technical question, wasn't the ban personal, not just account related? I mean if you are banned, even if you created a new account you are not allowed to post outside meta, isn't this applicable also for the alt accounts too, as the same person is sitting behind them?
I don't want to make enemies here, as I said it's just a technical question related to the application of the forum rules not to make trouble to the OP, rules should be ruled.
3877  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org YouTube channel? on: September 14, 2018, 11:51:27 PM
I thought that we might find solutions to the current problems before we bring new "good" members as they gonna stay here for a short time and flee, when they see the forum clogged with all this shitposting.

I like the idea in general, but finding someone or group of people it won't be easy task.
All applicants should present a portfolio with previous works to meet the requirements.

I have a few cameras prefer for the job, like Canon 70D, with Sigma art 24-105mm lens, as I'm / well, I was/ a hobby photographer.  I could do the recording but I I'm not good at being on camera Sad

Shall we have some format for the applications??
3878  Other / Meta / Re: Can we have a "free services" section somewhere? on: September 14, 2018, 11:11:16 AM
Just to move all those Twitter audit, free followers and Acceleration services at one place?
I know that if there are no money related services should be in the Off-topic but they appear in Services, B&H, Marketplace/ Altcoin-Marketplace, even in the Bounty sections I guess in other places too.
It's just a mess,so let's just put them together somewhere so people who are interested in such services to easily find them and the rest can just browse what they are looking for without being distracted.

Any solutions??

We have a section for them: It's called the trashcan. Any service that doesn't require a bitcoin payment doesn't belong in the Marketplace, nor do they go in Off topic. Anyone posting twitter re-audits don't belong there either because they're just spam fests that nine times out of ten require you to follow the person and post your username. Pure spam. Report them.

Great, that's what I needed Smiley
Thanks, locking this one.
