Would it be better if the Wall Observer thread is locked and a new one is opened ? Since the number of posts in it are more than usual we can create a new one Wall Observer 2020 starting next year and then moving forward make a new one each year.

Not even newbies can be forgiven for some transgressions.

Need a loan of 40,000 DOGE or BTC or ETH,

Im a contractor ( plumbing ) im currently 80% through a job which i will be paid for at completion, my girlfriends car decided to take a massive dump and i had to get it back on the road for her to work, i don't currently have any funds to buy the materials needed to finish my job, assuming i get a loan i can pay this back within 48 hours, happy to pay back 10% interest.

I realize im new, i don't expect any help but worth a try!

If you're like most plumbers you probably have a few tools that you haven't used in years.  Go through your stuff, find some things you can live without, sell the stuff at a local flea-market or on eBay.

No one here will send a $100 to a newbie without any guarantee for repayment.

3928  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor one Passphrase question. on: November 02, 2019, 11:10:42 PM
When I first used my ledger I noted down the seed and the passphrase. I checked the bitcoin public address and noted it down.
Then I reseted the device. Inserted the seed and passphrase again, and checked the bitcoin public address. They matched, so I was sure I noted it correctly.

I recently used the same strategy when creating a new seed for my Trezor.  Very reassuring.

I added one step:  After initializing the wallet the first time I used Electrum to create a watch-only wallet using the master public key.  After restoring the Trezor I could then compare the addresses listed in the HW enabled wallet and the watch-only.
3929  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor one Passphrase question. on: November 02, 2019, 09:28:49 PM
The webapp and Electrum prompt you for the passphrase, so if it was enabled you would know it when trying to access the wallet.

The webapp lets you log into the wallet that's backed up by the seed alone.  If it asks for a passphrase you can leave it blank and still continue, but that won't be the same wallet that's passphrase enabled.  I think it's designed to provide "plausible deniability" in case of a $5 wrench attack.

If you normally use Electrum, you can click on the Hardware icon at the bottom right corner of the window:

And, under the Information tab it'll show if the passphrase is enabled:

If it's not already enabled, you can enable it under the Advanced tab.
3930  Economy / Reputation / Re: Wrongful accusation by Timelord. Did Yahoo put him in DT? on: November 02, 2019, 08:52:18 PM
You clarify his findings are not always accurate, but you value them for selfish reasons anyway. I am not selectively focusing on anything.

Wrong.  I value his efforts, not his findings.  Words matter, you understand them, stop pretending you don't.
3931  Economy / Lending / Re: I can lend from 0.1 to 10 BTC and 0.1 to 100 eth ,daily interest 0.019% on: November 02, 2019, 08:02:00 PM
what if don't want to keep my money in crypto ,maybe i keep it in fiat in a bank ,and  i exchange it in crypto at the moment the borrowers collateral is verified ...

Are you willing to use escrow for the collateral, or must the borrower send the collateral directly to you?

i may take a loan at a bank ,in a country with negative interest rate so i can give a loan to you the borrower ...

What country has banks that lend money with negative interest rates?  That's quite fascinating, I really like the idea of it.  If I borrow money from one of these banks, and hold the loan for long enough, the negative interest rate will just pay off the loan eventually.  Why hasn't anyone else thought of this?  Simply amazing.

you the borrower have to prove the lender that you have the collateral ...

Will this suffice as proof?

3932  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Blender.io - Advanced privacy for Bitcoin transactions (mixer) on: November 02, 2019, 05:53:47 PM
Looks like the clearnet link is working today, it had been down for the last couple of days.  The .to and the .onion sites were working fine during that time.  I hope it was due to all the traffic the new sig campaign was generating.  Grin

Anyway, I was unaware of blender.io before Hhampuz started the campaign, so I'd say it's working already.  I've been playing with the service for the last couple of days, and I like the simplicity and ease of use.

I don't normally feel the need to mix my coins, but the service is invaluable when one does feel the need.  It's nice to have blender.io as an alternative to the big boys across the street.  Just having options is also nice, for a while it seemed like their was only one trustworthy service around.

3934  Economy / Reputation / Re: Wrongful accusation by Timelord. Did Yahoo put him in DT? on: November 02, 2019, 04:12:58 PM
You explicitly said you value his "contributions" for "selfish reasons" in spite of the fact his accusations are unreliable and cause harm to other users. I am sorry if you want to take that back now, but it was your own words, not "form" my reasoning.

Here are my words, unedited, and not retracted:

I may have my selfish reasons, but I also expressed that "I may not always agree with his findings."

It's only one sentence, but you selectively choose to focus on half of it.

P.S. I already have your goat, and if you don't shape up I am going to let Nutilduhh have his way with him.

Genuine lolz, that was funny.  But I have a feeling Nutildah is still having too much fun with Cryptohunter's goat.

3935  Economy / Reputation / Re: This is a Challenge on: November 02, 2019, 02:57:44 PM
According the calculator the OP could reach the activity necessary for Legendary rank sometime between June 2021 and March 2022.  So, it's impossible.  Regardless, he could still challenge himself to "become one of the best member of this forum," which in my opinion is independent of rank.
3936  Economy / Reputation / Re: Wrongful accusation by Timelord. Did Yahoo put him in DT? on: November 01, 2019, 07:54:49 PM
Did I selectively edit anything out?

Only form your reasoning.

It looks to me like you are saying that you value Timelord's ratings because it personally serves you economically regardless of the negative impact his irresponsible shotgun approach has on others.

Valuing his efforts and condoning his behavior aren't the same thing, which I clearly (and politely) expressed.  I don't suspect you have any issues with reading comprehension, so I think you know that.  But that doesn't serve your argument, does it?

The rest of your argument is just more postulating, playing on semantics, and throwing insults, so yeah, whatever.  You've been trying to get my goat for several weeks now, I'm not gonna let you have it.

No one should blindly trust his feedback without double and/or triple checking them

I couldn't agree more with this statement, but realistically the same could (or should) be said for most of the members of this forum.  We're all human, and we're all subject to emotional outbursts.  Some, more than others seem to have taken up the habit of turning their emotional outbursts into negative reviews.

I also agree that the accusation about you and Lauda was just silly and petty.
3937  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 4 month loan on: November 01, 2019, 05:29:33 PM
No big deal and no bank Fraud here

That's exactly what it is.  Borrowing money that doesn't show up on your credit FICO score to pay off debt, then request a mortgage based on the money that can't be traced is bank fraud.  It doesn't matter where you get the money from.  Whether it's a bitcoin loan or a loan from your family, what you're planning is illegal.  That's why when you use money as a down payment on property they want to trace the origin of that money unless it's been in your bank account for a significant period of time.

And to touch on suchmoon's other point; the interest rate you're offering is dramatically more than even the most expensive hard-money loans.  Since you have property you can use as collateral, it seems like you must have better options than what you are suggesting above.

Anyway, if you haven't figure out your issue there are couple of things that could have led to your dilemma, but a little more information will help us help you.

Did you expect an address that starts with 1, 3, or bc1?   Do you remember what software you used to create the mnemonic seed, or was it a hardware wallet?
3940  Other / Meta / Re: Impeachment: Is Greg Maxwell the best choice for being a mod in bitcointalk? on: November 01, 2019, 02:03:39 PM
@aliashraf

I'll admit I'm not technically savvy in the digital sense, I'm relatively new to the forum and to bitcoin, and I'm unaware of the politics behind your request.  All of those things probably make me and those like me your best chance of drumming up support for your quest.  I'v had no interaction with you or Gregory Maxwell, so I can assure you I will approach the debate without any bias.

So please, by all means necessary do go into the details.  Provide your evidence and present your argument.  At this point I tend to agree that you've presented your request without providing any substance.
