Almost every 49er's coach in history has loved to rotate running backs and full backs situationally.  As a result it makes even our best running back a relatively poor choice for FF, in my opinion.  Mostert is likely to get the lion's share of snaps, but I predict we'll see a lot of Trey Sermon also.

Yeah I had him and Coleman a few years ago and trying to figure out which one of them (I think there was Breida too) was gonna get the share week to week was impossible! I ended up only playing one if the other 2 were hurt and that worked out well. Same with NE, I will never draft NE RBs.

I am having a really hard time trying to decide how to draft the Niners running back situation.  I think Mostert will certainly get the lead duties to start, but lets not forget he's had like 1 good season and bounced from team to team for years.  There's a reason the Niners draft Trey Sermon.  I am not sure I want anything to do with that backfield but if I do have to draft someone it'll probably be Sermon.

My thought process is, if you can't decide on how they are going to play them leave it alone.  That's just me chi, I've whiffed everytime I try nailing down the committee lead.  But if I had to guess mostert is your guy.

I hear you, and that is normally exactly what I do.  However I had my first draft last night and what did I do.. I drafted Trey Sermon lol.  I honestly have very little idea about him and since I don't watch a lot of college football much I get put at a disadvantage when it comes to incoming rookies.  I kind of like the pick being that Mostert cant seem to stay healthy. We shall see I suppose!

It might pan out well if mostert does go down with an injury.  The team definately rides their rbs.  Years ago it was much easier there were no rb by committee.  Really takes a lot of research to nail down who is who and how they will be played.

I am glad you all like the Clint Capela news.
I also felt great when I saw it because he truly deserves it. If this goes well, the Hawks will have a good pair of franchise players. Trae and Clint.
It's not easy to find big men who can play like that.
...
The rockets were going down the path of a complete rebuild, that's why they dumped everyone.
It was a pity to witness what happened to them after spending so much on building around Harden. I think they made a huge mistake when they chose him over CP3.
It was just not for them. The Rockets should try what the New York Knicks did if they cannot find a player that fits what they already have.
Build with a young core with long contracts and try to make something out of it. It's a risk but could also be rewarding if done right.

That's what they are doing now.  There is no point being a middle of the road team.  When in doubt cash in all your assets and crush the draft.  Get a good 3-4 young players, then bring in a top tier or 2 free agent and you got yourself a squad.  The problem most teams have is they over evaluate their own team.  One thing is true though, you have to get the draft right and hit on a coue of these college kids.
3923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 02, 2021, 02:29:47 PM

Back in Rockets, he also plays a big role why Rockets always end up in a good position every season but the team just lacks at the playoffs run.

With Hawks, I think that was the first time Capela first experience playing in the Conference Finals. Now with a much competitive Eastern Conference, the battle will be more tough and difficult as some teams are working on their lineup improvement.

I want to see them at ECF again but not expecting.

One of the players I'm looking to see play in the NBA next season if he stayed in the Houston Rockets, they would have become a major contender in the NBA finals but whichever team he goes, he still gives his team the best he can do to make it to the playoffs. The Atlanta Hawks have some great players playing with him that will lead the team to be in the Playoffs again this upcoming season.

The rockets were going down the path of a complete rebuild, that's why they dumped everyone.  They weren't going anywhere and Clint wasn't going to help them go deep into the playoffs.  He actually is a perfect fit on that team.  Think the Hawks are gonna be good for a long time they got a good squad building up over there.

I want to ask this out of curiosity on what you NFL experts think or speculate. Which team would pick up Cam Newton?

My first guess was the Redskins with Ron Rivera because of his success with Newton, however, this rumor was disproved immediately by Rivera. The team to pick Covid Cam might be the Texans?

Honestly I don't know many teams that would pick up cam right now.  He thinks he is a starter so it will be toxic wherever he goes everytime the starting qb throws a pick.  What I see happening is when a starting qb goes out with a long term injury mid year the team picking up cam to battle with the backup.  That's the only case I can see Cam getting another shot

3926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin/ETH replace fiat someday? on: September 01, 2021, 11:31:12 PM
To fight against the control of USD thus create an anchor for people all around the global, or to make transactions apparent in cyber world, Bitcoin was coined by Satoshi(the second one is more valid).
Will the day come when everyone uses Bitcoin in daily payment(supposing new tech is applied to avoid high gas fee) and thus fiat gets abandoned? Or it won't because the amount of Bitcoin is set and all Bitcin is practically manipulated by capitalists...
Obviously , it's nearly impossible for Bitcoin to realize permant and global circulation due to its high price and scarcity, which renders it harder to take the place of fiat but it sounds that ETH is likely to be an anchor and a tool for daily use alike, surpassing BTC is feasible.
They say, if a country is at war or in upheaval, buying Bitcoin is not wise for its high volatility and USD is a better choice.
How do you think Smiley

They will exist side by side.  The main reason it won't flip fiat is because national governets will never want to give up complete control of their financial system.  They will exist in parallel.  Eventually each will have its niche, crypto is perfect for micropayments, fiat still good for day to day transactions.

Sometimes when a coin pumps hard and starts to dump, novice will panic sell due to fear or other reasons, while the whales will buy up the dump and mop it all and then pump it even harder.... So don't always panic sell, be in control of your emotions, although it isn't easy, but with practice you will perfect and master it.......Every new trade is a journey and a new destination...... Always dyor

What do you think about this circumstance ? am i overthinking this ? share your views.

Depends some coins get one pump so you might want to exit once it's starts dropping.  But if you are talking coins like bitcoin, eth, etc then no you should just hold out.  Generally you want to sell when everyone is buying not when everyone else is selling.  This is how you make money.
3928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 01, 2021, 11:21:39 PM

Possibly could get it a little better but his shooting mechanics are terrible.  Dude is a good player on a good team that's the extent.  His vision rebounding and other basketball skills are definately plus.  If the kid could shoot he'd be a top 10 talent in the league.  Got the height to crush other guards.  Hope he figures it out

The free throw is the only problem, in terms of defense, he is very effective and he also has a good vision in the court as he has a good record on the assist. He is still young, I believe he will be able to develop his shooting, not necessarily to shoot 3s but his free throw has to be developed as he is aggressive on the floor and he can go inside the basket.

Anything outside of 7ft is an issue for him.  He can drive and when he is at the rim he is fine.  The fact that not every player can't shoot at least 80% ALL the time is crazy.  I mean this is what they do for a job.  When I was playing all the time free throws become easy.  Find the range and repeat the motion not really that hard.  Not saying there isn't pressure situations but consistently they should be able to hit.
3929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 01, 2021, 07:41:10 PM
I still think that Simmons should be a better shooter by now but I actually like this if it's going to happen. Coach Pop loves team plays more than individual skills/performance that's why it could be a perfect fit for both. I just don't know what Sixers want out of Spurs to agree with the trade. Like what @Reid said, it seems like SA have nothing much to offer.
Yeah, maybe coach Pop can developed Ben even more specially his shooting as we all know that Pop has the ability to motivate players and bring the best of them. But SA has nothing to offer though in the table if they decided to trade, maybe a future draft picks but as far as the current lineup, not sure if Sixers are interested on anyone one of them.

So the saga of Ben still continues, no one is taking the bait so far
If anyone can improve Bens shooter that would be Chip Engelland who is the shooting coach for San Antonio Spurs for the past 16 years or so, he is the one who fixed Tony Parkers shooting most famously back in the day and even helped Kawhi to gain some shooting as well. So, I think if anyone could help Ben become a decent shooter it would be him, however I do not feel like Ben would be ready to give it a go psychologically, dude has been a horrible shooter all his life forever and people mock him for it, people even leave him wide open on the three point line and because of that dude lacks the scoring numbers that he could had if he was guarded a bit closer.

Spurs also do not have too many shooters in the team right now, they are getting better over course of years because they are young and learning, but another non-shooter on the team doesn't feel like what they need.

Hope he figures it out
3930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley on: August 31, 2021, 07:10:43 PM
Jake Paul is now claiming that he is retired from boxing. I'm not sure I take him seriously but if he is telling the truth then I hope this is the last we will see of these freak show fights. He has made more than enough money to retire comfortably and now he can focus on more serious business endeavors.
I really hope this is true and that this is the end of these kind of fights because quite honestly I do not really see how those fights help boxing at all, I still watched the fight so you may say that I'm part of the problem, and maybe you are right, but these kind of gimmicky fights is not what the fans want to see, we want to see unification fights, we want to see champions to stop dancing around and avoid the best challenger that they can face, something that is very common in this day and age.

Agreed.  These fights are rediculous.  The fight itself is terrible if you are an actual boxing fan.  It's like watching an amateur fight.  It's alright if nothing else is on but to actually promote these as prime time boxing events is embarrasing.
3931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 31, 2021, 05:59:27 PM
Now the question is "Will Portland sacrifice their franchise player to a player who don't know how to shoot. Will they trade a player that is very good at shooting to a player that can't shoot at all."

If the 76ers-Blazers trade will involve Lillard and Simmons, for sure the Blazers will lose this trade. If they will trade Lillard on the 76ers, for sure the Blazers will demand for more or they might demand to get Embiid but getting Simmons only and some average players out there I don't think that it will happen.

Until now, Simmons and Lillard's team are still unknown for now because of many rumors but lets see how these rumors will end a few months from now.
This trade makes no sense for the blazers.  Who is going to score, cj?  Simmons works on a team that already has a couple scorers.  Only way this gets done is if Portland wants to scrap and rebuild in which case they'd probably want some #1s with the ability for them to be in the lottery which the sixers won't be.
I think it is not about Portland not wanting to give up Dame but more about Dame wanting out. He declined the rumors so I assumed it was over but if this trade happens that means the rumors were true, people were saying he didn't want to be part of the team anymore, he is an amazing player and probably a generational talent level when it comes to shooting if it wasn't for Curry at the same time.

It means he is sick and tired of having horrible teams surrounding him most of the time and getting beaten by other teams during playoffs, mainly first round for the longest time. This is why he was said to be looking for a trade to a team he feels like he could win something and Sixers without Simmons but adding Dame could be decent, still not amazing but could be decent and I can see them go to finals if they are lucky enough and Dame could make that happen.

That's fine but they ain't letting him go for Simmons.  They will want significant draft capital.  Dame can get you a coue of front end #1s to the right team.  Just because a star wants out (if that is the case) doesn't mean they are going to trade him for whatever.  Simmons on the Portland team as currently constructed is terrible, no gm would do that.
3932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: August 31, 2021, 05:57:21 PM
Have you guys had your draft yet?  I have my drafts coming up this week on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.  Just curious if you guys have had it, how it went and kinda curious to see what you guy's teams look like.  Also I'd like to ask what guys you all like sleeper wise, dudes who are over-ranked and those who have a lot of value as to where they are being drafted.  Obviously may not be a good idea to discuss this until your draft is over  Cheesy

Not yet we are going this Friday.  And as far as having cam cut nothing worse than having a rookie starting qb and having someone like a disgruntled ex star to fiddle with the locker room.  I don't mind the cut.  They weren't going to get anything for cam anyway, they know the Pats were on the ledge with him.  Cam might have seen his day, playing for bottom teams or backing up a starter on a contending team.  Not much room in the NFL for error.
3933  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] Topps Allen & Ginter Reference Thread on: August 31, 2021, 02:32:34 PM
I think after next year they lose the license to list the team logo on the cards.  Then completely lose the license shortly after.  The fact that baseball sold topps out is terrible.  Topps and baseball cards just go together.  Not a fanatics fan so will probably slow down on the bb cards going forward.  Undecided

I agree... But... Doesn't this theoretically make Topps cards more valuable moving forward? I hope so at least. 🤷‍♂️🚀  Huh

I mean when panini took over basketball and football it didn't make upperdeck or topps or whatever more valuable.  This is a little different being topps and baseball but it won't move the needle all that much. Just disappointing baseball needs topps they go hand in hand

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/32119363/sources-new-england-patriots-cut-cam-newton-mac-jones-start

Cam gets cut.  Bill going all in on Mac Jones.  He is the type of qb that Bill likes, cam didn't really fit the scheme but still aittle surprised.  No way they trade for a qb now they are all in one.  If they gave up draft capital for a backup after dropping cam that would be the dumbest thing they could do.  Should be an interesting year with a bunch of the rookie qbs probably going to start.  Could get 4 starting rookie qbs this year.
3935  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will $50,000 be the resistant price? on: August 31, 2021, 02:16:57 PM
When bitcoin price was rising, I was thinking it will not rise above $50,000, $50,000 is like the resistant price for now, the price falled back the way I was expecting it to be, but the price of bitcoin has been increasing and decreasing within $47000 and $50000, this makes me to be confused of where the price is going to.

What can you suggest what will be the next bitcoin price, is it going above $50,000 or will draw back. I am having the mind that some people buy bitcoin already, but they have set the take profit at $50,000, this can result to the price of bitcoin not to go more than $50,000. Give me your reasons of your prediction with convincing factors.

$50,000 might be a psychological barrier but just like when it jumped to 60k if there is enough rally behind it 50k won't last all that long.  I don't think we will see a run up in the short term as the world sits and waits out the pandemic, unease still exists which I think is the major point of resistance right now.

Walt Disney Co.’s ESPN is seeking to license its brand to major sports-betting companies for at least $3 billion over several years, according to people familiar with the matter, aiming to capitalize on the fast-growing online gambling industry.

The sports-media giant has held talks with players that own major sportsbooks, including casino operator Caesars Entertainment Inc. and online gambling company DraftKings Inc., the people said. ESPN has existing marketing partnerships with both companies.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wsj.com/amp/articles/espn-explores-sports-betting-deal-worth-at-least-3-billion-11630089962

A very positive news perse since ESPN, is now trying to explore more of their options in the betting section now how do you think this might affect the industry??

They are trying to enter the online gambling industry and I do believe that they might try and dominate the market which is already heavily competitive but it might give the users more choice perse.

What do you think Huh
I do believe they might get involved with the crypto casinos too soon enough!!
Something to watch out for.

A very wierd turn for a Disney company but better jump in while everyone else is.  If espn jumps into the game they will take the lions share.  Their reach and advertising is so widespread in the sports world.  Definately bad news for the other gambling only companies.

Most people would like to discuss Dogecoin because it has a high possibility to hit $1 soon. But will cardano has a chance to hit $3?

At this point it looks to just be a "when" will cardano hit $3.  There is a lot of support for cardano and its been sitting in the mid to high $2s for awhile.  Even if we see a bear market soon when we get our next bull cardano will be well positioned to run up.  They are doing so.e pretty cool things over there with ADA.
3938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley on: August 31, 2021, 01:13:04 PM
hard to predict these fights when proper form isn't there really.

Hard also to predict these fights if there is no proper basis and we can look at them before betting.

These fights are easy to predict. Just bet on the fighter who has got more friends/followers/subscribers in social media. Because if he loses, nothing gonna change at all, but if he wins, there will be a next fight with higher stakes. This is just unprofitable for everyone if these clown lose.

I guess but when you get 2 boxers who really aren't boxers who knows what's gonna happen.  It's nothing more than a 50/50 shot in my eyes.  Ypu can't arguably defend betting against one vs the other.

J.K. Dobbins is likely out for the season:

J.K. Dobbins currently is undergoing his MRI, but the expectation going in was that he had suffered a season-ending knee injury, per sources.

I had this dude in 90% of my mock drafts, you hate to see when a promising young RB goes down with a serious knee injury, especially in a preseason game. Ravens now have the record for most consecutive preseason wins in a row at 20, but at what cost? Lips sealed

Jags ml + 49ers ml is my ticket for today, looking to finish strong. hehe   btw, Joe Burrow is expected to play a few series for the Bengals, probably worth checking...

Yeah shame.  Kid looked real good at the end of last year he was pretty high on everyone's board.  Hope he comes back next year strong hate seeing these season ending injuries.  People were getting on Harbaugh but every coach played their starters in game 3 pretty much.  It's the name of the game, inevitable someone goes down
3940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 31, 2021, 01:05:51 PM
As reported by The Athletic, for many insiders it's no longer a question of if Simmons will be traded but rather when. According to the same source, the Sixers have their eyes on Lillard. A dream that until some time ago could be considered impossible but that could become more defined and credible in the next months. Let's keep an eye on the Philadelphia-Portland route.

It's not a secret already that we will see Ben Simmons on a different jersey next season. It's been always the rumor even before the start of the recent season. He is no longer capable of being a pure Sixers player because of various reasons.

The Sixers will do a good job if they will trade Simmons and keep Joel Embiid, their most performing player last season. Then hunt some good point guards that can replace Simmons, not by 100% but a good one to risks.

Lillard already debunked that he will be traded but if my understandings are correct, he just debunked that he will transfer to the Lakers but the signing to another team is possible.

That's a good trade for me if in case things work out between these two teams.

If Dame landed to Philly, he will be more effective playing 1-2 punch with Embiid, that power combo will surely help them up in chasing the title, while with Simmons, he can help CJ as he can work as a two-way player, a good defender and if needed he can also drive and get some good penetrations, Both teams will maximize the value of this two stars.
