Сейчас в многочисленных телеграм-чатах народ массово пишет, что ломанулся продавать альткоины и скупать BTC, чтобы получить вожделенные Bitcoin Gold нахаляву, как это было с BCH. Вопрос в том, как поведет себя BTC после форка и каков вообще будет итог? Вдруг кому-то очень выгодно загнать народ в биток и потом обрушить если не обрушить его курс, то хотя бы закупить альткоины подешевке из ТОП-списка? Коллеги, что думаете?

Зря Вы так ) Мне, честно говоря, очень близка эта ментальность, когда "по-немецки" все должно быть точно, до копейки и до символа! И я просто мечтаю о том, чтобы во всех баунти-кампаниях было все так же точно и строго по правилам, как и в данном проекте. Словно бальзам на душу, честное слово   Молодцы ребята! To answer the post about costs, PHS requires about $40 a month upkeep for the basics:  seednodes, webpage, and maintenance/donation to richlist/explorer/, so low overhead. I intend to get the hosting/webpage and richlist updating again as soon as I talk to those guys (was planning new release for late September/ early OCT).

The new optimized /energy efficient version is in beta testing now, and has been for month+, if you want to try it out just PM me, bugs are indeed possible so if you have the technical level to backup and restore wallet if need be, you can enjoy all the new features (including massive reduction in CPU usage/resources).

I know PHS is quiet/sleeper,... but it's always been this way for anyone around since the beginning. Much of that has to do with everything running smoothly... Since the Switch to PoS only everything seems to be running smooth. Compare to scam coins with 1000s of posts,. PHS just isn't about that. There isn't manufactured daily drama just to keep it in 'the news', or other children's games, it is what it is. TBH I'm not really good at marketing, and the position has always been open  

Connectivity : for the other post above about nodes,... I grab about 50 over an hour or so very easily, make sure you have UPNP on your router or open port 16281 to accept incoming connections.

Good stuff , working on adding more seednodes, or DNS seeding, and maybe get a new IRC that doesn't ban 'bitcoin clients'. 

Increasing TXs will help long term for sure (and would be interesting if done in large amounts, since PHS can handle so many with block speed), and the nice steady daily stake income, well that helps too  

A 3rd party site using PHS for gaming or in other areas would do quite well, too, for the site and PHS.


On the other hand lots of TXs would mean bloat to the chain, and focus could remain on the stake. I look forward to the day when PoS is more mainstream.

I would like to introduce myself and hopefully become a contributing member of the Philosopher Stone community. 

I'm starting to perform some research on several Forums and will be compiling a list of Promoter's who can help to promote this coin (stone) when the time is appropriate.

I'm a Certified Test Engineer and work for one of the largest Industrial Companies in the world, so I understand the development process and how long it takes to get bugs fixed and to deploy the code for further testing.

Developed from scratch! Not a single codeblock stolen or cloned from any other cryptos or somewhere else. It will be developed using C++11 and MinGW (cross-platform compiler).
eXocoin will be spread partly among investors. But even if you are not willing to participate in investing BTCs or LTCs at early stage - you can get your way into our coin, as well.



A) Early-bird investor: Choose to become part of the next generation eXocoin! You can invest your BTC/ LTC until 15th February 2014. After then no early-bird investments can be done. open now!
B) 2nd-stage investor: You are afraid of being scammed? I know. I got the same feeling and didn't invest in NXT or similar coins. Anyway - eXocoin will be more fair and transparent than NXT in several ways. So you can choose to invest after the end of early-bird investments (release of whitepaper) up to the start of beta testing (to be announced - see timeline below).
C) 3rd-stage investor: You are still afraid of being scammed? No shame. I truly can understand that! You can decide to invest after beta testing has started up to one week before launch. You can see that everything is functional and ready for launch. Surley you will be convinced to make an investment at that stage
D) Mining: There will be room for mining as well! This is a PoW + PoS combined crypto coin. Mining will start some days after investors will get there coins just to get a smooth and step-by-step launch.
E) E-Mail registration on our website. You can register for free. Just choose a nickname and enter your bitcointalk username. Only serious bitcointalk profiles are considered (you will get an email with a confirmation if accepted): Your account must exist before 23th of January 2014. If you are serious but only have a newer account then PM me.
We will not use your mail address for anything else  than activation and distribution of the eXocoins.
F) Trading: no exchanges so far. Of course you can exchange p2p on bitcointalk or elsewhere right after the launch.

9% super block for paying you interest rates once a month (think of bank accounts) until this block will be empty. After then you get an interest through transaction fees (but considerably lower than before). The money you will get is set to be proportional to the uptime of your node and account balance (just let the binaries running, no cpu or gpu usage, can be used with an older laptop) ->PoS.

There will be a total of 100,000,000 EXO after mining is done. Mining will be completed within six month. So at launch there will be 55,000,000 EXO and six month later 100,000,000 EXO. No more can ever be made by anyone. No inflation can happen. Due to the fast end of mining it is expected to get a higher price per unit at the end of 2014. Also, no ASICs will be build for this coin.
Of course you can consider to go more than one way. However all your investments may not exceed in total 1.5 BTC or 50 LTC.


 
You can donate only values between 0.005 and 1.5 BTC (0.2 to 50 LTC). We do not want any larger stakeholders as its the case in the NXT community right now! We want to spread and split EXO as much as possible among the community! With the upper cap we want to encourage smaller investments!
If - by any reason - this project is about to die: You will get a 100% refund of your investment.
We really hope to get the eXocoin alive as a long term coin. We do not want to create a pump&dump clone like those that are everywhere right now. A widley spread initial handover (achieved by the 1.5 BTC / 50 LTC cap) prevents from someone (and from us) dumping large amounts of EXO once it hits an exchange!
The source code will be release after the launch. I am sorry, that we will not provide the code on launch, since copying and cloning it would be very easy. And nowadays cloning seems to be very modern...
Anyway the code will be released! You will have to wait maximal one month after the launch for it to get published (partially or with bug injection - not compilable at that moment). Then there will be bounties if you detect and report security flaws or if you can make real improvements that are chosen to be part of the next version(s). Once We are convinced, that there are no security issues within our sourcecode we will make  100% of the source public! So from that day on you can compile it yourself and can be very sure its not a scam, virus, trap door etc  and it will be fully functional!
Mining will start really smooth and fair. There will be empty blocks at the beginning so that there is no need for a hustle on launch time. Just take a cup of coffee first and then start your rigs ;-) [empty blocks will be there for about 1 hour].

- This is what most of you are worried about: On of us just could take your BTC investments and have fun with it (scamming). Well first of all the 1.5 BTC / 50 LTC cap prevents that someone invests too much money initially. If you are really concerned about this aspect, then please do not get an early-bird investor. Just wait to get a 2nd/ 3rd-stage investor if  you are more sure about the concept of eXocoin (after whitepaper release, betatesting etc) or wait for the mining/trading part. It is up to you! We do not push anybody here.
- Someone could steal all investments: This is not likely to happen (highly secured offline wallet and backup)
- The project will not launch. This is not a risk at all for you since we will refund 100% of your investments in this case! We do not want to make quick profit with a coin (otherwise we would create a pump&dump coin in one day or quicker). We want to change the crypto-scene. We want to be the next gen crypto (I would see this as 2nd gen).

NXT has already launched and has much talking about. No doubt. eXocoin is not a descend or clone or anything related to NXT. Its coded from scratch. There will be features that NXT do not have. And it will be fully open source one day. You cannot be 100% sure that NXT do not have a hidden trap in there current binaries or something.
We don't want to blame NXT. It has great innovation! What we are concerned of is that about 75 people are holding the vast majority of the whole crypto. That is what we want to change with eXocoin. The wider it spreads the better! Preventing pump&dump from a single individuum to crash the exchange rates to 0.
NXT does not have a mechanism to prevent typos in transactions or to detect swapping bits in transactions. eXocoin developer will invest a high amount of time to make transactions safe! Typos will be detected as well as swapping bits within network or computer layer. You do not have to remember an address of someone. You can register, buy and sell aliases for them decentrally!

If it comes to decissions that will affect the whole community (new features), than you will have the opportunity to vote decentrally within the client for or against an idea and see transparantly the results of the vote.

As stated - nobody can guarantee this will be a success, however, we truely believe that eXocoin has great potential and it will provide essential and new features. It is developed by several good software architects and programmers with university degrees in IT that are very familiar with C++11. C++11 will ensure high client speeds. It also will run on any windows vista or newer computer without any additional software (like java would need). It will not need .NET installed.
We will refund all investments back if this project will not launch. The investment will go to a BTC (LTC) address on a highly secured computer - running a light linux distro, freshly installed, nothing else on it, just the encrypted wallet! And a backup on three encrypted sticks in a safe.
There is no premine for the mining part! We as the developers will only have your investments as a payment for our work. We will invest with our own bitcoins like anyone else can do as early-bird investors at max 1.5 BTC / 50 LTC!
