Sent Pm + email, no reply...

Give it a bit of time. Tim is working through the initial orders. He will probably reply soon.
42  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Reopening Orders Titan Mint Gold Coins 2014 and 2016 on: January 14, 2020, 03:40:01 PM

Any coins that are not sold by January 19th will be melted down to extract their gold melt value further increasing the rarity of any sold coins.

You got be kidding me my man  Grin I won't be around you with my titan coin any time soon.

Looks like about 40% of these are sold so far. It was 100% but a huge order did not commit. I will keep sales open until the 19th so hopefully not too many will be melted.

I don’t particularly want to melt them They are beautiful and rare coins and I would much prefer they recirculate back into the hands of someone who appreciates them but gold is gold so one way or another.
43  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Reopening Orders Titan Mint Gold Coins 2014 and 2016 on: January 13, 2020, 01:51:05 AM
Hey are all the coins sold? Sent an email but got no reply

I am pretty sure there are some left.

I know we had potential orders for all of the coins but then someone who expressed an intent to buy a large number of these did not follow through.

It’s the weekend so I suspect Tim will go through e-mails and messages on Monday.
44  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Reopening Orders Titan Mint Gold Coins 2014 and 2016 on: January 09, 2020, 06:05:37 PM
Can we see some pics of the back of what the peeled titan gold coin looks like? What did you use to peel it? Was it anything that would have scraped the surface of the coin? Are there still remnants of the holo on the back?

I carefully pealed these with my fingertip. There was no damage to the coin from the pealing process.
When these coins are pealed they leave a small amount of residue adhesive. This was removed by allowing the coins to soak in an acetone wash. This removed the residual adhesive.

I have mailed these all to Tim so I can't get you a picture of the back but he should be able to send you a quick picture. Just send him a PM or e-mail with what you need.
45  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Reopening Orders Titan Mint Gold Coins 2014 and 2016 on: January 09, 2020, 06:03:16 AM
I have now shipped these to Tim who confirmed receipt and we are ready to process orders.

I understand an individual who placed a large order for these has not followed through so I am able to reopen sales of these.

Price remains the same spot gold at the time of payment + shipping + $100. These are some of the rarest collectibles in the bitcoin space and I very much doubt these will ever again be available at this price so if you want one please inform Tim Fillmore the president of Titan Mint here:

But this thread is about the evolution religion. Since there is no proof for evolution...

Evolution is a hoax, and it has become a religion for many.

Cool

A hoax?
No that is not the right word.

Evolution as it is commonly popularized is not a hoax it is a modern creation myth.
There is some science there but the science is overwhelmed by the myth.

At the prices these command it's no so "trivial" to some people, that's a lot of money at stake.  Undecided

These are highly collected coins as evidenced by your selling out of even the peeled coins so fast.

I do understand that and am sure Tim does too. We agreed that perhaps the idea was not as well thought out as it should have been hence the change in response to the feedback.

I'm very relaxed..... I promise Wink
I'm just very passionate
...
It simply shows how out of touch you really are from the collectibles community.

p.s.  Of course all your coins sold.... $100.00 over spot was a great deal.  You may be out of touch, but at least you are not greedy.  Grin

I certainly don't spend much time in this corner of the bitcoin community so perhaps I am somewhat out of touch with the ebb and flow here.
Nevertheless I am glad you are relaxed. Most ideas even those not thought out as much as they should have been are not worth getting too worked up over.

p.s.  not one person has chimed in thinking this would be a good practice.

Which is why it’s not going to happen. The consensus was opposed so these coins will be sold as is. I have edited the sale post to reflect this.

Apparently there was more demand then I expected as it sounds like there are already more orders then I have coins so unless some of these early orders don’t follow through my coins are sold.

Try to relax life’s too short to get so worked up over something so trivial.

Yes, agree that they turned out very nice. That’s why I bought and hold a few.

So the 25 you have were funded and came with a COA then?

Yes

To be more specific:
The 2014 coins are #70-94
The 2016 coins are #20-44

2) Restored coins. Tim the president of Titan Mint is willing to restore these coins and reload them with a new hologram and load a bitcoin onto them. Price for the restored coins will be $100 over spot gold + the BTC price currently $8173 per coin plus shipping.

Hi,

This is a post from today (December 17, 2019) and BTC is nowhere near $8173, where is this amount coming from?

Thanks!

That total was the spot price of gold + the bitcoin price +$100 at the time. Earlier today the bitcoin price plus the gold spot price per oz + $100 was $8173. Tim is doing escrow and will get you an actual purchase price if you want one. The $8173 was just an example using the gold and bitcoin prices at the time I wrote the post.

‘This particular group of coins were sold direct and not made available to the public, so its even more interesting as it contains production numbers that were unavailable previously.’

I hold some 2016 Titan Mint gold coins (Lady Justice Version). The COA states that there they are limited to 100. Are the 25 sold here numbered as part of the 100 and were they loaded and then redeemed? Asking as the thread states that the holo has been removed but not that they were loaded then redeemed. Just want to clarify that you purchased and weren’t a reseller for Titan....

Also I f they were numbered, then I presume Tim has the numbers and if sold loaded will issue the exact same numbers and not start at 101?

These Lady Justice coins are actually from the first 50 minted. I flew down to California in late September of 2016 to pick them up in person right after they were struck.

I played a small role in encouraging Titan Mint to get these out when it did. I had seen the concept art and knew it would look great. I kept pestering Tim about it and paid upfront for 25 of them to encourage him to quickly bring his design to fruition.

2) Restored coins. Tim the president of Titan Mint is willing to restore these coins and reload them with a new hologram and load a bitcoin onto them. Price for the restored coins will be $100 over spot gold + the BTC price currently $8173 per coin plus shipping. These restored coins will be loaded only with bitcoin and will not have any of the multiple fork coins BSV, BCH, ect that have branched off over the years.

I don't think coin makers should do this.

The coins will be clearly loaded with bitcoin in 2020 not 2014. That may effect resale value compared to ones that have not been reloaded. They are beautiful coins. I think its better they get recirculated back into the community rather then melted down.

I anticipate most of these will get melted down due to a lack of demand in a general bear market for BTC which is ok as I just need to extract the gold value. However, I wanted to give the community a chance at them first if there is interest.

My profit is basically the same if these sell through escrow or just get melted them down for spot gold. However, I think its worthwhile to preserve a rare historic bitcoin collectable for the future however as there are very few of these coins out there and I would rather they find their way into the hands of collectors instead of being melted.

53  Economy / Collectibles / Last Call: Titan Mint Gold Coins 2014 and 2016 on: December 17, 2019, 10:16:54 PM
Hello I am the proud owner of twenty five 2014 Titan Mint gold coins (Warrior Version)

and twenty five 2016 Titan Mint gold coins (Lady Justice Version). Each coin is 1 troy ounce 99.9% pure gold. The coins are not currently loaded with bitcoin and the hologram on the back of the coins has been removed.

Tim the owner of Titan Mint and the creator of these coins has been kind enough to offer escrow services for this resale. He will confirm the coins authenticity and handle both the receipt of funds from those interested in purchasing them as well as mailing of the coins to the buyers. I am funding his escrow costs.

These gold coins can be purchased in two ways.

1) Gold coins only without bitcoin. These are for sale for $100 over spot gold price currently $1575 per coin plus shipping. These coins will not have a hologram on the back and they will not be loaded with bitcoin.

Very few of these coins in gold were created. I am selling them now because I need to raise a fair amount of money for a business venture and this is the asset I own that is the most logical to liquidate. Any coins that are not sold by January 19th will be melted down to extract their gold melt value further increasing the rarity of any sold coins.

If you are interested in purchasing please inform Tim Fillmore the president of Titan Mint here:

tim@titanbtc.com.

Alternatively you can send him a PM his user name is TitanBTC
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=112605

Edit: The reload option was unpopular and is no longer being offered.

Edit #2: New orders are still being processed. Price remains spot gold at the time of payment + 100$ + shipping.

54  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hitler's War Crimes vs. Those of Churchill & the Americans on: December 15, 2019, 02:56:17 AM
Evils don't have any justification anywhere.

Ezekiel 16:52:
Bear your disgrace, for you have furnished some justification for your sisters. Because your sins were more vile than theirs, they appear more righteous than you. So then, be ashamed and bear your disgrace, for you have made your sisters appear righteous.

Jeremiah 3:11:
The LORD said to me, "Faithless Israel is more righteous than unfaithful Judah."

What the Jews built with banking makes Hitler and the Nazi's appear more righteous than America and the UK. But if a person doesn't look, he won't see it.

Cool

And a deeper look will reveal that the illusion of righteousness to be false but perhaps we will just have to disagree on that.

The Fiat system and it’s failings were set into motion centuries before Hitler when humanity decided to legalize fractional reserve banking allowing multiple simultaneous claims on the same gold. That led to instability and the attempted centralized solution of central banking in the Great Depression and finally when that failed the transition to full fiat which is now starting to fail.

As a group the Jews have a very high IQ and individual Jews certainly profited tremendously from the process over the centuries but if there were no Jews in banking the same process would have occurred with some other nation or group picking up the slack. Our financial system is a power vacuum made possible by human stupidity, greed, and lack of wisdom.

Power vacuums will always be filled. The fiat system cannot be corrected it can only fail. Perhaps we will learn something from the collapse but knowing humanity even if we do we will eventually deploy and build something even worse. It’s what we are and what we do.

55  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hitler's War Crimes vs. Those of Churchill & the Americans on: December 14, 2019, 10:31:18 PM
Nobody is saying that the German Nazis of WW2 were the good guys. All that is being said is that American leaders along with Churchill were only "good" because they were forced to be good by the ethics of the people who kept them in power. Had the German government been of a different form, Hitler would not have been able to do the bad he did. Had the American and UK governments been different, they would have attacked Germany long before they did.

WW2 was simply an extension of European wars that had been going on for hundreds of years one way or another. The fact America and the UK did not appear as aggressive as other European nations was due to the people of America and the UK forcing their governments to be peaceful (more or less). But behind the scenes, the Americans and Brits were just as bad as Hitler's people. They simply covered it up better.

The results are that Hitler and the Nazi's died, but the whole world staggers under the banking system that America and the UK allowed to be set in place. Far more are being killed off by the necessity for keeping the banking system in place, than could have been killed off by the WW2 Nazi's if they had won.

Cool

There are no human good guys or good nations but there are certainly better and worse. Your first paragraph is true but the second two have issues.

WW2 was more then just an extension of prior European wars. The Nazi ideology was one of eugenic world domination with a ruthlessness made possible by the decline of Christian ethics amoung the population. As Christianity wanes the population becomes vulnerable to parasitic ideologies Communism and Nazism are dark reflections of each other tolotarian collectivist regimes centered around falsehoods made possible by waning Christian virtue.

If the Nazis had crushed Russia it would have probably led to either a eventual global toltarian world government with everyone under Nazi rule and the non Aryans marked for gradual liquidation or more likely a vast global nuclear disaster triggered by the USA or Japan in their attempts to stop them. Nazism would not have spontaneously collapsed like Communism did and their victory in WW2 would simply set the stage for an inevitable WW3. For all it’s faults at least Communism is an inclusive ideology. Their end goal is to transform their enemies into good communists not exterminate them. It is an error to look at modern evils like our financial system as justifying the Nazi evils. What the Nazis would have built had they won would be far worse.
56  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hitler's War Crimes vs. Those of Churchill & the Americans on: December 14, 2019, 09:08:31 PM

The question isn't that war is brutal, and some warriors are more brutal than others. The question is what really happened. Winners write the history they want, no matter what the truth is.

I wasn't there. I'd guess you weren't, either. Which historians are writing the truth?

Cool

The historical revisions that don’t come out until all of the eye witnesses are mostly dead are the ones to question. There is no reason to doubt the Nazi war crimes. Those crimes were indeed logical necessities if you embrace the Nazi ideology. Everyone in WWII was brutal but there was a distinct difference in their brutality.

From Wikipedia:

Historian Niall Ferguson, in addition to figures from Keith Lowe, tabulated the total death rate for POWs in World War II as follows:

Percentage of POWs that Died

Soviet POWs held by Germans                  57.5%
German POWs held by Yugoslavs                  41.2%
German POWs held by Soviets                  35.8%
American POWs held by Japanese          33.0%
American POWs held by Germans            1.19%
German POWs held by Eastern Europeans   32.9%
British POWs held by Japanese                  24.8%
German POWs held by Czechoslovaks            5.0%
British POWs held by Germans                    3.5%
German POWs held by French                    2.58%
German POWs held by Americans            0.15%
German POWs held by British                    0.03%

The record is clear the Germans were selectively civilized based on your race. You were treated pretty well if you were British and totally screwed if you ever came under their power as a “inferior”. The Russians and the Japanese were brutal too but to a lessor degree.

The Nazi’s viewed the Russians as manipulated and controlled by the Jews whom they viewed as the true mastermind and menace. What would a civilization that had no qualms about starving to death almost 60% of their Slavic prisoners of war a population they viewed as inferior dupes feel about the treatment of the race they viewed as the greater menace and the “ mastermind” of communism.  The answer of course is mass extermination which is exactly what happened. There are many many eyewitness accounts of the Nazi crimes but beyond that the Nazi crimes were nothing more then the logical extension of the Nazi ideology.

The Germans were right to fear communism and they were also right that the Jews in Russia played a major role in establishing Communism in that country and overthrowing the monarchy. However, in their fear of that evil and in their anger and desire to correct past injustices they allowed themselves to become a darker evil. To obtain the strength to battle monsters they turned themselves into demons.

Here is what Churchill said of the Nazi’s in 1934 many years before the war would begin
Quote from: Churchill
After all, my friends, only a few hours away by air there dwell a nation of nearly seventy millions of the most educated, industrious, scientific, disciplined people in the world, who are being taught from childhood to think of war as a glorious exercise and death in battle as the noblest fate for man.

There is a nation which has abandoned all its liberties in order to augment its collective strength. There is a nation which, with all its strength and virtue, is in the grip of a group of ruthless men, preaching a gospel of intolerance and racial pride, unrestrained by law, by parliament, or by public opinion. In that country all pacifist speeches, all morbid war books are forbidden or suppressed, and their authors rigorously imprisoned. From their new table of commandments they have omitted “thou shall not kill.”

It is but twenty years since these neighbors of ours fought almost the whole world, and almost defeated them. Now they are rearming with the utmost speed, and ready to their hands is the new lamentable weapon of the air, against which our navy is -no defense, and before which women and children, the weak and frail, the pacifist and the jingo, the warrior and the civilian, the front line trenches and the cottage home, all lie in equal and impartial peril.

Nay, worse still, for with the new weapon has come a new method, or rather has come back the most British method of ancient barbarism, namely, the possibility of compelling the submission of nations by terrorizing their civil population; and, worst of all, the more civilized the country is, the larger and more splendid its cities, the more intricate the structure of its civil and economic life, the more is it vulnerable and at the mercy of those who may make it their prey.

Now, these are facts, hard, grim, indisputable facts, and in the face of these facts, I ask again, what are we to do?

57  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hitler's War Crimes vs. Those of Churchill & the Americans on: December 13, 2019, 10:39:54 PM
So, read the article. Then come back and let us know what you think reality is.

Hitler's War Crimes vs. Those of Churchill & the Americans

The reality is that the Nazi's were one of the most terrifying ideologies to emerge in the 20th centuries and we are very fortunate they did not emerge victorious in WWII as could easily have occurred had events not played out in just the right way to ensure they were crushed in a few short years. Their ideology much worse then Communism because communism self-implodes after a few decades. Its too far detached from reality. The Nazi evil is much more practical and thus functional and efficient.

There is no reason to doubt the mass extermination efforts against those deemed undesirable to the Nazis. It was not just the Jews who suffered but anyone deemed inferior. The Nazi ideology held that the Aryan race was ethnically superior to all and therefore it was permissible to rule via conquest and certainly desirable to exterminate a lessor races if it was needed to make room for their "betters". Nazism was a rejection of all Christian ethics in favor of a Darwinian worldview of survival of the fittest.

You don't have to limit your analysis to the Jews to understand the issue. Looking at how the Germans treated their Russian prisoners is just as instructive. The Germans captured nearly 4 million soviet prisoners of war during the first year of their 1941 surprise offensive. Very few of those four million Russians would survive.

Nazi Persecution of Soviet Prisoners of War
https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/nazi-persecution-of-soviet-prisoners-of-war
Quote
The brutal treatment of Soviet POWs by the Germans violated every standard of warfare. Existing sources suggest that some 5.7 million Soviet army personnel fell into German hands during World War II. As of January 1945, the German army reported that only about 930,000 Soviet POWs remained in German custody. The German army released about one million Soviet POWs as auxiliaries of the German army and the SS. About half a million Soviet POWs had escaped German custody or had been liberated by the Soviet army as it advanced westward through eastern Europe into Germany. The remaining 3.3 million, or about 57 percent of those taken prisoner, were dead by the end of the war.

This death toll was neither an accident nor an automatic result of the war. It was a deliberate policy of the Nazi state. German treatment of Soviet POWs differed dramatically from German policy towards POWs from Britain and the United States, countries the Nazis regarded as racial equals to the Germans. Of the 231,000 British and American prisoners held by the Germans during the war only about 8,300—3.6 percent—died in German custody.

58  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Health and Religion on: December 10, 2019, 01:34:09 AM

People's personal traits seem to be genetic.  Why some siblings are born selfish (most of them) and some are selfless from the get-go?  They share the same environment so it is fair to assume that their selfishness or lack thereof is genetic.

Its a bit too empirical to be convincing for me Smiley

https://phys.org/news/2010-09-links-maternal-genes-selfish-behavior.html

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/are-people-naturally-inclined-to-cooperate-or-be-selfish/

https://news.nd.edu/news/new-studies-link-gene-to-selfish-behavior-in-kids-find-other-children-natural-givers/

I agree that presenting this as a problem of a few bad genes is oversimplification. The problem is deeper then that. While it is certainly true that there are some genes that make the problem worse and other genes that mitigate it to a small degree the problem persists even among those with more favorable genetics.

For example most people would say that their friends and neighbors are "good people". However, in your personal life how many friends and neighbors would you be willing on trust alone hold onto your savings of say $100,000 for safekeeping? The number of "good people" we find around us drops remarkable quickly when we really really require them to be good in the face of temptation.

The problem goes far beyond a few bad genes that can be targeted and modified. Human nature itself is infused with tremendous evil. We are truly fallen creatures.

We are wolves by nature. Some wolves are restrained by physical cages, others by fear of cages and punishment. The best of us try and to some degree succeed in putting the wolf in us to sleep and restrain ourselves allowing that which is best to emerge. In all cases, however, the wolf is never gone deep down it remains.

Yes, but mark, what is true one day is not false another; "the carnal mind is enmity against God" at all times. The wolf may sleep, but it is a wolf still. The snake with its azure hues, may slumber amid the flowers, and the child may stroke its slimy back, but it is a serpent still; it does not change its nature, though it is dormant. The sea is the house of storms, even when it is glassy as a lake; the thunder is still the mighty rolling thunder, when it is so much aloft that we hear it not. And the heart, when we perceive not its ebullitions, when it belches not forth its lava, and sendeth not forth the hot stones of its corruption, is still the same dread volcano. At all times, at all hours, at every moment.” - REV. C. H. Spurgeon

The only real solution would require a voluntary and complete transformation of each and every human being into something that was pure. It would require a change so profound the only analogy I can think of is transformation of a bunch of individual cancer cells on a Petri dish to into a full and functional intelligent multicellular organism with each cell working for the greater good of the whole.

While this task may be theoretically achievable I think it is fairly obvious that our species lacks what it takes to accomplish it on our own. I will share a couple more quotes that sprang to mind while writing this post.

Romans 7:18
For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing.
Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.

John 3:3-3:6
Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."
"How can someone be born when they are old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother's womb to be born!"
Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
59  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Health and Religion on: December 10, 2019, 12:54:12 AM

The only way to solve this evolutionary 'defect' is to develop artificial reproductive technology where we can control the outcome and produce individuals who would be incapable of being selfish. Eventually, 'messy, selfish biological offsprings' would die-off and you would have only selfless people who were manufactured to order.  Assuming the last 'selfish person' dies without abusing this technology, you'll end up with civilization that might be able to survive what is ahead of us.

That is quite the assumption. Does that sound at all like humanity to you? Perhaps it would be possible for a different intelligent species elsewhere in the universe. Some much wiser race could probably elevate themselves gradually in this way but not us.

I agree that our future is likely to contained such programmed selfless people but they are far more likely to be manufactured to order by and subject to the whims of the conditioners grounded in the self and outside of that control. In short the technology is certain to be abused. When has humanity ever not abused technology?

C.S. Lewis laid out how this will probably go in his book "The Abolition of Man"

I understand the 2nd and 3rd points. High IQ people would likely be more conscientious and questioning of existing conventions which meant they're more likely to plan their families (and hence not have large ones) and be more secular. I don't understand why it would nudge them towards socialism though. Are you telling me the majority of people in Venezuela are above average IQ?

Anyway, don't let your religion kill you these holidays. Be easy on all the parties and on Christmas dinner.

Both the extremes of high and low IQ appear to nudge people towards socialism. Here is the original source for that point of discussion.

Disadvantages of high IQ
Mensa Magazine June 2009 pp 34-5
http://iqpersonalitygenius.blogspot.com/2012/08/disadvantages-of-high-iq.html?m=1
Quote from: Bruce Charlton

Sidis himself demonstrated, in exaggerated form, three traits which I put forward as being aspects of high IQ which are potentially disadvantageous: socialism, atheism and low-fertility.

1. Socialism

Higher IQ is probably associated with socialism via the personality trait called Openness-to-experience, which is modestly but significantly correlated with IQ. (To be more exact, left wing political views and voting patterns are characteristic of the highest and lowest IQ groups – the elite and the underclass - and right wingers tend to be in the mid-range.)

Openness summarizes such attributes as imagination, aesthetic sensitivity, preference for variety and intellectual curiosity – it also (among high IQ people in Western societies) predicts left-wing political views. Sidis was an extreme socialist, who received a prison sentence for participating in a May Day parade which became a riot (in the event, he ‘served his time’ in a sanatorium).

Now, of course, not everyone would agree that socialism is wrong (indeed, Mensa members reading this are quite likely to be socialists).
