42  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 5970 (updated price) on: September 17, 2011, 06:21:48 PM
If you bought it from newegg 1 week ago for 3 weeks ago you can still get a refund Smiley. The way things are going im kinda glad i never dove that far in on the more high end cards

Newegg offers no refunds only replacements on this item.

I sent you a pm but will you do escrow? If you are I'd be willing to buy a few with btc.

How is the best way to post pictures??
Best way would be a pic of the cards with your name written on a piece of paper in front of it.

except the BTC price is so low now that it makes no sense to buy new cards... that is if you are paying for electricity
It still could be worth it for some who pay for electricity. I pay 8.5 cents per kwh using the above machine that would generate $6.92 a day after electricity. So you would slowly regain your investment and if you held onto the coins they could be worth more. I don't think its unrealistic to say the price could swing up to $11 randomly. If that's the case you could sell then and make 17.93 a day for what you saved up. So it still is worth it.

wow thats a great deal... If you buy two would you get 200 off? Just assuming you can I'll build a theoretical machine.

40-cpu
180-mobo
1600-4x5970's
48- extenders
250-psu
10-ram
10-flash
60-case(using one stickied in hardware)

total=2,198

3200megahash / $2,198=1.45 which is as good of a ratio as your going to get for brand new.

Plus its cheaper on electricity:

6 5830 machine = 1200 watts
6 5850 machine = 1080 watts
4 5970 machine = 980 watts

I updated the price to 475 and accepting cash or bitcoins.
50  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 2x6970/2x5870/6870+5770 on: September 14, 2011, 11:34:50 PM
Parting out two rigs. Will update with pictures later today.

MSI 6970        $300
Sapphire 6970 $300
MSI 5870        $275 (less than a week old, Brand New RMA bought from user Xurious)
Sapphire 5870 $250

Two Card Deal:
XFX 6870
Gigabyte 5770 (chopped off batman shroud, one fan blade missing, still gets 220+M/h)
Both for $225. That's about 2.22M/h per 1 USD.

Prices do not include shipping. Please don't reply to this thread telling me they are cheaper somewhere else. Low ball offers will be ignored. Looking for BTC/Mt. Gox only. Payment is required first. Discount if you buy the whole lot. PM me if interested.

pics?
51  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: MOAR New Radeon 5970 cards in stock for $499.99 on: September 14, 2011, 12:09:02 AM
well screw you for telling everyone, i need these to stay in stock Sad
they aren't going any where anytime soon. Some where has always had them in stock for 500 since newegg first got them a few weeks ago. There was a short period where the price went up to 600 at unity but when newegg got more they all went to 500. I'm not quite sure why people are posting this again. This isn't really news since theyve never been off the market and 99% of the time they cost 500.
52  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 5970 on: September 09, 2011, 04:32:29 PM
Its all good. Amazon does that. you type 5970 AMD/ATI and get 6970s or 5850s or some other random nvidia video card.
Yea It's really annoying. I once thought I found 5870's on there for like 200 turns out they were 6870's lol
53  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Miners that pay for electricity should seriously start reconsidering on: September 09, 2011, 04:21:38 PM
Yep, eventually the mining game will be limited to people with free or low flat electricity cost, like newminerr. Basically anyone paying more than 0.5c per KW is going to be looking at mining at a loss in the near future, you just can't compete with people like newminerr that pay $10 flat for unlimited electricity.
If the price stays this low difficulty will drastically lower making it profitable again for quite a few people who do pay electricity.
54  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How many people have bought rigs for free through bitcoins they've earned? on: September 09, 2011, 07:10:47 AM
Bought our rigs for free... wat?  Huh
I meant through bitcoins. If you have mined enough to build another rig with the coins you mined.

The cards have always been elevated just updated the pics to show you cards are off the ground not in the board sorry about the misconception.

oh haha then yea this is a pretty good case Tongue

Whats the dimensions for this thing?
57  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How many people have bought rigs for free through bitcoins they've earned? on: September 09, 2011, 06:52:40 AM
I've lost most of my savings through BTC from buying hardware and I don't think I'll ever get that money back.
That's unfortunate what kind of rigs did you build? and when did you start building these rigs?
58  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: My 4 rig farm case design! on: September 09, 2011, 01:34:30 AM
It will be on my inner metro rack it will be off the ground and what do you mean elevated holder the cards hold in place?
I'm saying there's no elevated holder for the gpu's so you can use x16 to x16 extenders or 1x to 16x. By not doing that your limited to how many cards fit directly into the board not how many pcie slots you have.
59  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Recommended Powersupply for 4x 5770s on: September 08, 2011, 10:24:51 PM
recomending a 600W PSU after stating the graphics cards will eat 600W... not a good idea.

You might've missed the part where i calculated at 150W, these cards don't really pull much more than 100W.  There's quite a bit of room to breathe, and the Corsairs are quite happy working at their maxium stated pull.

It comes down to price really, if you want absolutely safe and highly efficient, go with a 750W gold.
Your only taking into account the video cards there's at least 100 watts coming from the mobo cpu ect. 600 for an entire rig with 4 5770's overclocked is not realistic. Plus power supply's degrade over time especially if you push them past their efficiency point.
60  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Open box powercolor cards on: September 08, 2011, 08:57:02 PM
all out of stock.
hope people don't buy it thinking BTC will go up to $20 again.
The 6850 and the 6870 x2 and the 6770 were steals. If I had space I would have considered.
