Great idea. This black friday thing has trully taken over the world, it has become a worldwide event that started in the USA. We need something similar with Bitcoin where Bitcoin is the main protagonist and you get exclusive Bitcoin discounts, hence giving you a really nice treat and motivation to actually look what Bitcoin is and use it. Once a person uses Bitcoin once then thats a potential lifelong Bitcoin user because he/she learned about it. So we need a Bitcoin day with merchants giving really ridiculous discounts so it becomes world famous and gets on the news. Look at it as an invesment. Merchants put really cheap stuff for Bitcoin, Bitcoin beomes hugely popular, merchants holding Bitcoin see their Bitcoin upvalued a lot.

We need a Bitcoin Shopping Day and ideally around xmas because people is more prone to buy stuff during that time.

OMG. THANKYOU. you get it yes. it is going too happen it is a good idea. (by the way thank you for not spamming or just wtiting something to get your post count up- thats not what threads are for)..... yes you are right on all points. one big difference between singles day and shopping on black friday/cyber monday is that people seem to convert coin to currency to spend it. this is bad for the value of coin and it is useless in getting merchants and media and the public to take notice. WE NEED BTC DAY...... mansler what merchants that accept btc do u think make up the largest part of market share for crypto currency?.....oh and once again thankyou for not spamming

Bitcoin Shopping Day? That's crazy enough to work.

The problem is we already have Bitcoin Black Friday. So BSD would have to replace BBF, otherwise the impact will get diluted. 2 bitcoin shopping events in a year is just one too many. We would need to convince BBF organisers/participants to switch.

I'm curious what would be the merchants' thoughts on the idea.

well put it this way- i have never heard of btc black friday - if its the same day as black friday than it is definitely not what i am talking about - we are hoping for something with the some sort of BUZZ around it. if its before christmas i think it would need to proceed black friday to stand out

I might be interested in doing this. What kind of gas cards would you want to have available?

finally, i want sunoco the most but bp, marathon, speedway, schell, mobil/711, texaco

i put them in order of most desired. let me know i will try to drum up some business

the best selling point would be for people that convert coin into cash could now keep there cash and trade coin for gas!!

new update- if u hold control and  hit the pay tab it does take you to bitpay but that does not explain the no replys and the online sources saying they are down and no word of them anywhere since january
45  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is coinfueled.com still alive?? on: November 25, 2014, 01:42:23 PM
JUST CHECKED STILL DOWN and no reply to emails
46  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is coinfueled.com still alive?? on: November 25, 2014, 01:36:57 PM
coinfueled.com is back and functioning, happy transaction.

who are you? how do you know? do u own the site? what is your involvement with the site? why have they not answered emails if they are operating? why do online sources say they are shut down? and MOST OF ALL (besides why were they shut down) how come you cant buy cards from them?
47  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Please start a BTC for physical gas card business on: November 24, 2014, 06:49:39 AM
This would be very helpful because my biggest expenses are food and gas. Once there is an easy solution to buy these things using BTC then I wouldn't have to worry about having too much fiat!

no worries, just give your oversupply currency to me  Grin

stop spamming

Yep singles day is the biggest holiday event in the world
I have to give props where props are due and Alibaba made the most obviously nice idea ^^
Take that Valentines day haha

this comment is the closest to being germane to the topic but then just ends in spam
What could be the basis for this day? Something astrophysical, something recurring, if possible every year...

this is interesting- tying btc day to a meaning- having a meaning would free btc day up to occur at a time of year other than the holiday season. not sure if that is ggod or bad. the public comparisons with balck friday and cyber monday could really boost public knowledge of btc day

again what merchants have the highest btc sales?- they should be approached
49  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is coinfueled.com still alive?? on: November 24, 2014, 04:06:53 AM
I got a gas card from them a couple of weeks ago. I ordered another one a week ago but the mail seems slow. You have to use internet explorer for their site to work right now.

hmm- that seems weird- they have no presence and they dont answer emails and their site doesnt work (even on explorer- which i just tried) i think, if u actually sent a payment, that your btc is gone

Well like I said, I got a $150 Exxon gas card from them 2 weeks ago. And before that I've ordered about 10 other cards from them. When I click the "Bitcoin order now" button, Internet Explorer gives "This content cannot be displayed in a frame" error but if you click "Open this content in a new window" you are taken to the BitPay payment page. If they were ripping people off I don't think BitPay would continue to process transactions for them.

hmm- just the weirdest thing ever, gasupp- i meen gsupp, its just nothing makes sense- why would they not have a thread.... they never ever answer emails- their site only works on explorer and if u open bitpay in a new tab (which i just tried-it didnt work) also if u google it there is a blog that pops up every where about a family that tries to travel on only btc and that blog discusses coinfueled closing down. we need a btc for fuel website.

I'm not too sure about this. Economics is complicated. What if the rise in BTC sales lower its overall value. Bitcoin is getting harder and harder to mine and for some reason its value keeps dropping. That goes against supply and demand rules which states the the lower the supply then the higher the price. Having a bitcoin day may not do what you expect it to do.

what u just addressed is not even debatable. please delete your post. this was not suppose to be a thread for spamming. to all that have commented please delete your posts

i will contact the marketing departments my self. please do not comment further if it is not related to starting btc day. i believe market share belongs to newegg tiger and overstock...are there any other heavy hitters? comments about time of year?
52  Economy / Economics / Re: WE NEED A DAY!!!!!!!---YOU HAVE TO READ on: November 22, 2014, 07:17:36 AM
its amazing how good an idea this is and this is the retarded shit responses- btc went up 100 dollars from a day that is not even about btc shopping- the reddit thing is on black friday which defeats the purpose- REALLY- this is what u get. and then the other 2 people spam- btc shopping day would be the most impactful thing EVER to happen to btc and this is the bull cocky u get--- PLEASE  god lets get some people on board who realize what this is
53  Economy / Economics / Re: WE NEED A DAY!!!!!!!---YOU HAVE TO READ on: November 22, 2014, 07:13:13 AM
Every day is singles day if you are single :-) and if you have a significant other you shouldnt wait around for made up hollidays to show the appreciation you have for them.

that is  a different thread stop spamming
54  Economy / Economics / WE NEED A DAY!!!!!!!---YOU HAVE TO READ on: November 21, 2014, 10:17:49 PM
some of us who are from the usa may not know but the largest shopping day in the world is not black friday or its little sis cyber monday- its singles day. yes singles day, a  (chino centric) Asian holiday. singles day is not valentines, its kinda the oposite. its where, if you dont have anybody, you buy yourself something. why is this important, well, this last jump in btc (when it got to 460usd) 100% absolutely coincided with singles day November 11th.  after that little pop, others jumped on board buying btc because it looked like it was on the way back up and we got 2- 3 days of great btc numbers. just from one online shopping day. Well what do we see every year on TV? Black friday numbers and "wow look at how much sold in online sales." well WE NEED A DAY!!!!!!!. we need A BITCOIN SHOPPING DAY- let the news report the growth of "bitcoin day" every year. Lets force merchants to take notice. then of course in time ltc and doge and etc. day. people can talk about how there coins day did or whatever. But it all starts with BITCOIN DAY. when bitcoin does well- we all do well. with a shopping day it would also attract merchants. when btc is NOT converted to fiat but is used in its place...WE WIN BIG. so there it is.

Singles day was started by alibaba- i think if we got the three biggest btc acceptors on board and had them work together this would pop. why wouldnt they? a coordinated sale with advertising would be a big boost for them and the manufacturers would come along in a year or two?

"Who's coming with me?"
55  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Please start a BTC for physical gas card business on: November 21, 2014, 05:23:25 AM
Would be nice.
+1.

Solid idea.

it would cut down on the need to convert btc ... keep the cash you would spend on gas and use your btc for gas... it would keep the value of btc high as well.... thanx for the plus 1

hell if somebody went to the store and bought a bunch and just started selling them it would work
56  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Please start a BTC for physical gas card business on: November 21, 2014, 05:19:56 AM
Yes, that's the one thing the Gyft card doesn't offer...we need this added.

ya- email them.. and push them to do it.. they are just lazy and not even trying- i told them a year ago to do it
57  Economy / Marketplace / Please start a BTC for physical gas card business on: November 19, 2014, 11:03:01 PM
Could somebody please start selling physical Gas cards for btc. i dont have the time to get something started, but i am sure it would be a nice little niche for somebody. there was a site but it hasnt been active for almost a year- so its open to whomever
58  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is coinfueled.com still alive?? on: November 14, 2014, 10:04:12 PM
You know..? I kind of gave up on that question sometime back.

Then I found cardflip.com where I could at least get Walmart cards (used also for gas) for a total of 5.3% discount.  That's 3.3 from the card, plus 2% using bitcoin -- code "bitcoin777" -- for checkout.  They'll mail you the standard plastic card, or send you an e-card of the offering -- that you can have the Walmart Customer Service desk load onto your own Walmart gift card.
Sometimes I've them have BP and Shell cards there, too.

i will check it out
