From what I have gathered, the sale of the Cryptsy coins has occurred in agreement and distribution should be in about a month. I personally communicated with the party handling the sale and it sounds like the purchaser of CBX bought a bundle of the low liquidity coins. What this individual intends is yet to be identified but they will now be the largest stake holder in CBX (outside of the escrow for SPK).
My next question will these coins still be made useless with the introduction of the new chain? We have discussed this. There will be no making useless of these coins. They exist on the CBX network and that will never change. There is however a potential of creating a new coin / chain that does not include these coins but nothing is in motion towards this possibility at this time. Indeed. I believe we should wait and see what happens to the CBX soon held by the new buyer, and try to figure out what their intentions are if possible. He may as well be a well-intentioned investor, and that should pose no problem whatsoever to CBX. Someone has info on the new buyer? Yes, our group just completed the transaction with the Cryptsy Court Receiver. We are a group of investors that are interested in the success and longevity of the coins we bought. We have no intention of dumping these coins recklessly. It won't help the community and it would be a very dumb investment move to say the least. We have watched many unsophisticated investors misuse coins and have seen the destruction it causes. To be clear, we made an investment in CBX and expect a return. We have plans to buy and sell small amounts here and there, but we intend to build the coin - not destroy the coin's support. Go ahead and relax  At this point you are probably realizing that this is our first post, but we created this login to address the public as the "Cryptsy Investors". CBX is a real hidden gem, so undervalued given the great devs we have, just some unfortunate impediments holding things back, like the uncertainty over cryptsy and a few kamikaze whales intent on keeping the market depressed even at their own expense. I received pm from TheRealSilk. There is new developers in work and they will open new [ANN]-thread soonish. I hope it's May/June. So NODE is still alive and kicking, put your wallets online and support the network. I opened this thread for discussion about NODE so there is not a total silence until new Ann-thread is opened by new develops. I kept all my NODE's all this time of uncertainty, i guess that might turn out to be very wise decision after all. I hope you kept yours too. Patience is a virtue, as they say  . I can't wait to see a roadmap by new dev's. So, if you have something to say about NODE, go on... Bump lol big big bagholder here!?  Sorry man, but this coin is dead. I've got loads of 'dead' coin bags, and for most of them they're not worth saving, but NODE is different, because it isn't a clone, had a fair distribution, and worked well. All it takes for a reboot is a hand over from Silk to a new motivated project leader, but because NODE has been off the radar for a while, the obvious thing bag holders need to do is bump this thread occasionally so guys unaware of NODE's potential get a chance to weigh up the opportunity. New guys with skills and motivation turn up on this forum everyday, but they wont know about NODE unless someone bothers to float the idea of a reboot. I had a bag of 'dead' Crypti too, and then Max took it upon himself to reboot as LISK, and the rest is as they say, HISTORY! It's actually harder to believe a reboot wont happen than the possibiliity that it might; this is the cryptosphere I would donate if a new dev took over NODE. Great opportunity now that alts are challenging bitcoin dominance. Lisk example proves takeovers can work. |

Rollback will kill Komodo and SuperNET, we all know that, we're not too BIG to fail like Ethereum was. Think carefully @jl777! Bittrex says the wallet is shut down for for the "hard fork", so I don't think there is any more discussion to be had and it's a done deal. Could be hard fork to fix bug, rollback is suicide ... |

I'm using the latest GUI wallet, I clicked 'start server' and looks like things started ok (I updated to latest java), how do I know when I'm in sync, I assume I can't 'start mining' until I'm fully synced, so what am I looking for to confirm that?

I was planning to leave my ico KMD untouched for many years, not even bother downloading the wallet, straight into deep hodl mode, just check i received them on the block explorer, then do nothing for 3-5 years. Looks like that plan wouldn't earn compound interest, so what is sweet spot for moving coins, once a month, once a year ?
Well on the contrary you will still earn. Just remember the 5% rollover cycle does annually so in 2-5 years without touching it would result to interest earned in a compounded manner. Cool, compounding annually for cold storage coins is still awesome! Read the fine print if coins are left in place/not moved after 12 months interest will stop being accrued ...... it's a matter of use or lose it..... which actually really sucks....so much for just holding Cheers Jon  I believe that's the whole point, KMD is made to be used, not held. I was worried about bitcoin scaling too, but recently I saw an andreas antonopolous talk on the lightning network, which changed my thinking a lot. I also think bitcoin will remain the major on/off ramp for all cryptos, mainly because of network effects, so despite all the problems I'm still a bitcoin bull. I looked into alt diversification through a top 20 Coinomat alt coin index fund started by sasha of Waves fame. It was later closed down without any explanation, but might start up again. That was being traded on NXT asset exchange, so might resume on waves. You can make more profit from picking good undefvalued alts, but it takes lots of time. I got some news from staisybit-dev:
They are working again on the withdrawals for the next coins. After successful transferring Energycoins, I adviced them, to give me all coins for the distributing back to you your coins! I am waiting for an answer now.

HEAT will combine PoS + PoP (new) later. PoP stands for 'Proof-of-Presence' and will reward those who host slices of the blockchain. No need for slices yet, so PoP rewards are given to the PoS block producers at this early stage. AFAIK, PoP will only be used as reward mechanism and is not involved with consensus algorithm. So with the latest release we can forge from a GUI wallet, excellent!

By 'mining' do mean forging, or traditional meaning of PoW mining?

If you choose the UI wallet with server, yes. You open the wallet. Log in. Go to app server Press start server (you might have to wait for it to sync) Then press start mining By 'mining' do mean forging, or traditional meaning of PoW mining? |

After 1 month, 5%/12 has accrued. It is earned. It is "there", even though it doesnt exist anywhere. There is no record of this interest directly on the blockchain. However all nodes have a consensus to the satoshi of how much interest you have earned.The wallets take this into account when creating a transaction. So you can spend it.
After 2 months 5%/6 has accrued.

In KMD, you earn 5% per year, just by owning the KMD. Nothing at all has to be done.
This means even cold storage KMD is earning interest.
