By 'mining' do mean forging, or traditional meaning of PoW mining?
HEAT API calls it mining. But it is not PoW, is forging like NXT. Some may even call it staking. Got it, thanks! Wasn't sure if maybe HEAT was combined PoW & PoS, like decred and komodo. So with the latest release we can forge from a GUI wallet, excellent!

HEAT will combine PoS + PoP (new) later. PoP stands for 'Proof-of-Presence' and will reward those who host slices of the blockchain. No need for slices yet, so PoP rewards are given to the PoS block producers at this early stage. AFAIK, PoP will only be used as reward mechanism and is not involved with consensus algorithm. So with the latest release we can forge from a GUI wallet, excellent!
Yessir. Enjoy! Note: You will need JDK SE 8 installed to run the server portion:http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html

Yessir. Enjoy! Thanks for the explanation, I didn't fully get PoP before, all makes sense now!

It reminds a lot of NXT - is HEAT built on top of their codebase?
I would like a README-user.md somewhere - which explains the very basics how to use it.
E.g. When I open the wallet at http://...:9001/dist/#/login I see a prompt for typing in my "SecretPhrase", but no "New account click here" button.
Can I use just ANY SecretPhrase? Trying that now. How many letters max? This looks like my account number: #15806825503205248904 Please send me some HEAT to play with, thanks.
Is it wise to show the SecretPhrase as cleartext in your input field?
Is the "Load BTC" functionality working?
Thanks!

I'm using the latest GUI wallet, I clicked 'start server' and looks like things started ok (I updated to latest java), how do I know when I'm in sync, I assume I can't 'start mining' until I'm fully synced, so what am I looking for to confirm that?

New release fixes forging issues people are having.https://github.com/Heat-Ledger-Ltd/heatledger/releases/tag/v.0.9.3Heatledger 0.9.3
This is an optional update.
But highly recommended for network stability!
* This version allows you to download, scan and validate the blockchain * Updated default wellknown peers in config * Work in progress while preparing for hard fork to be expected in coming days, hard fork will fix network issues and enable HEAT / ASSET market pair creation. In a few days we'll be doing a hardfork that fixes all this for good. did not fix the problem. still stuck at block 14485. the account balances in the heatwallet.com are wrong since some A2A trades. when do we get a full account based transaction history to have a proof?

Anyone else seeing a discrepancy between wallet balance and the balance seen at http://54.221.26.215 ? Perhaps answering my own question on the discrepancy, but still an issue. In the App Server, I see the block up to 18282, but on the blockchain explorer it is only at 17712. I presume the "missing" forged heat in wallet are in those missing blocks.

The web wallet masternode landed on a fork during the wee hours and has since been corrected for now. It reminds a lot of NXT - is HEAT built on top of their codebase?
Yes originally based on NXT yet heavily modified since 2014. Still uses NXT p2p layers and cryptography. I would like a README-user.md somewhere
The current versions have been put out in rush to fix early network malfunctions. Proper readme will hopefully follow with the next release. Can I use just ANY SecretPhrase? Yes. Use a sufficient number of random characters or at least 10 words. Is it wise to show the SecretPhrase as cleartext in your input field?
No Sign in unfortunately is preliminary still aimed for stakeholders mostly Is the "Load BTC" functionality working?
Yes. Manual monitoring and verifications during the early phases of the network may take a bit longer than 1 confirmation for Load, and about 24 hours for withdrawals. the account balances in the heatwallet.com are wrong since some A2A trades. when do we get a full account based transaction history to have a proof?
Please supply more information which account and which balance is wrong, it would help us in tuning things. PM or email to support at heatledger dot com works also if you mind sharing that publicly. Thanks.

Is it already implemented to withdraw BTC from heatwallet.com? Before I sell my Heat I'd like to know that, because I only find a way to deposit Bitcoin.
Yes. Withdrawals will take approx. 24 hours because of the blockchain reorg possibility at the current time. Instructions for withdrawals are visible when you click on the LOAD BTC button. I always get a message "Incorrect "Not enough funds"" when I try to withdraw BTC as it is described. I get the message too when I type in less of the amount that I have.
