41  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jaron Ennis vs Cody Crowley For Welterweight Title July 13 on: May 15, 2024, 02:56:09 PM

Ennis is exciting to watch just as how much you expect a KO when Ortiz fights. Crawford vs Ennis is one of the most speculated fights in which Ennis might have a chance to flip Crawford. Ennis might even have a chance to defeat Vergil Ortiz, he only needs to develop his counter.

Though Crowley can absorb punches, I think this fight is an easy win for Ennis. Most likely by UD.

Ennis is not just hype; he is a real deal and a big threat to Crawford. I have a huge respect for Crawford, but a fight with Ennis is challenging since Crawford is moving up. The only challenges now are Ortiz, Spence, or Ryan Garcia, who has a big question mark if he is going to campaign in the welterweight division.

Yeah, I do agree that Ennis is the real deal, although is just caught the tail end of the Crawford or Spence rivalry that's why his name is not inserted between the two. But if he is present or at least here when there is the hype between this two boxers, maybe we can see this 3 fighting each other.

Now that Ennis is a champion the Welterweight is a division to watch. It's only a matter of time before we can have unification bouts because this division is loaded with boxers with good credentials.
I'm hoping to see an Ennis-Ortiz match hopefully this year.

If Ortiz is really healthy maybe he can fight Ennis. But there is also that Ortiz might go to 154 lbs as he have issues already making the 147 lbs. But still loaded though with Eimantas Stannionis and Mario Barrios as him and Terence Crawford are WBC champions, Barrios being the interim.
42  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Taylor vs Catterall - April 27 on: May 15, 2024, 02:31:05 PM
I thought that this fight has ended already, but when I checked it has moved to May 25.

Quote
The Josh Taylor-Jack Catterall rematch has been postponed for a third time.

Taylor underwent a procedure on his eye last month, pushing the fight off its intended April 27 date.

Taylor-Catterall 2 has now been rebooked for May 25, Matchroom Boxing announced Thursday.

The fight will still take place in Leeds, England, and be streamed on ESPN+ stateside and on DAZN in the U.K.

"I had a minor eye procedure at the beginning of February," Taylor said Thursday on social media. "A subsequent checkup showed that I was on the right path for April 27. I attended a final checkup yesterday expecting to be signed off by the medical team. However, I was told that my recovery had slowed, and I was advised to postpone the fight."

https://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/story/_/id/39731042/josh-taylor-injured-rematch-vs-jack-catterall-ppd

And with that, the odds as per Stake, it's now 50/50 at 1.86. It looks like Josh Taylor though has seen better days and the wear and tear is not affecting his body. So I wouldn't be surprised if Catterall finally get the numbers here against his arch nemesis.
43  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: May 10, 2024, 11:02:13 PM
I have thought of a very head shaking conspiracy theory and if this is true this might be a very genius psychological campaign created by King Ry's team. What if this steroids scandal was also created by Ryan to keep everyone talking about him? What if sample A was intentionally with steroids and sample B is very clean?

If proven innocent after the release of sample B's results, everyone will begin talking about him for many weeks again. King Ry might be trying to keep the attention on him until December heheheheheheheee.

Both A and B samples come from one container which is divided by an official conducting the testing. It’s practically impossible for one sample to be clean and another one dirty. This is why Ryan is trying to get ahead of this by claiming that the failed test is due to contaminated supplements. I don’t know whether he will be exonerated but he is already busy trying to hype up a fight with Errol Spence.

Yes, let's talk about that, Errol barking on him I mean WTF? unless Errol really wanted a piece of Ryan now as he is the cash cow and obviously Errol wanted big fights after that devastating lost to Spence. And for sure Ryan wanted all the attention that he is getting right?

And regardless what will be the outcome, this guys is a great for boxing, perhaps if he is cleared then he might really be looking for a Errol Spence fight or someone that can give him big purse.
44  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jaron Ennis vs Cody Crowley For Welterweight Title July 13 on: May 10, 2024, 10:42:23 PM
Thanks for this, I thought no one had open this thread and I'm thinking of opening it.

Nevertheless this is a good fight, there's a lot of hype of Ennis recently, since he sign a contract with Matchroom and this is his first fight. Crowley is the mandatory for his IBF belt so yeah, this is going to be a great fight as Crowley as has pops as well in his punch.

But the fight is going to be held in Ennis hometown, so for sure there will be a lot of fans going to show support for him and he wants to have a great performance for them. Might not go to the judges though as Ennis might win in a knockout or if not, then totally dominated Crowley for a unanimous decision.

So @LM, just imagine if you have been with ROCKY since day one and invested, you could be one of those who could make huge profits already.  Grin
I was aware of the existence of the project through MetaWin but didn't know that the project was from MetaWin owner. Othgerwise, it could be different lol.
That's because they just recently release it, but now we know, I think it's still possible to make profit from investing on it. However, it's quite really different if we have invested from the very start, bigger profits will be enjoyed as of the present.

And there was an article in Binance.

https://www.binance.com/en/square/post/7515127940049
Quote
In a bold move on X (formerly Twitter), Skel projected a $100 million market cap for $ROCKY, offering to provide exit liquidity at a $5 million valuation – a commitment that saw the token’s price quadruple within just ten hours.

it's price history, https://www.binance.com/en/price/rocky

maybe this will be listed soon.  Grin

Right, and that is the beauty though of crypto investment, we really don't know what to buy and we might have heard it before and choose to ignore it or there are those who ride on the bandwagon early.

And now that that cat is out, for sure some of us here might be thinking that it's not too late to invest as we are about to approach the bull run for this year.

@Potato Chips - if I have a choice I will go with Bitget though as compare to Mexc.  Smiley
46  Economy / Speculation / Re: High transaction fees affects those who DCA on: May 09, 2024, 11:24:08 PM
Bitcoin transactions typically spike around the halving, and Bitcoin fees continue to be the biggest barrier to transactions. Basically I think it's best to look at Mempool when trading. Because from this you can guess about the gas fee in case of coin transaction, and according to Mempool you will definitely get some saving if you do Bitcoin transaction. Weekly if you are holding in DCA method here you can complete this transaction monthly or every 15 days. But it is also in good practice to complete it by keeping you money.

Exactly. It's best to make transactions at different time periods to save money. Keeping a few BTC on exchanges seems to be the only option right now. You can do DCA on a centralized exchange without the need to pay high network fees (except when you make a withdrawal). I've read that some exchanges are integrating LN support (Bitstamp, Coinbase), so high fees would only be a thing of the past.

Remember, patience is a virtue. Those who manage to wait, will eventually be rewarded in the long run. Bitcoin network fees won't stay high forever, anyways. I'm hoping the Ordinals hype comes to an end, so Bitcoin can be used more throughly as a currency than a store of value. At least, that's the dream. Cheesy

Fees are at least lower already, 15-20 sat/vB is not that expensive for us average Joe traders so we can continue to do DCA and put it in our wallet that we have total control of instead of this centralized exchange. At least we can all go back to our DCA days again and slowly accumulate as much as we can.

And I do agree that patience is really what separates a diamond hand against weak hands or smart investors to say YOLO investors. So we need to set our mindset correct in the beginning and so we can continue to go and invest and look for bigger profits in the future.
47  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Peoples expectations about casinos free spins on: May 09, 2024, 11:07:49 PM
What do you guys think that free spins are supposed to be like?

Have you ever used free spin to make money? At least a noticeable amount and withdraw it?

Of course, who wouldn't take that free spin and make money? I have taken advantage of it, even in land base casino, but unfortunately, no dice for me.

Here is my own believe, I hardly believe in free spins, because even if it turns out fine it's free money, and free money without breaking a sweat feels wrong with me, I believe this path is for the greedy people.

LOL, not sure if I heard it right, maybe you are one gambler that has morals,  Grin.

Free spins are not supposed to enrich you, take them as a demo to see how the online casino feels like.

What about you ? How do you feel about about free spins?

I mean yeah but why not? it was given for you to try out and maybe if you will win then take that as a big plus. Of course it will not get you big money for sure, but it's all chance and I think majority here will go and take that free spins any time of the day.
48  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: May 09, 2024, 10:36:20 PM
Longest face-off in boxing?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Voa-oXjTv9w

It was like they started at 0:27 and then the announcer in the background doing his job, and after he had said everything, both of this fighters are still staring at each other, LOL. Personally though, I'm seeing Loma winning by unanimous decision here, he is the more experience and the better boxer/technician in this fight.
49  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: May 09, 2024, 10:13:06 PM
Casimero doesn't have any to bring for Inoue except that taunting, which I think the camp of Inoue has matured already from all the antics of Casimero and that's whey his name is not even mentioned.

I think Casimero's named was mentioned during an interview after Inoue defeated Marlon Tapales, but for sure Casimero is not the priority since his ranking is low. However, for a champion that has been disrespected everytime, I think he should accept the challenge of Casimero so he can shup him up. Inoue vs Casimero, such a good title, and I think the fans will be fully satisfied as sure this fight will end in KO, not sure who will win but I know it's going to be fun.

Even if his name is mentioned after the defeated Tapales, fast forward he was not the fighter that Inoue faces but it was Nery, who obviously he knockout and another of his victims along the way,

Hypothetical question to you guys, who do you think will win though, if both Terrence Crawford and Naoya Inoue are in the same weight class let's say Crawford's best weight at 147 lbs and then Inoue at 122 lbs? Who do you think will win?
50  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 09, 2024, 09:55:14 PM
And if Ryan Garcia vs Errol Spence happen this year, another money fight for Ryan and as what we have seen, he is becoming a cash cow and Oscar is going to be happy to see him fight Spence and for sure they are going to oblige but we will see who will be the A-side and hopefully we get some news about the split and some details.

However, there are news that the Garcia vs Haney fight did only around 500,000 PPV, way below the projected numbers of around 1 million.

But they say the source of the data is not to be trusted, - Rick Glaser.
51  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 08, 2024, 11:33:39 PM
@inthelongrun. This is my reply in King Ry vs. Haney thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5484591.msg64042433#msg64042433

I reckon if that is correct, everyone who has said many negative things will feel stupid again very much similar when they felt stupid after King Ry's victory because they have been tricked again by team Ryan heehhehe.

@Kemarit, hopefully the garbage WBC will strip him of his belt. How many years Jermall has to hostage the belt? His last defense was 2021 and we are already in the year 2024. Mungia was supposed to be the mandatory of that belt back then but the corrupt WBC did not even call a purse bid to make the fight happen. Maybe Alalshikh can do something to this corrupt sanctioning bodies.

I do agree, he haven't defended that belt for many years and yet the WBC didn't even strip him of the belt. So now is the time for them, so that this division will at least be alive without Charlo being the champion.

Alalshikh is doing great for boxing, and I think he is now the most powerful middleman as he can put up fights very easy and this governing body can't say anything. And with that, maybe he can work out a deal that this 160 lbs division like unification, or have some rated boxers fight it out and then challenge their champions. Chris Eubank Jr. could be the potential bankable star of this weight class if ever he will win at least one of the belt. He is rated number 3 by the WBC.
52  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: May 08, 2024, 11:14:52 PM
(...) Bivol could become the favourite because of the continuity of his condition, whereas Beterbiev needs to recuperate and get back to training, there were instances where fighters loses his power and slow down his movement because of surgery I hope it will not be the case for Beterbiev.

If Bivol defeats Zinad with ease, and if Beterbiev will fight Bivol straight after recovering, then I have no doubt that oddsmakers will no longer see it as a 50/50 match, but will favour Bivol with odds probably around x1.50.
Injuries like that can be a major setback, especially for a fighter that's almost 40. The recovery time increases a lot at that age and getting back to 100% health is not always possible.
But I wish him all the best.

Right, right now it looks 50/50 for the oddmakers, and if Bivol looks good and sharp against Zinad and maybe win by a knockout or impressive domination, then he will be the favorite again, but this time no longer break even.

And if we look at it, will be months before Beterbiev can recover and most likely he is no longer training by this day and resting. And so after the recovery, that will be the time that he can go back to the gym again and more time to be back 100% and most likely he will be aged again at 40 years old.
53  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin way forward - Towards $100k or $50k on: May 08, 2024, 10:58:40 PM
It is very difficult to predict the current price of Bitcoin because this halving is different from the previous halving. Bitcoin price reached a new ATH before the halving occurred. This is different from the previous halving where we knew there would be a new ATH after the halving occurred. There are currently no signs of a bullish bullish pattern taking hold, so this may be a false bull run to attract buyers before another drop occurs.

For now, don't enter the trade using all the money blindly without any strategy. However, still make purchases using the DCA method because rest assured there is always an opportunity to make a profit in Bitcoin and this opportunity will certainly never end. Even though currently the price of bitcoin is at $57k, I am sure bitcoin will reach $100k within this year, we just need to be patient and continue doing DCA on bitcoin. I hope that all of us here can be free from modern slavery and can achieve financial freedom.
I do agree that it's a risky period and trading right now is not easy, those are all very well established stuff and I am sure that we are going to do better. What I think we will need is the fact that we are going to end up with a good result that will not be too simple, we just need to make sure that we know what we are doing before we get to do any of this.

It's not that complicated though, yeah there are risk period and we all know that. Involving ourselves in Bitcoin takes a lot mentally, and it's more of the money. We need to be smart when to enter the market and then continuously buying at a rate, which what we call DCA.

It is not a simple situation, but if we can do it then we are going to manage to make as much profit from crypto as we can, only thing we need is time and patience, if we can wait for it then we are going to be able to make some good profit from it as well. I personally hope that things will go better, and could end up with something much more profitable in the end as well.

But after we get over with it, it will be simply, just repeat the process. Bu then again, it's the patience and then we need to set our goals, and the best advise is to go long term or continue to invest at least one full cycle in this market and see how it goes for you. If you feel that this market is for you, then go and have a journey. But if you felt that you need more time, maybe you need to go to another test.
54  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: May 08, 2024, 10:42:32 PM

Inoue should give Casimero and the fans a chance to makeit happen, as a fan of both, I like to see them fight so we can conclude if Casimero is just trolling or telling the truth. I guess it's quite overdue, he should fight Casimero this year.

We all want to make it happen. It is good for the boxing community; the ball is on Inoue's camp. He is the champion. He has the privilege or the luxury to pick who he will fight, the same privilege Canelo enjoy.
But if you take a closer look Inoue's camp never mentions Casimero they totally ignore him, Casimero have done a lot of taunting.

There's a viral video where Casimero is jumping and laughing when Inoue was knocked down  Cheesy Cheesy
Inoue's camp should watch the movie and see how Casimero mocked Inoue; Casimero is one animated guy who loves to mock people inside and outside the ring; just imagine the hype if these two meet in the ring.

LOL, but he could be the next victim though, he should be humble, but I guess this is the way he wanted to be, I mean he trash talk not seen before for a Filipino, very brandish on his part. Nevertheless, he himself can't knockdown any opponents at 122 lbs or at least he has been in controversial fight.

But let's see, his name is not amongst those, and it's the Australian Sam Goodman is the next fighter that Casimero will face and it was reported to be in Australia?

That will be a first for Casimero to defend his belt outside of his native country but he should be careful as Australia is known to be have biased decision. However, if he scores another sensational knockout then who needs the judges card?
55  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: May 08, 2024, 03:52:37 PM
MetaWin's native token is MWIN which is yet to be launched. ROCKY has been created as fun (named after the dog of MetaWin's owner). It has been created as a meme token but the response from the community is huge. Unfortunate that I missed the earlier announcement, otherwise, it could be a huge ROI if invested.
I did not know there is a token like ROCKY launched by the MetaWin team too and missed the superb good opportunity.

With the MWIN point system to launch, it will help Metawin users who are actively use the platform, will accumulate points and get chance for MWIN token airdrop in future. I believe the MWIN point system serves for the interaction, usage assessment of users, which will be used later for token claim and distribution.

And there is a good read about ROCKY here,

In other news,

https://twitter.com/MichaelBensonn/status/1787963341446533159

I think he should be vacating his belt at 160 lbs, or at least he should be stripped already because of inactivity and then this case. No more favoritism so that other boxers can fight it out as he holds the WBC belt.
57  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: May 07, 2024, 10:05:57 PM
I have seen some fight highlights of Nery and I got to say that there's not a lot of things worth mentioning, he's an okay boxer and I think that he could stand up for himself but pitting him against Inoue, I don't think that he's up for it. It's probably a knockout from Inoue, dude's a monster in the ring so I'm not sure how we can be too dismissive or at the least too indecisive about this one, it's definitely Inoue's win.

He was a champ and a top boxer in the division, there's got to be something on him that's why he sort of knocked down Inoue. If the chin of Inoue is just vulnerable to such hit, Inoue wouldn't be able to stand. A lot of people people actually celebrated that knocked down thinking Inoue's career will be over.

Not just that, Inoue is top pound for pound fighter, and with this showing, he will still be up there in the top. Good to see him being knock down because we need to see how he is going to response with that. And as we have say, those punches that we didn't see coming, will put anyone, but the questions is how he will make a comeback. And he shows us by giving back a knock out win. Truly one of the best in this generation.

Of course, Nery is one of the best. Inoue plans to defend the title 3 times in this division but I think it's time to move up 126.

Any thoughts of Nery vs Casimero next as well? They have been engaging in trash talking way before, so I just want to see this fight as well.

Reports say Sam Goodman will be next for Inoue before the end of the year as he is the mandatory fighter.

59  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: May 07, 2024, 09:14:43 PM
Not defending Ryan, but let's put it this way, a boxer was also found to be positive but he didn't win the fight, Michel Rivera suspended six months, fined 15% of purse for failed drug test.

So there is an argument that even if you uses Peds, it will not help you win a fight as the example above. Ryan doesn't look jack at all with all this Peds accusations though. So this remains to be seen and the timing of the released of this news, when everyone was celebrating Ryan's victory, they try to destroy and discredit it by some entities.
I speculated that it's either Ryan,

a. Knows that he is taking PEDS
b. Doesn't know that he is taking PEDS
c. Doesn't know, but he did take contaminated supplements that's why he tested positive

And we all know that Ryan is good for business in boxing and this could flew under the radar and be quiet about it. But there could be someone that break this news to someone that's why it become so big right now.

You know how this all will end? Does not matter if he was clean or not. Does not matter if he failed his weight. Does not matter if he won belts or not. Does not matter if he drink or smoke. Does not matter if he cheated or won unfair with judges help. All that is matters, that the world will remember him beating Haney. History does not remember losers. The fight has already happened, people saw his hand being raised. That is it. Nobody cares what is after the fight. What matters is what was during the fight.

Yes, you're right,, we've seen Ryan already demolished Haney and the best that they can do is to change it to no contest. But what matters is the future fight of Garcia, for sure his next opponent will used this issues against him or will press for more intricate drug testing surprise visit more than what it should or even his weight could be a big question.

But as others posted, even the cash cow has once or twice caught with supposedly Clen on his system but it was attributed to the "cows" from his Mexico. So let's see, there are pro boxers riding on this issues and attacking Ryan in public but it seems the news has died down a little.
60  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think casinos can stop demanding KYC? on: May 05, 2024, 10:25:01 PM
Casinos existed without the need for KYC's until the government made it a requirement, and they started demanding it. IMO If the government no longer requires casinos to do KYC verification for new gamblers, casinos will go ahead and still do KYC verifications because they have seen the benefits of knowing their customers better than when they just allowed people to come onto their platform and gamble without their knowledge of who they were. What do you think? Do you think some casino's will revert back to non-KYC and allow money launderers, plus other fraudulent people have their easy way with them as a way to attract customers, or since they recognize the personal benefits of KYC to their casino, will continue demanding it even if it affects their customers?

Well it's very different now, before we never thought of this kind of things, I mean crypto was invented or at least Bitcoin by Satoshi as a payment scheme, you can't read anything about money launderers and others that will take advantage of his invention to be used other done what he designed it to be.

And when criminals found out that they can wash their money in gambling sites, so gambling platform uses like you have to bet x amount before you can withdraw or a betting requirements. But still, it's not enough and so enter the financial regulators.

I also think now that gamblers have accepted this fact already that most online gambling platforms will demand KYC and I don't think that they will revert back to non-KYC as they could cease operations once regulators find it out.
