...
The loop is tightened around the neck of the regime in Kiev. Justice will be served very soon!

You may be right judging by the one and a half million refugees (mainly women and children) that have fled the war and invasion.

Ordinary people like me and you, their lives destroyed.

What sort of justice will be served then?

Executions of the elected government officials to be replaced by Russian appointed stooges.

May not end soon either, near where I live military jets have been active all night long and again today above cloud cover.

Perhaps testing F16s in readiness to hand over to Poland in exchange for the MiG-29s and Su-25s donated to Ukraine?

Or preparing for a no fly zone?

The Europeans will get dragged into this war one way or another and not by choice while America will eventually be forced to under NATO obligations.

There are no winners!

The 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine should be awarded to Putin. There is no Covid anymore.

The Old Norman punishment of castration and blinding would be more appropriate for Putin.

what do we think about 50k by end of week. Seems likely to me.

Firstly, we've gotta make it to the end of the week then we'll see about bitcoin price.

Excellent point.

US bases in Romania and Poland must remove rocket launchers installed last year or will be bombed by Russia!

Putin is scared shitless by NATO. So it will not happen.

An attack on a NATO country is very different to invading and attacking a nearly defenseless nation like Ukraine to murder civilians. In the name of Liberation and DeNazification.

There are more Nazis attending a regular football match in Russia than exist in Ukraine.

Where are all the girls putting garlands around Russian soldiers necks in thanks for Liberating them?

Russia's actions have ensured that Finland will become a member of NATO and possibly neutral Sweden.

Missiles and armor along the entire western border just what Putin did not want.

The biggest miscalculation of Putin's life, is he too at 69 going senile like Biden.

Always happy to hear the situation from Russian point of view, please keep posting.

Bitcoin clicks up another $1k notch.

Now his gold statements can't help him and other gold optimists who thought it would be safe heaven and the ship for them will soon sink. Those calling btc bubble has now big hole in their gold ship and it can't survive the strong waves and this is going to happen soon :

Peter Schiff falling the rabbit hole with his gold bars :

Those who were happy with gold prices surging this is how gold rug pull happens:

The blue lines are gold representation and orange one for the one and only bitcoin.

While WO all know that Bitcoin is the best bet.

It is still prudent to own some physical gold as insurance against calamitous events.

The price chart needs to show the 4000 year moving average.

Roughly an ounce of gold bought a milking cow in ancient Egypt.

Today a good replacement milk cow costs around $1400

At today's gold price $1930 you'd get the calf as well.

In the year 6000 there may not be bitcoin (or humans) but an ounce of gold will still buy one milk cow if humans and cows still exist.

$43k not a bad start to March.

I bet they are going to fight every meters where it really matters (the battle for Kiev is going to be an hell for the Russians).
Just my two cents.

The battle for Kiev is already a hell without Russians. The puppet government in Kiev handed out guns and ammunition to population. Now shops and banks are being robbed one after another by street gangs and looters.

Does Putin give you a tissue to clean that up afterwards?

Truth is uncomfortable and often painful, right?

East or West we are all mushrooms - kept in the dark and fed bullshit

Ah it's soon the weekend.

I'll be relaxing with a beer, steak and a smoke.

Mr Putin will be relaxing in luxury and safety at his Palace on the Black Sea

While hell is unleashed on ordinary people in Ukraine. Which country will be next?

Ukraine soldiers leaving for war and most of them will never return.

You figured it out. He has eyebrows like the other guy and because he is wearing a glove that must be him.

Why he is the only one wearing the  mask? He's got covid  Huh

2014 photo no covid back then

Ukraine soldiers leaving for war and most of them will never return.

War is deceit.

Distrust everything from all sources.

Even the use of the true 2014 picture above of the Azov Neo Nazi Battalion.

And the 2014 (stock photo) picture of the girl embracing the volunteer soldier (in Kiev) who may or may not be the hooded guy in both photos.

Add in the hybrid neo nazi flag photo for good measure.

Excellent bit of propaganda.

There are plenty of examples coming out of Ukraine and western media today targeting Russia.

$38600 a nice 9% rebound from 24 hours ago making some of yesterdays bargain hunters happy.

Welcome to the forum Bakker, now fuck off and do not return.

Looking at this from the reverse view, I remember a young guy posted here a long time ago that he had sold a house he had inherited from his father and bought bitcoin with all the proceeds. I think the BTC price might have been $300 at the time. I often wonder if he held on long term to his coins. Which would now buy him an entire street of 100 houses or more.
At the time many here were saying he was crazy to risk all of his fathers lifetimes work, while others - who had a good inkling of where the coin was heading - applauded and encouraged the young guy.

Wow.  This is extremely bad news IMHO...

Trezor Adopts Swiss Travel Rule Protocol for Private Crypto Wallets

https://www.coindesk.com/tech/2022/01/27/trezor-adopts-swiss-travel-rule-protocol-for-private-crypto-wallets/

The Swiss, from the best most private banking system to the worst nanny state oversight in the world in one generation.

How sad.

Yes, I've noticed similar tendencies with ProtonMail (based in Switzerland), trying to bait paywall features in exchange for additional user details (and connection meta data), as if doxxing the French climate activist wasn't enough.

That case certainly sucks and incurred the wrath of many Protonmail users.
At least he was informed in advance of the request by French Police enforced by Swiss Courts.
His encrypted email account was not compromised the contents not revealed.
His VPN activity was not available, Swiss law does not require VPN logs to be kept.
There is a ProtonMail onion service for those requiring increased security.
You can sign up (pseudo) anonymously and upgrade the account without revealing personal details by paying with Bitcoin.

ProtonMail is reasonably good compared to the offerings (and security) of the major email services offered in N America, Europe and Australia, who hand over your unencrypted data to law enforcement without any court warrant or to any commercial business for a fee. However ProtonMail have to operate in the real world bound by ever increasing draconian surveillance laws.

Trezor going down the toilet with their Swiss Travel Rule Protocol.

In other news Bitcoin keeping us guessing as to the next move in price.

Yesterday I saw a video on Tiktok from this Pablo guy (thinks he is Bitcoin Jesus). He is saying that Michael Saylor bought almost all of his Bitcoin in leverage, that he is only the CEO of Microstrategy and that if the others want, they can panic sell all Bitcoins without MS agreeing to it and that he lost trillions in the dot com bubble. I was always suspicious about Michael Saylor, but then again, I never trust rich people.

I have no clue about all this and wonder what you all think about this? Will MS be the new MtGox who will cause the next Bitcoin crash at some point?

A man on the internet (ie a random fuckwit) said "any old shit"     so it must be true.

As Jay said just sell all your coins now you don't need an excuse

But it wont make you any less stressed out as your fiat will have devalued 30% over next 4 years while you will never afford to buy those bitcoin back.

DYOR on MSTR the NASDAQ listed company.

To AverageGlabella - the only regret anybody has on this forum is that they did not buy more Bitcoin at (insert any date here)

I have my cold wallet stash which I add to periodically and use Bitcoin as my savings and deposit account adding spare fiat when available and only taking some out when absolutely needed. Loans are still cheap and the first call for unexpected day to day outgoings.

I'll take it as a C+ then.

10 years ago i found bitcoin, and vowed i would ride this pig either into the ground or right to the moon. its allowed me to retire early already.

you and BJA too..   What a coincidence.

its a pretty good ride.

Not for BJA.. I think that he gave up around $500-ish.

err.. whats a "BJA" ?

i just knoooow ill regret this

BJA was billyjoeallen who has not been seen here for a long time along with stolfi. (who claimed to own no bitcoin - only academic interest)
probably for security reasons.

The article on RT about "proposed" Russia regulation of Bitcoin.

https://www.rt.com/business/546744-crypto-ban-russia-explained/

With the West threatening sanctions on Russia including exclusion from swift payment system Bitcoin may well be their friend in time of need.

Muh Hedge against inflation

Actually, if you count the inflation from 2017-2022, you'll realize that BTC at the current price is almost close to the $20k ATH of 2017

Dogshit fartcoin with the worst performance of almost all cryptos and stocks if you hodled it since December 2017 (you know, 4yr+ ago)

It is an invalid comparison, 2017 peak to random price just happens to be now.

Peak to peak or 200 week moving average or low to low are better comparisons.

All these measures outpace inflation by multiples.

I'm pretty confident this will continue and have my buying shoes on right now.

The shitcoins are taking a pretty big hit right now, making Bitcoin almost a stablecoin in comparison.

58  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 24, 2022, 12:58:03 PM
Just back from a 2 week vacation, price down 8.5k in that time.
I did not intend to buy any more Bitcoin but at these price levels (greed takes over) I am wiring fiat to the exchange today.
Have had a catch up read through a selection of WO posts and in places detect a hint of fear even amongst 2 cycle hardened folks.
Who banned Bitcoin this time now that China is completely banned out? oh! Russia.
A quick search of RT turns up a piece which gives no real cause for concern.
But it is enough alongside perfectly choreographed dumps to help panic sellers part with their coins.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10381775/Bitcoin-tumbles-8-Kazakhstan-internet-shutdown-hits-cryptocurrency-mining-operation.html#comments

The dumbed down drama queens over at the Daily Mail think it's all over. Well they probably don't actually think that, but they like to give that impression to get some advert clicks I guess.

Read the stupid comments and up vs down votes to see just how early we are.

People still don't get it (some copy and pasted comments with a few of my own reactions):

"But why do all the altcoins follow Bitcoin? Even the proof of stake ones you can't mine?"

"Unless Bitcoin is powered by wind, solar or nuclear energy, it is a doomed concept. Don't believe me ?, Just wait and see......."

"Bitcoins are like the Emporer's new clothes!!! Only fools buy them."

"You can't say that because you don't know how many coins will be issued tomorrow. Do not believe what they say; they fixed the quantity now but can do whatever in future."

"using real energy to create a fake currency wont end well."
 - What a cracker that one, considering recent inflation.

"It seems to me that if this ridiculous sc@m of mining bitcoin (in other words creating equations?) uses so much electricity to produce nothing more tangible than thin air, then governments around the world should stop charging their citizens Green Taxes and land the crypto firms with gigantic Green Windfall Taxes." - Crypto miners aren't helping to fund green taxes also??

"Dump Crypto buy gold." - Peter Schiff has a DM comments account I see.

"Pontzi scheme"

"The bitcoin is worsening climate change. We should blow up bitcoin factories to save earth"
  - Please point out the Bitcoin factories on a map along with easy to find via Google known locations of Fort Knox, the Federal Reserve, The Bank of England, Swiss gold vaults and just about every centralised national bank that we know exists. Can you do that?

""The bitcoin is a big balloon, which will end soon. Ask yourself, what is the collateral of the bitcoin? A enormous quantity of WASTED and paid electric power. Is there a government, economic, army, natural resources behind it? NO.NO.NO. Only a formula with"  - That is the whole point, it is decentralised from a parasitic government or army.

"Surely if there's less crypto currency it the value should go up?" - They really ought to update economics classes but they probably never will as the establishment wants to keep the fiat scam going.

"And that's how safe bitcoin is, your money disappears in seconds" - Up 40x in 5 years, whereas most western fiat is down about 40% in 5 years I reckon.

"Considering the world is trying to conserve our energy consumption and lesson the effect on global warming for future generations it seems like Bitcoin is a bit of an issue. You investors are now kiiling Polar Bears and corroding our coastline" - Making fake dollars never hurt any single little furry creature you think?

"Crypto the new word for thicko"

"Bit Coins ? It's make believe money for gullible people who think chocolate coins are real and bite into them just to check. Monopoly money doesn't fool anyone not even granny." - Well monopoly (fiat) money is fooling YOU it seems.

"Bitcoin is literally burning money to make pretend money. It's a blight and is only in existence because shady billionaires want to take down nations ability to control their own currencies." - You're saying nations currently aren't controlled by billionaires? Really?

"Oh no not crypto, sad pathetic currency people use during a midlife crisis thinking they are millionaires" - I suspect there are more millionaires in WO alone than in the DM comments section.
 Grin  Roll Eyes

To be fair, there are now some people in the DM comments that have wised up for sure!
"No big deal. Buy the dip."

 Smiley

Thanks for a good laugh BitcoinBunny, Daily Mail readers not the sharpest tools in the box.

Comment "Hope your EU leaders kick Kazakhstan out of the EU, for cracking down peaceful protesters"
Hmm did not realize EU had expanded 3000 miles to the East.

Even more disturbing is the propaganda element.
First two images Bitcoin price graphs, followed by image 3 a protestor getting arrested at gunpoint.
More images of the carnage interspersed with an image of computers.
Obviously suggesting the cause of this is something to do with Bitcoin.
Are Daily Mail owners suddenly desperate to acquire Bitcoin?

The rest of the comments the usual mix of wilful ignorance and proof that MSM propaganda against Bitcoin is being internalized well by a great number of people. Plus the increasing minority that do get it.

For all you ham radio enthusiast, a 97 year old station powering up and transmitting, amazing old technology.

SAQ Grimeton Christmas Eve 2021 Transmission on December 24th

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ecg2UrKvNr8

Edit: "SAQ is transmitting on one frequency only; 17.2 Khz, as the radio wave is generated mechanically and the rotating alternator cannot produce any higher frequency. The transmitter was installed in 1924 and it was in operation 24/7 for several years. During WWII it was used to communicate with sub marines, as the low frequency allows the radio wave to be recieved under water, down to about 6 meters (18 ft). We are on air 2-3 times a year. See our website alexander.n.se and subscribe to our newletter and you will be noticed in time before any."

The antenna is 2,2 km long, that's a hell of an antenna.

Fascinating well presented video, enjoyed that more than most of the crap I've endured over Christmas holidays.
Don't know that cAPSLOCK's transceiver would pick up VLF as low 17.2Khz.

Bitcoin price still hovering at mid December levels, no tears to shed.

Optimistic for 2022.

Arriemoller and all of WO Happy New Year and many more of them.
