41  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering requirements for withdraw on: May 12, 2023, 10:28:49 AM
-snip-
1. Every casino has unwritten rules, every deposit need to be wagger 1x (most the time).
When a site offers a deposit bonus, the site can demand wagering as they wish because they are offering the bonus to their customers.  If there is no wagering requirement then everyone will only deposit money and withdraw with bonus.  For example, if the site offers a 50% deposit bonus, if someone deposits $100, his balance will be $150. If there is no wagering requirement, then everyone will repeatedly deposit and withdraw that money with the bonus he he.

Quote
2. KYC : They're not offering anynoymous feature right ? In the term & condition is also being mentioned sometime casino can ask you KYC in some situation.
Licensed casinos will not offer anonymous features.  Because many illegal activities like money laundering can take place here and at that time the details of the criminal may be required and on the other hand the casino site will have to take responsibility for these illegal activities.  So almost all casino sites require KYC for high amount deposits,  withdrawals and gamble.
Exactly! They will also not allow themselves to be on the loosing ends. Regarding KYC, sometimes it is required specially on those famous gambling platforms, it is not thaf when you win they will exploit your information or they will manipulate your information, but it is just a measure to prevent launderers from doing hideous things like you have said. Although you can say that your data is at risk since there could be a breach on their platform or if someone will hack and stole your data they will immediately use it, of course there are still the risk like a coin in which there are heads and tails, so if ever something is offering you complete anonimity it is quite troublesome to deal with if something bad happens. As I've said repeatedly here on this forum, being unknown and popularity will never go hand in hand.

43  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you consider moving abroad? on: May 11, 2023, 11:07:53 PM
I personally have never thought of moving abroad. Maybe because I already feel comfortable with my own country. But to be honest then of course the salary in my current country is very low maybe even if I only rely on the salary from my job in the real world then maybe it will only be enough to cover my needs. And of course it won't be easy for me to save and invest. So I decided to always be open to this type of side job. what I specialize in is only from online work. I also sometimes trade online to supplement my income. and it can be said that now my income has exceeded the minimum salary in my country. and Alhamdulillah I can save and invest stably and regularly now.
It is indeed good to have side hustles nowadays specially the job opportunities offered are not that plenty enough and has a very low salary to help you sustain your daily needs while your expenses keeps on skyrocketing due to this inflation and high prices of needs. For me personally, I am still open about the possibility of going abroad due to same reason as yours and more importantly, I'll only go there if I am assured to have a job since processing your papers for abroad here in my country requires decent amount of money and it would be a waste if I didn't have a job to land on once I'm abroad.
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Bitcoin will become stable currency? on: May 11, 2023, 10:55:21 AM
I've always seen Bitcoin as an asset, not money. My point is that the price of BTC is unpredictable so it cannot be said that it has a stable price. I instead think that BTC is not stable in its price.
Because the price of BTC is greatly affected by how much demand there is in the market and it adheres to a basic economic law that I think we all learned in school.

Agree. That's why I don't get it when maxis are saying that soon everyone gonna pay with bitcoin for everything
Although Bitcoin was initially made as a currency that has some aspects of a store value/asset due to its volatility, nowadays it leans forward to an asset since we all know how much it started before compared to the price today. It's not their fault that some people treat bitcoin as a currency, but the thing is most people are taking advantage of the price fluctuation which is only additional benefit of bitcoin in the first place, and it is also a way to earn or lose some quick cash. They might keep on asking when will it be stabilized, but if it is stabilized would the impact of that still the same? They might even see this as an extremely rare currency or like a collectible since there are only limited supply in circulation, and I don't think most people that are not that wealthy enough would be able to buy a piece of it or even satoshi coz for sure it'll be sold as a whole or one.
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing doesn't guarantee you to be rich on: May 11, 2023, 08:22:29 AM
If it guarantees success how did some people still lose their money when they are investing right? If it's really assured that you will be able to earn profits then there are no losers on this field. Nothing is really guaranteed when it comes to investing, since you are still risking your money as you've said. Investing is only another option for you to earn some money if you learn how to analyze the market, it is only an option for you to play with your money but at the very least the odds of losing and you have the chance to use your money however you wanted to, unlike in gambling where there're 50% chance, investing will still let you take your money or you can still minimize your losses. It is much better compared to traditional savings in bank in which it is much safer but they wouldn't let you play with your money.
46  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Gcash Down? Unauthorized Transactions on: May 11, 2023, 05:04:46 AM

Hindi ako nakatanggap niyan at baka need mo talaga i-follow up yan.

47  Economy / Economics / Re: What to do with all guy who loss money to stock market on: May 10, 2023, 02:03:09 PM
The crazy part about the stock market is every young guy thinks he is going to get in and trade himself a couple % in profits per day and be rich in a year. It just doesn’t work like that. Those people get bled dry. Unfortunately, it takes age and wisdom to see that being debt free and slowly building a portfolio of dependable companies or index funds is truly the way to reach financial freedom. Slow and steady…
This is what most young generations believe when they first enter stock market not knowing they will not only need  experience, they also need patience and a lot of study in order to build their own portfolio. The problem about this is that, there are some who only initiates recommendation towards new investors but won't bother to teach them what is actually needed but instead, they will teach them unnecessary information or worse is that they will teach them or encourage them to invest what their mentors were investing, the same as what happened on crypto industry.
48  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you like commission job or salary base job? on: May 10, 2023, 10:23:51 AM
I think salaried job is better than commission job. There are more opportunities here. There are many benefits in the job, the benefits of the job are their security responsibility, the workload is somewhat less, retirement benefits are available. In case of commission jobs, the salary is high but the workload is high. Minimum protection in house rent for low salaried masses has been simplified and simplified in traveling allowance. Recreational leave is available but the pay is low but there is a lot of peace.
Your preference is what you think is a good one.

Those people that are in the commissioned jobs will say that the best job is the commission basis job because they're earning more than the salary man if they're on their peak season or if they're more hardworking.

I also like job security but there's also some enticing moments in the commission type of jobs. That's why you do you and what you prefer in terms of these type of jobs.

I have also relatives that likes the commission based job because they can say that they are having side hustle while doing their jobs, which is really true that they are earning bigger than their salary which most of those commission job has a quota to reach , even one of my relative has a higher earned money through commission comparing to a employee from a government which has been stable for a month , but again there really a time that will come that it is difficult to got the quota but still you'll have a salary on it.
Both are still considered good as long as you are earning with it, the only thing I am concern about commission based job is that most of the times it relies on season to season, since there are ordinary times in which you will have a hard time getting sales to reach the quota for bigger commission. Unlike commission, salary based jobs are often times called lazy even the OP has stated it but it has the benefit that you will still earn every 15 or 30 per month.

As what I have understood by both jobs since I have tried both, no sales = no quota = no commission/salary. Although salary based jobs are also categorized as time consuming jobs, I'd prefer stable source of income compared to unsure income specially if you have family to feed and bills to pay.
49  Economy / Economics / Re: Does People Really Care About Decentralization? on: May 10, 2023, 07:13:13 AM
It is undeniable that more people prefer to use centralized services. Because of all that, maybe because the services provided on platforms or in any field are indeed very good. That way many people become accustomed to using the service. Regarding anonymity, I think people don't really care about this, because maybe it's caused by the habits and experiences they've been through during their lifetime, most of them are used to life with an open identity. So more people are choosing openness than anonymity.

as well as accounts on existing social media such as on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and tiktok. Most of these people are all open in identity. So now everyone is used to being open in identity.

And why are so many people currently choosing centralized services, that's probably because the first service or platform that comes to the top has a centralized system, so people will automatically join in.
It's because aside from most people are already accustomed to such system, people also find it too annoying to deal on their own finances only adding to their problems like they needed to think were they will put that money to be secure enough or if they should spend it into something valuable and many more things to think about. As the banks existed solely to hold their money, it is already a load lifted off of their chests and they can focus on other things such as working to add more money while the banks are "promising" like interest rates annually.

Also, although I agree with you that people seems too lazy to rely on their own capabilities in regards of financial management, some also won't choose things that they think it is risky when they knew that their are other option they can choosw in which they can play it safe.
50  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Questions of the day for gamblers on: May 10, 2023, 05:15:36 AM
...

I agree, slots is a chance-based game, meaning the result is random and is affected by an unknown element that we often times called luck.  In this case there is no skilled gambler only lucky or unlucky one.

Skilled or not we all depend on luck... I guess skilled gamblers know that there is no safe bet/spin/roll/hand/you name it. Being skilled in the game will raise our chances of winning, but in the end, we all have lucky and unlucky days. When it doesn't work, it doesn't work, we can be the smartest in the world and that won't help if the cards we are getting are simply bad (poker reference).

And when it comes to slots outcomes are determined using a Random Number Generator (RNG), but we can't verify bets and fairness... So everything comes down to: Can we trust 3rd party Slot providers??
That's what all gamblers should realize, whether novice or veteran. We may know that we really need luck but that is not in line with the reality where we still play gambling even though we have experienced successive losses.

Skilled gamblers are probably those who play card games requiring skill to win. But still, it requires luck to be able to win. There must be gamblers who came close to winning at gambling but unfortunately, their luck didn't come at the time so they lost.

And don't expect too much to make a lot of money from gambling because gambling is not designed to give us a lot of money. We have to limit everything in gambling so we don't suffer losses.
When it comes to gambling then it does really play a great role or factor if we do speak about luck or something that is  the main thing on which we are depending on, neither we do get involved with luck based which
its understandable or either we are involving on sports betting or card games which analysis and skills is needed but luck would really be still having a role when it comes to this. We know that upsets and bad card or hands would really be that possible. If you arent that lucky on that point then you would eventually lose. This is why its really that bad on having that kind of conclusive approach towards gambling
about winning rate because its never been assured in the first place.

Fairness is something that always been that in question and this is why it would really be that common sense that you would really be sticking into something which is known and popular
rather than making yourself getting involved into those new ones but well its not that bad on having those testings.
Luck really played a role on every gambling even if it means those games are more on analysis just like what most veteran gamblers such as yourself would say, but in every game, you shouldn't forget that there is still a chance you will lose and there are factors involved on that. The thing is that most gamblers mull over their loss carrying it unto the next round which make their decision making clouded in terms of analysis, that is why most gamblers find something or someone to blame. They forget that initially it was made for entertainment while earning a little bit if given a chance.

It's true that it isn't bad to try out new games if you wanted as long as you know your limitations, but blaming it knowing it is your own choice that you tried that is not something you should do.
51  Other / Meta / Re: How much Merit have you given/ received? I'm gonna need about tree fiddy on: May 09, 2023, 02:51:34 PM
It's good to spend your sMerit (it won't do anyone any good just leaving it sitting around), and you're already doing a pretty good job I would say; out of the 175 sMerit you've accumulated, you've spent ~86% of it. Smiley

I've spent ~95% of mine (977/1032.5), and whenever my sMerit balance gets too low (it's at 55, right now) I start to feel like I should slow down a bit and work on some "big" posts, so that I can replenish it. Cheesy
Yeah that's exactly right. I'd rather give those sMerits than let them rot on my storage, though I know that quality also matters on giving one but I am just happy enough to receive merits and to give back to the community. I had also received from you during the april fools' event about your captcha. Thanks about it again.

53  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 09, 2023, 01:07:36 PM

That kid is clever; he was very clutch in that game. With his lack of experience in the playoffs, I didn't expect someone like him to step up in such a huge way. The Warriors surely weren't prepared for him, and I'm sure they'll be figuring out how to defend against him in the next game, as he did a lot of damage. Actually, the Warriors could have won that game, but unfortunately, they aren't the same team anymore and can't protect their big lead, as the Lakers can easily come back with a big run of their own.

Truly Walker was stunning the GSW in that game and they can do anything about it because of how he surprise them, he shoot the ball without hesitation as long as he is wide open and you can also see how LBJ trust him to shoot the ball. Good for them they managed to hold their late comeback lead in the last 2 minutes and that was a truly amazing game because the GSW was not gonna give them easy game on that one and they struggled to catch with them until Walker took over in the 4th quarter.

Walker made three consecutive shots before he missed, but he stayed in the game until the end and still made contributions. I believe that the Lakers' coach is really good, and he isn't overrated like some people thought at the start of the season. In his first season as a Lakers coach, he has the potential to bring the team to the Western Conference Finals.

Unfortunately, we haven't seen the old splash brothers here as Thompson hasn't been playing well, he only scored 9 points and has struggled with his shooting.
Although I'm not that updated to the current NBA now but still I keep tabs on their games and some of their highlights. Aside from that, I had also watched earlier how their game take off, I also noticed how Lebron no longer as fast as how he usually are and is giving the credits to Davis and Walker earlier. I really agree that their coach is something else, seeing that GSW is having a hard time dealing with Sacramento last week and for sure their coach made adjustments so they could adapt to that kind of playstyle. All in all Lakers did a good job winning game 4, hopefully GSW will win their games too since it is most fans anticipated their games.
54  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling or gaming sites on: May 09, 2023, 11:00:32 AM
I have not tried playing in these sites so I can't share any experience about them, but I probably have heard or stumbled upon one or two of them, in an ad most probably. The impression is that they are basically a gaming site. But the gray area here is that you will be buying whatever coins their games use and do some staking or betting and win or loss them. But they are also convertible to real money. That's the gambling side of it. They're like offering chips or tokens. I wonder if these sites are licensed as gambling operators, but they are indeed offering gambling.
If we look at the site where slot games look familiar to us, that site is a casino site. And even though we can use free money or play using demo mode, we can be even more curious about how it will turn out if we use real money.

I also think that maybe in the future, the site will offer chips or tokens that can be used for gambling in addition to using fiat or main coins. But be careful if you want to try it and always stick to only using the money you can afford so, you won't regret it if something bad happens later.
Who knows maybe they'll do it. Actually, this kind of platforms although not that popular in some countries, there have been similar sites/platforms or versions of it, and some are even offering services like you can play with a minimum amount of deposit, or in short anyone can afford since it is very cheap to start playing. I have similar sites that my friends recommended me and I'm pretty sure it's not familiar with you guys, same mechanics applied as to what OP wanted to convey, this is also why I said it has pretty similar features although the difference is only how much base deposit needed.
55  Economy / Gambling / Re: List of crypto casinos with high wagering requirements on: May 09, 2023, 07:16:37 AM
Really, i don`t see a problem to bet 5x in casino. If you choose a casino for a long gambling you easily bet 5x.
Not necessarily. Maybe you are miscalculating how much you are actually betting. Imagine that you deposit $100 and start wagering. Most people wouldn't bet the whole amount at once. They would divide it in loads of small bets. Maybe $1 per spin on slots or round of play on another game. If you make 100 bets, you have only reached a 1x wagering requirement. You still have 4x to go. The house edge will destroy you the longer you are wagering. Bet $100 at once or $50, and you are looking to lose your money faster.
I highly agree with that, although it may seem unfair at first glance, it is just made to prevent those schemers on doing something illegal or for instances those who had good luck initially will probably fly away after winning on their first few bets. Before I find this strategy unreasonable, but after experiencing luck after luck of gambling I know how easy it is to make money and if for example I happen to lose due to bad luck, know that there are some who will win, besides before you even plan to deposit money into that platform, you are already a loser so at least you will enjoy your losses, coz no one on their right mind would make a living depending on coin tosses or slots not unless you are the owner of the house.
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Aliens accept BTC, What about newborns? on: May 09, 2023, 03:09:54 AM
If most of us human beings are even struggling to accept newly introduced currencies and are having different perspective towards finance, how much more those who have entirely different world view than us? It's not only all about different norms and traditions or even way of life but, if we talked about extraterrestrial creatures visiting us and expecting them to accept what our tradition is, probably it will take time. Let's assume they will not accept our currency, for sure they will be the ones introducing us to a new resource or will even force us to submit to them since they might think they are at the very top of the food chain. Think about it, if some alien visited us on the guise of covert mission, for sure they are using most advanced technology compared to us and you expect them to bow down their heads to a lower life form whose technology cannot match theirs? I sincerely believe that it isn't a matter of new species or newborn babies adapting to crypto but we need to fix this so called unity first as I've said that we are still struggling to accept the differing opinions from each other towards financial literacy.

58  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Importance of entrepreneur in school curriculum on: May 09, 2023, 01:46:59 AM
I cite this example,
there are 1,000 graduates while there are only 100 vacant jobs. For sure it was impossible to put all of these graduates to work and only 10% of them got a job while 90% are unemployed. Now if every year this will happen and no job increase, then more and more unemployed people. That is why we should not rely on finding a job but have also to find ways and use our skills if possible to create money.
And I certainly agree that entrepreneurship is very important in school and should be improved as this serves as their option after finishing studies (or even not) so they could still find another option while waiting for a job.

It is not everyone that can be entrepreneurs but everyone can handle jobs. This is the reason it is so important to fish out those who are willing to take risk and accept the consequences of the risk they took. These people are thought and nutured from early state in the vasities.
Where we always have problems is when the people who have entrepreneurship spirit and not spotted and trained, they will join those who seek for salary jobs and making the majority to be the job seekers and minority to be the job creators. This is where the most imbalance is created in the society.
Entrepreneurship in schools can solve this problem.
I wholeheartedly agree that a school exist to prepare students when they go outside the real world, and not just to prepare another batch of fresh graduate workers to the economy. I also believed that it is beneficial to teach students how to handle themselves if the risks is unmanageable or when the situation is already spiraling out of control and they need to fall back and resort to searching jobs. It is a lot of compromise if we think about only teaching children how to risk and become entrepreneurs. One thing that is a must to be taught for the students is to have an entrepreneurial mindset in which they will be more resourceful and be creative as what the OP says, and that is also the ability to utilize whatever resources available in your area at the same time continuous learning.
59  Economy / Speculation / Re: How was your belief formed? on: May 08, 2023, 06:05:51 PM
Strictly speaking, our trust is only formed and strengthened when we get positive results from it. When I first started investing, I was always skeptical about the future of bitcoin because the people around me always spoke negatively about it. But after profiting from it, my belief became stronger. It can be said that trust will be built through results, when we receive good results, the trust will be stronger.
.

I believe that people who say negative things about bitcoin can be said to not understand how bitcoin works and what benefits bitcoin holders get. Therefore, don't listen to other people's words and do it based on your own beliefs and principles.

Lack of knowledge is just some of them, I think the people who are talking bad about bitcoin are mostly people who understand bitcoin very well. I mean the government, I don't believe that the government lacks knowledge about bitcoin, they can be even better than us. But because bitcoin is of no benefit to them, they cannot accept it and seek to smear it. They spread lies about it so we stop using it and continue to trust them.
Since they themselves cannot touch or govern bitcoin, they're using this method in order for them to discourage people from using it while saying so many bad things about crypto in general. We all get it that somehow they are concern about the possible risks attached to bitcoin, but is that really it? As of now they are even slowly imposing rules masking it as security measures but the reality is that they just wanted to pry into your accounts and see how much money you are investing into this kind of things, or should I say they are taking a peek over your privacy and call that security.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High transaction fees and businesses that accept bitcoins. on: May 08, 2023, 01:33:16 PM
This has already happened so many times in the past and some merchants who trued accepting bitcion as payment didn't last that long due to the inconsistencies. Although prices can be changed depending on the product, there are still risks where it is possible that the fees could be more expensive than the price of goods. There have been various decisions already if they are going to continue or not specially right now for example where networks could be congested any time of the day and you need to push your transaction by paying more fees. Although it isn't that expensive the delays of the transaction alone can compromise the trade on the merchants.
