401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin-*ENCRYPTION, MARKETPLACE, BITCOIN INTEGRATION* - FINAL BETA SOON on: February 25, 2016, 05:40:33 PM
The wallet looks very good indeed. Awesome job Sys team.
I was wondering: will ever the marketplace be accessible via web browsing? I believe this could be a huge simplification for the average user.

i'm not a coder,so my help in this initial step is ZERO, but i hope in the near future to be able to help in marketing.

Briefly, because I've got a real-world job to do...

There are other ways people can contribute.  For example, at some point we're going to need alpha and beta testers.

Are you gonna join the team?

EK I am happy you took it over. I believe this is such an interesting project.
How is the team composed at this moment? Will Dazza be a part of it?
404  Other / Off-topic / Re: Relaunched Completely on: February 22, 2016, 07:37:19 PM
@EK are you actually in contact with Lionel? I am unsure about investing in this coin or not.
He is still the guy who will handle the ICO funds and it looks like he's not giving his contribute anymore to the discussion you and dazza brought in.

How to get into sys's slack group?
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin-*IN-WALLET DECENTRALIZED MARKETPLACE: PUBLIC TESTING COMING SOON!* on: February 21, 2016, 09:58:44 PM
I knew Sys was really undervalued. I am currently in a strong profit (entered @140sat) but still holding. I am very excited and curios to see the release.

The blockchain syncing is taking ages, is there a bootstrap file?

There isn't yet, but I can get one together for ya. I'm prett tied up with sys2 rested work today, could I get u the bootstrap Tomm?

Sure, take your time sir

Thanks for your patience, I'm running my client in a debug mode (txindex=1) so im not 100% sure if this bootstrap will work without the rev*.dat files, but please give it a try. If it doesn't work I'll include the rev files:

Syscoin 1.x Mainnet Blockchain Bootstrap (up to block 781566)

Hey thank you for that, but I noticed the syncing process was taking less time that earlier, so I let the wallet do that by itself.
I can't verify if bootstrap works without the rev files at the moment, sorry for wasting your time Sad

I have few questions:
- elastic.pro points to 0 BTC funded yet, is that correct?
- Is there any available information beside the name about the main dev?
- can you estimate how much time have we got left until BTC block 400000 will be mined?

Thank you for the responses.

Have you guys forgotten to renew the syscoin.org domain? It looks like it has been squatted by ParkingCrew.com.

Yeah it is cool that this leak is a huge opportunity to improve the tech behind the coin, but the other side of the medal is that a coin which claimed to be truly private has been revealed to be not and its whole hidden blockchain has been deanonymized.

So has the masternode binding been taken down?

You mean "blinding" ? I believe so, some time ago.

Yeah sorry I meant that.
So basically the entire network is vulnerable to a massive ddos attack, isn't it? If so, how can DASH be an alternative to the known payment processors if it can be taken down anytime? I am just wondering.
As far as I know it has been a huge problem for the BTC network.

Quote
Massive DDoS attacks on XT users

Despite the news blockade, within a few days of launching Bitcoin XT around 15% of all network nodes were running it, and at least one mining pool had started offering BIP101 voting to miners.

That’s when the denial of service attacks started. The attacks were so large that they disconnected entire regions from the internet:

“I was DDos’d. It was a massive DDoS that took down my entire (rural) ISP. Everyone in five towns lost their internet service for several hours last summer because of these criminals. It definitely discouraged me from hosting nodes.”

In other cases, entire datacenters were disconnected from the internet until the single XT node inside them was stopped. About a third of the nodes were attacked and removed from the internet in this way.

Worse, the mining pool that had been offering BIP101 was also attacked and forced to stop. The message was clear: anyone who supported bigger blocks, or even allowed other people to vote for them, would be assaulted.

The attackers are still out there. When Coinbase, months after the launch, announced they had finally lost patience with Core and would run XT, they too were forced offline for a while.

We're aiming for the end of the month for Beta testing and if there are no issues then definitely Early March for the fork.  Exchanges will be halting trading on the coin during the switchover and we will be letting everyone know via Slack, Here, Twitter and any other new outlets we can get on.

Gotcha, keep it up! Smiley

cheers

Is the guy also working on de-anomyzing darksent(d)s?

No, he stumbled upon it whilst working on Ring Confidential Transactions for Monero. Perhaps if a bounty was offered he would try.

Maybe we should set up a bounty to be paid via budget proposal if anyone succeeds.

Someone proposed to do that a year ago but had no luck.
I approve the proposal as well.

Hi XXX long time no see.
Basically you install the wallet (1.5.11) locally, synch up.
Go to your exchange (Bittrex? Polo??) go to your wallets page, send coin from that wallet to your local address.

Let me know where you need more detail or hop back into Slack and I can walk you through it.

Hi there, yeah I've been away from the scene for a while and had to sold all my sys.
Now I have bought back them as well, and I am willing to hold because all this looks promising to me.
Thank you for the response, cheers!

ALSO - if you are worried about the switch from sys1 to sys2, most exchanges will be doing that automatically, so if you're not familiar with importing key or wallets its fairly safe to just keep your coins on a recognized exchange like Bittrex or Polo.

Yeah I am familiar with managing with private keys, however do you know when will there be the hardfork? When it is supposed exchange will switch from sys1 to sys2?
edit: if I download the latest wallet, I don't need to import the sys2 private key, do I?
