2) I heard the FANS of SP30 today, and it is really quiet compared to SP10. Low pitch and way lower volume. Would not put it in my bedroom still, but you almost don`t hear it from the next room - and that is in `turbo` mode. But maybe it's just me going deaf from sitting in a room with 6 SP10s.
zvisha, Thanks for that info, will be interesting to see if you can tweak it over the weeks ... are the fans in the SP30 PWM controlled? I'll also check out the new firmware, must say that my SP10s are coping well in quite warm conditions at present ... but loud ... one unit just seems to resonate and make vibrating noises.

Let's start working some details with them and then let's start a Group Buy for hosting. I am sure that there are a lot of small miners in Europe who would love to colocate their rigs if they will have nice price/kw.
YEP! Sounds like a good idea ... +1 for being interested in this ... my August SP30s have to be hosted ... somewhere ... I've been searching.

Except you can't buy the bloody things over here.
Where are you, UK? - I am. Sure they are scarce (eBay.co.uk has a few listed ... collection only and too far away), I'm going to call a friend who runs an air conditioning company ... see what he has in his 'stockpile'. I'd guess most local AC companies might have some interesting equipment just lying around ... worth a call/look.

Now this is some seriously good thinking. Did not cross my mind about a window ac which is way more efficient than portables. http://woodbox.dparker.org/Ramming 18 C cold air straight down SP10 throat MSRP 109 $ probably find it on sale a lot less http://www.lg.com/us/air-conditioners/lg-LW5012J-window-air-conditioner500 watts 52 dB (which is emitted out the front end) Find an even smaller unit. Less btu, less watt, lower dB, less price. 10 $ of scrap wood of if you hover around the lumber section of home depot, and ask nicely 0 $ Make the box as big as need for as many machines you have. Go so far as to insulate the interior with soundproofing foam for added measure. Very interesting. Stick it on your balcony, patio, in your basement, in your garage and you're set. That looks interesting, and cheap to deploy ... been looking for a neat solution ... going to investigate ... thanks for the seed of an idea!

Unfortunately, Emerson won't provide a fix to the 1050w PSU. The SP30's 1200w PSU doesn't have this problem.
Thanks for the transparency and honesty (again), I've got used to the noise, but I don't sleep with my miners.

I keep my current miners have an average of 97F (36C) during the day (Miami, FL)
My experience is ... (only got them 5 days ago) ... running two SP10s in an average temp of 30C - 31C and they are rock solid at 1.4TH. Temps read in at 32C, out at 72C ... the room keeps quite warm

Question: in the worker tab there is an option to set minimum difficulty. is this better to set at highest or lowest setting?
As I understand it, just be honest at whatever your miner power is, set it accordingly to the GHs power it is capable of, or mining at. If you have a 180Ghs machine, set it to 128, a 1TH machine that might consistently slightly under-perform ... set it to 512 ... a 1.4TH miner then 1024. eleuthria will be able to give the exact info/guidance I'm sure, although I believe if you set it wrong, then there are safeguards in place where the site automatically adjusts things for you?

LOL, you have to give it to Bitmain, now selling S1s in two's ... didn't see that one coming ... but can appreciate why they are doing it.
Can't be long before they stop the S1, move to smaller chips and the S2 (renamed the S3?) appears.
... so that buggers up those coupons ... only worth half their original value now, as only one per order can be used.
Actually no, you can use 2 coupons for one order of 2 MOQ Ant S1's Maximum 2 coupons per order. So price will drop to 0.82Btc OK, I stand corrected then, I tried earlier and only got the option for one, thanks!

Has anyone with an SP10 upgraded their firmware to Version 1.3.16?
Any issues?
My two SP10s received yesterday appear to have just missed the upgrade.
I did. No issues. Thanks for the info, I'll give it a go. Maybe the update sorts the issue i have with trying to set a fixed IP address.

Instead of setting a static IP on thr SP10, why not try DHCP Reservation at your router? That way, the SP10 will always be assigned the same IP address by the router.
It's a lot easier than trying to set a static IP address at the miner.
Thanks, I'll try that ... but still wondering why the setting won't save and register in the miner.

Received my 2 SP10s today, great shipping speed - confirmation shipping email received yesterday - delivery today (I'm in the UK). I have to say that the packaging for these units is FIRST CLASS, obviously custom designed and the SP10 fits like a hand in a glove - so no room for movement whilst in transit. Thick and chunky. Others have said this, but I also was surprised by the weight of these quite obviously well made units. Not that weight is an issue, in fact they feel reassuringly well made and solid. I've only had limited time to play and check through the settings available ... need time to find my way with these. One problem that I've immediately come across is how to set a static IP address. By default the miners are set to use DHCP. After un-checking the 'Use DHCP' box, entering the IP address I want and clicking save ... it doesn't seem to register. Tried it countless times, but I cannot seem to make the setting. Would appreciate any ideas from anyone on this. So Sponds ... 10/10 ... really pleased ... and August SP30s can't come soon enough

Got my confirmation email today for two SP10s ... that DHL tracking number has become SO important !
Got to hand it to Sponds, you do deliver on time ... just hope the speed matches up, given your earlier (to be fair transparent) comments about the chips.

I did not expect that I have to reinsert the cards, but now it works. Hashing with avg 1006.35 GH/s.
After all the horror stories written throughout this thread, I have it on record in the forum that I would never own an S2 and thought Bitmain had lost it. Due to a weird set of circumstances (A fellow mining buddy in trouble, favors called in and a diverted order) today I nervously received a batch 4 S2. First impressions were that the box was intact and the foam packaging looked pretty good. First thing of course was to unscrew the cover and check the cards ... none were out of their connectors, but ALL easily pushed down into position by a couple of mm to fit back into their sockets securely. The two rails that are supposed to keep them in place were a little high, so there was room for movement ... especially as the S2 had been packed upside down in the box! Also the screw holes in the holding rails had been drilled too big, so the screws had popped through. So ... time to switch on ... and nothing. It powered up, but the fans continually ran at full speed and the display was blank. I checked the display cable ribbon (looked OK), and then the Ethernet cable, which had slightly come adrift of the controller board. Take two: switched back on ... and it has been hashing away fine ever since. So Bitmain are getting there, still a few little tweaks maybe to protect these miners during shipping. Why not make the blades lock into position like PCIe cards?

Can someone using BTCGuild pool please provide their S1 Pool configuration address?
Every other pool connects but my S1's refuse to work with
stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333
for the life of me I don't know why.
thanks
http://stratum.btcguild.com:3333Or maybe eu-stratum.btcguild.com:3333 if you want the EU address. Works fine for me and the Ants.

475mm x 430mm x 53.63mm
This is what I love about Spondoolies ... '53.63mm' ... it's the .63mm that is SO exact ... gotta love 'em!
