Russia defends close encounter with U.S. Navy missile destroyer

Russia acted "in accordance with international rules" when its unarmed fighter jets had two close encounters with the USS Donald Cook in the Baltic Sea, Russia's Defense Ministry said Thursday.

Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov spoke to Russian state news agency Tass.
Initial reports indicate two encounters with the U.S. Navy-guided missile destroyer occurred Tuesday night in international waters.
One of the Russian jets flew within 75 feet of the U.S. ship's superstructure.
The Cook "encountered multiple, aggressive flight maneuvers by Russian aircraft that were performed within close proximity of the ship," the U.S. European Command said in a statement.
"We have deep concerns about the unsafe and unprofessional Russian flight maneuvers," the statement said.
The ship, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, had a Polish helicopter on board as part of routine training, according to a U.S. official, leading to speculation Russia was "sending a message to Poland."
A U.S. official described the Russian maneuver as "strafing runs" without firing any weapons. The unarmed Russian aircraft swooped in over the deck in the same flight profile that would have been used if an attack were underway.

I prefer signatures campaigns  that pays in btc because I do not hold any altcoin. I do not see any stability in altcoins prices and it is even more volatile than bitcoin. and I believe that most of distributed coins are worthless

Zika virus 'scarier than initially thought'

(CNN)"Everything we look at with this (Zika) virus seems to be a little scarier than we initially thought," Dr. Anne Schuchat, CDC principal deputy director, told reporters during a White House briefing on Monday.

She was joined by Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Disease at the NIH. "The more and more we learn, the more you get concerned about the scope of what this virus is doing," he said.

Both continued to remind the public that new information about the virus is being learned every day.
They reviewed what's been learned in the two weeks since they last addressed White House reporters on the virus.
The mosquito-borne disease is a cause of microcephaly, according to the World Health Organization, but Schuchat said experts are now linking the virus to premature birth, eye problems and other neurological conditions in babies born to mothers who were infected while pregnant.

These concerns are no longer limited to exposure to the virus only during the first trimester. There is reason to be concerned throughout the pregnancy.
Schuchat also noted revised surveillance maps of the Zika-carrying mosquito, Aedes aegypti, released last month, showing that the insects could be more widespread than previously thought, reaching as far north as San Francisco and New York.
Fauci said researchers are on track with their goal to begin a clinical trial for a vaccine in September. He also said his teams have screened 62 existing drugs as possible treatments. Fifteen have been identified for further research, although he cautioned they may not pan out.

Americans and Canadians might need visas for Europe

Be prepared! You might need a visa for your next European holiday or business trip.
The European Union is considering requiring Americans and Canadians to apply for visas, even if they only want to come for a short break.
So why the tougher line? European officials say they may suspend a visa waiver program for the U.S. and Canada because they still require citizens of some EU countries to apply for a visa.
While Americans and Canadians only need a passport when visiting the EU, visitors to the U.S. from Poland, Croatia, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Romania need a visa. Romanians and Bulgarians also need visas for Canada.
"The objective here is to achieve full visa waiver reciprocity for citizens of all member states and this is a priority for the European Union," said Mina Andreeva, a spokesperson for the European Commission.
Canadian officials said Canada's visa policy is not based on reciprocity.
"Rather, Canada must be satisfied that countries meet its criteria for a visa exemption," said a spokesperson from the department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
"Canadian officials in Ottawa and Brussels have and continue to be heavily engaged in a very positive, ongoing dialogue with Romania, Bulgaria and the European Commission on this issue," the spokesperson added.
The U.S. government did not respond to CNNMoney's request for comment.

413  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: April 08, 2016, 08:50:03 AM
I think it will be good to invest in both because the bitcoin has a good future in a short term and the gold got a good future and is profitable on a long term.
This would in my opinion one of the best options you could choose.
Thats it! For short periods of time the best option is BTC but if you're thinking on investing for a long time gold is better, in my case i like gold because is  something phisical and you can have it at home (I have invested in both)

a lot people completely disagree with you that bitcoin is a short term investment. nowadays bitcoin price is so stable and in order to make some profit, you have to wait for long time. except if you are talking about trading because it will be profitable for both of them

ISIS captures hundreds of Syrian cement factory workers, report says

ISIS-affiliated militants captured more than 300 workers and contractors at a cement factory in Syria, state news reported Thursday.
Al-Badiyeh Cement Co. said the militants were holding the workers and contractors from the plant near Damascus, according to the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency, citing a source in Syria's Ministry of Industry.
The company had not been in contact with staff as of late Thursday afternoon.
Local official Nadim Kreizan told SANA that witnesses saw about 125 "abducted workers" being put on buses headed toward areas more firmly under ISIS control.
Ramdi Abdulrahman, head of the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told CNN that he believes 150 to 250 factory employees were missing.

The factory is in Al-Dhmeir, a town 48 kilometers (about 30 miles) northeast of Damascus, the Syrian capital and the base of President Bashar al-Assad's government.

Bitcoin Browser Brave Draws Fire from Major News Publishers

The maker of ad-blocking browser Brave, which plans to give users the option to view ads in exchange for micropayments in bitcoin, has responded to a cease-and-desist letter it received today from members of a major newspaper trade group.

Seventeen members of the Newspaper Association of America (NAA), including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal, sent the letter to Brave, calling the business plan proposed for the browser "blatantly illegal".

The letter states:

Quote
“Your plan to use our content to sell your advertising is indistinguishable from a plan to steal our content to publish on your own website.”

British Prime Minister David Cameron acknowledges profiting from offshore trust

After dodging questions for days, British Prime Minister David Cameron acknowledged Thursday evening that he had owned and profited from shares in an offshore trust set up by his late father.

The admission came as the impact from a massive leak of financial data continued to ripple across the globe, with Russian President Vladimir Putin alleging a Western conspiracy and Iceland reckoning with the fall of the country’s prime minister.

Cameron himself faced calls to resign from at least one member of the opposition Labour Party Thursday night. But so far at least, there’s been no evidence that the prime minister did anything illegal or improper.

Still, the admission of a past financial stake in an offshore trust represented an awkward moment for a leader who has spoken out forcefully against international tax avoidance and evasion.

What do you mean by a bitcoin full time job ? If you mean trading so my answer is no because trading is risky and one should have another source of income.
If you mean to create a bitcoin project, it depends on the idea if it good and will go viral or not
