402  Economy / Services / [WTB] Pool Software Installation on my Server on: September 02, 2012, 01:07:44 AM
My budget is 2 BTC

I want to install ecoinpool or eloipool on my dedicaded server but this task is way too much for my linux skills (even if i could get it working i would not know if this is secure).
Payment is when work is finished.
Work is finished when the pool software is working on my server so that i can mine on my own server.

Thats it, short and simple.
403  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: [ANN] eloipool - FAST Python3 pool server software on: August 31, 2012, 11:33:10 PM

405  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Black Pearl Investments - 15% Weekly Interest. Enough booty for everybody! on: August 30, 2012, 12:52:22 PM
I bet you get a top position in any hedgefund if you can guarantee to make 15%pw, or make a private contract wit helicopter ben - he might honors your service xD.

406  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [ANNOUNCE] ecoinpool - A brand new pool mining software written in Erlang on: August 30, 2012, 12:34:01 PM
Also going to give ecoinpool a try - a wonder i came that far but its still not working.

I installed couchdb (never worked with it before) from git https://github.com/apache/couchdb

I did all steps in the README.unix tutorial including:

Quote
Change the ownership of the CouchDB directories by running:

    chown -R couchdb:couchdb /usr/local/etc/couchdb
    chown -R couchdb:couchdb /usr/local/var/lib/couchdb
    chown -R couchdb:couchdb /usr/local/var/log/couchdb
    chown -R couchdb:couchdb /usr/local/var/run/couchdb

Change the permission of the CouchDB directories by running:

    chmod 0770 /usr/local/etc/couchdb
    chmod 0770 /usr/local/var/lib/couchdb
    chmod 0770 /usr/local/var/log/couchdb
    chmod 0770 /usr/local/var/run/couchdb

I have changed the couchdb password and used  -> user:couchdb pass:mycouchdbpass

Code:
root@j064:~/ecoinpool# ./test_launch.sh
==> ecoinpool (compile)
==> ebitcoin (compile)
==> rel (compile)
==> ecoinpool (compile)
Erlang R15B01 (erts-5.9.1) [source] [64-bit] [smp:4:4] [async-threads:0] [kernel-poll:true]

Im really not a linux super geek and pretty happy i got that far, would be very happy about a little support.
Not much, but ill give 1 BTC to the person who gets this working (posts the right solution here).

EDIT: i have also edited the local.ini to bind the couchdb to 0.0.0.0.

Its up again as it seems.
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin can no longer continue safely and will quit on: August 26, 2012, 11:23:40 PM
Got the same error "Bitcoin can no longer continue safely and will quit" when i was backing up my wallet to a vmbox.
Somehow the wallet.dat ended up with read only permissions which obv caused the error for me.
409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [MARKETING]Get ZeroHedge to publish an article about Bitcoin on: August 25, 2012, 06:22:36 PM
Great idea indeed, brings bitcoin to the attention of a lot smart heads.
410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: maybe pirate is just a front for banks/governments/people who would destroy btc? on: August 25, 2012, 02:22:43 PM
Its def in the conspiracy area but not completely unrealistic in my opinion.
The fact that there is a FBI report on bitcoin shows that there is attention for this topic.
Considered the huge interventions on the currency market (for example usd/jpy) they of course could cause volatility with the aim to scare oeple from holding bitcoins, ie drying out the market.
411  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: If I win the 10,000BTC, I have an idea for what to do with the money... on: August 25, 2012, 01:44:01 PM
Id personally prefer a digital version.
However, a public awareness campaign could be a nice idea.
412  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Liberty Reserve still down? on: August 24, 2012, 02:41:40 PM
Yeah, indeed, right now i feel like withdrawing there and buying bitcoins.
Wanted to do so when the coins where tanking bt sadly it was already down.
However, im getting nervous concerning my lr account Sad.

413  Other / Beginners & Help / Liberty Reserve still down? on: August 24, 2012, 02:25:26 PM
First, i did not found a fitting category so i post this in the newb section.

Liberty reserve was not available the last days, yesterday they posted on their blog that the problems have been solved http://blog.libertyreserve.com/ .

I still can not access the login page, is there anybody else with the same problem or is it working for you?

Couldn't resist trolling, look its awesome
415  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: When is this pirate drama going to end? on: August 22, 2012, 10:41:18 PM
The whole story is pretty amusing and of course interesting, however, im not invested on any of these schemes and never will be.
If i really want to gamble ill put my money in real investments where i do my own dd.
In the end all this story does is the effect that more people will see bitcoin as a tool for scammers and people with illegal ambitions.
On the bet all i can say that either the guy who makes the bet is stupid or has enough money to prove his confidence or knows more than anybody else here.
416  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestions for the forum on: August 22, 2012, 03:06:45 AM

As soon as i have another one il share it, till then may somebody else has a better suggestions.
